High Upon A Rock ~

When tragedy comes,
catching you off guard
when the aftermath of grief
hits you cold and hard.

Know that God is near,
to the brokenhearted
and the crushed in spirit
He will keep safe-guarded.

When from out of nowhere,
disaster strikes you down
and it affects are felt
by every one around.

Know that God is a shelter,
a safe harbor and refuge
someone you can turn to
whenever under a deluge.

When tragedy and disaster,
come to your door and knock
know God will lift you up
and set you high upon the Rock!

~~~~~~~~
Psalm 34:18
“The Lord is near
to the brokenhearted
and saves the crushed
in spirit.”
Psalm 27:5
“For he will hide me
in his shelter in the
day of trouble; he will
conceal me under the cover
of his tent; he will
lift me high upon a rock.”
We Who Have True Faith ~
We who have true faith,
know God’s trustworthy
no matter what comes our way
He is always praiseworthy.
For we know He has for us,
only His absolute best
we understand He’s with us
through every trial and test.
We who have true trust,
know God will never leave
how all things are possible
because Jesus we believe.
For we know the Holy Spirit,
daily equips us for the fight
filling us with the power
of His awesome holy might.
We who have true faith,
know that God is deserving
and our thanksgiving to Him
we constantly are serving!
and supplication with
thanksgiving let your requests
Onward Press ~
Lord, today,
I must confess
it was truly
one big mess.
I bit the dust,
fell flat on my face
I couldn’t get up
if not for Your grace.
Lord, today,
I really blew it
failed to rely on
the Holy Spirit.
On my own,
I went off to fight
without relying
on Your might.
Lord, today,
was truly a mess
but I’m determined . . .
to onward press!
Philippians 3:14
“I press toward the mark
for the prize of the high
calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
When Feeling Restless ~
When you are restless,
feeling uneasy
when your faith starts going
from strong to measly.
That is when you will need,
to surrender your unrest
to a God who is waiting
to give you perfect rest.
When you feel anxious,
and nervous are your thoughts
when fear starts to churn
your stomach into knots.
That is when you will need,
your heart and mind to adjust
in a God who is able
to strengthen your hope and trust.
When anxiousness comes,
making you feel restless
ask God to bring to you
His peace that is endless!
“Therefore my heart is glad,
and my glory rejoiceth:
my flesh also shall rest in hope.”
Tip-Toe Faith ~
God has taken me,
into valley’s low and deep
with obstacles so hard
all I wanted to do was weep.
But instead I found,
what true trust was about
as I learned to give Jesus
all my fears and doubt.
God has placed me,
high on mountain tops
with many challenges
that made me want to stop.
But instead He showed me,
what true hope was about
once I found to Jesus
I could always reach out.
God has brought me through,
many highs and lows
to show me true faith
isn’t walked on tip-toes!
my steps under me,
that my feet did not slip.”
Your Wall Will Fall ~
Your wall will come down,
it too can fall
if on God’s power
you willingly call.
Your wall will crumble,
it too can come apart
it you trust God
with all your soul and heart.
Your wall will topple,
it too can collapse
if you will give God
your circumstance.
Your wall will weaken,
it too can flatten out
if you give to God
all your fear and doubt.
Your wall will fall,
it too will be demolished
if you believe God . . .
anything can be accomplished!
~~~~~~~~

Joshua 6:20

“So the people shouted when
the priests blew with the trumpets:
and it came to pass, when the people
heard the sound of the trumpet,
and the people shouted with a great shout,
that the wall fell down flat,
so that the people went up into the city,
every man straight before him,
and they took the city.”

My Foot Has Slipped ~

My foot has slipped,
more than I can tally
on mountain tops
or while in a valley.

But no matter where,
I would slip
Jesus on me
always had a grip.

My foot has skidded,
time and time again
it’s plunged into
treacherous terrain.

But, no matter when,
I would slide
Jesus was always
at my side.

My foot has slipped,
down many slopes
but, by the grace of God
I never lost my hope!

“When I said, My foot slippeth;
thy mercy, O Lord, held me up.”

