Life’s Curves ~

When life throws you a curve,
and you don’t know what to do
when your world comes . . .
crashing down on you.

Know that God will give you,
the power that you need
so that through the ruins
you will be able to proceed.

When one day all is well,
but, the next one not so . . .
when danger is all around
whichever direction you go.

Know that Jesus will be,
always right next to you
and with His strength
He’ll help you get through.

When life throws you a curve,
give up don’t you dare . . .
but, be instead content

Everywhere I look,
there’s a storm brewing
reminding me just why
my faith needs renewing.

For in the whirlwinds,
life so often brings . . .
I need to be reminded
God controls all things.

a tempest is being forecast
reminding me just why
I need to hold on fast.

For in the thunder’s roar,
comes fear and dismay
and so I remind myself

Clouds Of Hopelessness ~

When clouds of hopelessness,
gather above your head . . .
when skies turn thunderous
as darkness they spread.

Look past the gloominess,
the misery and despair
and the hope you’ve found
to the heavens declare.

When shadows of dismay,
start to mess with your head
when shades of their distress
fill your thoughts with dread.

Look past the grimness,
the bleakness and gloom
and keep in mind that hope
in heaven you have a room.

cast shadows of desperation . . .

on your eternal destination!

Storms Are Just A Part of Life ~

Storms are a part of life,
it’s just the way it goes . . .
and often we get tossed
by the wind as it blows.

We need to remain calm,
so we’re not blown about
otherwise we’ll be thrown
into the sea of doubt.

Storms can sneak up on us,
leaving us blind-sided
and often our trust in God
becomes misguided.

We need to remain faithful,
on Jesus keep our eyes
lest through the storm
we’ll fall for satan’s lies.

Storms are part of life,
it’s just the way it goes . . .
but we know God controls
just where the wind blows!

When your world shakes,
and you feel it start rocking . . .
when you begin trembling
and your knees start knocking.

Go to God immediately,
and give Him all you fear

not knowing what to do.

Go to God straightaway,
ask Him for more grace

In God’s Almighty Hands ~

Sometimes troubles come,
changing all our plans . . .
making it ever clearer
all things are in God’s hands.

Hands that long to hold,
to comfort and to console
hands that want to heal
the ache within the soul.

Hands that desire to reach,
far into the heart and mind
hands that hold perfect peace
for fearful ones to find.

Hands that crave to embrace,

As life’s storms,
we come upon
as more troubles
they bring on.

We need to pray,
as we sit and wait . . .
with forbearance
until they abate.

causing our worries

to our future hope

to help us to cope.

Our Realities ~

Sometimes our realities,
leaves us doubting . . .
sometimes they cause us
for relief shouting.

But, if we’re to trust God,
we must do so patiently
and wait for His answers
with a faith steadfastly.

Sometimes our situations,
leaves us questioning . . .
sometimes they leave us
with fearfulness, trembling.

But, if we’re to believe Jesus,
our burdens came to bear
then we will find His peace
as we give Him our care.

Sometimes our challenges,
leaves us wondering . . .
but, then God lets us know
He is never slumbering!

My Life-Vest

I got me a Life-vest
it’s on snug and tight
it’s helping me to stay
in the faithful fight.

When storms start to kick up,
my Life-vest won’t deflate
for the Holy Spirit is . . .
my shield and breastplate.

I keep it on all the time,
so I won’t ever capsize
for Jesus upon each wave
is always there to advise.

In the Word it’s inflated,
my heart it will protect
so when satan’s arrows fly
each one I can deflect.

I’ve got me a Life-vest,
Jesus keeps me a float
for together we are riding
in this wind blown boat!

Consider It For Joy ~

Consider it for joy,
when things go wrong
consider when they do
it’s to make you strong.

so that your faith in God

When God Sends Trials ~

When God sends us,
trials along our way
on our knees we need
to get down and pray.

For we will need,
a lot of His strength
so to keep our fear
at arm’s length.

When God delivers,
what to us is a blow
to the throne of grace
we need to at once go.

For we need not panic,
or think that it’s odd
for these flaming testings
to come from God.

When God sends us,

just think about the joy

In the midst of a storm,
Jesus is there . . .
He is ready to take
our fear, our care.

He hears our cries,
for His aid and relief
His ready to help us with

In the middle of the turmoil,

He is able to ease
our apprehensions grating.

He hears our lamenting,

for He understands . . .

Stress Test ~

Today God gave me,
a spiritual stress test
to see if my soul . . .
could remain at rest.

So He sent to me,
a hand-wringing situation
to see if my heart . . .
could handle the agitation.

He wanted to know,
how I would proceed
whether if to the strain
I’d win or would concede.

It took all of His strength,
for me not to succumb
for I knew I could trust Him
with the power to overcome.

Today God sent to me,
a test that was stressing
but I’m happy to say . . .
I’m patiently resting!

The Fickle Heart ~

The heart is a fickle thing,
one moment it’s at peace
the next one that comes
panic it starts to release.

It has its times of faith,
in the things it cannot see
but when problems come
it’s tossed like waves at sea.

The heart is a quirky thing,
one day it’s resting calm
the next it’s flat on its back
as if it was hit by a bomb.

It has its joyful highs,
when all is going well
but it hits rock bottom
when fear begins to swell.

The heart that trusts God,
is a heart that is sound . . .
for it knows He will guard it
when troubles come around!

We all start to sink,

in the murky grime.

the way out
God will show.

some kind of despair

Looking Unto Jesus ~

As troubles come,
as they most surely will
when the road ahead of you
looks all up hill.

When you are at a loss,
as to what to do
and you’ve no answers
not even a clue.

Look unto Jesus,
He knows how high the climb
He’ll help you over it
in His perfect time.

As hardships come,
as they seem to do
when they start to get
the very best of you.

When the pit you’re in,
is beyond waist deep
and all your cares

The trials of your faith,
may appear ominous
causing you to lose . . .
in God your confidence.

God wants to teach you.

making you to think . . .
to God your oblivious.

But, for every fire,
God permits through
remember into gold
He’s refining you.

For, God is preparing you,
