Spiritual Eyes ~

When you are given,
spiritual eyes . . .
you will keep them
on the prize.

For eyes focused,
on what isn’t clear
are eyes that know
Jesus’ return is near.

When you are given,
eyes that believe
true understanding
they will receive.

For eyes devoted,
to the Life and Way
are eyes to the Truth
always willing to stay.

When you have eyes,
spiritually discerning
to the world ways . . .
they’ll not be conforming!

from beholding vanity;

in thy way.

God, My Heart ~

God, my Heart,
my Life, my Soul
You have made me
complete and whole.

For You’ve given me,
a heart of flesh . . .
so my spirit with Yours
could interlock and mesh.

God, my Mind,
my Thought, my Conscience
Your Word has shown me
sin and its consequence.

For it’s active and piercing,
discerning and living
trains and equips me
to keep on daily striving.

God, my Heart,
I’m so glad You I found
for my mind is at peace . . .
knowing I’m heaven bound!

~~~~~~~~~~
Ezekiel 36:26
A new heart also will I give you,
and a new spirit will I put within you:
and I will take away the stony heart
out of your flesh, and I will give
you an heart of flesh.
Romans 8.5-6
For they that are after the flesh
do mind the things of the flesh;
but they that are after the
Spirit the things of the Spirit.
For to be carnally minded is death;
but to be spiritually minded
is life and peace.
Like Honey ~
I hear all kinds of evil,
things spoken and said
but, I don’t let them . . .
into my heart or head.
Instead I read my Bible,
daily the Word I study
for the grace of Jesus
to me is just like honey.
Its sweetness is pure,
it comforts and soothes
closer to God my soul
it motivates and moves.
I hear all sorts of words,
that are meant to offend
but, my faith in Jesus
I will always defend.
For, like a bee to a hive,
to Him I am drawn . . .
His words of hope and peace
I’d much rather dwell upon!
Proverbs 16:24
Gracious words
sweetness to the soul
and health to the body.
God, My Way ~
God, my Way,
my Life, my Truthfulness
Your every Word speaks
of Your Trustworthiness.
When faced with fear,
along my journey
Your Word keeps me
courageously sturdy.
God, my Path,
My Route, my Course
You are my competent
Almighty power source.
When I need guidance,
the Scriptures I read
Your Light gives direction
I trust where it leads.
God, My Way
my Destiny, my Future
Your Word my soul
feeds and nurtures!
in thy righteousness because
Buckle Up ~
Buckle up,
if you want to be safe
make sure you’re secure
in the foundation of faith.
For you can bet on,
a long-bumpy ride
and you’re going to need
the truth by your side.
Buckle up,
if you want to stay
on the narrow . . .
straight, righteous way.
For your going to need,
to trust God’s direction
so you can travel on
the road to perfection.
Buckle up,
for there’s danger up ahead
and you need to make sure
you’re Holy Spirit lead!
God, My Reason ~
God, my Reason,
my Logic, my Wisdom
Your Word is my . . .
life support system.
For it’s how to obtain,
a Christ like mind
so the narrow way
I’ll continue to find.
God, my Guide,
my Leader, my Mentor
Your Word warns me
of the danger to look for.
For it fills my thoughts,
with Your perspective
on how not to become
one of satan’s captives.
God, my Wisdom,
my Truth, my Light
Your Word keeps
my faith upright!
Faith Growing ~
Faith growing,
takes God knowing
for it to thrive
if it’s to survive.
For without learning,
there’s no discerning
God’s will and plan
are not those of man.
Faith growing,
takes Jesus knowing
for it to flourish
if it’s not to perish.
For without being versed,
about spiritual thirst
water that is living
will just stop flowing.
Faith growing,
takes the Word knowing
for it to multiply
so that it can purify!
The Hungry, Thirsty Heart ~
The hungry heart,
needs to be filled
with God’s Word
so to be skilled.
Skilled in faith,
trained in trust
so to the world ways
it will not adjust.
The thirsty heart,
needs to find
God’s peacefulness
in heart and mind.
Calm and tranquility,
amidst the mayhem
so their souls too . . .
God will not condemn.
The hungry, thirsty heart,
will not settle for . .
anything that God
loathes and abhors!
Perusing God’s Word~
Today I am perusing,
my Bible in my hand
with the intent . . .
to follow its command.
I’m reading carefully,
what God has to say
with the intent . . .
to listen and obey.
Today I’m pouring over,
the verses on the page
with the intent . . .
their wisdom I’ll engage.
I’m studying each word,
looking up their meaning
with the intent . . .
my soul they’ll be feeding.
Today I’m perusing,
my Bible I am scouring
for God’s Word I know . . .
I need to be devouring!
A Heart Searched By God ~
A heart searched by God,
feels the pain and sting
as He signals out
every sinful thing.
It weeps and it sobs,
begs for forgiveness
for it’s a heart aware
of its own wickedness.
A heart open to God,
sees its carnal self
how it puts importance
only on and in itself.
It sees the old man,
the prideful disgrace
it prays to God to give
a new heart in his place.
A heart searched by God,
turns from being stony
the day a heart of flesh
makes it meek and lowly!
~~~~~~~~~~

