Oh, What A Vision ~

Oh what a vision,
oh, what a sight
now that I see
all in God’s light.

Oh, what a promise,
oh, what a story
I can hardly imagine
God in all His glory.

Oh, what a future,
oh, what a plan
now that my life
is in God’s hand.

Oh, what an approach,
oh, what a strategy
I can hardly imagine
Jesus’ full majesty.

Oh, what a vision,
oh, how I can’t wait
to enter through . . .
that narrow gate!

1 Corinthians 2:9

“But as it is written,
Eye hath not seen,
nor ear heard,
neither have entered
into the heart of man,
the things which God
hath prepared for them
that love him.”

Sticky Note From God ~02.21.18~

Cling ~

Cling
when you’re heart
is broken
Cling
when no words
can be spoken.

Cling
when you’re downcast
and depressed
Cling
when you’re troubled
and harassed.

Cling
when you’re stricken
and afflicted
Cling
when you’re confused
and conflicted.

Cling
when you’re defeated
and overburdened
Cling
when you’re weak
and disheartened.

Cling
when you’re worried
and tormented
Cling
when you’re restless
and discontented.

Cling
when you’re feeling
sad and blue
Cling
when you don’t know . . .
what else to do!

A Marathon To Run ~

I have entered,
a marathon
and my eyes
are set upon . . .

To run with grace,
and perseverance
to not let sin
be an interference.

To go for the goal,
to push, to strain
so my reward
I’ll be able to gain.

To be faithful,
to the very end
to with this world
not be its friend.

To stay the course,
to claw, to fight
to win the battle
with God’s might.

To be peculiar,
to finish well
lest for eternity
I’ll spend in hell.

 I’ve entered a marathon,
I am racing toward . . .
the day I will meet Jesus
my Savior and Lord!

~~~~~~~~
Hebrews 12:1-2
“Wherefore seeing we
also are compassed about
with so great a cloud of witnesses,
let us lay aside every weight,
and the sin which doth
so easily beset us,
and let us run with patience
the race that is set before us,
Looking unto Jesus the author
and finisher of our faith;
who for the joy that was set
before him endured the cross,
despising the shame,
and is set down at the
right hand of the throne of God.
Danger Ahead ~
Life is full of danger,
challenges galore
problems too impossible
for us to ignore.
But, we who trust in God,
you’ll not see gloomy
for God is our refuge
when life gets stormy.
Life is full of perils,
hazards abounding
worries that leave
our hearts pounding.
But, we who trust in God,
rise over them and sing
for we have found our joy
in the strength He brings.
Life is full of risks,
unsafe and dangerous
but, we who trust in God
are always victorious!
~~~~~~~~

Psalm 5:11

“But let all those that put
their trust in thee rejoice:
let them ever shout for joy,
because thou defendest them:
let them also that love
thy name be joyful in thee.”

This is My Savior ~

This is My Savior ~ CHRIStian poetry by deborah ann

This is my Savior,
He can be yours too
if you’d only let Him
work inside of you.

He will instruct you,
show you the way
He will bring light
to your darkest day.

He will make you,
into someone new
your every thought
He will renew.

This is my Savior,
He wants to be yours too
oh, just you watch
the things He can do.

He will bring you joy,
amidst your pain
in Him there’s no loss
only endless gain.

He will be there,
when your all alone
He has ready for you
an eternal home.

He is your strength,
when you’re weak
and His salvation
He wants you to seek.

God is my Savior,
He can be yours too
if you’d just let Jesus
dwell inside of you!

In His Presence ~

Lord, when in Your presence
there is joy in all its fullness
filled with eternal glee
and everlasting happiness.

Lord, when we communicate,
in the talks we have together
there is a fountain of hope
for all the storms we weather.

Lord, when You’re near me,
in the Spirit within my heart
from your presence I never
want to leave or part.

Lord, when in the morning,
we meet and jointly pray
I know You will show me
the Life, the Truth, the Way.

Lord, in Your presence,
I feel a peaceful glow . . .
each day I spend with You
the more my joy grows!

“Thou wilt shew me the path of life:
in thy presence is fulness of joy;
at thy right hand there are pleasures
for evermore.”

Afternoon Ponderings ~02.07.18~

The Source of My Solace ~

God is the source,
of my solace . . .
for His loving-kindness
is perfect and flawless.

Whenever I need,
mercy anew
for me He always
pulls right through.

He sends me peace,
whenever I’m afflicted
consoles me with
a love unrestricted.

When more grace,
I need to get by
He sends it to me
without questioning why.

God is the source,
of my contentment
for He always brings
my soul refreshment.

And so to all of you,
my solace I pass along
so the God of our comfort
will too, make you strong!

~~~~~~~
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
” Blessed be God,
even the Father of our
Lord Jesus Christ,
the Father of mercies,
and the God of all comfort;
Who comforteth us
in all our tribulation,
that we may be able to
comfort them which are
in any trouble,
by the comfort wherewith
we ourselves are comforted of God.”
The Well of Life ~
When the well of life,
starts running dry
and you find yourself
wondering why.
For, not long ago,
it seemed to flow
with hope and joy
wherever you’d go.
But, now it trickles,
when at its best
draining from you
your peace and rest.
And now in your soul,
there is a deep thirst
causing your faith
to be at its worst.
That’s when you need,
from Jesus a refill . . .
so the waters of life
He can again instill!
~~~~~~~~~

John 4:14

“ But whosoever drinketh of the water
that I shall give him shall never thirst;
but the water that I shall give him shall
be in him a well of water springing
up into everlasting life.

