Waiting In The Gap ~

Sometimes I stand and wait,
in the gap of my prayer
between my plea to God
and the depth of my despair.

There seems to be a void,
an empty span of space
and though I’ve no answers
I can still sense His grace.

I walk through the abyss,
of God’s love for me
keeping my faith in Him
for what I cannot see.

I put away my fears,
in exchange for His rest
knowing I can trust in Him
as I wait for me His best.

Sometimes I stand and wait,
in prayer’s hopeful gap . . .
and let His love and grace
my heart and soul wrap!

Daybreak ~

When in the morning,
as I first awake . . .
before the sun rises
as a new day breaks.

I thank my Father,
upon the early light
for protecting me
throughout the night.

When daybreak calls,
me out of my bed
I thank my Father
for the day ahead.

I pray for His guidance,
His shield of protection
in my break of day
sunrise reflections.

Before the sun bursts,
upon morn’s awakening
I praise my Father . . .
for today’s enlightening!

Don’t Be Tricked ~

Don’t be seduced,
be not swayed . . .
don’t let satan
your soul persuade.

For, he’ll fool you,
into believing . . .
God at your sin
is just winking.

Don’t be tricked,
be not duped . . .
don’t let satan
your faith scoop.

For, he’ll con you,
into believing
God over your sin
is not grieving.

Don’t be wooed,
be not lured . . .
into letting your faith
by sin be blurred!

God winked at; but now
commandeth all men
every where to repent:

Wait For It ~

God is not asking you,
to go figure things out
He’s asking you to wait . . .
without having any doubt.

For He already has,
an answer to your prayer
now He wants you to be
to His directions aware.

God is not saying to you,
to run off and go and fix it
He’s telling you to be still . . .
so you can hear His Spirit.

When He’s ready Your answer,
He will stamp on it the date
now He’s asking you to have
the courage to sit and wait

God is not asking you,
to rush off and go do
He’s saying wait for it . . .
and He’ll show you how to!

~~~~~~~~
Psalm 27:14
Wait on the Lord:
be of good courage,
and he shall strengthen
thine heart: wait, I say,
on the Lord.
Sometimes When I Pray ~
Sometimes when I pray,
it feels like God’s far away
it’s as if He wasn’t there at all
when upon His name I call.
So I cry out even more,
as my requests I implore
hoping God will hear me
as to Him I make my plea.
Sometimes when I pray,
something gets in the way
it’s as if God can’t receive
the prayers to Him I leave.
The silence is deafening,
leaving me wondering
does God really bend His ear
so my prayers He can hear.
Sometimes when I pray,
it’s I, not God who is far away . . .
and I cannot hear His replies
to my beseeching cries!
~~~~~~~~

I have called upon thee,
for thou wilt hear me,
O God: incline thine ear
unto me, and hear my speech.

A Friend Of The World ~

A friend of the world,
is full of pride and greed
only care about what . . . .
they desire and need.

If they cannot have,
they rob, cheat and kill
for they do not seek
after knowing God’s will.

A friend of the world,
is covetous and hostile
only care about what . . .
is in their own stockpile.

They’ll argue and fight,
over that which brings
more lust and cravings
for worldly things.

A friend of the world,
plunder, seize and amass
enemies of God because . . .
the truth they bypass!

~~~~~~~~
James 4:1-4
From whence come wars
and fightings among you?
come they not hence, even
of your lusts that war
in your members?
Ye lust, and have not: ye kill,
and desire to have, and
cannot obtain: ye fight
and war, yet ye have not,
because ye ask not.
Ye ask, and receive not,
because ye ask amiss,
that ye may consume
it upon your lusts.
Ye adulterers and adulteresses,
know ye not that the friendship
of the world is enmity with God?
whosoever therefore will be a friend
of the world is the enemy of God.
Waiting For Answers ~
When for answers,
I have to sit and wait
I find with myself . . .
having a great debate.
I questions if it’s just,
my will I’m praying for
or will I wait for God
to open the right door.
When for feedback,
I have to wait to hear
I listen for God . . .
to whisper in my ear.
I start to think if it’s just,
myself I’m talking to
or is God telling me . . .
what I should go and do.
When for answers,
God has me waiting
I have learned it’s not . . .
worth my debating!
When God You Ask ~
When you ask God,
to take over control
make sure you give Him
your whole heart and soul.
For without given Him,
your complete trust . . .
your faith cannot remain
in Him rich and robust.
When you ask Jesus,
to be Lord of your life
you must give to Him
all your worldly strife.
For if you want Him,
to lead and guide you
your worries and cares
you must cast on Him too.
When God you ask,
in Jesus’ name believe
and all of His answers . . .
you will surely receive!
whatsoever ye
shall ask in prayer,
believing, ye shall
receive
Be Joyful and Prayerful ~
Be joyful in hope,
be faithful in prayer
don’t forget to give . . .
Jesus your care.
For to be joyful,
when troubles increase
will make your anxiety
decline and decrease.
Be patient in affliction,
be steadfast and firm
don’t forget to give . . .
Jesus your concern.
For to be diligent,
when problems arise
will help you to keep
your eyes on the prize.
Be joyful and prayerful,
be so ever patient too
and never forget . . .
how much Jesus loves you!
Fraught With Worry ~
Often we find our hearts,
are fraught with worry
our thoughts turn into . . .
a nervous, swirling flurry.
We fret and we fuss,
over what we can’t control
until fear becomes . . .
embedded into our soul.
Often we find our minds,
are overwhelmed by dread
our thinking gets clouded . . .
by the anxiety in our head.
We get so caught up in,
our fearful trepidation
until fear’s spiny fingers . . .
takes over our circulation.
Often we find our hearts,
letting worry into our mind
keeping us from God’s peace
to discover or to find!
~~~~~~~~~~

