A Mop and A Broom In Every Room ~

I wander through my mind,
go from room to room
and in each one I find
a mop and a broom.

In the room of rebellion,
with all its dirt and grime
I sweep away all my sins
He washes away the slime.

In the room of panic,
with all its anxious fears
I sweep away my concerns
He washes away my tears.

In the room of sorrow,
with all the loss I’ve known
I sweep away my grief
He washes away my groan.

In the room of anguish,
with all its hurt and pain
I sweep away my faults
He washes away the stain.

In the room of doubt,
with every regret and qualm
I sweep away my disbelief
He washes me in His calm!

“Wash me throughly
from mine iniquity,
and cleanse me
from my sin.”

God Forgives And Forgets ~

Not only does God forgive,
He too completely forgets
every one of your sins
along with all of your regrets.

He blots out your mistakes,
and every transgression
once to Him you give Him
your heartfelt confession.

He remembers no more,
your past evil misdoings
He removes the wickedness
of your wrongdoings.

He throws behind His back,
your misdeeds and distrust
and all of your actions
He would consider unjust.

God forgives and forgets,
and you really must too . . .
by focusing on what’s ahead
not what is behind you!

~~~~~~~~
Isaiah 43:25
I, even I, am he that blotteth
out thy transgressions for mine
own sake, and will not
remember thy sins.
Psalm 103:12
As far as the east
is from the west,
so far hath he removed
our transgressions from us.
Philippians 3:13
Brethren, I count not myself
to have apprehended:
but this one thing I do,
forgetting those things
which are behind, and
reaching forth unto those
things which are before,
Garments Of Rags ~
My garments were but rags,
dirty, stained and torn
they were old and ugly
and sinfully worn.
But, Jesus in exchange,
for my filthy clothing
knew God looked on them
with disgust and loathing.
So He took His own blood,
and washed away my sin
and now I am . . . .
cleansed from within.
Then He took my filthy rags,
gave to me a bride’s dress
so that to His Father
I could have access.
And now my garments,
are snowy white . . .
so before God I may stand
holy in His sight!
~~~~~~~~

Isaiah 1:18

Come now, and let us reason together,
saith the Lord: though your sins be as
scarlet, they shall be as white as snow;
though they be red like crimson,
they shall be as wool.

Isaiah 64:6

But we are all as an unclean thing,
and all our righteousnesses are as
filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf;
and our iniquities, like the wind,
have taken us away.

Something Wonderful ~

God takes broken things,
makes them beautiful . . .
He can make them for Him
functional and usable.

For when He mends,
the despair inside
all the regret and pain
has no place to reside.

God takes contrite hearts,
and makes them whole
He can turn the repentant
into a peaceful soul.

For when He takes,
the sorrow they feel
their lives He will begin
to restore and to heal.

God turns our brokenness,
into something wonderful
He takes our sin and shame
making us to Him ~ beautiful!

~~~~~~~~
Isaiah 61:3
To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion,
to give unto them beauty for ashes,
the oil of joy for mourning, the garment
of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
that they might be called trees of
righteousness, the planting of the Lord,
that he might be glorified.
It’s All About God’s Grace ~
It’s all about God’s grace,
not about what you do
it’s all about Jesus . . .
and what He did for you.
For grace is forgiving,
it frees you from your sin
it’s not something earned
or anything you can win.
It’s all about God’s grace,
His mercy and favor . . .
it’s all about having faith
in Christ, Jesus your Savior.
For grace is liberating,
there is no cost to you
Jesus paid the full price
there’s nothing left to do.
It’s all about God’s grace,
the confession of sin
it’s all about repentance
to be cleansed from within.
For grace will set you free,
from under satan’s claws
all you need is faith . . . .
for grace erased the laws.
It’s all about grace,
liberating and freeing
it is a gift from God . . .
well worth your receiving!
it is the gift of God:”
Would, Should & Could “Of’s”
In the life of “would of’s”,
there are many regrets
full of accusations . . .
with negative effects.
But, God doesn’t remember,
our past sinful ways
for behind His back . . .
is where they now stay.
In the life of “should of’s”
there are lots of complaints
full of reminders . . .
of our lack of restraint.
But, Jesus makes it clear,
the old has passed away
all things are made new
once on the narrow way.
In the life of “would of’s”,
there’s a lot of “should of’s”
and to make matters worse
we throw in all the “could of’s”.
But, God forgives us,
of everyone of our “of’s”
be it would, should or could . . .
they’re all redeemed by His love!
James 3:2
For in many things we offend all.
If any man offend not in word,
the same is a perfect man, and
able also to bridle the whole body.
Isaiah 38:17
Behold, for peace I had great
bitterness: but thou hast in
love to my soul delivered it
from the pit of corruption:
for thou hast cast all my
sins behind thy back.
Easer Of My Care ~
Lord of my comfort,
easer of my care . . .
I praise You for always
being for me there.
Through all the trials,
the concern and worry
You give me the faith
to make the journey.
Lord of my grace,
forgiver of my sin
Your perfect peace
I now have within.
Though I am weak,
you’ve made me strong
no longer are You angry
for the things I did wrong.
Lord of my life,
reliever of my fear
You give me hope . . .
just knowing You’re near!
The Cloud of Past Sin ~
When the cloud of past sin,
darkens up your way . . .
remember God wiped out
misdeeds of yesterday.
He remembers never more,
the wicked things once done
now He only sees you through
the grace of His Son.
When the cloud of former sin,
moves across your path . . .
remember you no longer
will have to face God’s wrath.
He forgets all about,
your former wickedness
now He only sees you through
the eyes of righteousness.
When the cloud of ancient sin,
starts to descend down upon you
remember God has blotted out . . .
your past from His eternal view!
~~~~~~~~~~

