Puncture Wounds ~

When life leaves,
a puncture wound
don’t let your faith
by it be consumed.

For when we hurt,
God can replace
the pain and ache
with His grace.

When life pokes,
and picks at you
don’t let your trust
be pricked at too.

For when we hurt,
God can repair
the brokenness
of our despair.

When life’s wounds,
have you feeling . . .
hurt and bruised
ask God for healing!

~~~~~~~~~
Psalm 147:3
“He healeth the broken in heart,
and bindeth up their wounds.”
Be Anxious For Naught ~
Be anxious for naught,
let nothing cause you dread
let go of that worry
filling up in your head.
Be concerned for zilch,
let Jesus take your care
let go of all that you fear
so your anxiety He can bear.
Be nervous for nada,
let Jesus have your doubt
let go of those problems
that are stressing you out.
Be burdened for zip,
let your troubles not alarm
let go of that heavy load
place it all in Jesus’ arms.
Be anxious for nothing,
is Jesus’ command to us
His peace He wants to give . . .
if we’d just let go and trust!
Staying In This Boat ~
I’m staying in this boat,
I’m going with the flow
for Jesus will steer me
in the way I should go.
I will not be afraid,
I’ve nothing to fear
for in this boat with me
Jesus too is here.
I’m sticking with this ship,
perish I will not . . .
with Jesus at my side
I’ve no dread of thought.
I’m not going to sink,
my faith will keep me afloat
there’s no way I’ll go down
for Jesus controls this boat.
I’m keeping with this boat,
in it I’m going to stay
for I know the winds and sea
Jesus’ commands will obey!
~~~~~~~~

Matthew 8:23-27

“And when he was entered into a ship,
his disciples followed him.

And, behold, there arose a great tempest
in the sea, insomuch that the ship was
covered with the waves: but he was asleep.

And his disciples came to him, and awoke him,
saying, Lord, save us: we perish.

And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful,
O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and
rebuked the winds and the sea;
and there was a great calm.

But the men marvelled, saying,
What manner of man is this,
that even the winds and the sea obey him!

Leap of Faith ~

Whenever you hit,
that eventual wall
remember on Jesus
you can always call.

He will help get you,
up and over it
with the strength
of the Holy Spirit.

Whenever you hit,
that awaiting obstacle
don’t forget with Jesus
nothing is impossible.

He will help you to take,
faith’s boundless leap
and on you His power
He will endlessly heap.

Whenever you hit,
that unexpected barricade
remember with Jesus
you need not be dismayed!

through a troop;
and by my God have
I leaped over a wall.”

Enduring The Storm ~

Though the storm outside,
is swirling all about . . .
inside of me there’s not
one single drop of doubt.

For, I know God’s in control,
of the thunder overhead
and there isn’t anything
for me to fear or dread.

The winds may be gusting,
tearing things apart
but, there’s a calming breeze
sweeping through my heart.

For, I know God’s out there,
keeping His eyes on things
and He will give me the strength
to endure the storms He brings.

I do not know just how long,
this storm is going to last
but, my faith will keep me trusting
until its final blast!

Our One True Foundation ~

Storms come and go,
into our lives every day
some last only for hours
others hunker in to stay.

So we must be prepared,
for whatever may blow
as the timing of a storm
we can never know.

The framework of our faith,
must be strong and steady
for some storms are gentle
while others can be deadly.

We must build our faith,
on the Rock of our Salvation
lest we get knocked off
our One True Foundation.

Storms come and go,
into each of our lives . . .
and we must be ready
for each one that arrives!

can no man lay than
that is laid,
which is Jesus Christ.”

Pedal to the Metal ~

Sometimes God puts,
the pedal to the metal
He wants to see if we have
the fortitude or the mettle.

So He sends us situations,
to see how we’ll react
testing to see whether
our faith will stay intact.

Sometimes God puts,
speed traps in our day
to see if we’ll race off
or stay on the narrow way.

So He sends us warnings,
to see if Him we’ll obey
or if we’ll race by them
and not do as they say.

Sometimes God puts,
the pedal to the metal . . .
and sends to us obstacles
to see just where we’ll settle!

So Many Battles ~

So many battles,
too many fights
so many who need
God ‘s powerful might.

So many struggles,
too many woes
so many who need
God’s peaceful repose.

So many troubles,
too many ills
so many who need
God to show His will.

So many worries,
too many despairs
so many who need
God’s mercy repairs.

So many battles,
too many fights
so many who need
Jesus’ saving light!

Onward Pressing ~

The sea of faith,
has its up and downs
but, I know for a fact
in it I’ll not drown.

For I keep holding on,
to the cross of grace
knowing with Jesus
any storm I can face.

The sea of faith,
has its highs and lows
but I don’t worry
I go where it flows.

For I keep anchored,
in God’s Word each day
to keep me steady
for what comes my way.

