Seeking God’s Will ~

As I woke up today,
I sought God’s will
and He said to me my child . . .
lie there and be still.

So I stayed in my bed,
wondering about the day
and He said to me my child . . .
I will lead you the way.

As I pulled off my covers,
so my day I could start
and He said to me my child . . .
let me have all your heart.

I didn’t know just what,
with the day I was to do
and He said to me my child . . .
let Me influence you.

As I woke up today,
God’s will for me I sought
and He said to me my child . . .
give me your every thought!

but, I don’t think you know
how to walk them too.

a real commitment

A Place Called Unknown ~

I am in this place,
they call it the unknown
but, I am convinced . . .
I’m not in it all alone.

For, I know that Jesus,
is always close and near
and the way out of it
to me He will make clear.

It’s a place of uncertainty,
of what may lie ahead
a place where I’ll need to be
by the Holy Spirit lead.

For, my own understanding,
I can’t depend on or rely
if His inspired directions
I am going to apply.

I’m in this unknown place,
for how long I don’t know
but I trust the way out . . .
to me Jesus will show!

The Voice Of My Shepherd ~

When I need to hear,
the voice of my Shepherd
I go to His Word . . .
where His voice can be heard.

It is easy to recognize,
His voice as I read . . .
for my soul He nourishes
as on His Word I feed.

When I need instructions,
to get me through the day
His voice always leads me . . .
to the Life, Truth and Way.

It is easy to follow,
the direction that He gives
for it guides me to where
the Holy Spirit lives.

When my Shepherd’s voice,
I need to hear and know
I go to my Bible . . .
and follow where He shows!

The Right Door ~

Sometimes I ask the Lord,
what are You waiting for
why haven’t You to me
opened up this door.

I’ve patiently waited,
for Your go, to go inside
but here I still stand . . .
stuck on the outside.

I don’t know why,
this door is yet shut
the way into it . . .
looks to me clear-cut.

Through the keyhole,
I took myself a look
and saw everything
I thought was by the Book.

Knowing God’s Will ~

Knowing God’s will,
takes a lot of patience
before He reveals
all He has awaiting us.

It takes a heart yielding,
to know just what to do
it takes a life willing
to wait till He shows how to.

Knowing God’s will,
takes a lot of believing
that His plans for you
one day you’ll be receiving.

It takes one step at a time,
made with faith and trust
for us to be able to see
the purposes He has for us.

Knowing God’s will
doesn’t come to us overnight
it takes time for God . . .
to reveal His divine insight!

Arid Places ~

When my soul is thirsty,
as if it was in a drought
to God I go right to . . .
with all my fear and doubt.

For I know He’ll guide me,
through this arid place

Choices ~

Life can be challenging,
with lots of highs and lows
all depending on the way
in which we have chose.

For it’s all about our choices,
we daily have to make
that determines if we keep
heading for the narrow gate.

Life can be difficult,
with lots of curves and bends
plenty of different ways
leading us to dead ends.

For it’s not always clear,
which road we need to take
but, until God shows us . . .
we need to step on the brake.

Life can be challenging,
but, it really needn’t be
if we left the choice to God . . .
every good path we would see!

Sometimes God Nudges Me ~

Sometimes God nudges me,
to see if I am listening
to that still small voice
inside me whispering.

He wants to see if I’ll heed,
to His inaudible leading
to see if to His guidance
I’m willing to be yielding.

He applies gentle pressure,
in my heart and on my mind
to see if His plans for me
I’m willing to go and find.

He wants to see if I’ll ask,
to be by Him directed
and if by His wisdom
I’m willing to be perfected.

Sometimes God nudges me,

to see if I am willing . . . .
to really know His will!

Along The Righteous Path ~

Along the righteous path,
there are promise galore
for us to discover . . .
to search and explore.

For God promised to lead us,
on the road that is straight
and to show us the Way . . .
to get to the narrow gate.

He said we could ask Him,
for His guidance, divine
and to give us the endurance
to make it to the finish line.

God said it wouldn’t be easy,
there would be lots of stress
but He’d give us the grace
to continue to onward press.

He said we’d find His favor,
His mercy and goodness . . .
to reveal His purposes and plans
so to prove to us His kindness.

Along the righteous path,
God promised He’d lead
and we will find them all . . .

Whenever I need,
God to inspire . . .
when my Spirit needs
to be lifted higher.

Whenever my faith,
needs to be corrected

to get redirected.

For they give to me,
precise instructions
how to overcome
worldly seductions.

some good old reproof

Lord, into this valley,

If God’s hand is guiding,

If God is our Shepherd,

if we’re to be alert

The hands that molded you,

Waiting Till God Answers ~

When not sure of what to do,
and God hasn’t answered you
when you’re feeling down and out
and you’re full of fear and doubt.

That’s the time you need to look,
for His promises in the Good Book
you’ll find the remedy for your needs
when to His Word your spirit heeds.

When you’re troubles take over you,
and worry surrounds all you do
when you’re down and feeling sad
and your anxieties mount and add.

That’s the time you need to pray,
asking the Lord to lead the way
He will show you where to go
and His directions you will know.

When you need answered prayer,
be still as you wait to hear
for God promises with His eye
to make for you the way clear!
