Asking, Believing & Receiving ~

Our Bible tells us,
that we need to ask
for, God to our needs
is up to the task.

But, we must pray,
for them to be met
lest over them
we’ll worry and fret.

Our Bible reveals,
to make known our prayer
for, God wants to help us
with our every care.

But, we must plea,
before Him our case
lest we fail to be . . .
renewed by His grace.

Our Bible says to us,
to pray without ceasing
but, we must go to God . . .
trusting and believing!

~~~~~~~~
Matthew 21:22
“And all things,
whatsoever ye shall ask
in prayer, believing,
ye shall receive.
1 Thessalonians 5:17
“Pray without ceasing.”
Escaping Satan’s Traps ~
The only way,
satan to escape
is to not get caught
in his sticky tape.
For, he will lure you,
with his tacky lies
so into his snare
you’ll land just like flies.
Once you are caught,
in his gummy muck
you will find from him
it’s hard to get unstuck.
For, he won’t let go,
of his hold on you
for his grip hardens
just like quick drying glue.
The only way,
satan to escape . . .
is in your Bible
to stay in shape!
that ye may be able to stand
against the wiles of the devil.”
Constant Guidance ~
The Lord will guide me,
this I haven’t any doubt
but it’s up to me . . .
not to shut His voice out.
I will need to be open,
to His divine leading
and to His written Word
I’ll need to do some heeding.
The Lord will lead me,
all I have to do is ask
but, it’s up to me . . .
to be ready for the task.
I will need to be at peace,
wherever He may take me
for, only He truly knows
what my future is to be.
The Lord will guide,
lead me continually . . .
but, I must trust Him
with my life constantly!
~~~~~~~~~

Isaiah 58:11

“And the Lord shall guide thee continually,
and satisfy thy soul in drought,
and make fat thy bones:
and thou shalt be like a watered garden,
and like a spring of water,
whose waters fail not.”

Written On My Heart ~

Oh Lord, may Your Word,
be written on my heart
so that from Your ways
I will not ever depart.

Oh Lord, may Your Word,
in my soul be embedded
so to the narrow gate
I’ll always be headed.

Oh, Lord may Your Word,
be my constant guide
so that with You in heaven
one day I will abide.

Oh Lord, may Your Word,
be my only light source
so I may be filled  . . .
with Your mighty force.

Oh Lord, may Your Word,
be imprinted on my mind
so if I should ever stray
the way back to You I’ll find!

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart,
that I might not sin against thee.”

The Sweet Smell of Grace ~

Oh Lord, Your Word,
to me is a fragrant garden
for in it there is life . . .
and the sweet smell of pardon.

Let me find my delight,
in the aroma of Your favor
to its blood-sweetened nectar
may my heart forever savor.

Oh Lord, Your Word,
opens up like a scented bloom
its beauty catches my breath
like a bride meeting her groom.

Let me find such a love.
in the bouquet of Your grace
to its saving aroma
may my heart always embrace.

O Lord, Your Word,
like incense it takes over my senses
for the sweet scent of a dying Savior
has pardoned all of my offenses!

~~~~~~
” How sweet are thy words
unto my taste!
yea, sweeter than
honey to my mouth!”
Doing God’s Business ~
Each New Year,
I’m given a fresh start
three-hundred sixty-five days
on me, God imparts.
There’s no guarantee,
I’ll live out each one
so I need to be sure
I live them for His Son.
Each day I must be willing,
to do all I can
to share salvation’s story
with all of man.
Each second counts,
in these final hours
so I’ll need to call upon
God and His powers.
Each New Year,
has 525,600 minutes
for me to go around . . .
doing God’s business!
~~~~~

John 6:28-29

“Then said they unto him,
What shall we do,
that we might work
the works of God?”

Jesus answered and said unto them,
This is the work of God,
that ye believe on him
whom he hath sent.”

A New Foundation ~

This coming New Year,
I’m redoing my Foundation
for it has started to creak
and its turning my faith weak.

I am going to rebuild it,
from the ground floor straight on up
Jesus will be the Corner Stone
so by every wind, I won’t get blown.

This coming New Year,
I’m getting back to the basics
all the wood, hay and stubble I keep
I’ll put into a rubbish-heap.

I’ll get back to the Gospel Truths,
then I’ll lay them upon the Rock
I’ll make sure they’re God proven
not ones construed by some human.

