The Whole Armor of God ~

The whole armor of God,
we must each day wear
if we’re to survive . . .
life’s daily wear and tear.

For without God’s strength,
satan we can’t fight
unless we lay hold of
the power of His might.

The whole armor of God,
we must each day put on
unless to the devil’s wiles
we find ourselves drawn.

For, without God’s protection,
we’ll fall for his trickery
and over our lives
he will have the victory.

The whole armor of God,
we must each day get into
so that satan’s fiery arrows
our faith can’t breakthrough.

For the world is evil,
and the day’s are perilous
making our adversary . . .
ever more dangerous!

the lies satan tells

Listening To My Spirit ~

My mind says I can,
my body says no way
and so I end up doing . . .
nothing for the day.

For, my body fights my mind,
telling it is way too old
and my mind resigns
to what it’s being told.

My flesh it is willing,
but my Spirit isn’t in it
and so to neither one
do I fully commit.

For my flesh is weak,
though it thinks it’s strong
but, my Spirit tells it . . .
just how much it’s wrong.

My mind says to my flesh,
go ahead and do it . . .
but, that’s not what I hear
when I listen to my Spirit!

Prepare your mind for action,
lest you be thunderstruck
and to satan you become

for satan is always out to

to be vexed and harassed.

practice having self-control
for satan is out to get

If you really want,
the devil to flee . . .
the closer to God
you will need to be.

For to resist his lies,
you will need a defense
before his fiery darts
begin to commence.

to take up a stance
put on your full armor
before you advance.

making it hard
for you to defeat.

If you want to build,
up a resistance
you’ll need to ask God
for His assistance!

a foothold in your door.

Lord may Your word dwell,
deep within my heart

Flexing Your Faith Muscle ~

There is no temptation,
no trap, no snare, no lure
that satan won’t use on you
so your soul he can secure.

He will throw out anything,
that he thinks will entice you
and he knows before hand
just what He has to do.

But, God has promised us,
whenever we are tempted
our prayers for help . . .
will be by Him intercepted.

For there’s is no enticement,
that’s not common to all of man
God knows what we can bear
and He has for us an exit plan.

So, next time satan tempts you,
and he tries to confuse or perplex
just rely on the Lord’s strength
then let your faith muscle flex!

A Sound Defeat ~

The battle with the enemy
will be easier to beat . . .
if we put our trust in Jesus
and leave the battle at His feet.

For we must go to Him,
and give to Him the fight
so He can lead us onward
in the power of His might.

As the battle continues,
He’ll be our strength and Rock
protecting our front and back
until the devil starts to balk.

He will provide for us a refuge,
a fortress and a safe place
He will defend and deliver us
put a hedge around our base.

The battle with the enemy,
will be easier to beat
if we just let Jesus . . .

When your conscience,
plays with your mind
to see what past sins
it can go and find.

Don’t allow satan,
your thoughts to attack
for your confessed sins
are thrown behind God’s back.

When your moral sense,
of what’s right and wrong
satan starts to mess with

For satan’s best disguise,
is the angel of light . . .
so He can confuse you when

The helmet of salvation,
we need to wear everyday
or else the way we think
satan will begin to sway.

For, we need our minds,
protected with God’s Word
so that satan doesn’t mess
with the truth we’ve heard.

The helmet of salvation,
will safeguard all of us
from satan destroying
in God our faith and trust.

For our hope in believing,
in the things not seen

satan will start to glean.

abiding deep within.

satan up and flee

Each day there’s a conflict,
that we need to fight . . .
a battle that’s between
the dark and the light.

But, before we go out,
onto the battle field
we must make sure
we are wearing our shield.

For, the shield of faith,
our hearts will protect
as satan’s fiery arrows
He begins at us to eject.

We will need to stand firm,
lest one may hit its mark
and turn our light for Jesus
into barely but a spark.

That Old Man ~

Sometimes that old man,
sneaks his way back in
for our souls he wants
to repossess and win.

So he taunts us with our past,
dangling in front of us
the delights we once found
in our former worldly lusts.

He tells us we needn’t be,
so committed to God’s Word
that we can still find delight
if the truth could be blurred.

He tantalizes us with things,
once giving us such pleasure
telling us they’re more rewarding
then our heavenly treasure.

Sometimes that old man,
in our lives creeps back in
but we who are saved . . .
know he is all about the sin!

Satan’s Tool Of Fear ~

There is a harmful tool,
satan loves to use . . .
for our minds he wants
to daze and confuse.

It plants it ugly seeds,
of unbelief and doubt
so God’s plans for us
we cannot figure out.

He daily uses this tool,
on everyone of us . . .
for in God he doesn’t want
for us to put our trust.

It causes bewilderment,
and muddles up the mind
so God’s ways are harder
for us to go out and find.

He wants us to be anxious,
to load us down with care
so that we will think
Jesus our worries won’t bear.

This tool is called fear,
it’s satan’s favorite one
but if we submit to God
the devil will flee and run!

A Spiritual Spiral ~

When your life turns into,
a spiritual spiral downward
when all you see is chaos
as you look at yourself inward.

That’s when you need to stop,
whatever you are doing
and after God’s will for you
begin to start pursuing.

When your faith flounders,
don’t let your life fall back
instead turn to Jesus
for the trust that you lack.

For Jesus will be there,
to give His strength to you
and bless you with the power
for everything you must do.

Spiritual shortsightedness,
is at a high
for satan has deceived
many an eye.

Eyes that once saw,

is out of control

doctrine firm and sound
