The Spirit of Power ~

God has not given us,
a spirit of fear . . .
but, one of His power
to keep us to Him near.

No worry shall cause,
us to tremble or shake
not even the enemy
can author us to faint.

God has not given us,
a spirit of neglect . . .
but, one of His love
with regard and respect.

We shall speak the truth,
for in God we do trust
we care about others
because, He first loved us.

God has not given us,
a spirit of trepidation . . .
but, of a sound mind
not filled with irritation.

We are full of His peace,
there’s a calm deep inside
our tranquilly declares . . .
His Spirit is our guide.

God has given us a spirit,
not full of dread or fear . . .
but of power, love and peace
hope, gladness and good cheer!

2 Timothy 1:7

“For God hath not given us
the spirit of fear;
but of power, and of love,
and of a sound mind.”

Drawing A Line ~

There is a line,
we mustn’t cross
nor is it one over
which we can gloss.

For It separates,
the dark from the light
and we must choose
which battle to fight.

There is a line,
we mustn’t straddle
nor is it on one
we should travel.

For it divides,
where our treasures lay
be it up in heaven
or on the wide way.

There is a line,
we all need to make . . .
and we need to decided
what road to take!

~~~~~~~~~~
Matthew 7:13-14
Enter ye in at the strait gate:
for wide is the gate,
and broad is the way,
that leadeth to destruction,
and many there be
which go in thereat:
Because strait is the gate,
and narrow is the way,
which leadeth unto life,
and few there be that find it.
More Aware of Jesus~
Sometimes we can get,
so extremely busy . . .
that we find ourselves
going into a hissy-tizzy.
We become frantic,
with all we have to do
that Lord we forget . . .
to take time out for You.
Sometimes we neglect,
what is our real service
and our lives become . . .
just like a three-ring circus.
We become preoccupied,
with the show we must put on
that Lord we don’t notice You
until everyone is gone.
Sometimes we need to be,
more aware Lord of You . . .
and not be so loaded down
in the work we have to do!
~~~~~~~~~~

Luke 10:40-42

But Martha was cumbered about much serving,
and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou
not care that my sister hath left me to serve
alone? bid her therefore that she help me.

And Jesus answered and said unto her,
Martha, Martha, thou art careful and
troubled about many things:

But one thing is needful:
and Mary hath chosen that good part,
which shall not be taken away from her.

Feeble Feet ~

Some feet are feeble,
they slip and they slide
into the darkness . . .
they easily glide.

But, God will not let,
His saint’s feet fall away
if from His Word . . .
they opt never to stray.

Some feet are frail,
they falter and trip
onto the world . . .
their toes keep a grip.

But, God’s Word,
is a lamp to the feet
for those who keep
to the narrow beat.

Some feet are weak,
they wander all about . . .
but, feet that are strong
on God never walkout!

~~~~~~~~~~
1 Samuel 2:9-10
He will keep the feet of his saints,
and the wicked shall be silent in
darkness; for by strength shall
no man prevail.
The adversaries of the Lord
shall be broken to pieces;
out of heaven shall he thunder
upon them: the Lord shall judge
the ends of the earth;
and he shall give strength
unto his king, and exalt
the horn of his anointed.
Playing Hide-and-Seek ~
Some people with God,
play hide-and-seek . . .
they pray to Him only
when their feeling weak.
But, oh when their strong,
without Him they reckon
they can do anything
without first seeking Him.
Some people with God,
like to play games
they only seek Him
for material gains.
But, oh when their down,
and out of their luck
under their arms
their Bibles they tuck.
Some people with God,
think their sins they can hide
but, oh how God sees . . .
right through their pride!
~~~~~~~~~~

Genesis 3:8-10

And they heard the voice
of the Lord God walking
in the garden in the cool
of the day: and Adam and his
wife hid themselves from
the presence of the Lord God
amongst the trees of the garden.

And the Lord God called
unto Adam, and said unto him,
Where art thou?

And he said, I heard thy voice
in the garden, and I was afraid,
because I was naked; and I hid myself.

Seeking God’s Kingdom~

Seeking God’s kingdom,
is a daily must
for all of those
who believe and trust.

Whether we’re at home,
or be far away
we need to please Him
in every single way.