This coming New Year,
my Foundation will be transformed
and I pray it will bear the fire . . .
so I’ll be saved when I expire!

~~~~~~~~~~
Ephesians 2:20
“And are built upon the foundation
of the apostles and prophets,
Jesus Christ himself being
the chief corner stone;”
1 Corinthians 3:11-15
“For other foundation can no man lay
than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
Now if any man build upon this foundation
gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
Every man’s work shall be made manifest:
for the day shall declare it, because
it shall be revealed by fire; and the
fire shall try every man’s work of
what sort it is.
If any man’s work abide which he
hath built thereupon,
he shall receive a reward.
If any man’s work shall be burned,
he shall suffer loss: but he himself
shall be saved; yet so as by fire.”
In My Bible ~
Somethings in my Bible I’ve found  . . .
the Word of Life
the end to strife
the mind of God
the road that’s broad
the state of man
the eternal plan
the heart of Jesus
the grace that frees us
the true Vine
the new wine
the gift of salvation
the doom of damnation
the way of hope
the how to cope
the river of pleasure
the everlasting treasure
the guidance needed
the laws to be heeded
the mercy-seat
the Savior’s feet
the schemes of the devil
the powers in high-levels
the Light
the fight
the path
the wrath
the Way
the escape
from
judgment day!
Trembling With Fear ~
You can pursue God’s Word,
whenever you want
but if you don’t apply it
what have you got?
You can study your Bible,
all night and all day
but if you don’t obey it
you’ll just lose your way.
You can go to church,
sit in your Sunday pew
but, the rest of the week
what is it that you do?
You can go to small groups,
share all you know
but, if you don’t live it
it is all done for show.
You can read and study,
sermons you can hear
but, is God working in you
trembling and fear?
~~~~~~~

Philippians 2:12

“Wherefore, my beloved,
as ye have always obeyed,
not as in my presence only,
but now much more in my absence,
work out your own salvation
with fear and trembling.”

If We Train Our Children~

If we train our children,
God, to always fear
then they will sense
His Spirit close and near.

If we raise our children,
to have Godly restraint
then with this world
they’ll not want to acquaint.

If we educate our children,
God, to always love
then they will lay
their treasures above.

If we teach our children,
to follow God’s plans
then they will know
their times are in His hands.

If we instruct our children,
to follow God’s ways
then His laws they’ll obey
for the rest of their days.

If we train our children,
right from the start
then from His ways . . .
they will not depart!

~~~~~~~~
Proverbs 22.6
Train up a child
in the way he should go:
and when he is old,
he will not depart from it.
When With God We Walk ~
Life is a journey,
when with God we walk
and when we read the Bible
you can almost hear Him talk.
For, as we travel through,
the pages keep telling us
it is in Me . . .
that you need to trust
As we make our way,
from the old to the new
God shows everything
He desires for us to do.
For, His Word instructs us,
how we are to live and be
and if we follow it . . .
one day His glory we’ll see.
We will find God’s blessings,
as the verses we go through
mercy, grace, joy and peace
just to name a few.
Life is a journey,
when with God we walk
but, we must be willing . . .
to listen when He talks!
~~~~~~~~

Isaiah 43:19

” Behold, I will do a new thing;
now it shall spring forth;
shall ye not know it?
I will even make a way
in the wilderness,
and rivers in the desert.”

The Undiluted Word of God ~

The Undiluted Word of God ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

Give me the pure Word of God,
not the New Age diminished versions
give me the real Good News
not the ones filled with man’s perversions.

Give me the sincere Word of God,
so I can taste all of His goodness
give me the undiluted translation
not the ones supporting man’s lewdness.

Give me the solid Word of God,
so I can sink my teeth into it
give me the true meat of the Gospel
not the ones coming from man’s own spirit.

Give me the sincere Word of God,
so I may savor His mercy and grace
give me the true unaltered Scriptures
not the ones that makes me feel no disgrace.

Give me the pure Word of God,
so my soul may be nourished
give me the Holy Spirit inspired version
not the ones that man has refurbished!

It Takes Work ~

It takes work,
this Jesus believing
it takes time
a lot of studying.

It takes days,
months, even years
to get rid of
our doubts and fears.

It takes praying,
this Jesus believing
it takes time
a lot of Bible reading.

It takes faith,
trust and desire
for the Word of God
in us to inspire.

