If you want humility,
you will need to find
a way to unveil haughtiness
in your heart and mind.
For, when you reveal,
the smugness deep within
humility will start . . .
to trickle right on in.
If you want humility,
you will need to see
just how self-absorbed
you can truly be.
For, when you uncover,
your self-righteousness
humility with expose . . .
God’s righteousness.
If you want humility,
you’ll need to discover
just how arrogant
you can be to others.
For, when you explore,
your self-obsessed feelings
humility will have you . . .
before God kneeling!

In a world fallen,
we’re all victims
we suffer from sin
and its symptoms.
We lie and cheat,
our neighbor’s we cuss
we’re full of envy
filled with greed and lust.
We rebel, we rise up,
we’re full of pride
our hatred for others
we do not try to hide.
We cheat and take,
we rob and we steal
babies in the womb
everyday we kill.
In a world fallen,
we are all living
and from our sins
we need forgiving.
We need God,
to heal each one
through the blood
of His precious Son.
We need Jesus,
to release the pain
so He can wash away
sin’s deadly stain.
In a world fallen,
we are all a part
and we need God’s love
in each and every heart!

Romans 13:9
“For this,
Thou shalt not commit adultery,
Thou shalt not kill,
Thou shalt not steal,
Thou shalt not bear false witness,
Thou shalt not covet;
and if there be
any other commandment,
it is briefly
comprehended in this saying,
namely,
Thou shalt love
thy neighbour as thyself.”

The wicked enter through,
the gate of pride and lust
worldly riches pave the path
for it’s in “things” they do trust.
They walk with the ungodly,
party with the irreligious
depravity sleeps in their beds
their covers are sacrilegious.
The wicked live in the dark,
their lives are full of greed
they look to the immoral law
to fill their wants and needs.
They do not have a future,
they’re on a road of no hope
drinking and carousing
is the way for them to cope.
The wicked’s end is miserable,
for eternity they’ll spend in hell
but, they who follow God’s Word
in heaven with Him ~ will dwell!

Psalm 1:1-2
“Blessed is the man that walketh not
in the counsel of the ungodly,
nor standeth in the way of sinners,
nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
But his delight is in the law of the Lord;
and in his law doth he meditate day and night.”

The rainbow isn’t a banner,
of one’s lust and pride
nor a place where from God
sin can go to hide.
It doesn’t represent,
freedom to make choices
nor should it be used as a flag
to shut out opposing voices.
It isn’t about liberty,
in a diverse generation
nor a pledge to sue those
who hold a Christian foundation.
The rainbow belongs to God,
it is His promise to the world
that on this earth never again
will He let a flood be unfurled.
It will surround His throne,
during the great tribulation
for those who call on Jesus . . .
for mercy and salvation!

I love my quiet times,
when I am all alone
I love that I am led
right to God’s throne.
It’s there that I feel,
my raw humbleness
as I am surrounded
by His full holiness.
My pride is striped away,
right out from under me
who I am to even think
His glory I should see.
I bow my head in silence,
no words can express . . .
how these quiet times
on me, God does impress.
To my self-complacency,
I do become aware . . .
so much so, that to Him
my undying love I declare.
I love my quiet times,
when God leads and takes me
straight down to my knees . . .
when alone with Him, I be!

Keep searching me Lord,
keep probing my heart
take my anxious thoughts
before they even start.
Keep leading me Lord,
whether it be night or day
direct me in Your light
onto the everlasting way.
Keep exploring me Lord,
keep looking deep within
bring me to repentance
over every hidden sin.
Keep guiding me Lord,
keep me on the right path
let me not fall onto the one
that brings eternal wrath.
Keep evaluating me Lord,
keep discovering in me
any pride, greed or lust
in which, You still can see.
Keep searching me Lord,
put me under the spotlight
till all of the wickedness
in me, You highlight!

God has supernatural hearing,
He can hear what’s in your heart
He can tell the words forming
in your mind before they start.
He can hear the true intentions,
of what you’re going to say
He knows when pride and ego
are about to get in the way.
God listens to every thought,
to each word you consider
He pays close attention
to the ones harsh and bitter.
God has supernatural hearing,
He hears us before we speak
He knows that our thoughts
are not often tongue in cheek!

I make no excuses,
no false pretense
I am just a sinner
I have no defense.
Born of rebellion,
conceived in sin
envy and spite
were my closest kin.
Dead in trespasses,
deceitful to the core
greed and pride oozed
out of every pore.
Disobedient to God,
just like in Eve’s story
wickedness and evil
stole all of His glory.
I make no excuse,
a sinner ~ that I am
but, I’ve been saved

Examine me dear Lord,
see through my disguise
tear away the mask
expose the lust in my eyes.
Examine me dear Lord,
test my mind and my heart
point out the inner flaws
keeping us apart.
Examine me dear Lord,
pull back the veil on my sin
show me where my pride

uncover my selfish acts
all that is needless.

I want to be humble,

I want a still place
for my heart to abide.
I want to be trusting,

I want my faith to be

I want to be grateful

True love does not boast,
it’s not embedded with pride
love that is forthright
hasn’t anything to hide.
It is not offensive,
carefully it chooses its words
it’s pleasing and uplifting
joy and happiness it stirs.
It doesn’t act haughty,
or say things causing pain
love that is agape . . .
has nothing for it to gain.
Love that comes from Jesus,
is filled with truth and light
love that is not self-seeking
is pleasing in God’s sight!

