Satan’s Holiday!

To Hell with the Devil by Jimmy Paragas #5554

I don’t like Halloween,
I believe it’s Satin’s parade
and for all of his victims
my heart is very afraid.

I watch witches and vampires,
march up to my front door
looking for some candy
but I want to give them more.

I want to tell them about Jesus,
and the sweetness of His grace
I want to wipe the bloody smiles
from their evil-looking face.

I want to share God’s goodness,
give them a taste of heaven above
I want to reveal Satan’s tricks
and tell them about God’s love.

I don’t like Halloween,
for I know it’s Satan’s holiday
and I pray tonight from him
I can turn ~ all of them away!

Acts 26:18

and from the power of Satan unto God,
that they may receive forgiveness of sins,
and inheritance among them which are sanctified

Satan’s Tackle Box ~

To Hell with the Devil by Jimmy Paragas #5554

A peek into Satan’s tackle box,
should give you the shudders . . .
for the lures he uses come
straight out of hell’s gutters.

He casts out the snare of pride,
when God tells us to wait
for he knows our inflated egos
are so easy for him to bait.

He loves to entice us,
with the bait of envy and greed
for he knows with our possessions
we are not willing to concede.

He draws from his box of lures,
the most treacherous bait of all . . .
wolves in sheep clothing
in hopes, all will heed their call.

He wants to entice all he can,
with tolerance for immorality
for he knows we use God’s love
to endorse a lenient rationality.

Yes, a peek into Satan’s tackle box,
should make every Christian run away
for the deception that he uses . . .
has already caused many to go astray!

you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly
they are ravening wolves.”

More, More of Your Grace ~

Don't Give Up used with permission IBible Verses

Lord, grant me the grace,
to face yet another day
though my body withers
let not my spirit fade away.

Keep my faith strong,
be to my heart ever near
show me Your great mercy
bring my soul eternal cheer.

Lord, give me endurance,
I want to finish the good race
but Lord, I cannot do it . . .
without more, more of Your grace.

This illness ravishes my body,
together it’s our cross to bear
so please impart unto me
extra grace for me to wear.

Lord, help me to be strong,
as we go through this valley
then in Your grace and mercy
my spirit can peacefully rally!

Sometimes!

Breath Deep used with permission IBible Verses

Today, for some,
and yes . . . including me
the way of the Lord
is sometimes hard to see.

Although we endeavor,
to follow His perfect will
the road ahead of us
is sometimes all up hill.

We try not to doubt,
or let our worries in
but for all our efforts
they sometimes win.

And as we go about,
seeking the righteous way
we sometimes forget to ask
for direction when we pray.

But, if any of you,
are sometimes like me
I know without a doubt
you’ll concur and agree.

For we are His faithful ones,
we know we must press on
until our fears and worries
are removed and gone.

And then we will acquire,
our promised eagle wings
for we know that is what . . .
our hilltop experience brings!

“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run,

Take My Pride Lord ~

Life A Life Jesus will be Proud of used with permission IBible Verses

Lord, take away the pride,
in the things I say and do
let me take no pleasure
in just my point of view.

Teach me to be humble,
instead of being right
so I can stand worthy
pleasing in Your sight.

Help me to be meek,
less of myself aware
let not my ego cause
other people to despair.

Let me be grateful,
modest in my needs
may I not be haughty
in my acts and deeds.

Lord, take away my pride,
let me make You proud
may it be Your gentle Spirit
that stands out in a crowd!

Ask, Ask, Ask ~

God is Good used with permision IBible Verses

Ask the Lord for help,
don’t hold back a request
ask Him for your daily needs
then let Him supply the rest.

Ask as though you’re a beggar,
as if you had naught a thing
ask knowing God will provide
then watch what He will bring.

Ask for a deeper understanding,
wisdom above everything else
ask to stay true to His teachings
not to be led away by the false.

Ask according to His perfect will,
while sticking close to His laws
ask in the name of the Father
then confess to Him your flaws.