Seeking God’s kingdom,
is to walk worthy
to remain faithful
throughout our journey.

For us to live is Christ,
to die is our gain
the prize of our calling
is our souls only aim.

Seeking God’s kingdom,
while here on the earth
is joy unto salvation
to all who had a rebirth!

~~~~~~~
Matthew 6:33
But seek ye first the kingdom
of God, and his righteousness;
and all these things shall be
added unto you.
Helping One Another ~
Helping one another,
burdens to bear
we all need to do
to exhibit we care.
Showing them Jesus’,
love and grace
is something we all
need to embrace.
Assisting someone,
in their time of need
is something we all
should daily heed.
We can aid a neighbor,
tend to a friend unwell
or just hold a hand
till their fears unravel.
Helping one another,
needn’t be laborious . . .
we can simply just share
in God our faith and trust!
Galatians 6:2
Bear ye one another’s burdens,
and so fulfil the law of Christ.
Our Heart’s Desires ~
If we want to have,
our heart’s desires
we need to do . . .
all God requires.
For He wants us to be,
to Him fully submitted
to the Truth and Way
wholly committed.
If we want to have,
the wants of our heart
from righteousness
we must not depart.
For God wants us to be,
drawn to the Light
so the world can see
in Him our delight.
Our heart desires,
God will bring to us . . .
if in Him we commit
delight and trust!
~~~~~~~

Psalm 37:4-6

Delight thyself also in the Lord:
and he shall give thee the desires
of thine heart.

Commit thy way unto the Lord;
trust also in him; and he shall
bring it to pass.

And he shall bring forth thy
righteousness as the light,
and thy judgment as the noonday.

#throwbackpoem# Recipe For A Happy New Year

Take a cup of Forgiveness,
stir in some of God’s grace
then fold it into your heart
and this recipe you’ll embrace.

But, you’ll need to keep adding,
more ingredients as you go
if you plan on having a year
where Love can rise and grow.

You’re going to need Patience,
at least a cup or two . . .
if you want to have Meekness
bubbling up inside of you.

You’ll need to slowly blend in,
a heaping spoonful of Goodness
then beat it into the mixture
so you can whip up Gentleness.

Don’t forget to add a pinch of Joy,
and as you whisk it into Peace
add a dollop of Faith and Trust
and Hope you will release.

If you live in the Spirit,
you’ll need to walk in it too . . .
and if you follow this recipe
it’ll produce His fruit in you!

~~~~~~~~~
Galatians 5:22-23
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love,
joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness,
goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance:
against such there is no law.
Greet Me At The Gate ~
Give me peace Lord,
fill me with serenity
so that I may face
today’s uncertainty.
Help me to keep,
focused in on You
so my eternal aim
is always in view.
Keep my feet Lord,
from the truth slipping
keep my hands Lord
on my Bible gripping.
Give me wisdom,
for what’s lying ahead
help me to trust You
so not to get misled.
Give me peace Lord,
as my life I navigate
for my aim is for You . . .
to greet me at the gate!
This gate of the Lord,
into which the righteous
shall enter.
Lay Your Treasure ~
Put no value in the things,
living in this world brings
for they will only just corrupt
and in the end self-destruct.
Lay instead your treasure,
in things you cannot measure
things like faith, hope and trust
for they’ll never turn into rust.
Put no worth in material things,
things like cars and diamond rings
for that which we now hold dear
will one day all just disappear.
Lay up instead things eternal,
and the things that are internal
things like morality and integrity
against which there is no penalty.
Put no value on worldly things,
instead lay in your heart of heart
the things that will in the end . . . .
not corrode, rot or fall apart!
~~~~~~~

Matthew 6:19-21

Lay not up for yourselves
treasures upon earth,
where moth and rust doth corrupt,
and where thieves break through
and steal:

But lay up for yourselves
treasures in heaven,
where neither moth nor rust
doth corrupt, and where thieves
do not break through nor steal:

For where your treasure is,
there will your heart be also.

A Penitent Soul ~

Once you repent,
fruit you will bear
for all of your sins
will be laid out bare.

For a contrite heart,
will forsake all evil
follow no longer
the ways of the devil.

