Past Sins ~

When your conscience,
plays with your mind
to see what past sins
it can go and find.

Don’t allow satan,
your thoughts to attack
for your confessed sins
are thrown behind God’s back.

When your moral sense,
of what’s right and wrong
satan starts to mess with
remain in Jesus strong.

For satan’s best disguise,
is the angel of light . . .
so He can confuse you when
with temptation you fight.

When your conscience,
starts to beat up on you
know that Jesus is greater

The helmet of salvation,
we need to wear everyday

satan will begin to sway.

For, we need our minds,
protected with God’s Word

with the truth we’ve heard.

will safeguard all of us
from satan destroying
in God our faith and trust.

For our hope in believing,

The Shield Of Faith ~

Each day there’s a conflict,
that we need to fight . . .
a battle that’s between
the dark and the light.

But, before we go out,
onto the battle field
we must make sure
we are wearing our shield.

For, the shield of faith,
our hearts will protect
as satan’s fiery arrows
He begins at us to eject.

We will need to stand firm,
lest one may hit its mark
and turn our light for Jesus
into barely but a spark.

That Old Man ~

Sometimes that old man,
sneaks his way back in
for our souls he wants
to repossess and win.

So he taunts us with our past,
dangling in front of us
the delights we once found
in our former worldly lusts.

He tells us we needn’t be,
so committed to God’s Word
that we can still find delight
if the truth could be blurred.

He tantalizes us with things,
once giving us such pleasure
telling us they’re more rewarding
then our heavenly treasure.

Sometimes that old man,
in our lives creeps back in
but we who are saved . . .
know he is all about the sin!

Satan’s Tool Of Fear ~

There is a harmful tool,
satan loves to use . . .
for our minds he wants
to daze and confuse.

It plants it ugly seeds,
of unbelief and doubt
so God’s plans for us
we cannot figure out.

He daily uses this tool,
on everyone of us . . .
for in God he doesn’t want
for us to put our trust.

It causes bewilderment,
and muddles up the mind
so God’s ways are harder
for us to go out and find.

He wants us to be anxious,
to load us down with care
so that we will think
Jesus our worries won’t bear.

This tool is called fear,
it’s satan’s favorite one
but if we submit to God
the devil will flee and run!

When your life turns into,

when all you see is chaos
as you look at yourself inward.

That’s when you need to stop,

for the trust that you lack.

Spiritual shortsightedness,
is at a high

There is a battle brewing,
we need to be clear-headed
we must fix our minds on Jesus
so by fear we’re not tormented.

Our adversary is like a lion,
he is looking to devour
our faith and trust in God
by zapping us of our power.

He’s roaming all-around,
he’s as hungry and he is fierce
he is a greedy pursuer
looking for souls he can pierce.

He is filling our minds with lies,
for he is the grand accuser
he is aiming at our hearts
for he is the great seducer.

He is malicious in his pursuit,
he stalks us night and day
he is restless in his hounding
he lets nothing get in his way.

Our purser is the devil himself,
and to him we must be aware . . .

Adjusting My Armor ~

Sometime my armor,
needs to be adjusted . . .
for with inattentiveness
it starts to get encrusted.

So with the Word of God,
my whole armor I lubricate
and with faithfulness
I grease up my breastplate.

Sometimes my armor,
needs fortification . . .
for I start to lose for God
my heartfelt appreciation.

So I take all the Verses,
enriched with gratitude
and enshroud my helmet
with a praise filled attitude.

Sometime my armor,
gets bent all out of shape . . .
so I apply the Gospel of Truth
so from satan I may escape.

I straighten up my shield,
with steadfast faith and trust
so when his fiery darts hit me . . .
my armor will not combust!

Abiding in these last times,
takes walking in the Light
so to be able to see . . .
all the evil forces we fight.