Psalm 139:23-24

Search me, O God,
and know my heart:
try me, and know my thoughts:

And see if there be any wicked
way in me, and lead me in the
way everlasting.

I Don’t Trust Man~

I don’t trust man,
to tell me how to live
I don’t have confidence . . .
in the reasons they give.

For man will say,
do whatever you want
or your regrets
will come back to haunt.

But, I know God,
will have the final say
on how I choose . . .
to live out my days.

So I put my faith,
in God’s living Word
so by man’s opinion
I’m not swayed or lured.

I don’t trust man’s,
worldly sentiment . . .
in this Gospel truth
I am confident!

His Light Bearers ~

Bible preachers, mercy teachers,
sharing with all the Good News
power keepers, soul reapers
doing our best to fill His shoes.

Love producers, peace makers,
helping those who are in need
trust imparters, faith informers
looking for His lost sheep to feed.

Hope distributors, calm givers,
paving the way with His light
God seekers, Jesus searchers
living the good and faithful fight.

Sin stoppers, temptation busters,
leading others from the gate of hell
truth tellers, one day heaven dwellers
with the greatest love story to tell.

Light bearers, problem sharers,
coming together in healing prayer
Bible holders, His soldiers
confessing Jesus because we dare!

The Happy CHRISTian ~

The happy CHRISTian,
reads the Scriptures
the grace of Jesus
their mind pictures.

They find their pleasure,
not in worldly things
but in the peace and joy
His salvation brings.

They shun the world,
find in it no delight
the Word they meditate
both the day and night.

They are like a tree,
that is rooted well
for inside their soul
the Holy Spirit dwells.

The happy CHRISTian,
pursues the right way
that is why they read . . .
God’s Word every day!

Perfect In God’s Sight ~

Lord, help me to be,
in Your sight perfect
on Your holiness
may I daily reflect.

Let me not be blind,
to that which I know
keeping Your wisdom
from in me to flow.

Lord, help me to live,
a life to You pleasing
let my heart reflect
one in Your keeping.

Let me not be deaf,
to Your imploring
to where hidden flaws
I am still storing.

Lord, help me to be,
in Your sight faultless
help me to be  . . .
like Jesus flawless!

What Have You Got ~

You can peruse your Bible,
all that you want . . .
but if you don’t apply it
what have you got?

For what good does it do,
if you don’t employ and heed
the instruction God gives
to you as you read?

You can read the Word,
all the day long . . .
but if you don’t utilize it
how can you be strong?

For once in the world,
you venture out in . . .
how will you keep from
being tempted by sin?

You can study your Bible,
till your face turns blue
but if you don’t live it . . .
what good is it to you!

How Would I’ve Known ~

Lord, I know You’re in control,
over all that I do
but, how would I know this . . .
if I didn’t first seek You?

I know I can trust You,
for my every need
but, how would I know this
if Your Word I didn’t read?

I believe You always will,
lead and guide my way
but, how would I know this
if I didn’t stop and pray?

I know for my faith,
with the devil I will fight
but, how would I know this
if I didn’t recognize Your light?

Lord, I know You’re in control,
over all that I do
but, how would I know this . . .
if I never heard about You!

Before You Get Up ~

Before you get out,
of your warm bed . . .
make sure God’s Word
you have read.

Then as you rise,
you will be girded
in the truth before
you even get started.

Before you get going,
take up faith’s shield
so to satan’s deceit
you will not yield.

Then as you get ready,
you will be protected
with a breastplate keeping
you and God connected.

Before the door you open,
make sure you put on
the peace you have found
in Christ, Jesus the Son.