The sea of faith,
can be distressing
but Jesus keeps me . . .
onward pressing!

Heaven Sent ~

Now that this storm is over,
now that I see blue skies
now that the ocean holds
the bounty of my cries.

I now know Jesus,
was with me all along
He was the only reason
I was able to keep strong.

Now that this storm is over,
now that I see the silver lining
now that the darkness left
taking with it my whining.

I now know Jesus,
was always at my side
encouraging me in Him
to trust and abide.

Now that my whining’s over,
now that my tears are spent
I can clearly see . . .
why storms are heaven-sent!

When Pain Has A Grip ~

Night can be so lonely,
when on us pain has a grip
it can be so very dark
when into depression we slip.

But our God is the God,
of the midnight hour
and we can make it through
when we call on His power.

Nights are excruciating,
when we are suffering
one can feel so hopeless
when our bodies are hurting.

But, God is our refuge,
our safe-haven and retreat
where our strength in Him
He’ll restore and replete.

Nights are long and lonely,
when in pain you’re withering
but God promises to bring us
mercy and grace, delivering!

His Sufficient Grace ~

When I’m weak,
and oh so weary
when the road ahead
is long and dreary.

To my Lord,
I cry for more grace
so what’s before me
I can bravely face.

When I’m anxious,
feeling low and down
when my world
comes crashing down.

To my Lord,
I cry for more power
to take me through
every troubled hour.

When I’m tested,
to my very limit
when afflicted
in soul and spirit.

To my Lord,
for my grace I cry . . .
for, He has all I need
to help me get by!

~~~~~~~
2 Corinthians 12:9
“And he said unto me,
My grace is sufficient for thee:
for my strength is made perfect
in weakness. Most gladly
therefore will I rather glory
in my infirmities,
that the power of Christ
may rest upon me.”
Into The Furnace ~
Sometimes the furnace,
we all have go into
so God can refine
restore and renew.
He will light the fires,
to chasten our soul
until we are willing
to give Him control.
He’ll turn up the heat,
till our sin is magnified
so our hearts can be
cleansed and purified.
He’ll add to the fire,
more fuel if needed
so that to His will
our life is heeded.
So if you find yourself,
in the fiery furnace . . .
more precious then gold
you’ll be, when you surface!
~~~~~~~~

“Behold, I have refined thee,
but not with silver;
I have chosen thee in
the furnace of affliction.

A Godly Intervention ~

Sometimes God,
has to do some afflicting
so our stubborn hearts
He can begin softening.

For, He wants to remove,
the hardness deep inside
so there will be the room
for Him to fully abide.

Sometimes God,
brings about suffering
so our prideful minds
He can start uncovering.

For, He wants to rid us,
of our self-centeredness
so we’ll have self-restraint
filled with temperateness.

Sometimes God,
has to get our attention
so with our stubborn hearts
He calls for intervention!

That Weighted Down Feeling ~

Carrying a heavy load,
shoulders getting weak
is the weight of your worries
causing your knees to creak?

Problems mounting up,
in way over your head
is the weight of your cares
turning your feet into lead?

Anxiety has your heart,
missing a beat or two
is the weight of your stress
weighing on your mind too?

Well, I have a cure,
for that weighted down feeling
one that will bring to you . . .
peace, hope and healing.

On Jesus cast your cares,
and your anxieties too
so with His strength
He can empower you!

He Calms the Storms ~

He calms the storms,
the waves He can hush
so those in distress
into His arms will rush.

He redirects the wind,
tells it where to go
so those fearful
His peace may know.

He stops the roar,
of an angry sea
so those hopeless
His power can see.

He silences the clap,
in the thunder
so those frightened
can see His wonder.

He answers the cries,
of those afraid . . .
so they’ll learn in Him
not to be dismayed!

~~~~~~~~~
Psalm 107:29
“He maketh the storm a calm,
so that the waves thereof are still.”
and of good courage;
dread not,
nor be dismayed.”
In The Right Direction ~
Sometimes God,
needs to get my attention
so He can reestablish
with Him a connection.
So He sends into my life,
trials and tribulations
to see if I will trust Him
with all their complications.
Sometimes God,
needs to redirect my life
by giving me things
that will cause me strife.
He wants to know,
how deep my faith goes
so that my weaknesses
to me He can expose.
Sometimes God,
has to get my attention
so He can keep me going
in the right direction!
~~~~

1 Peter 1:6-7

“Wherein ye greatly rejoice,
though now for a season,
if need be, ye are in
heaviness through
manifold temptations:

That the trial of your faith,
being much more precious
than of gold that perisheth,
though it be tried with fire,
might be found unto praise
and honour and glory at
the appearing of Jesus Christ:”

Riding Out The Storm ~

I’m riding out this storm,
going with the flow
no matter how long
the winds decide to blow.

I’m hanging on,
not getting blown away
on Jesus I’ll keep my grip
till I see the light of day.

