When given a lemon . . .
we’re suppose to make lemonade
it’s a saying I’ve always heard
but, not one I’ve always made.
You see, I don’t like lemonade,
unless it’s sweeten by God’s grace
then the sourness of this life
I am able to peel away and face.
For what is lemonade,
it cannot quench the real thirst
unless we stir in the goodness
of Jesus’ love ~ into it first.
His love takes out the tartness,
the bitterness and the acidity
it unpeels the sin and grime
pares back the heart’s frigidity.
It removes the hardened core,
it softens up the outer peeling
His loves gets right to the soul
for a refreshing ~ inner healing.
So, if you are anything like me,
and lemonade you abhor . . .
the next time you get a lemon
sweeten it with the love of the Lord!

This is so timely for me to read as my kids and I were talking about tart trials today. Well done poem and sermon in one!

🙂 Yes, those tart trials seem so sour at first but as we read and study the Word we see how Christ will use them in our lives to produce greater faith. ~ Blessings ~