Our One True Foundation ~

Storms come and go,
into our lives every day
some last only for hours
others hunker in to stay.

So we must be prepared,
for whatever may blow
as the timing of a storm
we can never know.

The framework of our faith,
must be strong and steady
for some storms are gentle
while others can be deadly.

We must build our faith,
on the Rock of our Salvation
lest we get knocked off
our One True Foundation.

Storms come and go,
into each of our lives . . .
and we must be ready
for each one that arrives!

that is laid,
which is Jesus Christ.”

God’s Comfort ~

Thank you God,
for comforting me
when my cares
are all I see.

Thank you Father,
for Your Son
who my burdens
takes each one.

Thank you God,
for comforting me
when riding out
the storms at sea.

Thank you Father,
for Your Spirit
who gives to me
the grace and grit.

Thank you God,
for comforting me
when troubles come
with trust in Thee!

~~~~~~
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
“Blessed be God, even the
Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the Father of mercies,
and the God of all comfort;
Who comforteth us in all
our tribulation, that we
may be able to comfort them
which are in any trouble,
by the comfort wherewith
we ourselves are comforted of God.
Open Your Eyes To Jesus ~
Open your eyes to Jesus,
look for His saving light
and He will give to you
a new a glorious sight.
Open your heart to Jesus,
give Him a home in your life
and He will upon Himself
take your cares and strife.
Open your mind to Jesus,
let Him show you the way
and He will graciously lead
you each and every day.
Open your ears to Jesus,
listen to the words He said
and He will make sure
to heaven you are led.
Open you eyes to Jesus
let Him enter into your soul
and your mind and heart . . .
the Holy Spirit will control!
It’s No Snap ~
It isn’t easy,
this being strong
it’s really hard
when all’s going wrong.
It isn’t a snap,
this having courage
it’s difficult
not getting discouraged.
It isn’t comfortable,
this waiting and waiting
it’s laborious
to keep from fainting.
It isn’t painless,
this being perfectly still
it’s grueling
finding out God’s will.
But those who take heart,
to God’s timing
on eagle’s wings
you’ll find soaring!
“Wait on the Lord:
be of good courage,
and he shall strengthen
thine heart: wait,
I say, on the Lord.”
Get God Involved ~
So often we have problems,
we try to fix alone . . .
when what we should do
is take them to the throne.
We know that in God,
we need to place our trust
but when troubles come
this doesn’t resonate in us.
So we think we’ve the power,
our worries we can overcome
and doing things ourselves
becomes the rule of thumb.
We know Jesus said,
our burden’s He would bear
and instead of letting go
we hold on to our care.
We set out our anchor,
in the sea of faithlessness
making for ourselves
an even bigger mess.
So often we have problems,
alone we try to resolve . . .
when we should be asking
for God to get involved!
Psalm 55:22
“Cast thy burden upon the Lord,
and he shall sustain thee:
he shall never suffer the
righteous to be moved.”
When Faithfulness You Befriend ~
When you trust in the Lord,
you’ll want to do what is right
and pleasing Him will become
what you’ll do day and night.
You will dwell in peace,
your heart will be at rest
and you’ll touch others
so they too can feel blessed.
When faithfulness you befriend,
you’ll find an easier road
so you too can help others
with their burden and load.
When you daily follow God,
your path will be straight
so you too can lead others
to the narrow gate.
When you trust in the Lord
and you befriend faithfulness
to others your love for Him
you will always express!
“Trust in the Lord, and do good;
so shalt thou dwell in the land,
and verily thou shalt be fed.”
Afternoon Ponderings~07.27.18~
Pedal to the Metal ~
Sometimes God puts,
the pedal to the metal
He wants to see if we have
the fortitude or the mettle.
So He sends us situations,
to see how we’ll react
testing to see whether
our faith will stay intact.
Sometimes God puts,
speed traps in our day
to see if we’ll race off
or stay on the narrow way.
So He sends us warnings,
to see if Him we’ll obey
or if we’ll race by them
and not do as they say.
Sometimes God puts,
the pedal to the metal . . .
and sends to us obstacles
to see just where we’ll settle!
which is to try you,
Soaring On Eagle Wings ~
We all fly on,
broken wings
we all cry over
lost things.
We all fall,
into despair
we all think
no one cares.
We all lose,
our way
we all feel
not another day.
We all fight,
with unrest
we all try
to do our best.
But we who fly,
on eagle wings
can soar . . .
above these things!
~~~~~~

Isaiah 40:31

“But they that wait upon the Lord
shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with
wings as eagles; they shall run,
and not be weary;
and they shall walk,
and not faint.”