Lord, today I looked in the mirror,
and I didn’t like what I saw
for I looked past my wrinkles
and saw my spiritual flaws.
All that I could see,
was my selfishness and pride
from the yuck and ugliness
I couldn’t run and hide.
When will I ever learn,
to put others first . . .
Lord, how much longer
till my ego, will You burst.
My self-importance,
is haughtiness evil twin
and arrogance and conceit
to You, is just plain sin.
Lord, today I looked in the mirror,
I witnessed what others see
and I’m sad to say it’s a far cry . . .
of Your image inside me!

Don’t boast about tomorrow,
or brag about today
don’t plan your course of action
or go off in your own way.
Don’t say I will do this,
or try a little bit of that
don’t show off your deeds
or give yourself a pat.
For arrogance to the Lord,
is really just a sin
for all that you accomplish
it’s all rubbish if not for Him.
But if you seek God’s will first,
He will lead you from here on
for your life is but a vapor
and one day . . .
it’ll just vanish and be gone!

James 4:13-17
King James Version
“Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow
we will go into such a city, and continue
there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:
Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow.
For what is your life? It is even a vapour,
that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will,
we shall live, and do this, or that.
But now ye rejoice in your boastings:
all such rejoicing is evil.
Therefore to him that knoweth to do good,
and doeth it not, to him it is sin.”

teach me to have a meek attitude
take from me, my selfish pride

remove the smugness on my face

Be slow in your anger,
be slow to show your wrath
for you are called to peace
with self-control as your path.
Be not puffed up with pride,
be not filled with malice
for you are called to be gentle
not thick-skinned and callous.
Put off all bitterness and hate,
put off what’s boiling inside you
for you are called to temperance
in all that you say and do.
Take off that old sinful man,
take off the old wicked nature
for you are called in His love
not conflict and heated wager.
Let not the sun set on your anger,
let it not go down on your wrath
for God is leading you away from

be tenderhearted and forgiving
for Jesus is God’s only example

let me take no pleasure

pleasing in Your sight.
Help me to be meek,

I have walked on this earth,
for many, many years . . .
I’ve stumbled and I’ve fallen
over my doubts and my fears.
Many times I have thought,
another step I could not take
and life’s troubling journey
I just did not want to make.
I struggled with the frantic pace,
I wrestled with the anxious stride
until the day, I came to realize
I was marching to my own pride.
I knew I needed deliverance,
from the course that I was on
and that is when I felt my life
to God being forever drawn.
He set me on a new path,
and saved me from the pit
He found me not guilty
and my sins, He did acquit!

Some Christians are like “Black Holes,”
they only draw in the light
they can’t see their own darkness
for they always think they are right.
They say they read and study,
their Bibles almost every day
but when no one is looking
their hearts from God are far away.
They believe they are righteous,
there isn’t anything they can’t do
but these “Black Holes” drain the light
right out of people like me and you.
They look as if they’re glowing,
from the wisdom they’ve acquired
and think everyone around them
should be . . . oh, so inspired.
Jesus called us to shed His light,
and His Spirit will show us how . . .
but these “Black Holes” in our lives
think their holier than thou!

Experience needed,
in both greed and pride
looking for those
eager to be My bride.
Seeking those skillful,
in lying, murder, and stealing
looking for those
who need a spiritual healing.
Knowledge appreciated,
in selfishness and conceit
looking for those
who need a Savior to meet.
Practice in immorality,
isn’t the only must
looking for those
who want to conquer every lust.

Oh, conflicted soul be quieted,
don’t you know it’s for naught
battles won ~ battles lost
are lessons to be taught.
To the youth, as you once were,
the fight today is still the same
just a different time in space
with a new and modern name.
Speak the truth, do not deny,
the war that goes on and on
from generation to generation
or else the conflict won’t be won.
Rebellion is the ammunition,
pride and greed the smoking gun
tis the same war against the Lord
as when the world first begun.
Lead the way, light the path,
guide the youth before they turn
to the world for their escape
lest in hell ~ they shall burn!

There is a road most traveled on,
I see plenty of people on it today
you too may know of it . . .
for it leads to spiritual decay.
It is as wide as it is long,
it’s paved with greed and pride
and those who travel on it
are arrogant, smug and snide.
Satan has smoothed the way,
with lust and every immorality
and the throngs gladly follow
for it is the “New Age” reality.
On their journey they take along,
their love for ungodly things
and if you get in their way
animosity at you, they will fling.
Sadly, our country is on this road,
and its leading to total devastation
you too may know of it . . .
for it’s in the Book of Revelation!

What is this wild thing,
that my mouth has inside
what causes it to lash about
in its smugness and its pride?
How can it sing praises to God,
then chant ~ its curses to man
what is this wild thing . . .
that says whatever it thinks it can?
What causes it to be so untamed,
without a bridle or a rein
what can I do to control this thing
that has its own heart and brain?
Why does it speak such evil,
and at times act out so bad
what is this wild thing . . .
that gets so angry and mad?
Who can restrain this unruly thing,
that is filled with poison and fire
who can tame this beastly thing
that’s filled with worldly desire?
What is this unruly thing,
that my mouth has inside
what causes it to lash about . . .
other than my own selfish pride!