Once you profess,
you are a sinner
worldly conforming
no longer will hinder.

For a penitent soul,
desires no more
of what the world
has for it in store.

Once you repent,
you’ll bear the fruit
of true repentance
so sin can’t take root!

Bring forth therefore
fruits meet for repentance:

The Thorn of Pride ~

I got me this thing,
it’s stuck in my side
it looks just like . . .
the thorn of pride.

It’s making me feel,
rather unconformable
it’s making me weak
to satan vulnerable.

It’s bringing me down,
not in a humble way
I’m more haughty
the longer it stays.

It’s a disgrace to me,
so full of arrogance
it makes me believe
in my own intelligence.

I got me this thorn,
its got me feeling low
I know it’s my pride . . .
and God wants it to go!

~~~~~~~~~
2 Corinthians 12:7
And lest I should be exalted above
measure through the abundance of
the revelations, there was given
to me a thorn in the flesh,
the messenger of Satan to buffet me,
lest I should be exalted above measure.
A Callous Heart ~
A callus heart,
edges are rough
getting through to it
is more than tough.
But there’s one thing,
that is for sure
God it’s coarseness
can heal and cure.
A callus heart,
is thick and dense
being cynical
is its only defense.
But God can make it,
soft and pliable
so that it can be
for Him viable.
A callus heart,
is crass, coarse and cold
but God can turn it
into a heart of gold!
~~~~~~~~

Ezekiel 36:26

“A new heart also will I give you,
and a new spirit will I put within
you: and I will take away the stony
heart out of your flesh, and I wil
l give you an heart of flesh.”

My Heart’s Response ~

My mind said to me,
look at what you can do
my heart responded . . .
Lord, not without you.

My mind told me,
all this could be yours
my heart answered . . .
don’t open those doors.

My mind stressed to me,
see all you can enjoy
my heart advised . . .
don’t fall for satan’s ploy.

My mind reasoned with me,
you needn’t be concerned
my heart spoke clearly . . .
that’s not what you’ve learned.

My mind said to me,
ah, go ahead and just do it
my heart told me . . .
don’t listen to that evil spirit!

~~~~~~~~~~~
Matthew 4:8-10
Again, the devil taketh him up into
an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth
him all the kingdoms of the world,
and the glory of them;
And saith unto him, All these things
will I give thee, if thou wilt fall
down and worship me.
Then saith Jesus unto him,
Get thee hence, Satan: for it
is written, Thou shalt worship
the Lord thy God, and him only
shalt thou serve.
Tongue Control ~
We all need,
tongue control
we all should
our lips patrol.
For the words,
we choose to use
can light a fire
with their fuse.
We all need,
to think ahead
before the words
that are said.
For the tongue,
can be unruly
spewing its own
poison cruelty.
We all need,
to give over the rein
of our tongues
to Jesus, to tame!
~~~~~~

James 3:3-10

But the tongue can
no man tame; it is
an unruly evil,
full of deadly poison.

The Very Best Of Me ~

Oh, God I want to give You,
the very best of me
so go ahead and search
and tell me what You see.

If there be anything,
You want to alter
my whole life to You
I willingly offer.

Oh, God I want You to be,
in my life clearly greater
so go ahead and try me
till I simulate my Savior.

If in my heart You find,
anything to You grievous
purge it now from my life
so I’ll be more like Jesus.

Oh, God I want to give You,
the whole heart of me . . .
so search, test and try
till more of You I see!

Light Walking ~

Light walking,
is more than just talking
it’s knowing . . .
when our sins are showing.

It requires from all of us,
in Jesus blood to trust
to help us not to stray
while on the narrow way.

Light walking,
is more than just a calling
it’s a willingness
to avoid all evilness.

Then a real community,
of non conformity
will come together
as hearts to God surrender.

Light walking,
takes more than just talking . . .
it takes with Jesus a relationship
to form a true light fellowship!

~~~~~~~~
1 John 1:7
But if we walk in the light,
as he is in the light, we have
fellowship one with another,
and the blood of Jesus Christ
his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
The Gold in Silence ~
Lord may my mouth,
to You be pleasing
may my words never . . .
be to You grieving.
May my speech reflect,
the Life and the Way
may I tell the Truth
in all I have to say.
Lord, may my mouth,
heed Your instructions
let my lips not speak
words of destruction.
May I discover,
the gold in silence
may I give my words
to You for guidance.
Lord, may my mouth,
keep it’s lips tight
so that my words
embody Your Light!
~~~~~~

his lips shall have destruction.