Isaiah 44:22

I have blotted out,
as a thick cloud,
thy transgressions,
and, as a cloud, thy sins:
return unto me;
for I have redeemed thee.

Forgiveness Is Like An Eraser ~

 Forgiveness is like an eraser,
God wipes our sins away
once we confess and repent
for them we don’t have to pay.

For, the slate He rubs clean,
of our every offense
tis why He sent Jesus . . .
to come to our defense.

God doesn’t keep a notebook,
filled up with all our failures
He doesn’t use a magic marker
to highlight our bad behaviors.

For, the only list He is keeping,
are names in the Book of Life
tis why He sent Jesus . . .
to bear the brunt of our strife.

Forgiveness is like an eraser,
the slate has been wiped cleaned
ever since Jesus gave His own life
so ours could be redeemed!

~~~~~~
John 3:16
For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him
should not perish,
but have everlasting life.
thy sins: return unto me;
for I have redeemed thee.
A Merciful Heart ~
Lord, give me a heart merciful,
tender, ready to forgive
give me a heart of kindness
not one testy and combative.
Let it be a heart of compassion,
filled with Your loving grace
Lord, give me a heart lenient
as Yours is for the human race.
Lord, give me a heart merciful,
overflowing with Your goodness
give me a heart sympathetic
not one cold, bitter or ruthless.
Let it be a heart of empathy,
where pardon makes its home
Lord, give me a heart benevolent
like Yours is from Your throne.
Lord, give me a heart merciful,
one that’s animosity free
give me a heart forgiving
just like Yours is towards me!
Forgiveness Will Not Come Unless ~
Forgiveness is impossible,
in hearts not Spirit filled
forgiveness will not come . . .
unless in God, hearts are stilled.
Forgiveness is unlikely,
in hearts made of stone
forgiveness will not come . . .
unless in God, hearts are His own.
Forgiveness will not happen,
in hearts that blame and resent
forgiveness will not come . . .
unless in God, hearts are content.
Forgiveness is unachievable,
in hearts that are not forgiven
forgiveness will not come . . .
unless in God new hearts are given.
Forgiveness is impossible,
in hearts without Jesus
forgiveness will not come until . . .
a heart of flesh He puts in us!
Do Not Be Troubled ~
do-not-be-troubled-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann
Do not be troubled,
do not be afraid
though you think Jesus
your heart has betrayed.
For, there isn’t anything,
stopping Him from loving You
even when you deny Him
in the things you say and do.
Do not be downcast,
do not be disheartened
though Jesus you’ve failed
He has not departed.
For, Jesus sees you’re weak,
He knows you’re in distress
all He wants from you . . .
is your failures to confess.
Do not be troubled,
don’t stay from Him away
Jesus wants to restore
your faith, in Him today!
~~~~~~~~

John 13:37-38

“Peter said unto him,
Lord, why cannot I follow
thee now? I will lay down
my life for thy sake.

Jesus answered him,
Wilt thou lay down thy life
for my sake? Verily, verily,
I say unto thee, The cock
shall not crow, till thou
hast denied me thrice.

ye believe in God,
believe also in me.”

The Heart of Flesh ~

The Heart of Flesh ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

The heart of stone says,
you, I’ll never forgive
the one of flesh replies
more love to you I’ll give.

The heart of stone says,
get far away from me
the one of flesh responds
I’ll show you more mercy.

