Remain Steadfast ~

When under pressure,
steadfast remain . . .
then from temptation
you will abstain.

Then the crown of life,
you will surely win
for you stood the test
over besetting sin.

When you suffer,
rejoice in your hope
and God will give you
the grace to cope.

Then the character,
God wants in you to see
will be the one . . .
you’re not ashamed to be.

and you need assurance
ask Jesus to give you . . .
the faith of endurance!

Strength Everlasting ~

Everlasting strength,
the Lord gives to us
when it is in Him . . .
that we put our trust.

Strength to be courageous,
to be bold and dauntless
strength that will make us
in all things fearless.

Strength that never gives up,
nor never gives in
to the demands of evil
or the temptation of sin.

Strength for the unlikely,
the hard and impossible
strength to do the things
once unimaginable.

Strength everlasting,
is given to those who trust
a promise from the Lord . . .
to everyone of us!

Rise Up Again ~

We all take misguided steps,
causing us to stumble . . .
we all take a nose dive
when into sin we tumble.

But, we who have faith,
can rise up again . . .
for we know we need
from all evil to abstain.

We all say things we shouldn’t,
causing an avalanche . . .
of words we don’t mean
in the heat of circumstance.

But, we who have the Holy Spirit,
can tame our tongues
by letting Him take control
of our words before they come.

We all stumble at times,
we all use words carelessly
but, we who love God . . .
pray not to do so fervently!

Walking in The Light ~

When we walk in the light,
we will recognize sin
we will see the darkness
that still creeps within.

We will see the rebellion,
of our old wicked ways
we will smell the stench
of our own spiritual decay.

When we walk in the light,
we will see all the wrong
we will know to this world
we no longer belong.

We will see our greediness,
our lusts for former things
we’ll know not to fall again
into the traps they bring.

When we walk in the light,
from temptation we will flee
for the light shines brighter
then the darkness we see!

Something New ~

He made us,
into something new
and we must believe
this to be true.

Lest to doubt,
we will succumb
and our faith . . .
will be humdrum.

He is planning,
a new path for us
and we must always
in Him trust.

Lest to temptation,
we will surely fall
and our faith . . .
will be weak and small.

He is working,
out His perfect plan
and we must believe
to leave it, in His hand.

Lest to fear,
we will give in
and our faith . . .
will start to dim.

He is working,
in You and I
and He will not quit
until the day we die!

Satan’s Tackle Box ~

A peek into Satan’s tackle box,
should give you the shudders . . .
for the lures he uses come
straight out of hell’s gutters.

He casts out the snare of pride,
when God tells us to wait
for he knows our inflated egos
are so easy for him to bait.

He loves to entice us,
with the bait of envy and greed
for he knows with our possessions
we are not willing to concede.

He draws from his box of lures,
the most treacherous bait of all . . .
wolves in sheep clothing
in hopes, all will heed their call.

He wants to entice all he can,
with tolerance for immorality
for he knows we use God’s love
to endorse a lenient rationality.

Yes, a peek into Satan’s tackle box,
should make every Christian run away
for the deception that he uses . . .
has already caused many to go astray!