Philippians 4:6-7

Be careful for nothing;
but in every thing by prayer
and supplication
with thanksgiving
let your requests be made
known unto God.

And the peace of God,
which passeth all understanding,
shall keep your hearts
and minds through Christ Jesus.

God Sees Our Tears ~

God sees our tears,
He watches them drip
He sees through them . . .
how onto hope we grip.

He knows our pain,
He understands the cause
He knows why we beg Him
to give our anguish a pause.

God sees our tears,
He notices each one fall
He sees them tumble . . .
as we weep, sob and bawl.

He knows our grief,
He empathizes with our sorrow
He knows why we pray . . .
for joy to dawn with tomorrow.

God sees our tears,
the tragic and bittersweet
for they gather together . . .
in puddles at His feet!

When Bad News Comes ~

When bad news,
I am given
to my knees
I am driven.

I pray to God,
for a heart firm
til the report
runs its term.

Whenever I hear,
things disturbing
I pray to God
to remain trusting.

I pray my faith,
will stay sturdy
so I won’t be
flanked by worry.

When bad news,
I hear and receive . . .
fearful I’m not
for in God I believe!

his heart is fixed,

Tangible Power ~

There is tangible power,
behind every prayer . . .
when to God our requests
we continually share.

There is genuine hope,
praying unceasingly
when to God we take
our prayers repeatedly.

There is eternal joy,
for others when we pray
when to God we entreat
for their souls everyday.

There is concrete faith,
praying and agreeing
when to God we remain
trusting and believing.

There is effective power,
in our daily supplicating
when to God our prayers
we keep on duplicating!

God Knows Your Heart ~

God knows your heart,
better than you . . .
He knows what your thinking
before even you do.

Before to Him you call out,
He knows what you’ll say
before you can form the words
He knows what you’ll pray.

God knows your mind,
better then you . . .
He knows your every thought
even before you do.

Before to Him you make a plea,
He knows what will be said
before you can make a sentence
He knows what’s in your head.

God know your heart,
He knows your mind too . . .
that is why He is always
thinking ahead of you!

One-By-One ~

When my cares,
are too much to bear
I give Jesus each one
in a separate prayer.

I weep, I cry,
I sob, I moan
as I cast them . . .
onto the throne.

I sit, I wait,
I kneel, I pace
as I request
more of His grace.

I sing, I praise,
I smile, I grin
as humbly I shed . . .
them right onto Him.

When from my cares,
I want to be set free
I let Jesus take them . . .
one-by-one from me!

pray my life to You
I will give control.

Heavenly Father~

Heavenly Father
hearer of my prayer
keep me safe
in Your loving care.

If I should see,
yet another day
help me to stay
on the righteous way.

Heavenly Father,
hearer of my plea
keep me close
and near to Thee.

If I should see,
yet another night
help me to keep
to the faithful fight.

Heavenly Father,
if today Jesus I see . . .
I pray to heaven
He will take me!

Answers Delayed~

Sometimes when we pray,
we don’t want any delay
to our pleas we want . . .
God to answer right away.

But as the days go by,
our tears do not dry
and we start to question
oh God, oh God, why.

Our heart grows faint,
the longer we wait . . .
our prayer soon turns
into our complaint.

We grumble and we groan,
we sniffle and we moan
causing us to wonder if. . .
our prayers reach His throne.