Ask God for assurance,
then rest and just believe
ask trusting in His provisions
then see what you’ll receive.

Ask for whatever you desire,
for God is up to the task
but ~ first you must remember
to ask . . . ask . . . ask!

Oh, To Know Thy Goodness

Life Worth Living used with permission IBible Verses

Oh, to know Thy goodness,
Thy holiness and Thy grace
to have within my very reach
Thy strength to embrace.

Then I shall not ever doubt,
or fall away in dreaded fear
then I shall know what it’s like
to have You ever near.

Oh, to understand Thy anger,
Thy judgments and Thy wrath
to seize upon the truth that leads
to deliverance along Thy holy path.

Then I would mount up on the wings,
that eagles use to fly and soar
then I would take off to the heavens
and enter through salvation’s door.

Oh, to have found Thy perfect rest,
from the weariness from deep within
to grasp the Gospel of Christ Jesus
and find deliverance from my sin.

Then I shall not be tossed or thrown,
by every gust of wind or stormy wave
then I would find my Lord, my Savior
waiting for me  ~ to save!

Strength of Character ~

Strength of Character ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

It’s easy to be appreciative,
when all is going well
when there is no conflict
upon which to dwell.

But, when times get tough,
we often aren’t thankful
our attitudes don’t reflect
the reasons we are grateful.

It’s in the storms of life,
where we can learn to start
how to grow and develop
gratefulness in our heart.

So when taken off course,
don’t think of it as a detour
be thankful God is creating
in you, strength of character!

“My brethren, count it all joy
when ye fall into divers temptations;
Knowing this, that the trying of your
faith worketh patience.”

Things ~

Don't lose sight used with permission IBible Verses

Things, we all possess them,
most of them have a hold on us
demanding all of our attention
oh, how over them we love to fuss.

Things, cluttering up our lives,
stuffed away in crammed drawers
lying out in the open spaces
locked away behind closed doors.

Things, keeping us so very busy,
taking us here and there
requiring all our leisure moments
leaving no time for God to spare.

Things, the need for this and that,
longing after the newest toy
always needing to upgrade
oh, how they give us so much joy.

Things, we gotta have them all,
tucking them deep inside our heart
playing with them in our minds
keeping us from God far apart.

Things, we all have lots of them,
taking the place of our Bibles
oh, how we worship them . . .
but to God they’re all idols!

Not Guilty!

Saved by Jon Tomero free photo #7929

I have walked on this earth,
for many, many years . . .
I’ve stumbled and I’ve fallen
over my doubts and my fears.

Many times I have thought,
another step I could not take
and life’s troubling journey
I just did not want to make.

I struggled with the frantic pace,
I wrestled with the anxious stride
until the day, I came to realize
I was marching to my own pride.

I knew I needed deliverance,
from the course that I was on
and that is when I felt my life
to God being forever drawn.

He set me on a new path,
and saved me from the pit
He found me not guilty
and my sins, He did acquit!

Black Holes!

Light Blub by Bogdan Kulyk free photo #7887

Some Christians are like “Black Holes,”
they only draw in the light
they can’t see their own darkness
for they always think they are right.

They say they read and study,
their Bibles almost every day
but when no one is looking
their hearts from God are far away.

They believe they are righteous,
there isn’t anything they can’t do
but these “Black Holes” drain the light
right out of people like me and you.

They look as if they’re glowing,
from the wisdom they’ve acquired
and think everyone around them
should be . . . oh, so inspired.

Jesus called us to shed His light,
and His Spirit will show us how . . .
but these “Black Holes” in our lives
think their holier than thou!

Oh, Wretched Women!

Used with permission IBible Verses

Oh, wretched women that I am . . .
sinned so bad, I should be damned
inside beats a cold, stony heart
that only wickedness can impart.

Miserable, pitiful resentful soul,
lived a life out of God’s control
knowing the truth, but looking away
hoping to make it, in my own way.

Years of struggling to seek and know,
yet not really wanting ~ God to show
so much for me to have to give up
didn’t want the bitterness in that cup.