Then when you see,
a dart at you come flying
you will know it’s from
the one who’s always lying.

Before you retire,
while warm in your bed . . .
tuck away your Bible
under your trusting head!

The Bible Is Like A Mirror ~

The Bible is like a mirror,
it reflects yourself so true
it shows all the hidden sin
yet living inside of you.

But if you never read it,
how will you ever glean
the areas in your life
God still needs to make clean.

The Bible is like a mirror,
it reflects your heart so true
it shows what is keeping
God disconnected from you.

But if you don’t study it,
God cannot lead or direct
you to see how sinfulness
has an everlasting effect.

The Bible is like a mirror,
His reflection should be in you
but, you must apply it . . .
in your life ~ for this to be true!

Dig In ~

When I read my Bible,
I dig in . . .
to see how the race
I can win.

I explore,
until I unearth
all the reasons
for my rebirth.

When I study my Bible,
I burrow in
and discover why
God hates sin.

I sift and poke,
I prod all around
so to temptation
I’ll not be spellbound.

When I read my Bible,
I dig, poke and prod
so I’ll not be ashamed
before the Lord, my God!

To Know the Fear of God ~

Oh, to know the fear,
of God that is awesome
is to learn how to live
in this world with caution.

For, His Word warns us,
to be not the world’s friend
or with it godless ways
to mix in or to blend.

Oh, to know the wisdom,
of Godly instruction
is to know being of the world
leads to death and destruction.

For, His Word cautions all,
to be alert and sober
for the time Jesus returns
is always getting closer.

Oh, to know the fear,
that makes one respectful
is to honor God . . .
by living a life not regretful!

When I Cry to God ~

When I cry to God,
for more understanding
to His Word He sends me
for wisdom upstanding.

I open up my ears,
to what He is saying
over what He tells me
I find myself praying.

I search for the treasures,
He Word holds for me
until silvery ray’s of hope
are all I’m able to see.

As I gain more knowledge,
into my heart I tuck away
how to keep His commands
so not to be led astray.

When I cry to God,
when my ears I incline
I find my heart with His . . .
can’t help but to align!

~~~~
Proverbs 2:1-5
My son, if thou wilt receive my words
and hide my commandments with thee;
So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom,
and apply thine heart to understanding;
Yea, if thou criest after knowledge,
and liftest up thy voice for understanding;
If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest
for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou
understand the fear of the LORD,
and find the knowledge of God.
The School Of Hard-Knocks ~
The school of hard-knocks,
can be oh, so wrenching
but, we must remain . . .
to our Bible’s clenching.
For grueling it can be,
when we’re tried and tested
but, in the Word we must stay
one-hundred percent invested.
The school of hard-knocks,
can be oh, so harrowing
as the righteous road . . .
seems to keep narrowing.
For distressing it can be,
when we are reprimanded
from the lessons we learn
of what Jesus commanded.
The school of hard-knocks,
can be oh, so painful
but we must remain . . .
obediently faithful!
Jesus Our Teacher ~
Jesus is our teacher,
we learn from Him daily
how to live our lives
fearlessly and bravely.
He leads and shows us,
how we should pray
when we need His help
throughout the day.
Jesus is our role model,
of how we need to live
for He shows us how
we can love and forgive.
He gives us the faith,
to believe in His grace
so we can remain strong
in the faithful race.
Jesus is our teacher,
to God our One connector
He is our faith’s . . .
generator and perfecter!
~~~~~~~~

John 3:2

Bonding ~

God speaks in the silence,
of each morning’s dawn
He beckons to me . . .
to be willingly drawn.

He awakens my senses,
to His voice oh, so quiet
so my ears can be open
to His guiding Spirit.

God speaks in the hush,
of a gentle wind blowing
with the promise His will
I can be knowing.

He invites me to lean,
into the stillness
so I can be filled
with all of His fullness.

God speaks ever quietly,
upon morn’s dawning
so throughout the day . . .
we can keep bonding!

Good Morning Quote ~08.25.19~

What’s In Your Heart ~

What’s in your heart,
what idol has it occupied
what’s causing God . . .
to be small and minimized?

Do you overtly worship,
adore and love it
is it filling up the space
of the Holy Spirit?

What’s on your mind,
what thoughts do you greet
what’s causing Jesus . . .
to take a back seat?

Do you openly fantasize,
on worldly pleasure
is it taking the place
of your eternal treasure?

