We All Have A Past ~

We all have a past,
filled with painful things
we all cringe . . .
at the memories they bring.

We all need to find,
God’s favor and grace
we all need God’s mercy
so the past we can face.

We all have feelings,
of resentment and ill-will
we all wince . . .
at how others make us feel.

We all need to find,
God’s healing peace
we all need God’s mercy
so our pain He can release.

We all have suffered,
the heartache of rejection
we all recoil . . .
when the past we mention.

We all need to find,
God’s way to forgiveness
we all need God’s mercy
so we can be rid of bitterness.

We all have a past,
filled with painful things
we all need God’s mercy
and the grace that it brings!

Hebrews 4:16

“Let us therefore come boldly
unto the throne of grace,
that we may obtain mercy,
and find grace to help
in time of need.”

God Get’s You ~

God gets you,
He knows what you’re all about
He sees into your heart
He knows you from the inside out.

God gets you,
He sees through all the layers
He knows what’s going on
for, He is an intention surveyor.

God gets you,
He has got you pegged
no matter how hard you try
you cannot pull His leg.

God gets you,
He knows your shortcomings
He knows that you have
over them some misgivings.

God gets you,
He can read you like a book
He tracks your every move
knows the wrong turns you took.

God gets you,
yet, He loves you anyway
for He understands you
in every single way!

Psalm 139:1-3

O lord, thou hast searched me,
and known me.

Thou knowest my downsitting
and mine uprising,
thou understandest my
thought afar off.

Thou compassest my path
nd my lying down, and art
acquainted with all my ways.”

The Microscope of Grace~

Under the microscope of grace,
God sees every imperfection
and we must open our hearts
for His divine inspection.

Through the lens of His mercy,
He can spot our hidden sin
and we must let Him search
ever so deep within.

His light will focus in on,
the darkness still  inside
and we must realize from Him
there’s nothing we can hide.

For, God looks for His Son’s image,
to be reflected back at Him . . .
and under the microscope of grace
He sees the heart harboring sin!

1 Corinthians 4:5
King James Version

“Therefore judge nothing
before the time,

until the Lord come,
who both will bring to light

the hidden things of darkness,
and will make manifest

the counsels of the hearts:
and then shall every
man have praise of God.”

Today’s Supply of Mercy ~

Today's Supply of Grace ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

Lord, a new day has come,
another one to face
and I know I can’t make it
without Your love and grace.

I’ll too need Your mercy,
if I am to stay strong
and please will You send me
some joy to take along.

But mostly give me peace,
throughout the day
so I can keep worry
and fear at bay.

And while You are at it,
there is one more thing
I need hope regardless
of what today may bring.

Lord, a new day has come,
one now, I’m ready to face . . .
because I know I’m supplied
with Your mercy, love and grace!

Lamentations 3:22

that we are not consumed,
because his compassions fail not.”

I Love God’s Mercy ~

I Love God's Mercy ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

I love God’s mercy,
I too, love His grace
for my faith and trust
on them I do base.

For where would I be,
if God didn’t send
Jesus to be . . .
my eternal Friend.

I love God’s mercy,
His grace, I love too
for each day my heart
they restore and renew.

For they bring me hope,
make all look bright
they give me strength
in the battles that I fight.

I love God’s mercy,
I too, love His grace
they are the reasons
my sins are erased.

For they have freed me,
from the pit of hell
tis why on both of them
I so often dwell!

be upon us, according
as we hope in thee.”

Seeking God’s Favor ~

Seeking God's Favor ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

Those who seek God’s favor,
before they start their day
find protection for their soul
as the go about their way.

Our early cries to God,
our morning meditation
are for our troubled soul
the best kind of medication.

Those who seek God’s mercy,
with a heart full of praise
find peace and tranquility
along life’s winding maze.

Our pleas for daily strength,
our prayers for our enemy
are our souls best defense
with an everlasting remedy.

Our requests to God,
our petitions for endurance
are for our thankful souls
a shield of assurance.

Those who seek God’s favor
in the early morning light
are the ones who are filled
with His power and His might!

Psalm 5:1-3

“Give ear to my words,
O Lord, consider my meditation.

Hearken unto the voice of my cry,
my King, and my God: for unto
thee will I pray.

My voice shalt thou hear
in the morning, O Lord;
in the morning will I direct
my prayer unto thee,
and will look up.”

Mercy’s Showers ~

Mercy Showers ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

Showers of mercy
fall on me each day
sprinkles of favor
on my soul spray.

Oh, I am grateful,
oh, how I’m blessed
as showers of mercy
on me, come to rest.

Healing and restoring,
hope, drips from above
droplets of God’s goodness
trickles of His love.

Oh, how I am thankful.
oh, I am blessed
when showers of mercy
on me, come to rest.

Compassion and pity,
downpours of sweet liberty
showers of redemption
cloud bursts of tranquility.

Oh, how I am thankful.
oh, I am blessed
as showers of mercy
on me, come to rest.

Showers of mercy,
each day to embrace
each drop a reminder . . .
of God’s gift of grace!

Without God’s Mercy ~

Without God's Mercy ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

Without God’s mercy,
I would be pitiful
without His favor
I would be miserable.