Putting Faith Into Practice ~

Lord, help me to put,
my faith into practice
so I don’t appear
phony, fake or plastic.

Help me to live,
with hope abounding
so like a skeptic
I am not sounding.

Lord, help me to put,
faith into my behavior
so other’s will see
the love of my Savior.

Help me to perform,
my faith in You out
so I may be a witness
to a world full of doubt.

Lord, let not Your Words,
pass right through my ears
but let them go and do
everything they hear!

To Know the Fear of God ~

Oh, to know the fear,
of God that is awesome
is to learn how to live
in this world with caution.

For, His Word warns us,
to be not the world’s friend
or with it godless ways
to mix in or to blend.

Oh, to know the wisdom,
of Godly instruction
is to know being of the world
leads to death and destruction.

For, His Word cautions all,
to be alert and sober
for the time Jesus returns
is always getting closer.

Oh, to know the fear,
that makes one respectful
is to honor God . . .
by living a life not regretful!

The fear of the LORD is
the instruction of wisdom;

Lips Zipped ~

If more people would keep,
their lips zipped . . .
less hearts would be
torn apart and ripped.

If more people would use,
their words carefully . . .
less hearts would feel
so dreadfully.

If more people would hold,
their angry words at bay
less hearts would be
hurt by want they say.

If more people would use,
their words thoughtfully . . .
less hearts would be
feeling so awfully.

If more people would keep,
their lips zipped and sealed
more hearts to Jesus . . .
could be won and healed!

A Cheery Giver~

God loves a giver,
cheerful and cheery
He loves when we help
the weak and weary.

He loves a donor,
who gives freely
in the name of Jesus
gifts of charity.

God loves a giver,
happy and joyful
He loves when we aid
the poor and woeful.

He loves a supplier,
without any strings
for they seek no return
for the gifts they bring.

God loves a giver,
cheery and cheerful
He loves seeing us give
with a heart joyful!

~~~~~~~
2 Corinthians 9:7
Every man according as he purposeth
in his heart, so let him give; not
grudgingly, or of necessity:
for God loveth a cheerful giver.
Acts 20:35
I have shewed you all things,
how that so labouring ye ought
than to receive.
Sandpaper Christians ~
Sandpaper Christians,
grate on your nerves . . .
their abrasive thoughts
they don’t conserve.
Raspy and rough,
full of harshness
need God to replace
their heart of hardness.
Sandpaper Christians,
rub the wrong way
thinking not before
the words they say.
Like an emery board,
that’s lost its grit
forget they are filled
with the Holy Spirit.
Sandpaper Christians,
gruff and so bold
need to learn just how
their peace to hold.
Outspoken and snarly,
their words are brutal
need to seek how to make
their lips more fruitful.
Sandpaper Christians,
on the nerves grate . . .
need God’s wisdom
to set them straight!
holdeth his peace.
Finishing Well ~
Whatever you begin,
finish it well . . .
let the power of God
rise in you and swell.
Be faithful all the way,
as you run the race
hold on to the hope
of the Gospel of grace.
Whatever you start,
finish it well . . .
let the Holy Spirit
your fears quell.
Trust and believe,
Jesus is your strength
to go the distance
no matter the length.
Whatever you do,
finish it joyfully . . .
so you may complete
the course triumphantly!
~~~~~~~~

Acts 20:24

But none of these things move me,
neither count I my life dear
unto myself, so that I might
finish my course with joy,
and the ministry, which I have
received of the Lord Jesus,
to testify the gospel of
the grace of God.

Rise Up ~

Some people are paralyzed,
with fear and dread . . .
some are just hanging on
by a thin thread.

But, Jesus wants to heal,
our guilt and our shame
just like He did for . . .
the sick and the lame.

Some people are crippled,
by the sins of their past
some are hampered by
their wanderings so vast.

But, Jesus wants to cure,
our spiritual sickness
by offering us the gift
of grace and forgiveness.