Wasted days followed by useless years,
are now my heartbroken sobs and tears
so much more that I could have done
for God’s glory ~ to honor His Son.

Oh, wrenched women that I am . . .
now is saved by God’s precious Lamb
who sacrificed His own life for me
yet my wickedness . . . I still sadly see!

The Cost of Endurance ~

Track-Running-Race_Sven-Hoppe_i1 from common photo archive

The Bible says to run the race,
with endurance in our steps
to jump over any obstacles
to pass by the risky objects.

This race is not an easy one,
there’s a cost for enduring
most of us can’t stay the course
because sin can be so alluring.

But, we are called to this race,
to be patient and persistent
and in our daily run with faith
we must be pressure resistant.

Before we step onto the track,
we must warm-up our endurance
then work-out any resistance
so we’ll run with God’s assurance.

There will be many roadblocks,
each day we’ll face head on
but, if we trust in God’s power
to them we won’t be drawn.

In this race we’ll have to give up,
things that bring us pleasure
but, when we set them aside
we’ll add to our eternal treasure.

The faithful race is long and hard,
no one said it was trouble-free
but, if we keep our eyes on the goal
we’ll run it filled with joy and glee!

~~~~~~~~
1 Corinthians 9:24-25
King James Version
“Know ye not that they
which run in a race run all,
but one receiveth the prize?
So run, that ye may obtain.
And every man that striveth
for the mastery is temperate
in all things. Now they do it
to obtain a corruptible crown;
but we an incorruptible.”
On My Feet ~
new-2
When my troubles are many,
and my burdens are too great
when my knees fold and buckle
under worries immense weight.
When my heart grows weak,
and my soul is full of sorrow
when I need more that a hug
to even begin to face tomorrow.
When my legs can’t carry me,
and my back is in a slump
when I’m needing extra muscle
to get me over the next hump.
When my mind is dazed,
and confusion has me in a fog
when I need a clear thought
so I can see through the smog.
I lift up my drooping arms,
and raise my trembling hands
I give Jesus my anxious heart
so on my feet ~ I can stand.
He takes from me my burdens,
lifts the weight off my soul
He heals my current affliction . . .
and makes a way for my soles!
“Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down,
and the feeble knees; And make straight paths
Rain On Me ~
Let His Teachings used with permission IBible Verses
Like the refreshing dew,
outside my window pane
the Word of God falls on me
like a gentle rain.
There is such a peace,
that cascades over me
calming looming storms
lingering out at sea.
Between the pages lay,
words of eternal life
flowing in the Good News
the answers to my strife.
My Bible instructs me,
when I need to know . . .
what I should be reaping
how I ought to sow.
My heart begins to soar,
when I grow my eagle wings
as the Holy Spirit rains on me
every spiritual blessing.
Like the refreshing dew,
the Word is uplifting . . .
spilling forth with His truth
to keep my soul from drifting.
To Those Who Know Jesus ~
Afflicted by Scott Johns free photo #11671
To those who know Jesus,
they understand the span
of His loving arms . . .
stretching out to all of man.
Upon the cross we know,
He died to forgive everyone
no matter whom we might be
regardless of what we’ve done.
His death brought new life,
saved us from damnation
with the gift of eternal grace
He bought our salvation.
He rose from the dead,
we call it His Resurrection Day
then sent His very Spirit
to shine light upon our way.
He went to be with His Father,
but left to all this promise
He would be sealed into . . .
our hearts and our conscience.
To those who know Jesus,
these facts we don’t refute
yet,  armed with all these truths
the world still can’t compute!
What’s Under Your Robe?
Blessed ar Those used with permission IBible Verses
Sin isn’t just the kind,
observed with the eyes
there can be so much more
no matter the disguise.
People may point out,
the obvious sin in our life
but it’s the sin that’s unseen
that will cause eternal strife.
Sin that can’t be seen,
that we keep deep within
doesn’t go unnoticed
though we think it’s hidden.
For God sees our hearts,
the sins we’re harboring
He knows every deep secret
that we are nurturing.
We need to check our robes,
look under what it covers
there may be sin in us . . .