Sometimes when we pray,
God answers with delay
to see if our faith in Him . . .
will stand fast or fall away!

Forget You Not ~

God will answer,
He will come thru
God understands
what’s best for you.

God will respond,
He will reply
your heart’s desire
He will not deny.

God will provide,
He will brings about
your every prayer
He will not shut out.

God will supply,
He will furnish
your faith in Him
He wants to flourish.

God will answer,
He will come through
forget you naught . . .
He will never do!

Intercessory Prayer ~

Intercessory prayers,
we all need to make
for we never know . . .
the bonds we might break.

For there’s plenty of people,
who are tied up in chains
and we should be praying
for their sorrows and pains.

Intercessory prayers,
we all need to be saying
for we never know . .
whose trust needs saving.

For there’s plenty of saints,
who are besieged by troubles
and we need to be praying
they give God their struggles.

Intercessory prayers,
what music to God’s ears
as for others we beseech . . .
the collection of their tears!

and supplication in the Spirit,
and watching thereunto

supplication for all saints;

My Father In Heaven ~

Oh, my Father,
who lives in heaven
help my faith to grow
just like rising leaven.

Help me to mature,
so my fruit may ripen
let my trust in You
continue to deepen.

Oh, my Father,
may I daily call on
more of the grace
of Your beloved Son.

May my joy expand,
as my hope is proved
until our hearts
are eternally fused.

Oh, my Father,
hearer of my prayer
may for You I only have
good fruit to bear!

Hopeful and Positive ~

Father, You always keep,
Your every promise
and that is why I remain
hopeful and positive.

You are always gracious,
in all that You do
and that is why I stay
close and near to You.

Father, You always listen,
to all who call on You
and that is why I trust
You to attend to me too.

You are always there,
to help see us through
and that is why I give
my daily cares to You.

Father, You always hear,
our petitions and pleas
and that is why I know
I can always go to Thee!

~~~~~~~~~~
Psalm 55:16-17
Prayer Simply Said ~
Sometimes my prayers,
are really pretty simple . . .
for what I have to say
takes a word single.
Help,
is all my spirit can express
for I know God knows
the true depth of my distress.
Sometimes my prayers,
run really pretty deep
for what is on my heart
reduces me to weep.
I pour out to the Lord,
my worry and my care
and not a single word
do I reserve or spare.
Prayer doesn’t have to be,
too simple or too deep
for God hears no matter
how many words we speak!
~~~~~~~

Romans 8:26

Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities:
for we know not what we should pray for as
we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession
for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Under The Shade of An Olive Tree ~

Under the shade,
of an old olive tree . . .
is where Jesus often
meets alone with me.

It’s where we converse,
after prayers are said
it’s where I find myself
by His Spirit being lead.

I sit there for a spell,
listen to His prodding
with my eyes shut tight
and my head nodding.

It’s then that I open up,
my mind for His access
so on my heart His lessons
He can instill and impress.

Under the cool shadows,
of an old olive tree . . .
is where I meet Jesus
so He can disciple me!

~~~~~~
With Arms Stretched Wide ~
When I begin my day,
my arms I stretch wide
and pray to the Lord
today please be my guide.
I know it’s for my best,
for me to seek Him first
so after righteousness
until the night I’ll thirst.
As I go about the day,
my hands I stretch open
and I pray to the Lord
with words unspoken.
His Spirit speaks to me,
for He knows I hunger
to finish the race . . .
as a faithful runner.
When from the day I retire,
I stretch my arms out in bed
and pray that tomorrow . . .
I’ll continue to be Spirit led!
Can You Hear Me Now ~
Sometimes I can’t hear,
what God has to say . . .
those whispers into my ears
do not make their way.
That tranquil voice is drowned,
by all the noise pollution
making it hard with God
to hold a conversation.
Sometimes that small hush,
can’t be heard over the uproar
and those quiet little breaths
I find are so easy to ignore.
That unseen presence,
can’t get my full attention
for so many things . . .
have become a distraction.
Sometimes I hear God say,
Can you hear me now?
and I answer Him honestly . . .
please show me again just how!
In Jesus’ Name ~
There is no prayer too big,
none that are too small
for God through Jesus
promises to hear them all.
We can bring to God,
our every daily care
we can go right to Him
with whatever is our prayer.
There is no request too great,
none that are too minimal
for our supplications to God
Jesus made for us possible.
We can go to God,
no matter the time of day
He is always ready
to hear the prayers we say.
There is no prayer too big,
none that are too small
for God hears every one
when on Jesus name we call!
