Be Not Downcast ~

Don’t be discouraged,
be not overly concerned
for while you’re waiting
there’s much to be learned.

For waiting brings about,
lessons of obedience
so that you may have
for Jesus a radiance.

Don’t be disheartened,
be not too disquieted
God is not done with you
His work isn’t completed.

For He has a lot of things,
He has to remold in you
so while you sit and wait
let go and let God do.

how to have faith steadfast!

Encouragement Needed ~

We all need encouragement,
on this journey we call life
we all need a stretched out hand
to help us with our daily strife.

For it can be a painful trip,
if we don’t help one another
for the tough times are easier
when they are done together.

We all need some motivation,
on this voyage to get to heaven
we all need an inspiration boost
when our heart’s are down laden.

For it can be a weary trek,
without having some backing
to help us get over the bumps
when our own faith is lacking.

We all need encouragement,
as we make our journey here
we all need motivation . . .
until the final trump we hear!

Jesus Opens Hearts ~

Jesus opens hearts,
and doors too . . .
He knows where to look
for you and you.

You cannot hide,
behind your wall
He knows your name
you’ll hear His call.

You may run,
but, He’s ahead of you
you may be unfaithful
but, His love is true.

You might wander,
and go astray
but, He will find you
again one day.

He will never, ever,
let you go
the way back to Him
He’ll gladly show.

For, He opens doors,
He’ll hear you knock
and when you return . . .
Jesus will be your Rock!

Only One Thing To Do~

The past is gone,
can’t bring it back
for our mistakes . .
we musn’t keep track.

For we all error,
slip-up and fumble
we all teeter
stagger and stumble.

The past is over,
it we must forget
and give to God
all that we regret.

For we’re all broken,
chipped and marred
we’re all injured
damaged and scarred.

The past is history,
only one thing to do
is Lord to keep on . . .
pressing into You!

The Ocean’s Shore ~

As I stroll along,
the ocean’s shore
I feel blessed
to my very core.

Though I don’t know,
the water’s depth
I’m sure the Lord guides
my every step.

As I listen to,
the waves that roar
I trust God’s Spirit
over storms to soar.

Just like the warm sand,
and cool sea must meet
I know God’s the strength
beneath my feet.

And like a pebble,
in the soft sand
my faith can’t be crushed
by the foot of man.

As I watch the eagles,
land on the dock
I too find safety . . .
in the Lord, my Rock!

An Appointment with God ~

Every disappointment,
is with God an appointment
so He can bless you with . . .
hope and encouragement.

Every heartbreak,
is a chance to find His love
each sorrow besetting you
is a date with God above.

Every hardship,
is a reason to be still
each trial coming your way
is a means to know His will.

Every nervous thought,
is a time to give God your fear
each anxious feeling you have
is a chance to draw Him near.

Every day is an appointment,
with God you need to make
each day is an engagement
with God you need to take!

Keep Focused ~

When you can’t see,
the road ahead
and the unknown
fills you with dread.

Keep your focus,
on Jesus fiercely
and through His eyes
you’ll see more clearly.

When you can’t decide,
which way to go
and your anxiety
begins to show.

Keep your faith,
in Jesus wholly
and He will show you
the way holy.

When you can’t make,
the right choice . . .
and you can’t hear
your inner voice.

We All Have Bouts ~

We all have difficulties,
some frailties, some weakness
we all have bouts . . .
of despair and bleakness.

We all have limitations,
some mental, some physical
we all have bouts . . .
of feeling measly pitiful.

We all have challenges,
some prolonged, some brief
we all have bouts . . .
of sadness and grief.

We all have deficiencies,
some flaws, some cracks
we all have bouts . . .
of feeling out of whack.

But we who have Jesus,
all things can overcome
because we know just where
our power comes from!

To Be That Person ~

We all need someone,
to lift us up when down
a special person
who is always around.

