A Joyful Heart ~

A joyful heart,
is a good thing . . .
when life’s hardships
begin to burn and sting.

It will lift you up,
when you are down
it’ll help you to mend
heal and rebound.

A joyful heart,
is a good feature
it is one of life’s
adversity teachers.

It will show you how,
to rejoice and sing
when tests and trials
to you life brings.

A joyful heart,
is a cure all . . .
when you let praise
from your lips fall!

Count it all for joy,
each trial you go through
give it not a second thought
then watch what God will do.

Count it all for joy,
when tested for your belief
patience will be your reward
and His peace your relief.

Count it all for joy,
as He performs His work in you
let His perfection complete
and make you someone new.

Count it all for joy,
lest you be tossed about
seek by faith all your needs
and in God never doubt.

Count it all for joy,
for His wisdom is yours to gain
ask believing without fear
and in your life He will reign.

Count it all for joy,
no matter your despair
let His love fill you up . . .
and your life He’ll repair!

We All Face Trials ~

We all face trials,
of many different kinds
some attack our bodies
others beset our minds.

Some assault our faith,
causing us to doubt
some assail our trust
tossing us all about.

We all have troubles,
just different situations
we all have suffered . . .
from diverse temptations.

Some know the results,
of falling for Satan’s lies
other’s feel the effects
of sin and compromise.

We all face trials,
hardships of all kinds
but, we won’t be defeated
if we let joy fill out minds!

Trials All Around ~

Trials, trials are all around,
don’t know when they’ll come
but, we can be sure of this . . .
there’ll be more than just some.

Trials, here and everywhere,
arrive in all sizes and shapes
don’t matter if big or small
from them there’s no escape.

Trials, early in the morning,
testings through the afternoon
tribulations in the evening
anytime is ripe and opportune.

Trials, putting us to the test,
trying our faith in every way
hardship, suffering, adversity
looming over us every day.

Trials, trials are all around,
they’re coming for each of us
but, with Jesus and determination
they cannot destroy our trust!

Test Me Lord ~

Test me Lord,
let me prove to You
that my faith . . .
will keep shining through.

Search me Lord,
look deep down inside
remove any doubt
what’s left of my pride.

Try me Lord,
let me show to You
that I will keep trusting
regardless of what You do.

Pursue me Lord,
teach me perseverance
give me the patience
no matter the experience.

Test me Lord,
examine all my ways
let me prove to You . . .

Strength of Character ~

It’s easy to be appreciative,
when all is going well
when there is no conflict
upon which to dwell.

But, when times get tough,
we often aren’t thankful
our attitudes don’t reflect
the reasons we are grateful.

It’s in the storms of life,
where we can learn to start
how to grow and develop
gratefulness in our heart.

So when taken off course,
don’t think of it as a detour
be thankful God is creating
in you, strength of character!