Without His compassion,
I wouldn’t be sympathetic
without His humbleness
I wouldn’t be apologetic.

Without God’s clemency,
I would be hopeless
without God’s patience
I would be useless.

Without His mildness,
I would not be forgiving
without His tenderness
I would not be accepting.

Without God’s mercy,
I would be deplorable
without His favor
I would be just horrible!

Colossians 3:12-13

“Put on therefore, as the elect of God
holy and beloved, bowels of mercies,
kindness, humbleness of mind,
meekness, longsuffering;

Forbearing one another, and forgiving
one another, if any man have a quarrel
against any: even as Christ forgave
you, so also do ye.”

Closer to God ~

Rest the Devil ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

The closer to God I am,
the more meek I need to be
the nearer to Him I get
the more He wants of me.

The faster I understand,
the quicker I can see
surrendering all to God
will make the devil flee.

The deeper I know God,
the greater is my sin
more serious are the ones
I’ve  hidden away from Him.

The earlier I can turn,
from being double-minded
the sooner I’ll not be
by Satan’s lies blind-sided.

The humbler I become,
the closer to God I get
the nearer to Jesus I am
the more my sins, I regret!

James 4:7-9

“Submit yourselves therefore to God.
Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.

Cleanse your hands, ye sinners;
and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep:
let your laughter be turned to mourning,
and your joy to heaviness.”

His Faithful Mercy ~

His Faithful Mercy ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann ~

Father, Your mercy,
well, it never fails
to all of my faults
it never pales.

It doesn’t backfire,
it never falls short
even if to Your ways
I sometimes abort.

Father, Your mercy,
fills up the ocean . . .
it stirs within my heart
Your undying devotion.

It never disappoints,
it will not let me down
it’s as if . . .
it follows me around.

Father, Your mercy,
is like the morning dew
for faithful each day . . .
it makes all things new!

Lamentations 3:23

“It is of the Lord’s mercies
that we are not consumed,
 because his compassions fail not.

They are new every morning:
 great is thy faithfulness.”

New Mercies ~

New Mercies ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann ~ Photo Creation Swap

New mercies each day,
fall from heaven above
sprinkles of eternal hope
raindrops of God’s love.

Showers of grace upon us,
from the skies they descend
with promises one day . . .
to heaven, we will ascend.

New mercies each day,
to replenish and restore
grace today sufficient
tomorrow, will rain more.

In our weaknesses,
new mercies God sends
to heal and to comfort
to repair and to mend.

New mercies each day,
from heaven they flood
washing our sins clean
in Jesus’ precious blood.

When to God we confess,
the disease of our sin
new mercies He sends
to cleanse us within.

New mercies each day,
God’s love showers on us
great is His faithfulness
to those who do trust!

Lamentations 3:22-24

“It is of the Lord’s mercies
that we are not consumed,

 because his compassions fail not.
They are new every morning:

great is thy faithfulness.
The Lord is my portion, saith my soul;

therefore will I hope in him.”

Lifting Up My Heart ~

Lift Up Your Heart ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

Lord, I lift up to You,
my heart and soul
I release unto You
complete control.

Come into my life,
seek and explore
search down deep
like never before.

Show unto me,
sin still un-confessed
then in Your mercy
let me, be blessed.

Pardon the errors,
of my rebellious ways
continue working in me
the rest of my days.

Lord, I lift my heart up,
my hands I raise . . .
to You my soul gives
all glory and praise!

Lamentations 3:40-42

“Let us search and try our ways,
and turn again to the Lord.

Let us lift up our heart with our hands
unto God in the heavens.

We have transgressed and have rebelled:
thou hast not pardoned.”

Full of Mercy and Grace ~

Full of mercy and grace,
overflowing with love
rich in long-suffering
is our Father, above.

Abundant is His devotion,
faithful in every way
compassionate for the lost
patient to all who stray.

Gracious beyond measure,
trustworthy to the very end
to all who hunger and thirst
life-giving waters He sends.

Steadfast is His kindness,
unselfish towards one and all
filled with eternal forgiveness
when on Jesus’ name we call.

Full of mercy, grace and love,
overflowing with tenderness
for, our Father in heaven . . .
is brimming with graciousness!

A Merry Heart ~

~ CHRISTian poetry by deborahann ~Your Grace is Sufficent - IBible Verses

Whenever you feel down,
whenever sad and blue
I’ve a dose of medicine
I know is good for you.

Take a cup of God’s mercy,
sip it throughout the day
it comes with a guarantee
to keep depression away.

God’s grace is a cure-all,
for all that is ailing you
it’s the antidote you need
on the days you are blue.

You will have true peace,
your heart will be merry
as you learn to trust Jesus
your burdens, He will carry.

Whenever feeling down,
let God’s mercy lift you up
with a dose of good cheer . . .
found in grace’s loving cup!

~ CHRISTian poetry by deborahnn ~ God Knows Everything -IBible Verses

Lord, you know our worries,
the cause of our fear
You know when to You
we are far or near.

You know our needs,
our have’s and have not’s
You know our desires
our deepest thoughts.

