The Valley of Hope ~

in-the-valley-of-hope-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

There is a valley,
I call hope . .
it’s where I gather
strength to cope.

I take my time,
as through it I go
praying all the way
God’s plans I’ll know.

I often rest,
along side a hill
it’s where I learn
how to be still.

I amble slowly,
around each bend
asking God all along
more faith He’ll send.

There is a valley,
hope is its name
where springs of trust
in God’s peace I claim!

Remember Your First Love ~

remeber-your-first-love-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

Remember your First Love,
how you once felt
how the sound of His name
made your heart melt?

Remember the hope,
how it lifted up your soul
when by His stripes
you were made whole?

Remember the joy,
how much you were elated
when your life to Jesus
you first dedicated?

Remember the grace,
how it washed over you
how God’s loving mercy
made everything new?

Remember your First Love,
how Jesus made you feel?
If not, it is time for you
to get back your zeal!

A New Heaven and Earth ~

a-new-heaven-and-earth-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

A new heaven,
a new universe
where in God’s peace
all will be immersed.

New stars there’ll be,
new galaxies too
all of God’s glory
will shine through

A new earth,
pristine and fresh
no scars on it
from acts of the flesh.

A new city,
with streets of gold
gates of pearls
opening to His fold.

A new relationship,
between God and man
for all who’ve trusted
in salvation’s plan.

A new condition,
broken hearts no more
no sorrow, no death
only bliss galore.

A new Heaven,
a new earth too . . .
oh, won’t that be
a glorious view!

according to his promise,
look for new heavens
and a new earth,
wherein dwelleth
righteousness.”

Heaven Is Surreal ~

heaven-is-surreal-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

Heaven is going to be,
awesome and surreal
for it will be a place
peacefully ideal.

It will be in Heaven,
from burdens we’ll be free
it’ll be our true happy place
full of laughter and glee.

Heaven will be a place,
where all will be healed
it is where God’s glory
will be fully revealed.

It will be in Heaven,
from our labors we’ll rest
it’ll be a place of joy
for those once oppressed.

Heaven is going to be,
filled with happiness
life will be never-ending
in the place of gladness!

God Is Our Shelter ~

god-shelters-us-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

God is our shelter,
in the storms of stress
He brings comfort
to us in our duress.

God is our shelter,
in the storms of sorrow
He gives us the joy
to face the morrow.

God is our shelter,
in the storms of fear
He brings peace
by drawing to us near.

God is our shelter,
in the storms of grief
He gives us strength
brings our hearts relief.

God is our shelter,
in all the storms of life
He brings the calm
in the midst of our strife!

In My Golden Years ~

in-my-golden-years-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

In my golden years,
my faith is mightier
my hope grows steadier
my trust gets sturdier.

The body gets weaker,
the mind is foggier
the memory grows poorer
the recollection’s fewer.

My beliefs root deeper,
my strength gets stronger
my doubts move further
my fears get lesser.

The eyes get dimmer,
the knees are creakier
the spine gets stiffer
the muscles softer.

God gets bigger,
the world gets smaller
the Lord grows nearer
my worries calmer.

In my golden years,
I am more aware . . .
God’s still concerned
about my welfare!

God Cares for You ~

Heavenly Father,
hear my prayer
so many needing
to know You care.

Give to them,
peace of mind
may Your will
they come to find.

Heavenly Father,
so many today
have fallen so far
from You away.

Give to them,
a heart revival
renew their minds
till Your arrival.

Heavenly Father,
here is my prayer
as I give You thanks
for Your love and care!

God’s Adoption Plan ~

chosen-and-loved-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

Jesus conquered the grave,
defeated death . . .
so we don’t have to fear
our dying breath.

The victory is His,
to which we are a heir
one day in Heaven
we will see Jesus there.

A free gift we were given,
when satan, Jesus defeated
and now by His grace
our faith is completed.

Blameless and holy,
before God, we will stand
for, Jesus’ death fulfilled
His Father’s adoption plan.