The heart of stone says,
I don’t what to see your face
the one of flesh implores
to you I’ll give more grace.

The heart of stone says,
I don’t want you here
the one of flesh reacts
for you I’m always near.

The heart of stone says,
you, have hurt me so
the one of flesh answers
I’ll let the past things go.

The heart of stone says,
from me get thee away
the one of flesh believes
in doing things God’s way!

God Remembers No More ~

Remember No More ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

God remembers no more,
our sin, our disgrace . . .
His mercy forgets them
thru our faith in His grace.

Our past shortcomings,
He’ll not again analyze
for our former failures
we won’t be penalized.

God remembers no more,
our mistakes, our shame
on our souls He took pity
so His peace we could claim.

All of our rebellion,
He envisions no more
our earlier transgressions
He’ll not again explore.

God remembers no more,
our shame, our sin . . .
no longer do we need
to carry disgrace within!

God’s Forgiveness ~

God's Forgiveness ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

God’s forgiveness,
is limitless
His long-suffering
is timeless.

It is non-stopple,
it’s boundless
it is without borders
it’s endless.

God’s forgiveness,
is inexhaustible
His love for us
it’s incomprehensible.

It is vast,
it’s immeasurable
it is immense
it’s perpetual.

God’s forgiveness,
is everlasting
His patience is beyond
our understanding!

God’s Mercy, Love and Grace ~

God's Grace, Mercy and Love ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann ~

Sometimes my mind wanders,
all over the place . . .
but, it always comes back
to God’s amazing grace.

Some days I try to make it,
on my very own . . .
but, I’m always lead back
to God’s loving throne.

Sometimes my faith,
begins to doubt and waiver
but, I’m always brought back
to God’s abundant favor.

Sometimes for my wrongs,
I still feel I am guilty
but, it always comes around
to God’s tender mercy.

Sometimes my feet roam,
as I run the faithful race . . .
but, they always return
to God’s mercy, love and grace!

Guilt Free ~

Not Guitly used with permission IBible Verses

God, forgives you,
and you must too
or else your guilt
will eat away at you.

Guilt is your enemy,
it devours the soul
only Jesus can heal
and make it whole.

Guilt condemns you,
it’ll convict and blame
only Jesus’ love bears
all of your shame.

Guilt is destructive,
with it you’ll contend
but, on Jesus’ grace
you can depend.

God, forgives you,
and you must too
for Jesus took guilt’s
punishment for you!

The Root of Bitterness ~

The Root of Bitterness ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

The root of bitterness,
digs deep into our soul
fighting so ever hard
to take complete control.

It’s entirely entrenched,
in resentment and regret
holds tightly to our heart
so the past we’ll not forget.

It puts a choke hold on,
the thoughts in our mind
in the hopes God’s peace
we won’t be able to find.

It establishes itself,
before we even know
until on the outside
our anger starts to show.

The only way to kill,
the root of bitterness
is to apply to it . . .
God’s love and forgiveness!

The Candle of My Soul ~

Love candle by Russell Matin free photo #1004

Lord light the wick,
to the candle of my soul
so I can peer into . . .
each crevice, every hole.

Let Your light shine,
on any leftover sin
that is still hiding
unrepented, deep within.

Turn up the heat,
keep fanning the flame
until I call out . . .
each sin by its name.

Let Your light expose,
in my heart, let it reveal
every evil notion
I still try to conceal.

Turn up the heat,
keep fanning the flame
until I call out . . .
each thought by its name.

Lord light the wick,
to the candle of my soul
until forgiveness  . . .
fills up each gaping hole!

I Forgive You ~

Forgive ~CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann ~

God forgives me,
and you, I do too
though I’m not happy
with the things, you do.

But, by His grace,
and mercies ever tender
a forgiving heart to you
I am willing to render.

God forgives me,
I am not without sin
daily over kindness
there’s a battle, to win.

But, in His strength,
I fight off the attack
turning to Jesus for
the meekness, I lack.

God forgives you,
for what you’ve done
I forgive you too . . .
because of His Son!

Forgiveness in the Son ~

forgiveness CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

It’s not that I don’t remember,
it’s just that I choose to forget
my life as I lived it . . .
before the day Jesus and I met.

It’s not that I can’t recall,
the places that I have been
but, I know it’s just the devil
who wants to visit my past sin.

It’s not that I don’t regret,
or feel the shame of disgrace
it’s just that I know I’m forgiven
because of Jesus’ awesome grace.

It’s not that I don’t consider,
my life before I was saved
it’s just that I don’t want to be
to my former days enslaved.