Some people are immobilized,
by guilt, shame, fear and dread
but, Jesus wants us to rise up . . .
and have faith in Him instead!

Smooth Sailing ~

Today there’s smooth sailing,
the water’s calm and still
it is such a gorgeous day . . .
to just sit back and chill.

Got nothing on my mind,
my heart seems to be at rest
my worries are but few
I am feeling at my best.

As I go about my morning,
I forget to say my prayers . . .
but, for now it seems okay
for I haven’t me many cares.

The sun outside shines brightly,
calling me to come and read
but, I leave my Bible on the table . . .
for I haven’t any pressing need.

Suddenly there comes a breeze,
stirring up the peaceful water
and I can almost hear God say . . .
don’t drift too far ~ My daughter!

If We’re Not To Judge ~

If others we are not,
to call out or judge
then why do we still hold
against people a grudge?

If we’re not to condemn,
but rather to show grace
then why do we criticize
other’s right to their face?

If we’re not to deplore,
but rather understand
then why do we still hold
the gavel in our hand?

If we’re not to accuse,
or bear false witness
then why is our nose
in others business?

If we believe God,
will have the final say
judgment for others
we’ll save for that day!

Purging and Pruning ~

He deletes,
He rids, He clears
those who have
no Godly fear.

He prunes,
He snips, He trims
so we who remain
can be more like Him.

He purges,
He cuts, He chops
so He can grow
a righteous crop.

He tests,
He exams, He tries
to find those willing
to self to die.

He prunes,
He snips, He pares
so more fruit
for Him we’ll bear.

fruit, he purgeth it, that it may

Knitted Together ~

Knitted together,
with the strands
of love and grace
held in God’s hands.

Hearts joined,
with assurance
to run the race
with endurance.

Stitched collectively,
to become one
with the riches found
in Father and Son.

Clothed in righteousness,
the fabric of our life
so to encourage others
through worldly strife.

Knitted together,
by God’s hand . . .
so we may become
one single strand!

~~~~~~~
Colossians 2:2
That their hearts might be comforted,
being knit together in love,
Let Your Light Shine ~
Let your Light shine,
let it glow, let it burst
so that more hearts
after Jesus will thirst.
Let your Light beam.
let it radiate, let it spread
so that more souls
to Jesus will be lead.
Let your Light sparkle,
let it gleam, let it glisten
so that more minds
about Jesus will listen.
Let your Light shimmer,
let it transmit, let it radiate
so more of the lost
to Jesus will migrate.
Let our Light ooze,
let it seep, let it exude
so that Lord, Jesus . . .
we can bring more to You!
Stand Fast ~
Stand fast,
stay firm
be strong
don’t squirm.
Hold on,
cling tight
be ready
for a fight.
Be watchful,
stay sober
be alert
not a dozer.
Remain fixed,
stand sound
until the end
hold ground.
Stand firm,
hold on
be strong
in God’s Son!
Abiding In God’s Love ~
Abiding in God’s love,
is something you must do
now that the Holy Spirit
lives inside of you.
For, He has called you,
to walk in all His ways
and when you step out
His love you must display.
Abiding in God’s love,
is a choice you need to make
your past attitudes
you will need now to forsake.
For He has called you,
into a fruitful living
so that you will learn
the meaning of forgiving.
Abiding in God’s love,
we all need to do . . .
for Father we know
it brings glory to You!
~~~~~~~

John 15:7-10

If ye abide in me, and my words
abide in you, ye shall ask what
ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

Herein is my Father glorified,
that ye bear much fruit;
so shall ye be my disciples.

As the Father hath loved me,
so have I loved you:
continue ye in my love.

If ye keep my commandments,
ye shall abide in my love;
even as I have kept my Father’s
commandments, and abide in his love.

If We’d Put Aside ~

If we were to put aside,
all our hate and malice
we would not come across
as so cold and callous.

If we were not filled,
with pride and envy
we would come across
as genuine and friendly.

If we were to behave,
less hypocritical
we would come across
not so judgmental.

If we were not always,
speaking of things evil
we would come across
as being more peaceful.