Jesus conquered,
what we could not do . . .
through His precious blood
in Him, we’re made new!

~~~~~~~
Ephesians 1:4-5
” According as he hath chosen
us in him before the foundation
of the world, that we should
be holy and without blame
before him in love:
Having predestinated us
unto the adoption of children
by Jesus Christ to himself,
according to the good pleasure
of his will,”
At Your Feet ~
at-your-feet-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann
Lord, some days I get so tired,
I feel as if I’m beat
and so all my weariness
I place right at Your feet.
As soon as I release,
my troubles into Your care
I no longer feel as if . . .
their mine alone to bear.
When my days are hard,
and my nights are long
its You whom I count on
to help me to be strong.
As soon as I turn over,
all of my worries to You
there is not a single thing
I feel we cannot do.
When I look for comfort,
to ease my weary mind
Lord, I know at Your feet
peace and rest I will find!
whenever faced with fear.
and all that may ail you
His stripes will heal and mend.
Feel The Joy ~
May this CHRISTmas,
find you joyful
may to the true reason
you remain hopeful.
May you not get caught,
in the season’s rush
but, instead let the joy
cause a peaceful hush.
May you be full of joy,
as you stop and ponder
how this time of year
is full of God’s wonder.
May you not lose your joy,
in all of the chaos
may the season’s madness
not make you lose focus.
May this CHRISTmas,
joy, be all you feel
may it cause in you
a delightful squeal!
Praying for God Peace ~
praying-for-god-peace-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann
Every day to God,
I pray for His peace
I ask that my faith
in Him, to increase.
I pray for renewal,
in spirit and in mind
I ask that His will
will be easy to find.
Every day to God,
I pray for directions
I ask Him to give me
Spirit filled instructions.
I give Him my burden,
my worry and my care
I let Him know they are
too much for me to bear.
Every day to God,
His peace, I pray for
and He never fails . . .
to always give me more!
God of My Peace ~
god-of-my-peace-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann
God of my peace,
Lord of my calm
You are to me
a soothing balm.
Whatever I need,
whatever my care
to You I can go
in confident prayer.
God of my trust,
Lord of my hope
You are the Anchor
at the end faith’s rope.
No matter the storms,
nor how long they be
You’re right in them
along side of me.
God of my calm,
Lord of my peace
may my trust and hope
in You, never cease!
The Gift That Keeps Giving ~
the-gift-that-keeps-giving-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann
You can give a gift,
without any misgiving
for, it’s the only one
that keeps on giving.
You needn’t spend,
one single dime
but, it will be a gift
that lasts a life-time.
It’s free for the giving,
so why don’t you try
giving the perfect gift
no one has to buy.
For, Jesus was born,
to save the lost
and for this to you
there is not a cost.
If you want to give a gift,
that just keeps giving
share the gift of salvation
among all who are living!
but the gift of God is eternal
life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Joy’s Eternal Yield ~
eternal-joy-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann
I came across a field,
it look like all the rest
the weeds and thistles
grew without contest.
But, as I explored,
this grassland full of tares
I came upon a plot
sans any thorny snares.
The patch was pasture green,
where not a single weed grew
is was like a lush meadow
meant to restore and renew.
It was in this patch of land,
that I finally discovered
Jesus loves me even though . . .
with thorns I was covered.
I packed away my misgivings,
and bought into that field
for the treasure I had found . . .
brought joy, as its eternal yield!
~~~~~~~

Matthew 13:44

“Again, the kingdom of heaven
is like unto treasure hid in a field;
the which when a man hath found,
he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth
and selleth all that he hath,
and buyeth that field.

My Daily Nourishment ~

my-daily-nourishment-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

Lord, give unto me,
my daily bread
satisfy my hunger
let me be Spirit lead.

Renew my mind,
keep worry at bay
transform my heart
upon each new day.

Give unto me,
all the faith I need
quench my thirst
as Your Word I read.

Provide me shelter,
a place to find rest
let not this sparrow
fall from Your nest.

Lord, nourish my soul,
clothe me in righteousness
cover me daily
with Your graciousness!

~~~~~~~~
Matthew 6:25
“Therefore I say unto you,
Take no thought for your life,
what ye shall eat, or what ye
what ye shall put on.
No One Can Steal My Joy ~
no-one-can-steal-my-joy-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann
No one can steal the joy,
bubbling inside of me
no problem big or small
can rob me of my glee.
No test or trial,
can take my joy away
no amount of pain will cause
my joyousness to give way.
No bumps in the road,
will cause my joy to cease
no detour along the way
will seize my future peace.
No sorrow or heartbreak,
can wipe my joy out
in all things good or bad
it’s for joy, them I count.
No one can steal from me,
not one thing can capture
the joy I have looking . . .
forward to the rapture!
On The Winds of Adversity ~
on-the-winds-of-adversity-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann
On the winds of adversity,
God seems to test us
and all we can really do . . .
is to hold on to our trust.
With each passing gale,
that rages through our life
all we can really do . . .
is to give Jesus our strife.
As the gusts keep coming,
and the storms continue on
all we can really do . . .
is to be calm til they’re gone.
With each rushing wind,
that comes about our way
all we can really do . . .
is to turn to God and pray.
For, the storms of this life,
will eventually cease
and one day Jesus will bring . . .
to our souls perfect peace!
~~~~~~~~~~

Matthew 8:26

Why are ye fearful,
O ye of little faith?
Then he arose,
and rebuked the winds

a great calm.”

Tattered Wings and All ~

tattered-wings-and-all-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

Are you one of His sparrows,
with a broken wing . . .
are you one of the ones
who with the world had a fling?

Did you in your flight,
make a wrongful turn
and now all you want
is into His arms return?

Are you one of His sparrows,
who left His safe nest
are you one of the ones
who now can’t find any rest?

Did you get carried off,
on the winds of greed
and now you want back
into His good heed?

Calling all broken sparrows,
tattered wings and all . . .
Jesus wants to heal you
from the effects of your fall!

ye are of more value
than many sparrows.”

Fading Memories ~

fading-memories-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann-belka

I still count the days,
since you’ve been gone
to fading memories
I am still clinging on.

They are all it seems,
I have left of you . .
as old photo albums
I cry my way through.

I still hear your laughter,
see those smiling eyes
I still can remember
our last, final goodbye’s.

There isn’t a moment,
that you, I don’t miss
nor is there a second
I don’t feel the abyss.

I still count the days,
since you’ve been gone
and its only by God’s grace
I am able to move on!

Son Bursts ~

Son light bursts,
through Autumn leaves
bringing rays of hope
to all who believe.

Light glowing down,
on the Truth and Way
Autumn time blooms
of a more restful day.

Son beams bursts,
into a golden hue
flickers of God’s glory
come glistening through.

The radiance reveals,
the light of one Man
unveiling the way
to salvation’s plan.

Son rays bursts,
through Autumn trees
peaceful reminders
of things awaiting me!
