takes trust courageous
they take knowing
God will deliver us.

Hopeless situations,
takes prayers plentiful
they take believing
God’s arm is stretchable.

Dire circumstances,
takes faith fearless
they take convincing
God knows His business.

Dreadful conditions,
takes belief unbelievable
they take awareness
with God all is achievable.

Desperate times,
takes prayer, faith and trust
they take confidence
God will come rescue us!

Beyond Thanksgiving Day ~

beyond-thanksgiving-day-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

Thanksgiving is more,
than food and football
it goes way beyond . . .
turkey on the table.

Thanksgiving isn’t about,
just one meal we share
it goes way further . . .
then a dinner prayer.

Thanksgiving is about,
each day of the year
making sure our praise
God is able to hear.

Thanksgiving isn’t about,
a single day with family
it goes way past . . .
our sated apathy.

Thanksgiving is about,
being thankful for all things
no matter what in this life . . .
to your table that it brings!

with thanksgiving

Grace To The Humble ~

grace-for-the-humble-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

When trials blow,
me to the ground
when my cares
take me down.

Before I rise,
back to my feet
I pray to God
my needs to meet.

When storms blow,
through my door
when my worries
take me to the floor.

Before I get,
to my legs back
I pray to God
for the grace I lack.

For, in my life,
to God I’ve found
to humble myself
when I am down!

~~~~~~~~
James 4:6
“But he giveth more grace.
Wherefore he saith,
God resisteth the proud,
but giveth grace
unto the humble.”
Underneath The Surface ~
underneath-the-surface-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann
Underneath the surface,
below the harden crust
into someone’s heart
plant a seed of trust.
Then each day give it,
some living-water
from the streams of life
flowing from our Father.
Don’t be discouraged,
if results you don’t first see
just pray for the seed to sprout
while down on your knee.
Ask God  for it to take root,
to break thru the stony heart
then wait for the Holy Spirit
to come and do His part.
For underneath the surface,
a lot is going on . . .
and the seed of faith will grow
as it finds, the light of His Son!
On The Winds of Adversity ~
on-the-winds-of-adversity-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann
On the winds of adversity,
God seems to test us
and all we can really do . . .
is to hold on to our trust.
With each passing gale,
that rages through our life
all we can really do . . .
is to give Jesus our strife.
As the gusts keep coming,
and the storms continue on
all we can really do . . .
is to be calm til they’re gone.
With each rushing wind,
that comes about our way
all we can really do . . .
is to turn to God and pray.
For, the storms of this life,
will eventually cease
and one day Jesus will bring . . .
to our souls perfect peace!
~~~~~~~~~~

Matthew 8:26

“And he saith unto them,
Why are ye fearful,
O ye of little faith?
Then he arose,
and rebuked the winds
and the sea; and there was
a great calm.”

Prayer Prepares Us ~

prayer-changes-you-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

Prayer changes,
our thoughts
keeps our eyes on
satan’s plots.

Prayer prepares us,
to hold on fast
keeps our faith
sober and steadfast.

Prayer strengthens,
us with power
supplies courage
to the final hour.

Prayer keeps us,
fervently watchful
helps us to remain
fiercely faithful.

Prayer changes,
our thinking
it readies our eyes
for the twinkling!

“But the end of all things
is at hand:
be ye therefore sober,
and watch unto prayer.”

I Talk to God ~

i-talk-to-god-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

I talk to God,
whenever I cry
I talk to Him
when my spirits are high.

I talk to God,
when on my cell
I talk to Him
about heaven and hell.

I talk to God,
when I need strength
I talk to Him
at great lengths.

I talk to God,
in my sticky notes
I talk to Him
when His Word I quote.

I talk to God,
whatever the season
I talk to Him
no matter the reason.

I talk to God,
all of the time
He talks to me . . .
through my rhymes!

Fear Naught ~

fear-naught-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

Throughout the Bible,
we’re told not to fear
nor to be dismayed
for God is always near.

We’re told not to be,
fearful or discouraged
that in the Lord Himself
to always be encouraged.

We’re told not to worry,
God will not fail us
no matter what man does
in Him to always trust.

We’re told not to tremble,
nor to be faint-hearted
we’re told He will finish
whatever He has started

We’re told to our prayers,
God will bend His ear
that we needn’t doubt
our pleas He won’t hear.