If we were to crave,
the earnest, true milk
our words would be
as smooth as silk!

~~~~~~
1 Peter 2:1-2
Wherefore laying aside all malice,
and all guile, and hypocrisies,
and envies, and all evil speakings,
As newborn babes,
desire the sincere milk
of the word, that ye may
grow thereby:
Because I am Loved ~
Because I am loved,
I am humble . . .
under my cares
I don’t crumble.
Because I am humble,
I am set free
from the devil
I am able to flee.
Because I am free,
I am forgiven
to holy living
I am driven.
Because I am forgiven,
I am saved
to the world’s ways
I’m no longer a slave.
Because I am saved,
I am strong
no more desire
I have to do wrong.
Because I was loved,
by Jesus first . . .
after righteousness
I hunger and thirst!
~~~~~~~~

1 Peter 5:6-10

Humble yourselves therefore under
the mighty hand of God, that he
may exalt you in due time:

Matthew 6:33

But seek ye first the kingdom of God,
and his righteousness; and all these
things shall be added unto you.

We love him,
because he first loved us.

That Beam ~

God’s Word will remove,
that beam in your eye
if only the truth . . .
you’ll readily apply.

It will take that beam,
of vanity and pride
and help you to see
your own faults inside.

God’s Word will expose,
that beam in your sight
if only the truth . . .
you’ll see in His light.

It will reveal that beam,
of spitefulness and envy
and help you to see
their your own worst enemy.

God’s Word will unmask,
that beam in your soul
so judgment of others . . .
you’ll learn to control!

~~~~~~
Matthew 7:1-5
Judge not, that ye be not judged.
For with what judgment ye judge,
ye shall be judged: and with what
measure ye mete, it shall be
measured to you again.
And why beholdest thou the mote
that is in thy brother’s eye,
but considerest not the beam
that is in thine own eye?
Or how wilt thou say to thy brother,
Let me pull out the mote out of
thine eye; and, behold, a beam
is in thine own eye?
Thou hypocrite, first cast out
the beam out of thine own eye;
and then shalt thou see clearly
to cast out the mote out of thy
brother’s eye.
Spare-Tire Christians ~
Spare-tire Christians,
smooth and tread-bare
only have faith . . .
when they lose air.
Calling on God,
only when deflated
the rest of the time
their ego’s inflated.
Spare-tire Christians,
come out of the trunk
only when they run . . .
out of good luck.
Praying to God,
for an easy, quick fix
then they speed off
back to their old tricks.
Spare tire Christians,
they are all around
they only need God . . .
when they break down!
from such turn away.
It’s Hard to Love ~
It’s hard to love people,
who are always difficult
it’s not easy to show grace . . .
when you they insult.
It’s hard to love people,
who publicly hate you
it’s not easy to be meek . . .
to those who evil do.
It’s hard to love people,
who are openly ungodly
it’s not easy to show mercy . . .
when wickedness they embody.
It’s hard to love people,
who are your sworn enemy
it’s not easy to be humble . . .
when they mock you steadily.
But as Christian we know,
like Jesus we must love them too
for that is what He commanded . . .
us to go, live and do!
~~~~~~

Galatians 5:14

For all the law is fulfilled
in one word, even in this;
Thou shalt love thy neighbour
as thyself.

John 13:34

A new commandment
I give unto you,
That ye love one another;
as I have loved you,
that ye also love one another.

Grieve Not ~

Father may my words,
not cause grief to You
rather let them bring praise
for all for me You do.

Let my speech be used,
solely for edifying
let my remarks be
purposely purifying.

Father may my lips,
evil not ever speak
rather let them strengthen
those who are weak.

Let my mouth not be,
like a gurgling cesspool
let it be more like . . .
a forgiving whirlpool.

Father may my words,
be of holy thought
so Your Spirit . . .
I may grieve not!

And grieve not the holy Spirit
of God, whereby ye are sealed
unto the day of redemption.

Hearts In Harmony ~

Hearts in harmony,
have the same tone
for they know Jesus
their sins did atone.

Hearts in unity,
have the same feeling
for they know His grace
brings inner healing.

Hearts in unison,
have the same pitch
for they know His love
makes the poor rich.

Hearts in cohesion,
have the same flavor
for they know the hope
of having a Savior.

