Like the dew settling,

the warmth of my heart

My God is a God of truth
to me He never lies . . .
He doesn’t change His mind
on His Word I can rely.

My God is a God trustworthy,
on Him I can always depend

so that my faith I can defend.

My God is a God of power,

tis why I have the strength
to stay in the faithful fight.

My God is a God of instructions,

When The Truth I Need ~

When I need the Truth,
and to know what is right
I turn to my Bible . . .
and follow its Light.

For today there’s so many,
thoughts, ideas and views
that the Truth so many
now misuse and abuse.

When I need to hear,
the honest facts
I look to God’s Word
and trace His tracks.

For when I go over,
what God has done
I know the Way is found
in Jesus Christ His Son.

When I need to know,
the Truth I look to the Light
and I trust in God’s Word
knowing it is always right!

I Don’t Believe Everything ~

I don’t believe everything,
that I hear . . .
I don’t just let just anyone
have my ear.

Instead I listen carefully,
to what others say
and compare it to
the righteous, narrow way.

I don’t believe anything,
just to follow the crowd
especially when they are
vociferous and loud.

Instead I listen intensively,
to the voice small and quiet
to determine for myself
if it is the Holy Spirit.

but I test everyone . . .
for I know that I must
all false doctrine to shun!

Sometimes into God’s word,
I quickly run and hide . . .
for I know it is a safe place
where I can securely abide.

It’s where I feel protected,
from this world in chaos
it’s there where I cling
to the foot of the cross.

Sometimes I just escape,
right into the Good Book
whenever I need to have
an eternal outlook.

For there in the scriptures,
is where I find my future hope
so when the pages I leave
in this world I can better cope.

Sometimes into God’s word,
I swiftly hide away . . .
and shield myself in the truth
so not to be lead astray!

Meditate On His Word ~

Sometimes my Bible,
I just hold in my hands
knowing that inside of it . . .
are for me all of God’s plans.

I meditate on the verses,
that I know by heart . . .
how a future hope for me
He knew from the start.

I ponder in my mind,
just how much He loves me
how through Him I have faith
in all the things I can’t see.

I speculate on the day,
the last trump I will hear
letting me know at last
my Lord, and Savior is here.

I mull over and over,
how the gift of His grace
keeps me keeping on
in this the faithful race.

Sometimes my Bible,
in my hands I hold tight
and on God’s Word . . .
I meditate day and night!

The Sword Of The Spirit ~

The sword of the Spirit,
we are to wield . . .
whenever we go out
into the the battle field.

For, it speaks the truth,
to a world fallen
brings salvation to all
who on Jesus call on.

The Word of God,
we need to share
to those who have
so many worldly cares.

For it will calm and ease,
their everyday worries
just knowing that Jesus . . .
their burdens willingly carries.

The Sword of the Spirit,
is full of truth and light
and we must use its power

This Old Bible ~

Each morning as the sun,
rises up to shine
I pick up this old Bible
I faithfully call mine.

It is marked and highlighted,
some pages are a little torn
the cover on the outside
appears too a little worn.

It’s been with me for years,
it has been like a friend
it’s helped through the curves
guided me around each bend.

I have learned a lot from it,
it’s given me needed direction
it had for me all the answers
as I followed it’s instruction.

Each night as the sun,
dips into the night . . .
I pick up this old Bible
to shine on me the Light!

Whenever I need,

The Best Place To Go ~

Some people look to family,
for their encouragement
some seek their pastors
for spiritual nourishment.

Some people turn to books,
offering them self-care
some search their computer
for their health and welfare.

But, I have found for me,
the best place I can go
is to my Bible daily
where living waters flow.

For between the pages,
there I find my best friend
for Jesus promised me
He’d be there til the end.

Some people turn to people,
some turn to other things
but, my Bible pages I turn
for the peace I know it brings!

Life Is Full Of Lessons ~

Life is full of lessons,
some are hard, some not
some we understand quickly
others a lifetime are fought.

We need to examine,
what God wants use to learn
for what we take from them
will decide to whom we turn.

Life is full of experiences,
some easy, some difficult
some we undergo in our youth
others when we’re an adult.

We need to analyze,
to study and to explore
so we can formulate
with Him a daily rapport.

Life is full of lessons,
and God wants us to learn . . .
they are for our own good
so the truth we can discern!

Hanging On By A Thread ~

Is your faith hanging,

Rightly dividing,

Either it’s the true Gospel,
Holy Spirit inspired
or the one that’s diluted
that you now desire.

Rightly understanding,
what the cross is about
rightly receiving
our Savior without doubt.

Either you believe Jesus,
died for everyone’s sin
or you reject Him and go

I’m studying the Bible,
Jesus will be my teacher

Heavenly policies,

for God left them to us

A Place Of Quiet ~

A place of quiet,
is all I need . . .
for me to open
my Bible and read.

No upheaval,
no stir, no confusion

His Spirit’s infusion.

A tranquil place,
is all I desire

no fury, no uproar
just the Good News
for me to explore.

A Buffet of Hope and Trust ~

Every day is a smorgasbord,
a buffet of renewed pardon
a fresh supply of God’s grace
found in His Word garden.

I hunger after what is holy,
to help me through the day
only in the Word can I find
the Light to lead my way.

My appetites are gratified,
from the verses that I read
for they reassure me
Jesus is all I’ll ever need.

I thirst after the Truth,
reading the Word will bring
it satisfied my hunger pangs
it’s like dining with my King.

I need a steady filling,
of God’s mercy and His love
it’s like manna from heaven
coming down from above.

Every day is a smorgasbord,
a buffet of hope and trust  . . .
for the Word is like a banquet
Jesus set up for each of us!

When you’re feeling down,
and you need a lift
just pick up your Bible
and give yourself a gift.

For inside you’ll find,
God’s promises galore
for you to find and claim
when His Word you explore.

When you’re feeling anxious,
remember this one thing
since God is on our side
what good will worry bring.

For He is our God of peace,
who showers us from above
the gentleness of His mercy
in the tenderness of His love.

When you’re feeling discouraged,
and deep waters begin to flow

False Teachers ~

False teachers,
today can be heard
feeding heresies
to their sleepy herd.

Denying to the masses,
the need for repentance
making all feel safe
with their acceptance.

False teachers,
bringing destruction
misleading the sheep
with their deception.

Rejecting the Lord’s call,
to go and sin no more
allowing tolerance
to enter the True Door.

False teachers,
preaching every Sunday
no longer advocating . . .
just how narrow is the Way!

Gospel Mutations ~

The Gospel of Christ,
has many mutations
preached by different
denominations.

The gospel of works,
it’s all about you . . .
not about what Jesus
was sent here to do.

The gospel of moralism,
is all about being good
but, it is just another
salvation falsehood.

The gospel of prosperity,
is about being made rich
not in the blood of Christ
but by some get rich pitch.

The gospel of self help,
again it’s back to you

A light unto my path,