It takes work,
this Jesus believing
it takes a heart . . .
opened to receiving!

~~~~~~~~
John 6:28-29
“Then said they unto him,
What shall we do,
that we might work
the works of God?
Jesus answered and said
unto them, This is
the work of God,
that ye believe
on him whom he hath sent.”
I’ve Not The Power ~
In myself,
I haven’t the power
to outrun satan
when he’s out to devour.
So, my spiritual sneakers,
I am putting on . . .
to insure this race
can be victoriously won.
I’ll pull up my laces,
God’s Word will be the knot
so to satan’s snares
off guard, I’ll not be caught.
With my Bible verses,
I’ll plan each of my steps
so I can remain diligent
in following the concepts.
In myself,
I haven’t the power
but, with God’s strength
satan, I will overpower!
1 Peter 5:8
“Be sober, be vigilant;
because your adversary
for the prize of the high
calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
My Soul Thirsts ~
Lord, in the aridness,
of my heart and soul
I am thirsty for You
to reign and take control.
I long to absorb and drink,
from Your holy Word
to feel the Living Waters
in my mind being stirred.
Lord, in the dryness,
of my daily reality
I thirst for You to bring
a hopeful vitality.
I long to be nourished,
with the Truth and Life
to feel Your stilling peace
eat away my earthly strife.
Lord, my soul thirsts,
for You solely . . .
tis why I seek You
with my heart wholly!
~~~~~~

Psalm 63:1

“O God, thou art my God;
early will I seek thee:
my soul thirsteth for thee,
my flesh longeth for thee
in a dry and thirsty land,
where no water is;”

Open Our Eyes Lord ~

Open our eyes Lord,
to all of Your wonder
on Your very Word
may we daily ponder.

Let us see You,
in all of Your goodness
give us an eye-full
of Your loving-kindness.

Open our eyes Lord,
to all of the splendor
of living a life . . .
to You, in surrender.

Let us always dwell,
on all that is right
give us a glimpse into
the lamp of Your light.

Open our eyes Lord,
to Your Word wondrous
so we may see how much
to us, You are generous!

that I may behold
wondrous things
out of thy law.”

Throwing In The Towel ~

Some days I feel like quitting,
just throwing in the towel
some days I don’t want to think
of another rhyming vowel.

Some days it’s so hard,
putting words into rhyme
some days I feel as if . . .
I’m just wasting my time.

But, then I read my Bible,
and the verses seem to jump
helping me to get over
my poetry writing slump.

For, God keeps telling me,
to continue, to carry on
how I need to keep doing
what I know He has begun.

Some days I feel like quitting,
blogging how and what I feel
but, then God encourages me
and restores my rhyming zeal!

Finding the Truth ~

When the Word of God,
is your daily bread
your spiritual hunger
will be fed.

When in your Bible,
you each day abide
your spiritual thirst
will be supplied.

When you soak up,
all the Good News
your life it’ll shape
if you so choose.

When the Scriptures,
you learn and memorize
you’ll see right through
satan’s disguise.

When you saturate,
your heart and mind
in the Word of God . .. .
the truth you will find!

~~~~~~~
John 8:31-32
which believed on him,
If ye continue in my word,
then are ye my disciples indeed;
Once Again Reborn ~
Today,  I was feeling,
quite weary and down
I needed something
to turn my thoughts around.
So, I took out my Bible,
and I began to read
God’s every promise
to supply all I need.
Today, I was thinking,
I needed a faith lift
for mine seem to be
in some kind of drift.
So, I read the Scriptures,
about Jesus in the storm
and soon my every thought
He began to transform.
Today I was feeling,
spiritually forlorn . . .
but, as I read the Good News
I felt once again reborn!
Life’s Demands ~
Lord, sometimes I get exhausted,
with all of life’s demands
sometimes I get so tired
following everyone’s commands.
For, I would much rather,
just spend time alone with You
with my Bible and commentary
the only two things in view.
Lord, sometimes I get fatigued,
just thinking of all I’ve to do
sometimes I am overwhelmed
meeting time lines, coming due.
For, I would so much rather,
just sit and listen to . . .
praise and worship songs
about my love for You.
Lord, sometimes I get weary,
thinking about the day ahead
for, I would so much rather  . . .
just stay praying to You in bed!
The way it shows,
the path it leads
where faith and trust
meets our daily needs.
I Trust God ~
I trust God,
His Word I heed
I trust Him
for whatever I need.
I trust God,
when I say His name
I trust Him
to remain the same.
I trust God,
for His goodness
I trust Him
for His kindness.
I trust God,
when  I pray
I trust Him
to guide my way.
I trust God,
to give me shelter
I trust Him
to be my helper.
I trust God,
my life to control
for I trust Him . . .
with all my heart and soul!