What is in your heart,
what is on your mind
what is satan using . . .
to keep your soul blind?

~~~~~~~~
2 Corinthians 4:4
In whom the god of this world
hath blinded the minds of them
Keep Irrigated ~
My soul is like a garden,
where God’s Word I grow
I turn it over each day
so faith I can sow.
It’s planted with grace,
hope, mercy and love
provided by God
daily from above.
It often needs weeding,
and a herbicide
so all the bad fruit
can be cast aside.
When it gets too dry,
I have a hardy supply
of Water that is Living
upon my parched out cry.
My soul is like a garden,
daily I tend to it . . .
I keep it irrigated
with the Holy Spirit!
~~~~~~~

Jeremiah 31:12

Therefore they shall come and sing
in the height of Zion, and shall
flow together to the goodness of
the Lord, for wheat, and for wine,

and their soul shall be as a

not sorrow any more at all.

Smooth Sailing ~

Today there’s smooth sailing,
the water’s calm and still
it is such a gorgeous day . . .
to just sit back and chill.

Got nothing on my mind,
my heart seems to be at rest
my worries are but few
I am feeling at my best.

As I go about my morning,
I forget to say my prayers . . .
but, for now it seems okay
for I haven’t me many cares.

The sun outside shines brightly,
calling me to come and read
but, I leave my Bible on the table . . .
for I haven’t any pressing need.

Suddenly there comes a breeze,
stirring up the peaceful water
and I can almost hear God say . . .
don’t drift too far ~ My daughter!

The Truth Of My Youth~

My faith is simple,
I must admit
the truth I seek
within limits.

If in my Bible,
it’s not found
I know it’s not
Gospel sound.

I don’t believe,
all I hear . . .
for the truth
I do revere.

If God’s Word,
is slightly altered
I don’t accept
what is offered.

My faith is simple,
so is the truth
it’s still the same
as in my youth!

As I Look Around ~

Lord, as I look all around,
I see all You have made
I see the beauty in the sunrise
and the splendor when it fades.

I see the majestic mountain peaks,
and the hills brilliant, amber tops
I see the stars sparkle ever brightly
in a sky that never seems to stop.

Lord, when I look all around,
I see all the things You have done
I see how much I am blessed
by the love and grace of Your Son.

I see Your mercy dispersed,
when a Savior was given
to a world so full of sin
so all could be forgiven.

Lord, when I look all around,
I see Your glorious splendor
and I pray more souls to You . . .
their heart’s will surrender!

Let Your Light Shine ~

Let your Light beam.
let it radiate, let it spread

Let your Light sparkle,
let it gleam, let it glisten
so that more minds
about Jesus will listen.

Let your Light shimmer,
let it transmit, let it radiate
so more of the lost
to Jesus will migrate.

Let our Light ooze,
let it seep, let it exude
so that Lord, Jesus . . .
we can bring more to You!

If We’d Put Aside ~

If we were to put aside,
all our hate and malice
we would not come across
as so cold and callous.

If we were not filled,
with pride and envy
we would come across
as genuine and friendly.

If we were to behave,
less hypocritical
we would come across
not so judgmental.

If we were not always,
speaking of things evil
we would come across
as being more peaceful.

If we were to crave,
the earnest, true milk
our words would be
as smooth as silk!

~~~~~~
1 Peter 2:1-2
Wherefore laying aside all malice,
and all guile, and hypocrisies,
and envies, and all evil speakings,
As newborn babes,
desire the sincere milk
of the word, that ye may
grow thereby:
Deeper Things ~
Father, this is a new day,
You have given me . . .
a day to search and to find
the deeper things of Thee.
Help me to use it wisely,
for, to You it’s a treasure
granted to me to get to know
what brings Your heart pleasure.
Father, this is a new day,
for me to lift my voice to You
a day to seek and to find
what with it You’d have me to do.
Help me to grow my knowledge,
about Your awesome fear
so that I will remain humble
whenever to You I near.
Father, this is a new day,
to me You’ve graciously given . . .
a day for me to dive deeper
into the things in You still hidden!
~~~~~

Proverbs 2:1-5

My son, if thou wilt receive my words,
and hide my commandments with thee;

So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom,
and apply thine heart to understanding;

Yea, if thou criest after knowledge,
and liftest up thy voice for understanding;

If thou seekest her as silver,
and searchest for her as for
hid treasures;

Then shalt thou understand the
fear of the Lord,
and find the knowledge of God.