Hearts in harmony,
have the same melody
for they know their future
will be heavenly!

that ye be likeminded,

In God’s Hands ~

In God’s hands,
I clearly fit
by His own fingers
my soul He did knit.

For in the womb,
they formed me
just like the pod
of a pea.

In God’s hands
I want to stay
and be to Him
a piece of clay.

For He molded,
my heart in them
just like the bud
on top of a stem.

In God’s hands,
I perfectly fit
for by them He put
His own spirit!

~~~~~~
Isaiah 64:8
But now, O Lord, thou art our father;
we are the clay, and thou our potter;
and we all are the work of thy hand.
Into The Heart Of Me ~
Lord, let me not forget,
how You can always see
whenever I am going . . .
wherever it is I be.
Let me be found faithful,
in doing what is Your will
let all I do be done
with the Holy Spirit’s zeal.
Lord, let me be pleasing,
not in man’s rebellious eyes
but in Your divine ones
so I can be seen as wise.
Let me be found obedient,
in my service to You
let me not be deceived
by the world’s point of view.
Lord, may I not forget,
how You can always see . . .
through my outward facade
right into the heart of me!
doing the will of God from the heart
Hat Juggling ~
We all wear various hats,
of miscellaneous kinds
we all have certain roles
that tie us down and bind.
But, when for the Lord,
we perform our tasks
He’ll help us balance them
when for His help we ask.
We all wear assorted hats,
of differing forms
we all have vast duties
each day we perform.
But, when for the Lord,
our commitments we fill
He will help us juggle them
with the strength to do His will
We all wear varying hats,
of different sorts and sizes
and in the end the Crown of Life
will be the one we prize!
Put On Your Grace Face ~
When other people’s walls,
you cannot bring down
and all they offer you
is a big, grumpy frown.
Put on your grace-face,
give them a smile
despite if they remain
to you hostile
When other people’s defenses,
you can’t break through
and bitter, cranky words
they throw at you.
But on your grace-face,
and to them be kind
even if they don’t pay
you back any mind.
When other people’s coldness,
you cannot penetrate
put on your grace-face . . .
and let Jesus’ love radiate!
And be ye kind one to another,
tenderhearted,
forgiving one another,
even as God for Christ’s sake
hath forgiven you.
When You’ve Fallen~
When you’ve fallen,
don’t you keep down
instead turn to God
right back around.
For we all have fallen,
in some kinda of way
but, it’s not where God
wants us to ever stay.
When you’ve blown it,
don’t you feel deflated
instead turn back to God
and He will be elated.
For the devil desires,
that we shouldn’t rise
but, a heart repentant
is a blessing to God’s eyes.
When you have fallen,
turn back to God right away
and He will put you back
on the straight pathway!
Scatter Seeds Of Kindness ~
Scatter seeds of kindness,
as today you make your way
you don’t know just how much
they could make someone’s day.
Spread a wide old-grin,
get someone else to smile
it could make them feel
useful and worthwhile.
Extend a happy greeting,
sing out a bright hello
it may bring a little joy
to someone you don’t know.
Disperse some generosity,
it can go a long, long way
to energize and cheer up
someone sad you meet today.
Scatter seeds of kindness,
let goodwill be what you sow
how they make other’s feel
you may never really know!
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Galatians 5:22-23

But the fruit of the Spirit is love,
joy, peace, longsuffering,
gentleness, goodness, faith,

Meekness, temperance:
against such there is no law.

A Life Drama Free ~

We all want to have,
a drama-free life
where love conquers
the everyday strife.

We all need to be,
less angry, more loving
we all need to become
more mercifully giving.

We all want to have,
a life free of drama
where peace surpasses
the everyday trauma.

We all need to be,
less cold and indifferent
we all need to render
grace more consistent.

We all want to have,
a life drama free . . .
and I know it starts
right here with me!

