Whatever Comes ~
Lord, this new year,
I am trusting You
what comes my way
to bring me through.
If there be sunshine,
I’ll delight in the rays
knowing they’ll lead me
to Your truth and ways.
If there be clouds,
hanging over my head
I’ll not let them fill me
with fear of dread.
If the skies open up,
out of the blue
my anchor will be set
right into You.
Lord this new year,
in You I’m trusting
be there clear skies
or storms gusting!

For Those Who Love God ~
For those who love God,
we know He is working
His purpose in our lives
for the good He’s preparing.
He uses our weary moans,
and our thankful sighs
He uses our lowest lows
and our highest highs.
For those who love God,
we know there’s a reason
we know He is working
in us in every season.
He uses the sunny days,
and long stormy nights
He uses the dark times
and the one shining bright.
For those who love God,
we know He has a purpose
for with a great price . . .
our lives He has purchased!

Good Things ~
I cling no longer,
on the edge of loss
for I’ve placed my sorrow
up on the cross.
I sit no longer,
on the edge of despair
for I stand on knowing
God hears my prayer.
I hold no longer,
on the edge of grief
I’m free in knowing
God’s love spells relief.
I hang no longer,
on the edge of fear
Iโm fixed on knowing
God is always near.
Though my pain,
at times is hard to take
I know good things
out of it God will make!

Not Mine, But God’s ~
God’s strength, not mine,
my sin, His forgiveness
God’s power, not mine
my battles, His fight.
God’s desires, not mine,
my needs, His supply
God’s demands, not mine
my weakness, His might.
God’s faithfulness, not mine,
my defiance, His mercy
God’s compassion, not mine
my rebellion, His favor.
God’s plans, not mine,
my bad, His good
God’s time, not mine
my life, His design.
God’s kindness, not mine
my shame, His grace
God’s Son, my salvation
my guilt, His redemption.
God’s strength, not mine,
my hope, His promise
God’s peace, not mine
my trust, His alone!

In God’s Training Room ~
In God’s training room,
there’s a lot for us to learn
for, He wants to teach us
He’s with us at every turn.
We wrestle with the pain,
weep long into the night
so God can show us
the joy in His morning light.
We confront our sorrow,
the source of our fears
so God can collect for us
in His bottle all our tears.
We struggle with our past,
we scramble with its strife
so God can help us see
the temperance of this life.
In God’s training room,
He’s teaching us to know
all thing work for good
to them who love Him so!

Life Isn’t Fair ~
God’s purposes are bigger,
than all of our troubles
He has His reason
for each of our struggles.
God uses our problems,
to temper our hearts
so His grace and mercy
in them He can impart.
God uses our worries,
to help us focus on
why He sent into this world
His own begotten Son.
God uses our burdens,
so we can learn to be
dependent on Jesus
not in what we can see.
God’s purposes are grander,
than our every care . . .
that’s why in the Bible
you won’t hear, life is fair!

For Our Own Good ~

God is at work in us,
He knows what’s good
He knows whether
we’ll do as we should.
He is in control,
over all things right
He knows whether
we’ll follow His light.
For our own good,
God’s working in us
He knows whether
we’ll doubt or trust.
He has a purpose,
each day for our life
He knows whether
it’ll bring joy or strife.
God is at work in us,
for what’s good and right
and those who love Him
do so, with all their might!
“And we know that all things
work together for good to them
that love God, to them who are
the called according to his purpose.”

God’s Always Up to Something ~
God works in ways,
I don’t always understand
but His plans for my life
He’s giving to me firsthand.
He’s always up to something,
on this, I can be sure . . .
yetย whenย I need a remedy
He will haveย for me a cure.
No matter what He’s doing,
I know it’s for my best . . .
for whenย I needย a breather
He provides a place to rest.
When I have questions,
there’sย purpose in His advice
if I really heed and listen ย . . .
I don’t have to ask Him twice.
God works in ways,
I cannot always see . . .
for He is always working
something good inside of me!

All Things Will Work Out ~
All things for my good,
will work out . . .
a promise I will claim
in it, I will not doubt.
I may not understand,
how this could ever be
with so many trials . . .
right now surrounding me.
But, as God is busy doing,
Jesus told me not to worry
to stand steadfast and firm
not to be in a big hurry.
For, what He is performing,
is being tried just like gold
so onto this assurance . . .
in my heart, I will hold.
All things for my good,
God is working out . . .
the love I have forย Him
will dispel any doubt!

God Has Placed Me Here ~
God has placed me here,
in this land of the unknown
in this sea of uncertainty
so His will may be known.
I know not what He has in store,
I know not where He will lead
but I know I must trust in Him
to His ways I need to heed.
It’s my duty to be humble,
to show Him my gratitude
for He is sovereign
and I must adjust my attitude.
There’s nothing that I can do,
no miracle I can perform
but I know I will be blessed
and my life He will transform.
He doesn’t owe me anything,
yet, He’s gracious with His mercy
it’s through the blood of Jesus
that in His eyes I’m even worthy.
God has placed me here,
in this place of hope and trust
so I will wait for Him . . .
to do what I know He must!

Lemons!
When given a lemon . . .
we’re suppose to make lemonade
it’s a saying I’ve always heard
but, not one I’ve always made.
You see, I don’t like lemonade,
unless it’s sweeten by God’s grace
then the sourness of this life
I am able to peel away and face.
For what is lemonade,
it cannot quench the real thirst
unless we stir in the goodness
of Jesus’ love ~ into it first.
His love takes out the tartness,
the bitterness and the acidity
it unpeels the sin and grime
pares back the heart’s frigidity.
It removes the hardened core,
it softens up the outer peeling
His loves gets right to the soul
for a refreshing ~ inner healing.
So, if you are anything like me,
and lemonade you abhor . . .
the next time you get a lemon
sweeten it with the love of the Lord!

Let Go ~
Let go, and let God,
do what is best
even though we must
go through the test.
Let go, and let faith,
work all things out
even though we may have
some lingering doubt.
Let go, and let the Spirit
guide and lead
lest we forget
our spiritual need.
Let go, and let trust,
do its part
even though we may have
a wavering heart.
Let go, and let Christ,
give His perfect rest
so He can show us . . .
how much we are blessed!