So, don’t throw in others faces,
the wrong things they have done
for, we’re all a bunch of sinners
needing to forgive every one!

Just Like Peter!

Messed Up by kelly Sikkema free photo #16451

Lord, how many times have I denied You,
unlike Peter, I know of more than three
yet, just like Peter all I really wanted
was to follow and go along with Thee.

Lord, how many times did I reject,
the promises I found in Your Word
for, when faced with life’s impossibilities
I acted as if these truths, I never heard.

Lord, how many times did I refuse,
the path You had laid out for me
for, when my selfish pride took control
Your plans I didn’t want to see.

Lord, how many times did I decline,
Your mercy and endless grace
for, when I found  true contentment
it wasn’t You, who I embraced.

Lord, how many times have I denied,
too many to count, I do fear
that is why today I offer You . . .
my repentant, regretful tears!

The Treasure of My Tears ~

Tears by John Emery free photo #14718

Lord, how wonderful is Your compassion,
that You would notice all my fears
how tender is Your undying love
that You’ve numbered all my tears.

My tears are like a treasure,
to You when they fall
for when I’m in need of comfort
it’s on Your name that I call.

You know of my past afflictions,
You’ve seen my seasons of drought
You watched as I have struggled
when with You I had my doubt.

And though I have strayed,
my heart always belonged to You
it’s because of Your great love
my wanderings weren’t accrued.

Lord, how wonderful You are,
for being with me all these years
how tender for me is Your mercy
as You gather up my repentant tears!

Heart Matter ~

Forgiveness used with permission Doorpost Verses

Bitterness is resentment’s kin,
the two go hand in hand
when one falls down the other one
will be there to help it stand.

Bitterness says I won’t forgive,
resentment tells you why
put them both together
and you’ll hear their heated cry.

Bitterness blames everyone,
other than its own self
resentment holds on to the past
so not to incriminate itself.

Bitterness can’t believe,
all the bad things that have happen
resentments says it’s just not fair
and others shouldn’t be forgiven.

Bitterness excels at hurtful things,
resentment can do even better
and when they work collectively
Jesus can’t get to the heart matter.

The Power of Forgiveness ~

Forgiveness used with permission Doorpost Verses

There is nothing quite like,
the power of forgiveness
nothing is so freeing
as letting go of bitterness.

There nothing quite like,
forgiving and forgetting
undoing the damage done
without doubt or regretting.

There is nothing quite like,
a heart willing to believe
the words ~ I am sorry
so peace it can receive.

There is nothing quite like,
mending hurt feelings
resolving lifelong issues
to bring inner healing.

There is nothing quite like,
the attitude of humility
letting go and letting God
turn discord into tranquility.

There is nothing quite like,
the power of God’s grace
the pure joy of release
when forgiveness we embrace!

Broken Wings ~

Breath Deep used with permission IBible Verses

With tattered wings,
God’s eagles fly
but they can’t soar
up too high.

For on their wings,
they carry pain
to reach new heights
would be a strain.

Broken wings,
can’t take on air
life to them
has been so unfair.

Hurt has clipped,
their wings spread
all the eagles know
is what they dread.

Eagles wings,
chained to the past
cannot take off
no matter the draft.

They need Jesus,
to set them free
from all the drama
and its misery.

Only then,
can they soar and fly
when to their past
they let it die!

No ~ Not Even One!

10 Comandments used with permission Creation Swap

Her heart was filled with lust,
her spirit was broken down
she was sought by the men
who lived all through her town.

She lived her life in darkness,
she knew she would be stoned
yet, she carried on in her sin
till her secret was made known.

They caught her red-handed,
right in the sinful act
and they brought her to Jesus
with all the details of the fact.

They asked Him to judge her,
to indict her for her sin
they even called Him their Master
in hopes a ruling they would win.

He knew she was an adulterous,
told the blood thirsty crowd so
then He said, “You without sin”
go ahead and cast the first throw.

They caught her in her sin,
they saw the crime she had done
but they could not condemn her
no ~ not even one!

What if Jesus?

Forgive

I question those Christians,
who say they love the Lord
and yet to forgive others
their hearts can’t get on board.

They tithe and go to church,
sometimes they read their Bible
but to those who’ve hurt them
they still hold them accountable.

They’ve chosen not to forget,
nor give to God their pain
to do so would mean
their suffering would be in vain.

For deep in their souls,
they’ve become the judge
and to forgive others means
their hearts would have to budge.

So they cling on to the past,
with hearts as cold as stone
instead of letting God
judge from His throne.

I wonder if they ever think,
what if Jesus had thought this way
I wonder what these Christians . . .
would then have to say!