We all need an ear,
on which to rely
we all need a shoulder
to lay our heads and cry.

We all need a friend,
in which to run to
we all need a supporter
to help get us through.

We all need Jesus,
to encourage us
to be that person
someone else can trust.

We all need someone,
some times, some way
we all need each other
to lift us up and pray!

Tender-Loving Care ~

When your pain,
is too much to bear
and you need some
tender-loving care.

Know that God,
is there for you
and will your pain
ease and soothe.

When you’re beat,
and broken down
and it’s too hard
to move around.

Know that God,
will strengthen you
and your weariness
He will lessen too.

or open up your eyes

Jesus Will Console You ~

When heavy on your heart,
is your every care . . .
as they become too much
for you alone to bear.

Know Jesus will bring you,
comfort and relief
and console you through
all that’s causing your grief.

When hefty on your mind,
are worrisome thoughts
as they set out to bind
your faith into knots.

Know Jesus will bring you,
great comfort and good cheer
as He consoles you through

Opt For Joy ~

 

Opt for joy,
it will not disappoint
if you do
it’ll be a turning point.

For joy always brings,
a sense of relief
as you give to Jesus
the cause of your grief.

Prefer joyfulness,
over being downtrodden
let the love of Jesus
make your smile broaden.

For happiness is a choice,
each day we can make
and rejoicing in the Lord
will cause a grin to break.

Choose joy,
you’ll be happier if you do
then just watch what Jesus  . . .
is willing to do for you!

High Upon A Rock ~

When tragedy comes,
catching you off guard
when the aftermath of grief
hits you cold and hard.

Know that God is near,
to the brokenhearted
and the crushed in spirit
He will keep safe-guarded.

When from out of nowhere,
disaster strikes you down
and it affects are felt
by every one around.

Know that God is a shelter,
a safe harbor and refuge
someone you can turn to
whenever under a deluge.

When tragedy and disaster,
come to your door and knock
know God will lift you up
and set you high upon the Rock!

Not All Mother’s Are Happy Today ~

Not all mother’s,
are happy on this day
some their only child
has sadly passed away.

Other’s are forgotten,
it’s as if their were dead
these heart-wrenching words
their child, actually has said.

Some mother’s are alone,
from their children they’re apart
the miles between them
tug at her aching heart.

Other’s are heartbroken,
as their children seem aloof
there will be no gathering
today under her roof.

Not all mother’s,
are happy on this day
so please be kind to them
as you go about your way!

I am happy for you,

Throwing In The Towel ~

Some days I feel like quitting,
just throwing in the towel
some days I don’t want to think
of another rhyming vowel.

Some days it’s so hard,
putting words into rhyme
some days I feel as if . . .
I’m just wasting my time.

But, then I read my Bible,
and the verses seem to jump
helping me to get over
my poetry writing slump.

For, God keeps telling me,
to continue, to carry on
how I need to keep doing
what I know He has begun.

Some days I feel like quitting,
blogging how and what I feel
but, then God encourages me
and restores my rhyming zeal!

We Are All Wounded ~

We are all wounded,
from the battles of life
we all carry with us
scars from the strife.

We have all suffered,
the pain of depression
each of us has felt
the sting of rejection.

We are all wounded,
damaged in some way
we all carry with us
the hurts of yesterday.

We all need healing,
from the harm done
we all need someone
to whom we can run.

We are all wounded,
in need of comforting
we all need Jesus . . .
to ease our suffering!

A Little Show of Mercy ~

A little show of mercy,
can go a long, long way
a little bit of kindness
can brighten someone’s day.

An act of thoughtfulness,
can bring someone a smile
an unselfish deed done
can go beyond that extra mile.

A helping hand can stretch,
beyond another’s need
a joyful giver can sow
into others a cheerful seed.

A heart full of grace,
can make all the difference
a cheerful, happy face
can hardly meet resistance.

A little show of mercy,
can go a long, long way
it doesn’t take too much