We’re told perfect love,
casts out every fear . . .
that God will not forsake
but to Him, keep us near!

~~~~~~~~~
Deuteronomy 31:6
“Be strong and of a good courage,
fear not, nor be afraid of them:
for the Lord thy God, he it is
that doth go with thee; he will
not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”
God’s Perfect Timing ~
gods-perfect-timing-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann
I prayed a prayer,
not very long ago
I’ve been waiting for
the answer to know.
It was a short prayer,
over it I didn’t labor
after it was said . . .
I left it with my Savior.
I knew my request,
was safe in His hands
now it was up to me
in faith to just stand.
And so I do trust,
God’s answer is coming
for I believe it’s about
His perfect timing.
I prayed a prayer,
now I’m quietly waiting
while God’s response . . .
He is formulating!
~~~~~~~

Lamentations 3:25-26

that wait for him,
to the soul that seeketh him.

It is good that a man should
both hope and quietly wait
for the salvation of the Lord.”

Safe And Secure ~

safe-and-secure-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

The safest shelter,
that is known to man
is coming to rest . . .
right into God’s hand.

There’s no other place,
in which we can find
a perfect defense for
the heart and mind.

The safest refuge,
in which to flee
is in the sanctuary
of bended knee

There’s no place,
that is  more securer
than when in prayer
with our soul’s insurer.

The safest abode,
that is known to man
is prayerfully finding
shelter in His hand!

Armed With Courage ~

armed-with-courage-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

Armed with courage,
I pray for everything
in faith, I ask God
without wavering.

I’ll not get tossed,
on the waves of fear
for prayers can make
muddy waters clear.

Equipped with strength,
God’s Word is my shield
as I go out each day
on prayer’s battle field.

I’ll put on my armor,
in all of its entirety
I’ll not be doubt driven
for I trust God entirely.

Armed with prayer,
brave and courageous
my faith in God . . .
makes me dangerous!

nothing wavering. For he that
wavereth is like a wave of

The Art of Being Still ~

The Art of Being Still ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

There is an art,
to this being still
this waiting on God
takes a certain skill.

It takes prayer,
to know God’s plans
it takes strength
to stay in His hands.

It takes faith,
this quiet remaining
it takes believing
in God’s perfect timing.

It takes trust,
this knowing who God is
it takes action
to do what He says.

There is an art,
to this being still
but, it’s the only way
to know God’s will!

With God Nothing is Too Hard ~

Nothing is Too Hard ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

What is impossible,
for me and you
to God it’s not
too hard to do.

There is no promise,
God can’t fulfill
there is no fear
He can’t distill.

There is no prayer,
God can’t answer
there is no storm
He can’t anchor.

There is no problem,
God can’t resolve
there is no sin
He can’t absolve.

There is no place,
God can’t send revival
there is no enemy
He can’t bridle.

What is too hard,
for each one of us
is much easier . . .
when in God we trust!

Genesis 18:14

“Is any thing too hard for the Lord?
At the time appointed I will return
unto thee, according to the time of
life, and Sarah shall have a son.”

So Many Who Need Jesus ~

So Many Who Need Jesus ~ CHRISTIan poetry by deborah ann

So many needing,
to be forgiven
so many who . . .
are evil driven.

So many without,
God’s love and grace
so many who  . . .
after the devil chase.

So many dying,
an eternal death
so many who . . .
need Jesus’ saving breath.

So many living,
without hope
so many who . . .
can’t see mercy’s scope.

So many needing,
to be saved
so many who . . .
to sin are enslaved!

Call Unto Me ~

Call Unto Me ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

Call unto Me and I will hear,
ask of Me and I will show
give unto Me your soul
and My greatness you’ll know.

Call unto Me and I will listen,
ask of Me all you want
give unto Me your eyes and ears
and My truth you’ll be taught.

Call unto Me and I will answer,
ask of Me anything
give unto Me all of your heart
and My peace to you I’ll bring.

Call unto Me and I will bestow,
ask of Me for what you need
give unto Me your mind
and My Spirit I’ll send to lead.

Call unto Me and I will fulfill,
ask of Me what you know not
give unto Me your whole life
and My power in you I’ll allot!

Prayer Make’s a Difference ~

Prayer Makes A Difference ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

When our prayers,
get no response . . .
in prayer we need
to remain ensconced.

When mustn’t give up,
or from prayer bail out
they’ll make a difference
if we have no doubt.

