Jesus Promised Us ~

Life can be crushing,
with troubles unbearable
but, Jesus promised us . . .
all things are repairable.

It can be traumatic,
with issues terrifying
but, Jesus promised us . . .
a faith fortifying.

Life can be burdensome,
with cares overwhelming
but, Jesus promised us . . .
the Holy Spirit’s indwelling.

It can be intense,
and oh so very staggering
but, Jesus promised us . . .
with Him we’ll be gathering.

Life can be frightful,
painfully sorrowful . . .
but, Jesus promised us
a life more hopeful!

God rebuilds,
from the rumble
He restores
those humble.

He regenerates,
the broken soul
He heals and mends
til it’s again whole.

God reconstructs,

He recovers
a life fractured.

He reshapes,

He remolds

A Happily Ever After ~

There is a happily,
ever after . . . .
a place filled with joy
eternal laughter.

But until we’re in heaven,
troubles there will be
but, Jesus says until then
to have peace in Me.

There will be a happy,
forevermore . . .
a place where death
will be no more.

But, until Jesus comes,
to rule and to reign
we will experience
sorrow, grief and pain.

There can’t be happiness,
in this world we’re living
but, one day there will be
not one eye found crying!

When your world comes crashing down,

run to Jesus and His loving arms . . .
for He’ll protect you without delay.

run to Jesus for His strength . . .
and find the power of His might.

and your burdened by your care
run to Jesus for His help . . .
for His support is always there.

When your tears fall like acid rain,

and His peace into it He will impart.

If Only More People ~

If only more people,
would others forgive
oh, what a better world . . .
in which we would live.

Then there would be,
no more sorrow and grief
for bitterness would be

Waters Healing~

In the depth of despair,
there is a gulf of grief . . .
where the sorrows of life
makes us beg for relief.

The hurting soul can’t calm,
or remove its own heartbreak
it needs the healing touch
of the One who won’t forsake.

We thirst for waters healing,
a peaceful resting place
where we can forget the pain
that’s so unbearable to face.

The grieving soul can’t let go,
nor cause the ache to part
only God can relieve . . .
the throbbing in its heart.

In the depth of despair,

are you looking for peace

The Depth of God’s Mercy ~

When I am knee high,
in grief and sorrow
when I am anxious
about each tomorrow.

I look at the span,
of God’s mercy . . .
instead of the extent
of my worry.

When I am waist deep,
in the vast unknown
when fear’s grip
clinches my backbone

I look to the depth,
of God’s grace . . .
instead of the expanse
of the dark space.

When I am as low,
as I can possibly go . . .
I look to the favor
God on me bestows!

This Peace ~

I never knew this peace,
that God has imparted
I never knew this calm
keeping my heart guarded.

I truly don’t understand,
or know how to explain
why I don’t feel wracked
by this unbearable pain.

I could never imagine,
a mind not over fraught
or how joy can capture
each and every thought.

It’s past comprehension,
way beyond my grasp . . .
how tightly God can keep
one’s heart within His clasp.

But, I know this one thing,
no where else could I find
for, the peace Jesus brings . . .
isn’t like any other kind!

He watches them drip

how onto hope we grip.

He knows our pain,
He understands the cause
He knows why we beg Him
to give our anguish a pause.

Grief is a process,
time it does not know
it keeps its own rhythm
tis why it ebbs and flows.

It swells like a wave,
rising in your chest
you never know when
it will rise or crest.

Grief is a phase,
time means not a thing
it keeps its own beat
tis why it’s so cutting.

It stuns like a blow,
hitting in your face
you never know when
for one you should brace.

Grief is a transition,
time has no meaning
but, we who trust God . . .
know joy will be coming!

Seasons ~

I’ve suffered through seasons,
with pain too much to bear
periods of ongoing grief
where tears became my prayer.

I’ve sailed though seasons,
with carefree, untroubled days
weeks, months and even years
singing nothing but my praise.

I’ve struggled through seasons,
with doubt propelling me
to question why I believed
in the things I couldn’t see.

I’ve strolled through seasons,
with faith so unshakeable
my hope and trust in God
was clearly unbreakable.

I’ve been through many,
different kinds of seasons
and through them all I found
God had for each a reason!

We All Have Bouts ~

We all have difficulties,
some frailties, some weakness
we all have bouts . . .
of despair and bleakness.

We all have limitations,
some mental, some physical
we all have bouts . . .
of feeling measly pitiful.

We all have challenges,
some prolonged, some brief
we all have bouts . . .
of sadness and grief.

We all have deficiencies,
some flaws, some cracks
we all have bouts . . .
of feeling out of whack.

But we who have Jesus,
all things can overcome
because we know just where
our power comes from!

Opt For Joy ~

 

Opt for joy,
it will not disappoint
if you do
it’ll be a turning point.

For joy always brings,
a sense of relief
as you give to Jesus
the cause of your grief.

Prefer joyfulness,
over being downtrodden
let the love of Jesus
make your smile broaden.

For happiness is a choice,
each day we can make
and rejoicing in the Lord
will cause a grin to break.

Choose joy,
you’ll be happier if you do
then just watch what Jesus  . . .
is willing to do for you!