You know our goings,
all the in’s and out’s
You know when in You
we have our doubts.

You know our weakness,
our strength, You’re aware
You know when to You
we give our every care.

our outer parts too . . .
You know if we believe
and truly trust in You!

in His response time
He always has for me
a lot of spare time.

My God is reliable,
He is ready anytime

He is always on time
My God is steadfast
He works over time.

My God is good,
all of the time . . .

Joy in Mourning!

Tears by John Emery free photo #14718

Tonight, I’m purging my sorrow,
I am crying my last tear
I am not going to weep
for, I’ve nothing left to fear.

Thou there is darkness,
surrounding me tonight
tomorrow I will awake
to His marvelous light.

Tonight, I’m getting rid of,
all the pain that I feel
the grief I’ve bottled up
so my tears God can heal.

My sobbing He has noted,
they’re in His book of grace
tomorrow night there won’t be
any tears running off my face.

Tonight, I’m purging my sorrow,
I’ll not be crying in the morning
I am not going to weep . . .
for, joy has replaced my mourning!

Psalm 30:5

“For his anger endureth but a moment;
in his favour is life:
weeping may endure for a night,
but joy cometh in the morning.”

Shower Me With Mercy ~

rain ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann ~ photo from

Shower me with mercy,
rain on me Your grace
let Your love pour out
till Your heart I embrace.

Lead me to still waters,
where hope runs deep
let Your compassion
into my soul slowly seep.

Guide me in the valley,
when shadows are there
direct my heart to know
my burdens You’ll bear.

Let me lean on Your rod,
the staff of  harmony
make me to lie down
in fields of true intimacy.

Shower me with mercy,
let Your grace rain on me
send goodness’ downpour
till in heaven ~ we’ll be!

God is Patient ~

the_lord_isnt slow ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborahann ~ used with permission IBible verses

God is patient,
He has the time
to work out in us
the dirt and grime.

He uses His Word,
to cleanse within
so from our sins
we are forgiven.

God is unwearied,
He knows we’re blind
that’s why His Son
died for all mankind.

He desires not one,
of us to perish
each soul He loves
we all are cherished.

God is patient,
merciful too
He has the time . . .
what will you do?

2 Peter 3:9

“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise,
as some men count slackness;
but is longsuffering to us-ward,
not willing that any should perish,
but that all should come to repentance.”

God’s Abundant Mercy ~

MERCY ~ CHRISTian poetrybydeborahann

May you find God’s abundant mercy,
His peace and love for you
may you find His limitless grace
being multiplied in you too.

May you find God’s full strength,
through the storms of this life
may you find His healing touch
in the midst of your strife.

May you find God’s complete peace,
in the heaviness of your heart
may you find His great assurance
He will never leave or depart.

May you find God’s total renewal,
in the weariness of your days
may you find His powerful promise
to show you all of His ways.

May you find the full abundance,
of God’s infinite mercy and grace
may you find the hope of His peace
as the beauty of His love, you embrace!

Mercy Anew ~

New Day-New Mercy ~CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann ~ used with permission IBible Verses

Lord, You are my Rock,
my only safe harbor
in You, I can find rest
under mercy’s arbor.

Your great faithfulness,
shall never leave me
Your compassion comes
with this one guarantee . . .

When I rise in the morning,
You’ll always be there
with merciful hands
to take upon my cares.

You will be my hope,
as the sun appears
collecting in Your bottle
all of my nightly tears.

Lord, You are my portion,
I claim my stake in You
as I quietly seek . . .
Your mercy anew!

Lamentations 3:22-25
King James Version

that we are not consumed,

Why My Heart Sings ~

My heart shall not tremble,
though I have my fear . . .
my heart shall not shake
for my God, is always near.

My spirit calls on His name,
searches for His face
my spirit takes its cover
in the arms of grace.

My soul shall find rest,
as it learns how to soar
my soul shall be blessed
with His mercy evermore.

I shall trust in the Lord,
His strength I will seek
I shall trust in His power
to help when I’m weak.

To eternity I will abide,
under His mighty wings
forever with Him I’ll dwell
tis . . why my heart sings!

Psalm 91:1
King James Version

“He that dwelleth
in the secret place of the

most High shall abide
under the shadow of the Almighty.

Where Grace and Mercy Dwells ~

Wilderness by Steve Kirkeby free photo

Sometimes I wander,
through the valleys of my soul
lingering near the streams of life
when I felt well and whole.

I ponder the times Jesus filled in,
the empty and void space
where His love for me flowed
like a river full of endless grace.

As I stroll along the rugged clefts,
I can see the hard times too
as I roam all around them
His mercy for me shines through.

I reflect on the days and nights,
when I thought I was on my own
but now I can see how Jesus
never once, left me all alone.

I come across the mountains,
that I had to hike up to . . .
some of them I never thought
the hard climb, I could ever do.

But there I see Jesus,
standing upon the crest
calling down to me
“Come, I’ll give you rest.”

Sometimes I like to wander,
through the hills and dells
and go deep into my soul
where grace and mercy dwells.

that ye, being rooted and grounded in love”
