~ The Blessings of Spring ~
There are many blessings,
that each new Spring brings
you can see it bloom about
and hear the song it sings.
With winters bleakness over,
and brighter days ahead
comes promises of new life
Springtime loves to spread.
As God unfolds the flowers,
and their buds begin to show
He gives to us the assurance
grace in our hearts will grow.
He sends us the robin’s song,
with the promise to provide
a shelter under His mighty wing
where in His love we can abide.
He melts the snowy covers,
and sends the refreshing rain
sprinkling us with His mercies
to heal winter’s ache and pain.
God’s given to all His Son,
to shed upon us a new light
and the real blessing of Spring . . .
is keeping Jesus in our sight!
~~~~~~~~~~~~
“For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and
gone; The flowers appear on the earth; the
time of the singing of birds is come, and the
voice of the turtle is heard in our land;”
Thank you for your Spring-time poem. Regarding the Bible verse at the end, I found it serendipitous that God hears the voice of the turtle. I’m known as a turtle in our family due to my o c c a s i o n a l g o i n g s l o w. Have you ever heard the voice of the turtle? Thanks for your like on my page!
Can’t say that I have heard the voice of a turtle . . . but I read that this verse was referring to the voice of a turtledove . . which I have never heard either 🙂 But, I do like the song of springtime from the many different birds that are in my neck of the woods!
Would love to use this one (The Blessings of Spring) as we journey into April. This also hit in all the good places as I had a small health scare this past weekend and came to find out I am overly stressed, this brings me such peace and a reminder to keep Christ in all I do. Thank you for your wonderful reminder that, indeed, “Spring is coming. “ As I read your poem, my mind was flooded with warm memories from childhood when I made my acting debut as “Robin Redbreast” in the second grade with the line “Spring is coming. . . Spring is coming. . . Spring is coming!” The same message is echoed in the poignant lyrics of Steven Curtis Chapman’s song of the same title. I especially appreciate the closing stanza of your poem:
God’s given to all His Son,
to shed upon us a new light
and the real blessing of Spring . . .
is keeping Jesus in our sight!
Good morning Deborah Ann, I am enjoying your poetry and Sticky Notes … thank you for taking the time to create and share! From time to time I like to share scripture printed on a picture that I take. I use common fonts available through photo shop or iphoto. However, I really like how you use different and eye catching fonts when writing your sticky notes. Do you mind sharing with me how you get those different fonts?