Pit Dwelling ~

When in the pits,
don’t stay there
get right out
so not to despair.

For pit dwelling,
will cause bitterness
and God’s blessings
you’ll surely miss.

When in the dumps,
don’t stay down
pull yourself out
lest in pity you drown.

For dump diving,
is a pit’s best friend
and is no place God
wants you to spend.

When in the pits
or down in the dumps
let your praise to God
give your faith a jump!

~~~~~~
Psalm 40:2
“He brought me up also out
of an horrible pit, out
of the miry clay,
and set my feet upon a rock,
and established my goings.”
Jesus Is Waiting ~
When your heart is heavy,
when it’s weighted down
when hopelessness has . . .
your faith tied and bound.
Know Jesus hears,
your cries of despair
and He’s waiting for you
to give Him your care.
When your eyes are filled,
with nothing but tears
when your heart pounds
with the beat of your fears.
Know Jesus sees,
each streak on your face
and He’s waiting for you
to seek more of His grace.
When your hopes,
have all but crashed
and your dreams
have been dashed.
Know Jesus knows,
your disappointment
and His love for you
is your healing ointment!
hath no man than this,
that a man lay down
his life for his friends.”
Life Is Like A Road Trip ~
Life is like a road trip,
a long winding excursion
requiring from us
lots of physical exertion.
But we often get,
mentally fatigued
and need a rest stop
so to be relieved.
Jesus is that stop,
the oasis of our hope
where living waters fill us
with the strength to cope.
Life is a lengthy journey,
each one of us is on it
and the wear and tear
can drag down our spirit.
We get exhausted,
from the grit and grind
and we need a brake
for our heart and mind.
Jesus is that break,
it’s in Him we find rest
a perfect place to stop . . .
when weary or stressed!
~~~~~~~

Isaiah 57:10

“Thou art wearied in the greatness of thy way;
yet saidst thou not, There is no hope:
thou hast found the life of thine hand;
therefore thou wast not grieved.”

Matthew 11:29

“Take my yoke upon you,
and learn of me;
for I am meek and lowly
in heart: and ye shall
find rest unto your souls.

Tranquil Trust ~

Peaceful rest,
tranquil trust
is what Jesus
gives to us.

Putting our cares,
into His heart
so hope in ours
He can impart.

Blissful serenity,
calm’s quietness
is what Jesus
provides for us.

Giving our fears,
over to Him
so joy can fill
us to the brim.

Peaceful hearts,
tranquil minds
is what Jesus
wants us to find!

with all thine heart;

own understanding.”

So Many Battles ~

So many battles,
too many fights
so many who need
God ‘s powerful might.

So many struggles,
too many woes
so many who need
God’s peaceful repose.

So many troubles,
too many ills
so many who need
God to show His will.

So many worries,
too many despairs
so many who need
God’s mercy repairs.

So many battles,
too many fights
so many who need
Jesus’ saving light!

Good Morning Quote ~07.10.18~

Lean ~

Some days when I feel,
I’ve lost faith’s composure
I stop and lean closer
on my Savior’s shoulder.

I lay my head there,
letting it rest for a while
until my trust in Him
I once again compile.

Some days when I feel,
tired and down right beat
I stop and lean closer
to my Savior’s feet.

It’s there were I lay,
my burden and my care
until unto my hope
I’m again made aware.

Some days when I feel,
I’m about to fall apart . . .
I stop and lean closer
to my Savior’s heart!

with all thine heart;
and lean not unto
thine own understanding.”
