I Heard From God Today~

Today Lord You showed me,
just how much you care
by giving me the answer
to my beseeching prayer.

You reached down gently,
my soul You touched
told me onto You
to keep my heart clutched.

Today Lord You reminded me,
of just how good You are
how You would never leave
or be from me very far.

Now all my doubt is gone,
there is no more fear . . .
for now I know it is You
who is always close and near.

Today Lord You showed me,
why I needn’t be dismayed
for in You there’s no reason
to be disheartened or afraid!

Loving Our Enemies ~

If our enemies we’re to love,
God’s help we will need
and to Him our pride . . .
we will have to concede.

For we need to show them,
God will forgive them too . . .
no matter of the evil things
that they are compelled to do.

If for our persecutors we’re to pray,
we’ll need Jesus to intercede
and to Him our ego’s . . .
we will have to concede.

For to pray for those who hurt us,
is not something easy to do . . .
but, we still need to show them
that Jesus loves them too.

We can love our adversaries,
and pray for our oppressors
but, mostly we need to implore
for those who are transgressors!

Be brave and strong,

or else you’ll suffer
from a faith malaise.

For His timing,
isn’t the same as ours

Prayer Changes Things ~

Prayer changes things,
it accomplishes much
it can’t not but help
pleading hearts to touch.

It is life altering,
it makes things possible
it brings results
to God desirable.

Prayer unceasing,
it is effective
to God’s power
it is connective.

It is pervasive,
it is soul changing
it keeps our trust
in Jesus clinging.

Prayer changes things,
it makes things better
it makes our faith
stronger and fitter!

Today I sent to God,
a S.O.S . . .
He replied back to me
My child don’t you stress.

He told me He was working,
on an answer to my prayer
until then I was to relax
and not fall into despair.

I asked Him how long,
He was going to take
He said it would be soon
His decision He would make.

So I took His advice,
and rested in His care
knowing His response
was somewhere out there.

I don’t know what to say

to entreat and to pray.

My words can’t gather,

Praying Night and Day ~

There are many reasons,
for us to pray . . .
to either start off
or to end our day.

For what’s in between,
our wakeful hours
we’ll need to have lots
of God’s power.

There are many needs,
we must pray for
before both our feet
even hit the floor.

For our spiritual armor,
we’lll need to have on
whether it be in the night
or at the crack of dawn.

There isn’t any reason,
we should not pray . . .
regardless of the time
of the night or day!

On my ROCKing chair,
I’m sitting peacefully
rocking to and fro
oh, so ever calmly.

Though, I have worries,
I haven’t me a care

God listens to my prayer.

rocking back and forth
oh, so ever enjoyably.

Though, I have troubles,

for I’m so confident

As life’s storms,
we come upon

with forbearance

Shopping for more souls,
he can trick and deceive

to see if there’s doubt

Intercessory Prayer ~

Intercessory prayers,
where would we be without them
for there’s healing and hope
in each beseeching gem.

Petitioning God,
holding others up in prayer

God to take away the despair.

Pleading hearts,
asking for God’s speed
to come to His saints aid
to help with their need.

Imploring souls,
requisitions for sickness
entreating Jesus to heal

Begging minds,

Sometimes I stand and wait,
in the gap of my prayer
between my plea to God
and the depth of my despair.

There seems to be a void,
an empty span of space
and though I’ve no answers
I can still sense His grace.

I walk through the abyss,
of God’s love for me
keeping my faith in Him
for what I cannot see.

I put away my fears,
in exchange for His rest
knowing I can trust in Him
as I wait for me His best.

God is not asking you,

For He already has,
an answer to your prayer
now He wants you to be
to His directions aware.

to run off and go and fix it
He’s telling you to be still . . .
so you can hear His Spirit.

When He’s ready Your answer,
He will stamp on it the date
now He’s asking you to have
the courage to sit and wait

to rush off and go do

till He shows you how to!

Sometimes When I Pray ~

Sometimes when I pray,
it feels like God’s far away
it’s as if He wasn’t there at all
when upon His name I call.

So I cry out even more,
as my requests I implore
hoping God will hear me
as to Him I make my plea.

Sometimes when I pray,
something gets in the way
it’s as if God can’t receive
the prayers to Him I leave.

The silence is deafening,
leaving me wondering
does God really bend His ear
so my prayers He can hear.

Sometimes when I pray,
it’s I, not God who is far away . . .
and I cannot hear His replies
to my beseeching cries!

A friend of the world,
is full of pride and greed
only care about what . . . .
they desire and need.

If they cannot have,

for they do not seek
after knowing God’s will.

They’ll argue and fight,
over that which brings
more lust and cravings
for worldly things.

When for answers,
I have to sit and wait
I find with myself . . .
having a great debate.

I questions if it’s just,
my will I’m praying for
or will I wait for God
to open the right door.

When for feedback,
I have to wait to hear
I listen for God . . .
to whisper in my ear.

I start to think if it’s just,
myself I’m talking to
or is God telling me . . .
what I should go and do.

When for answers,
God has me waiting
I have learned it’s not . . .
worth my debating!

Fraught With Worry ~

Often we find our hearts,
are fraught with worry
our thoughts turn into . . .
a nervous, swirling flurry.

We fret and we fuss,
over what we can’t control
until fear becomes . . .
embedded into our soul.

Often we find our minds,
are overwhelmed by dread
our thinking gets clouded . . .
by the anxiety in our head.

We get so caught up in,
our fearful trepidation
until fear’s spiny fingers . . .
takes over our circulation.

Often we find our hearts,
letting worry into our mind
keeping us from God’s peace
to discover or to find!