We cannot lose heart,
in prayer we must persist
then fear and worry
we’ll be able to resist.

We mustn’t be weary,
or faint in our prayers
we need to remember
Jesus wants our cares.

When with our prayers,
God is slow to respond
expect an answer . . .
though it may be prolonged!

unto them to this end,
that men ought always
to pray, and not to faint;”

That Secret Place ~

That Secret Place ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

I asked God . . .
where is that secret place
the one where I can find
sufficient is Your grace?

He said to me . . .
it’s right  inside of you
but you must learn to trust Me
in everything you do.

He took me to my knees,
and I poured out my heart
letting go of everything
that was keeping us apart.

I wept, I cried, I prayed,
for Him to never leave
then I heard Him whisper . . .
it’s you, who needs to cleave.

He gave me the strength,
to rise again to my feet
and said prayer is the secret place
where we can always meet!

My Prayer for Samuel ~

SAMUEL'S PRAYER
Samuel, God’s child,
His precious little one
trust Him to finish
what He has begun.

Gather your strength,
from the palm of His hands
know that He has for you
some mighty big plans.

Continue to be brave,
as this battle you fight
keep drawing on God’s
holy power and might.

Breath in His mercy,
exhale His grace
let His love for you
your tiny body embrace.

Samuel, God’s child,
Steve’s & Rachel’s precious son
stay brave, be strong . . .
believe this battle, will be won!

~~~~~~~~~
Please pray for little baby Samuel
who was born at 29 weeks 5 days,
and weighed in at 2 lbs 10 oz.
He was born into a family of great
faith and a deep love for God.
He and they need all of our prayers
for God’s strength, peace and mercy!
Amen and Amen
When Calm Eludes You ~
When Calmness Eludes ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann
When calm doesn’t come,
when peace is far away
I stop what I’m doing
and to my Father, I pray.
Prayer is my refuge,
from the dread inside me
it’s where I find comfort
from the fear, I can’t see.
When I am anxious,
when my nerves are a mess
I pray without stopping
to rid myself of distress.
I put my trust in God,
till I’m no longer afraid
His unfailing love keeps me
from becoming dismayed.
When calmness eludes you,
when peace seems so far away
the best thing you can do . . .
is stop everything and pray!
If We Want Peace ~
If We Want Peace ~ CHRISTian poety by deborah ann
If we want peace,
transforming our lives
then all of our fears
we must archive.
If we want peace,
altering our minds
then all of our cares
we must leave behind.
If we want peace,
changing our hearts
then from our worries
we must break apart.
If we want peace,
for the rest of our days
then for everything
we must learn to pray.
If we want peace,
then our attitudes
must be full of  . . .
thankful gratitude!
Philippians 4.6-7
“Be careful for nothing;
but in every thing by prayer
and supplication with
thanksgiving let your requests
be made known unto God.
And the peace of God,
which passeth all understanding,
shall keep your hearts and minds
through Christ Jesus.”
Where Are You Lord ~
MY BELOVED BY JOHN EMERY FREE PHOTO #9352
Where are You Lord,
have You forgotten me
are You so far away
that me, You can’t see?
Are You in hiding,
where then shall I find
Your peace to fill up
my soul, heart and mind?
Where are You Lord,
I have looked all around
but a glimpse of You
was nowhere to be found?
Have You nothing to say,
though I’ve so much to ask
are You under the weather
not up to the task?
Lord, where shall I go,
so that You I will see?
For, I need You to make
Your presence known to me!
Seeking God’s Favor ~
Seeking God's Favor ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann
Those who seek God’s favor,
before they start their day
find protection for their soul
as the go about their way.
Our early cries to God,
our morning meditation
are for our troubled soul
the best kind of medication.
Those who seek God’s mercy,
with a heart full of praise
find peace and tranquility
along life’s winding maze.
Our pleas for daily strength,
our prayers for our enemy
are our souls best defense
with an everlasting remedy.
Our requests to God,
our petitions for endurance
are for our thankful souls
a shield of assurance.
Those who seek God’s favor
in the early morning light
are the ones who are filled
with His power and His might!
~~~~~~~~

Psalm 5:1-3

“Give ear to my words,
O Lord, consider my meditation.

Hearken unto the voice of my cry,
my King, and my God: for unto
thee will I pray.

My voice shalt thou hear
in the morning, O Lord;
in the morning will I direct
my prayer unto thee,
and will look up.”