He wants us to discover!
Lord, when I’m feeling beaten,
You promised I’d be a conqueror
And when I’m feeling bound up,
when my spirit’s tied up in knots
You promised to be my deliverer
And when I’m feeling confused,
when my mind wanders about
You promised to be my counselor
and to rid me of all my doubt.
And when I’m feeling like a failure,
when my life is but a mess
You promised I’d be an overcomer
and to help me to onward press.
And when I’m feeling fearful,
when anxiety has me in a stew
You promised me Your power
and a mind that is sound too.
And when I’m feeling lonesome,
when no one else comes into my day
You promised to be my forever Friend
Full Submission ~
Throne of the Heart by Stephen Corbett free photo #10163
There is a love,
that’s for God alone
and in our hearts  . . .
He must sit on the throne.
This love must be,
for Him conclusively
for He desires . . .
our hearts exclusively.
For God, is a jealous God,
He will not tolerate
a heart where His love
does not generate.
There cannot be,
another lover of our soul
His Kingdom must be
our eternal goal.
For His mercy and grace,
will be in our reflection
as He becomes the only
object of our affection.
So give to Him,
His high and lofty position
then let your heart to Him
be in full submission!
A Chip On the Shoulder ~
God Looks At the Heart
Some people have a chip,
it’s not just on their shoulder
it’s embedded so deep within
you can actually see it smolder.
They usually are burning mad,
seething with smoke and steam
and their poisonous fumes
are deadly when they scream.
They carry around a grudge,
about something from their past
like a time bomb about to go off
you can sense their deadly blast.
They rant and they rave,
about how everything’s unfair
and they’ll blame anyone
for the misery of their despair.
Some people have a chip,
their venom they like to spew
but, God doesn’t want it to become
something embedded in you!
be kind to all of man.
Comfort the sick and hurting,
show all hospitality
enlighten one another
use your God-given ability.
Restore to one their faith,
forgive one and all
caution one another
pick up the ones who fall.
Have fellowship with one another,
and Jesus will be there too . . .
it doesn’t take a whole congregation
just the gathering of two!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Matthew 18:19-21
King James Version

“Again I say to you that if two of you agree
on earth concerning anything that they ask,
it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.
For where two or three are gathered together in My name,
I am there in the midst of them.”

Alone With Jesus ~

Open My Eyes used with permission IBible Verses

Alone with Jesus,
quiet solitude
alone with love
praiseful gratitude.

Alone with Jesus,
peaceful and still
alone with hope
blissfully tranquil.

Alone with Jesus,
inner reflection
alone with grace
heartfelt affection.

Alone with Jesus,
silent meditation
alone with forgiveness
joyful resignation.

Alone with Jesus,
down on my knees
alone with Jesus
just Him and me!

Psalm 62:5

“My soul, wait thou only upon God;
for my expectation is from him.”

Lemons!

This image shows a whole and a cut lemon.

When given a lemon . . .
we’re suppose to make lemonade
it’s a saying I’ve always heard
but, not one I’ve always made.

You see, I don’t like lemonade,
unless it’s sweeten by God’s grace
then the sourness of this life
I am able to peel away and face.

For what is lemonade,
it cannot quench the real thirst
unless we stir in the goodness
of Jesus’ love ~ into it first.

His love takes out the tartness,
the bitterness and the acidity
it unpeels the sin and grime
pares back the heart’s frigidity.

It removes the hardened core,
it softens up the outer peeling
His loves gets right to the soul
for a refreshing ~ inner healing.

So, if you are anything like me,
and lemonade you abhor . . .
the next time you get a lemon
sweeten it with the love of the Lord!

Romans 8:28
King James Version

“And we know that all things
work together for good to them that love God,
to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

You must warn each other every day, while it is still “today,” so that none of you will be deceived by sin and hardened against God. For if we are faithful to the end, trusting God just as firmly as when we first believed, we will share in all that belongs to Christ. - Hebrews 3:13-14 NLT
