I was born into the family of God when I was ten years old and have rededicated my life almost every day since. I believe my walk with the Lord, is step-by-step, hour-by-hour, and sometimes minute-by-minute.
Each day, I press on towards the goal in front of me, to be more like Jesus, but I often fail.
By His grace and mercy, I can always count on Jesus to pick me up and set me back on His path. One day, I know I will be perfect and my walk with Him will be as it should, but until I see Him in heaven . . . I just keep on keeping on . . .
Thank you for reading my poetry. I pray God will use it to speak to those who are in need of the words He inspires me with and that God will bless you and guide you into all of His truths.
in Him,
Deborah Ann
Not as though I had already attained,
either were already perfect: but I
follow after, if that I may apprehend
that for which also I am apprehended
of Christ Jesus.
Brethren, I count not myself to have
apprehended: but this one thing I do,
forgetting those things which are behind,
and reaching forth unto those things
which are before,
I press toward the mark for the prize
of the high calling of
God in Christ Jesus.

Hello Deborah, thank you for this beautiful poetry. This Sunday I’ll be preaching on Ps 23:2 “He leads me beside still waters.” Because of the pandemic we are currently recording our worship and then live streaming it.
I’m wondering if I could read your poem “Those Still Waters” beside a small stream feature at our church and then have the camera focus on the stream for about a minute. I would be a great blessing to St Paul Presbyterian Church in Johnston, Iowa, where I serve.

Hi Deborah,
You’ve been a blessing to me esp. your peotry on 1 Peter 5:7, very timely and it relates to me and other people for sure. I just started writing songs for my local Church music group (here in the Philippines).. can we please use your poetry as lyrics of songs? Thanks for being a blessing, keep on encouraging the body for God’s glory.

All is well here and yes “God has my back” and every other part of me as He carries me through most days. It is amazing what He has done in my life since I lost my son, and I am in awe of His love and grace for me, for without it who knows where I would be emotionally. I do pray He too is working in your life and that He blesses you with everything that is good about Him. Hello Deborah Thank you for your reply- sorry it has taken this long to make contact. I have enjoyed the beautiful song- Putting On The New Man! Sounds amazing. Life here in Queensland is not without challenges but because I experience God’s faithfulness and grace I have hope. We don’t do Thanksgiving. I have to make an effort for Christmas as I don’t cope with the commercial slant. We have just received some much needed ground drenching rain. Hopefully this Summer will be less dry than the past 2 years. We get our rain in the Summer here. I trust that you and all of your family have a blessed Christmas and that you don’t get too exhausted in the process. I love reading your poetry every day- thank you so very much – love Deborah.

I was challenged in many ways. We had gone to visit some children who were orphaned as a result of a typhoon. They live in a slum area. One lady(now a new friend) told me that she had been praying for 2 years for me to visit her. I was unaware of that before I met her. My Husband had gone there back in 2011. I do not know why I went but I am sure that God knows! God bless you exceedingly and abundantly love Deborah.

Love your site. I appreciate your attention to detail in the presentation. Your content is second to none !. The reality of your relationship with Jesus is very evident. You are truly one whom the river flows through !.
Keep writing…the world needs you !.
(by the way, the link to “fellowship of christian bloggers” seems to be a dead link at the moment).
Thanks

Deb,
I don’t know if you’re aware of this or not, but each month, I write a post called Share the Love, where I feature someone else’s blog, sharing it with my readers, so that they can come and check out that person’s blog. I always wait for the person the Lord places on my heart, and He’s placed you and your blog on my heart to feature July 1. Please check out this link, which describes my vision for Share the Love:
http://burningfireshutinmybones.wordpress.com/share-the-love/
My email address is cshowers@live.com. Please send me an email and let me know if you woud allow me to Share the Love with you this month. Also, I would need to know which of all the posts you have shared is your favorite, so I can share it, and if you’d like to share what led you to start this blog, that would be great as well. I look forward to hearing from you soon, as I need to begin working on it as soon as possible.
Many blessings and much love to you,

I’m also a goof ball for leaving Renee’s name on that above! I invited her and you and couple other bloggers that I interact with regularly. So I copied it and personalized it to you (since I love your poetry!!) but left her name on it.
My brain!! Too full!! Haha!
Anyway… Yes your poetry is inspiring me to write some again!
God bless you sweet lady!!

🙂 my brain isn’t just too full at times it feels as if it has released itself of being such a burned on my soul . . . and it just stops working! But, the good Lord puts it back into service . . . for Him. Looking forward to receiving your emails and seeing some of your poetry . . . I bet it will be AWESOME!

Thank you so much for your kind words. When I write a poem I ask the Lord to let it bless at least one person. If just one soul can find peace, or joy, or hope in their words than I know they came from the Lord and not from me. ~ Blessings ~

Thank you so much! But, I have made my blog a “No Award” zone. I have received many awards in my life, hung them on my wall proudly displaying my accomplishments for all to see. But, God had me take them down . . .telling me to focus in on the rewards in heaven instead. So my walls are bare, my blog is awardless and who knows what treasures await me. ~ Blessings ~