To Know God’s Will ~

To know and find,
our Father’s will for us
in His Word we must
place all our trust.

For, light and wisdom,
runs through the pages
with documented truths
throughout the ages.

To know and find,
for us our Father’s plans
the Bible we must place
right into our hands.

For, if it lays dormant,
on our dusty shelves
we will never die . . .
to our willful selves.

To know and find,
for us our Father’s will . . .
in our hearts His Word
must occupy and fill!

~~~~~~~~~
Ephesians 5:17
“Wherefore be ye not unwise,
but understanding what the
will of the Lord is.
Be A Gospel Doer ~
Be a Gospel doer,
read your Bible and then act
don’t just be a Gospel hearer
you need to give something back.
You can lend a helping hand,
or give someone your ear
let everyone know you’ll be
a friend who is always near.
Pray for those who ask,
even more for those who don’t
plead for their salvation
because you know they won’t.
Look for the good in others,
most only see their weakness
tell them Jesus loves them
for their own uniqueness.
There’s so much you can do,
to help other people out
all you have to do is ask
why Jesus they even doubt.
If you don’t have the answers,
I know just where to look
for the Life, Truth and Way
are written in the Good Book!
Matthew 5:16
“Let your light so shine
before men, that they may see
your good works,and glorify your
Father which is in heaven.”
When Confused ~
When you’re confused,
unsure of the way . . .
when you don’t trust
what others have to say.
Read your Bible,
to clear any confusion
and God will show you
His perfect solution.
When you are unsure,
about the course to take
don’t let others push you
to the wrong choice make.
So if you want directions,
that are clear and true
pick up your Bible
and let God guide you.
For, God won’t mislead you,
like so many might . . .
so when you’re confused
go to the One True Light!
Put Jesus First ~
When you put Jesus,
first on your list
there He will be
right in the midst.
For when you meet,
with Jesus each day
He will by your side
unfailingly stay.
When you make Jesus,
your top priority
His Word you will keep
with all authority.
For when Jesus is taken,
more seriously
the more you will train
for the race rigorously.
When you trust Jesus,
fully and completely
you will go to Him
each day more routinely!
~~~~~~~~

Matthew 6:33

“But seek ye first
the kingdom of God,
and his righteousness;
and all these things
shall be added unto you.”

John 14:23

“Jesus answered and said unto him,
If a man love me, he will keep my
words: and my Father will love him,
and we will come unto him,
and make our abode with him.”

Good Morning Quote ~01.12.19~

Safely Moored And Docked ~

Lord, help me not to have,
my faith rattled or rocked
rather keep me in the truth
safely moored and docked.

Let not me be carried,
by the waves of deceit
rather keep me following
in the steps of Your feet.

Lord, help me not to be,
blown by every Gospel wind
rather keep me grounded
to the truth I have within.

Let not me be confused,
by every ingenious lie
rather keep me anchored
in Your Word until I die.

Lord, help me not to have,
my faith rocked or rattled
help me to keep steadfast . . .
so I don’t become baffled!

~~~~~~~~
Ephesians 4:14-15
“That we henceforth be no more children,
tossed to and fro, and carried about
with every wind of doctrine, by the
sleight of men, and cunning craftiness,
whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
But speaking the truth in love,
may grow up into him in all things,
which is the head, even Christ:”
Good Morning Quote ~01.03.19~
Wide Awake ~
When in the morning,
when I am wide awake
I read the Good News . . .
and not listen to the fake.
For when I turn on,
and tune in my television
there’s so much evil
streaming into my vision.
But, when I read my Bible,
the airwaves are full of love
peace, joy and eternal hope
airing to me from above.
The Scriptures broadcasts,
the wonder of God’s goodness
and I don’t need a satellite
to transmit to me His kindness.
When in the morning,
I rise from my warm bed
I shun my television
and read the Good News instead!
Romans 15:4
“For whatsoever things
were written aforetime
were written for our learning,
that we through patience
and comfort of the
scriptures might have hope.”
Good Morning Quote ~12.04.18~
I Must Admit ~
I admit . . .
I am old-fashioned
for Jesus is
my one true passion.
I know people think,
I am out of it
when I say I’m filled
with His spirit.
I acknowledge,
I’m old-school
for I let Jesus
my heart rule.
I know people feel,
I’m a dinosaur
for holy living
I still stand up for.
I accept . . .
what they think of me
for still believing in
what I can’t see!