I’m riding out this storm,
going to give it my all
if I start to get anxious
on my Savior I will call.

I’m clinging on,
to the Anchor of my hope
I’m counting on Jesus
to give me the grace to cope.

I’m riding out this storm,
I’ve got all the right gear
for, I have my Bible . . .
so what is there to fear!

The Fires of Affliction ~

Are you in the midst,
of the fires of affliction
are you dealing with
the heat of its conviction?

Are you brought to tears,
from the battle you’re in
is it hard letting go
of your besetting sin?

Are you struggling,
enduring the purification
is your faith being tested
beyond your expectations?

Well, if you are facing,
God’s refining pot . . .
know He needs to get
the flames burning hot.

For, He is purging out of you,
everything worthless . . .
so He can make you ready
for His divine service!

Yet, Another Roadblock ~

Up against,
yet, another roadblock
problems have you in
a dreaded headlock?

Well, don’t quit yet,
God will help you
and over this barrier
He’ll get you through.

Up against,
one more obstacle
worries have you thinking
this one is impossible.

Well don’t stop yet,
God will draw you near
and through this hurdle
with Him you’ll clear.

Up against,
yet another brick wall
well don’t you forget . . .
on God’s name to call!

them that call upon him,
to all that call upon

I Stood ~

I stood,
I knew it was a test
I knew when it was over
I would be blessed.

I hung on,
I did not break down
I knew I had to keep
my heart and mind sound.

I was firm,
I did not move
I knew my faith in God
He wanted me to prove.

I endured,
I did not waiver
I held on tight
to my Lord and Savor.

I persevered,
I did not let go
I knew my trust in God
He needed me to show.

I stood,
I kept on solid ground
I remained steadfast
I did not fall down!

Motion Sickness ~

motion-sickness-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

Some people suffer,
from motion sickness
some can’t stomach
waiting for God’s stillness.

Some people succumb,
to their fear and doubt
some can’t even begin
to shut the world out.

Some people fold,
under all the tension
some collapse beneath
the gloom of depression.

Some people’s faith,
goes by the wayside
some can’t stand firm
when pressure is applied.

Some people suffer,
from motion sickness
but those who trust in God . . .
give Him their queasiness!

Mountain Climbing ~

mountain-climbing-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

We all have mountains,
we need to move or propel
but, our doubt in God
we must first dispel.

Some of them are so tall,
we get dizzy just thinking
how we’re to reach the top
without falling or fainting.

Some of them are so rugged,
moving them seems impossible
that we forget with God
all things are truly possible.

Some of them are so steep,
they seem life threatening
that we can’t get beyond
our fear and trembling.

We all have mountains,
we need to move or get over
but, first our fear and doubt
to God, we must handover!

~~~~~
Mark 11:23
“For verily I say unto you,
That whosoever shall say unto
this mountain, Be thou removed,
and be thou cast into the sea;
and shall not doubt in his heart,
but shall believe that those
things which he saith shall
come to pass; he shall have
whatsoever he saith.”
When In The Wilderness ~
when-in-the-wilderness-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann
It gets lonely,
in the wilderness
it feels lifeless
cold and treacherous.
But, when God takes us,
into the wilderness
He wants us with Him
to get down to business.
It’s easy to get lost,
in the wilderness
it can be discouraging
in the land of bitterness.
But, when we trust God,
in the wilderness
He’ll walk us through
our insecureness.
It can be very dangerous,
in the wilderness
it can be desolate
in the land of hopelessness.
But, when God has us,
in the wilderness . . .
it’s because He wants
to heal our stubbornness!
~~~~~~~~

Isaiah 43:19

now it shall spring forth;
shall ye not know it? I will
even make a way in the wilderness,
and rivers in the desert.”

On The Winds of Adversity ~

on-the-winds-of-adversity-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

On the winds of adversity,
God seems to test us
and all we can really do . . .
is to hold on to our trust.

With each passing gale,
that rages through our life
all we can really do . . .
is to give Jesus our strife.

As the gusts keep coming,
and the storms continue on
all we can really do . . .
is stay calm til they’re gone.

With each rushing wind,
that comes blowing our way
all we can really do . . .
is to turn to God and pray.

For, the storms of this life,
will eventually cease . . .
and one day Jesus will bring
to our souls perfect peace!

~~~~~~~~~~
Matthew 8:26
Why are ye fearful,
O ye of little faith?
and rebuked the winds
a great calm.”
Jesus is the well of the living water, the Holy Spirit.
“It was the last and most important day of the Feast. Jesus stood up and spoke in a loud voice. He said, "Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Does anyone believe in me? Then, just as Scripture says, streams of living water will flow from inside him." When he said this, he meant the Holy Spirit. Those who believed in Jesus would receive the Spirit later. Up to that time, the Spirit had not been given. This was because Jesus had not yet received glory.” ‭‭(John‬ ‭7:37-39‬)