~~~~~~
Galatians 5:15
But if ye bite and devour one another,
take heed that ye be not consumed
one of another.
hath forgiven you.
Double Standards ~
Double standards,
double-minded
to God’s ways
oh, so blinded.
Indecisive,
volatile and fickle
finding themselves
often in a pickle.
Double talk,
double attractions
easily allured
by sinful distractions.
Fly-by-night,
and seat of pants
always willing
to take a chance.
Hearts unstable,
minds doubled
are souls who are
deeply troubled!
More Like Thee ~
Lord, I know Your thoughts,
supremely outshine mine
for they are always pure
holy and divine.
So, I pray today,
Your thoughts will be . . .
ones that I too can have
so I can be more like Thee.
Lord, I know Your ways,
surpass the ones I choose to
for they always lead
gloriously, straight to You.
So, I pray today,
to Your ways I’ll abide
and to let your Word
for me the path decide.
Lord Your ways and thoughts,
are higher then my own
for they always come . . .
directly from Your throne.
~~~~~~~

Isaiah 55:8-9

For my thoughts
are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways
my ways, saith the Lord.

For as the heavens are
higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher
than your ways,
and my thoughts than
your thoughts.

Work Out Your Own Salvation ~

You can exercise,
every day at the gym
you can lift weights
to keep fit and trim.

But, if you’re not living,
a Godly life . . .
your soul will experience
eternal strife.

You can go to a clubhouse,
in the day or at night
you can keep your physic
noticeable strong and tight.

But, if you’re not working,
out your own salvation
you could be headed
for eternal damnation.

You can run a marathon,
or any other race
you can groom yourself
to take first place.

But, if you’re not training,
each day for Godliness
you just might miss out on . . .
having everlasting bliss!

~~~~~~~~
but godliness is profitable unto all
things, having promise of the life
My Cross To Bear ~
I have decided,
to take up my cross
to wear it, to bear it
no matter the loss.
I am persuaded,
it’s the right thing to do
to lift it, to carry it
all my days through.
I am compelled,
to take up my cross
to endure it, to suffer it
no matter the loss.
I am convinced,
it is my obligation
to accept it, to tolerate it
without hesitation.
I am determined,
to take up my cross
to bear it, carry it, endure it . . .
no matter what the loss!
“Then said Jesus unto his disciples,
If any man will come after me,
let him deny himself,
and take up his cross,
and follow me.”
Embracing The New ~
Embracing the new,
getting rid of the old
is freeing and liberating
makes us for Jesus bold.
It’s finally saying goodbye,
to former desires
and letting the Holy Spirit
ignite into our souls a fire.
Taking off the weight,
of spiritual depression
allows Jesus to make
a lasting impression.
It’s doing away with self,
and letting Jesus in
it’s going out everyday
not falling back into sin.
Doing away with the old,
for what is new . . .
is letting Jesus become
a part of you!
~~~~~~~~~

Therefore if any man be in Christ,
he is a new creature: old things
are passed away; behold,
all things are become new.

Blessing Counting ~

Don’t number your burdens,
instead count your blessings
for burden counting, adding
can be gloomy and depressing.

So let your mind run free,
and add up all the ways
God has provided you . . .
with your needs each day.

Don’t list your complaints,
instead tally up God’s benefits
for complaining, tallying
has disheartening elements.

So let your heart begin,
to list the hopeful things
everyday into your life
Jesus sends and brings.

Don’t list all of your have-nots,
rather count the good things God has given
when your done the total sum . . .
will add up to the reasons you’re forgiven!

and forget not all his benefits:”

Called By God ~

Called by God,
into righteous living
all because of grace
not of our own doing.

A holy pure life,
we’re to lead
so sin into it . . .
cannot breed.

Called to be saints,
without blame
in love and truth
without shame.

A fountain of life,
we are to be
so Jesus’ light in us
the world can see.

Called by God,
into a life holy
called to give up
our ungodly folly!

~~~~
2 Timothy 1:9
 with an holy calling,
Bold As Lions ~
Bold as lions,
are those who are righteous
they’ve nothing to fear
for they are virtuous.
Their conscience is clear,
they’ve no reason to doubt
for from the curse of darkness
they have found their way out.
Brave as lions,
are those who are Godly
they’ve nothing to dread
for they’ve ceased their folly.
Their hearts are right,
their evilness was replaced
with the love and mercy
of their Savior’s grace.
Bold and brave,
like lions are we . . .
for to our wicked ways
we were able to flee!
no man pursueth:
but the righteous are
bold as a lion.”