His Shoulders ~

His shoulders,
my burden
His grace
my certain.

His pity,
my sin
His love
my win.

His peace,
my regret
His death
my debt.

His forethought,
my lack
His intercession
my back.

His shoulders,
my life
His sorrow
my strife!

2 Corinthians 5:21

“For he hath made him to be sin for us,
who knew no sin; that we might be made
the righteousness of God in him.”

A Broken Spirit ~

A broken spirit,
sin’s conviction
a life now rid
of its infliction.

A contrite heart,
pride’s rejection
a life now free
of its direction.

A humble mind,
greed’s ejection
a life now rid
of its reflection.

A soul repentant,
shames detection
a life now purged
of its condition.

A broken spirit,
humble and contrite
is a life no longer . . .
without His light!

Psalm 51:17

“The sacrifices of God
are a broken spirit:
a broken and a contrite heart,
O God, thou wilt not despise.”

Old Things Gone ~

Old things gone,
no more desire
for worldly wealth
to acquire.

No more need,
to seek greed out
satisfied now
to do without.

Old things dead,
no more pleasure
worldly practices
no longer treasure.

No more wants,
indulgences filled
to old thoughts
no longer thrilled.

Old things gone,
all things new
self removed . . .
Christ now in you!

~~~~~~~~~
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ,
he is a new creation.
The old has passed away;
behold, the new has come.
A Path Into My Heart ~
One day I heard a voice,
calling out to me . . .
it said if you follow
I will set you free.
Free from the struggle,
free from the strife
for I will lead you
to find eternal life.
The voice that I heard,
at first seemed so far away
but, as I listened
it grew closer everyday.
From out of the wilderness,
my soul it was beckoning
saying I’ve prepared a way
worth your pursuing.
So I made a path,
for Jesus into my heart
and ever since that day
we have never been apart!
~~~~~

Luke 3:4

“As it is written in the book
of the words of Esaias the prophet,
saying, The voice of one crying
in the wilderness, Prepare ye
the way of the Lord,
make his paths straight.”

“In all thy ways acknowledge him,
and he shall direct thy paths.”

Saved By The Blood ~

Saved By The Blood ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

No candle lit,
no religious rite
can save you from
your sinful plight.

No work or act,
nor any worldly deed
faith plus grace
is all you will need.

No song sung,
no musical band
can pull you out
of satan’s hand.

No fancy cathedral,
no religious ceremony
only God can soften
a heart that is stony.

No garment worn,
no posture stance
can give a soul
a dying chance.

Only the blood of Jesus,
can save your soul
everything else . . .
let not your heart control!

~~~~~~~
Titus 3:5
“Not by works of righteousness
which we have done,
but according to his mercy
he saved us, by the washing
of regeneration, and renewing
of the Holy Ghost;”
Written On My Heart ~
Oh Lord, may Your Word,
be written on my heart
so that from Your ways
I will not ever depart.
Oh Lord, may Your Word,
in my soul be embedded
so to the narrow gate
I’ll always be headed.
Oh, Lord may Your Word,
be my constant guide
so that with You in heaven
one day I will abide.
Oh Lord, may Your Word,
be my only light source
so I may be filled  . . .
with Your mighty force.
Oh Lord, may Your Word,
be imprinted on my mind
so if I should ever stray
the way back to You I’ll find!
that I might not sin against thee.”
The Sweet Smell of Grace ~
Oh Lord, Your Word,
to me is a fragrant garden
for in it there is life . . .
and the sweet smell of pardon.
Let me find my delight,
in the aroma of Your favor
to its blood-sweetened nectar
may my heart forever savor.
Oh Lord, Your Word,
opens up like a scented bloom
its beauty catches my breath
like a bride meeting her groom.
Let me find such a love.
in the bouquet of Your grace
to its saving aroma
may my heart always embrace.
O Lord, Your Word,
like incense it takes over my senses
for the sweet scent of a dying Savior
has pardoned all of my offenses!
~~~~~~

Psalm 119:103

” How sweet are thy words
unto my taste!
yea, sweeter than
honey to my mouth!”

One Day In Heaven ~

One Day In Heaven ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

One day in heaven,
we will have perfect rest
when with eternal life
we are finally blessed.

We’ll have rest from heartache,
from our every sorrow
rest from our labor
the worries of tomorrow.

We’ll have rest from pain,
every disease and illness
rest from death and dying
our own spiritual sickness.

We’ll have rest from suffering,
from all that causes stress
rest from our despair
our cares that hard press.

One day in heaven,
with peace we’ll be blessed
when with Jesus . . .
we eternally come to rest!

~~~~~~~~~~
Revelation 21:4
“And God shall wipe away all tears
from their eyes; and there shall be
no more death, neither sorrow,
nor crying, neither shall there
be any more pain: for the former
things are passed away.”
As The New Year Unfolds ~
As the old year departs,
and the new one arrives
let us all show our thanks
to the One who provides.
Let us all worship,
His almighty name
so to His goodness
our lips will proclaim.
As the calendar peals,
one page after another
let us all give praise
to our heavenly Father.
Let us all sing,
over each new season
lest we forget
the blessing of freedom.
As the new year unfolds,
and the old one leaves us . . .
with everything we’ve got
let’s not forget the One we trust!
~~~~~~~~

Psalm 103:1-2

“Bless the Lord, O my soul:
and all that is within me,
bless his holy name.

Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits:
