It’s Not About the Storms ~

It’s not about the storms,
we find ourselves in
it’s about if they help us
to avoid every kind of sin.

It’s not about the winds,
that blow us around
it’s about if they help us
to keep our minds sound.

It’s not about the rains,
flooding through our life
it’s about if they help us
to give God our daily strife.

It’s not about the tempests,
on us being thrust
it’s about if they help us
in God to rely and trust.

It’s not about the weather,
the wind, rain or tempest
it’s about if they help us
to find God’s peace and rest.

It’s not about the storms,
nor how wind-whipped our boat
it’s about whether we used . . .
our Bible, to help keep us afloat!

A Place to Hide ~

a-place-to-hide-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

When I need a place,
to go and to hide
a place to escape
the upheaval outside.

I go to the refuge,
God has supplied
for in His Word I find
a safe place to abide.

When I need to get away,
from all the confusion
when I need to find
a place for seclusion.

I take refuge in Jesus,
knowing fully well
He’ll provide a haven
for my heart to dwell.

Whenever I need a place,
I can sneak off to
Lord, it’s no wonder I choose
to hide away with You!

I said, Thou art my refuge

Pressurized ~

dont-be-pressurized-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

Feeling the pressure,
from your peers
no matter your age
or number of years?

Well, you won’t collapse,
under the pressure
if you keep your eyes on
your heavenly treasure.

Being influenced,
to follow the crowd
where anything goes
everything is allowed?

Well, you needn’t fold,
under the pressure
if you go to your Bible
for a daily refresher.

Being criticized,
for how you believe
because worldly views
you refuse to receive?

Well don’t you give in,
no matter the pressure
know your faith in God
brings Him pleasure.

Being mocked,
teased and made fun of
because you rather follow
the Light from above?

Well don’t you cave in,
nor be conformed . . .
instead let your mind
in God be transformed!

~~~~~~~
Romans 12:2
“And be not conformed
to this world:
but be ye transformed
by the renewing
of your mind,
that ye may prove what is
that good, and acceptable,
and perfect, will of God.”
In The Name of Tolerance ~
in-the-name-of-tolerance-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann
God gave us His commands,
to follow and obey
but, that is not what’s taught
in some pulpits today.
Instead we’re being told,
the laws God once gave
can be changed to fit
however we want to behave.
They promote transgression,
in the name of tolerance
skewing the Words of Jesus
to suit their preference.
As the love for self grows,
so does our earthly desires
so they tell us we no longer
need to do what God requires.
God gave us His commands,
they’re written in the Good Book
but, so many for themselves
haven’t even taken a look!
~~~~~~~

Hebrews 4:12

“For the word of God is quick,
and powerful, and sharper
than any twoedged sword,
piercing even to the dividing
asunder of soul and spirit,
and of the joints and marrow,
and is a discerner of the
thoughts and intents
of the heart.”

Bible Crunches ~

bible-crunches-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

Today I’m exercising,
going to let it rip
going to strengthen
tighten up faith’s grip.

I’ll go all the way
get Scripture sculpted
so my belief in God
can never get corrupted.

I’ll do Bible crunches,
tone up my Gospel flab
so I can be ready
to fight off Satan’s jabs.

I’ll do a full workout,
I’m going to optimize
so my trust in God
can’t be compromised.

Today I’m exercising.
going to spiritually stick it
for, I’ll be working out . . .
with the Holy Spirit!

New Discoveries ~

new-discoveries-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

Each day is a new adventure,
God gives us to explore
each day He wants us . . .
to get to know Him more.

Every place that you look,
new discoveries are everywhere
no matter where you turn
God is waiting for you there.

Every year God has for us,
something new and exciting
each day He wants us to be
in His Word exploring.

Every verse you read,
has something just for you
each Scripture you study
your faith it will renew.

Every day is a new adventure,
God has for us to investigate
and it’s up to us . . .
to use His Word to navigate!

Our Waymaker ~

our-waymaker-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

God is our Waymaker,
His paths He makes known
when we seek His will
to us they’ll be shown.

His ways are perfect,
His instructions are right
He leads with His staff
guides with His light.

God is our Waymaker,
when we’re committed
and in His Word
we are fully outfitted.

His ways are prosperous,
eternal life, the reward
when Jesus becomes
your Savior and Lord.

God is the Waymaker,
put your life in His hands
and He will show you . . .
His paths and His plans!

now it shall spring forth;
shall ye not know it?

Whatever is True ~

whatever-is-true-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

Whatever things are true,
let them fill your mind
and the mercy of God
in them you will find.

For, that which is true,
is born out of God’s favor
and crowned with the grace
of Christ Jesus, our Savior.

Whatever things are true,
let them fill your heart
and from God’s ways
you will not depart.

For, that which is true,
is found in God’s Word
and promises to be
the righteous man’s gird.

 Whatever things are true,
such things, think about
then give God your praise
with a joyful shout!

whatsoever things are true . . .
if there be any virtue,
and if there be any praise,
think on these things.”

Dwelling On God’s Word ~

dwelling-on-gods-word-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

Let the words of Jesus,
teach you how to be wise
let them dwell in your heart
and your mind they’ll advise.

Let His words reflect,
daily in your attitude
for they are full of grace
joy, hope and gratitude.

Let Jesus’ life become,
one you are willing to live
for it will bring you peace
as you learn how to forgive.

Let us come together,
with our thankful hymns
let the melody of our words
reflect our love for Him.

Let the words of Jesus,
inspire in all of us . . .
to share with all we know
why in God we do trust!

~~~~~~~~~
Colossians 3:16
“Let the word of Christ dwell
in you richly in all wisdom;
teaching and admonishing one
another in psalms and hymns
and spiritual songs, singing
with grace in your hearts
to the Lord.”
Prepped for Perfection ~
prepped-for-perfection-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann
I am being prepped,
for perfection
my heart is showing
Jesus’ reflection.
The more about Him,
I get to know
the more of His grace
I’m able to show.
I’m getting closer,
to His image being
the more of His love
in me I am seeing.
The more I study,
how Jesus lived
the more I’m able
others to forgive.
God’s prepping me,
for perfection . . .
ever since on my heart
Jesus left His impression!
My Daily Nourishment ~
my-daily-nourishment-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann
Lord, give unto me,
my daily bread
satisfy my hunger
let me be Spirit lead.
Renew my mind,
keep worry at bay
transform my heart
upon each new day.
Give unto me,
all the faith I need
quench my thirst
as Your Word I read.
Provide me shelter,
a place to find rest
let not this sparrow
fall from Your nest.
Lord, nourish my soul,
clothe me in righteousness
cover me daily
with Your graciousness!
~~~~~~~~

Matthew 6:25

“Therefore I say unto you,
Take no thought for your life,
what ye shall eat, or what ye
shall drink; nor yet for your body,
what ye shall put on.
Is not the life more than meat,
and the body than raiment?

Tumbleweed Faith ~

tumbleweed-faith-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

Tumbleweed faith . . .
gets blown all around
one day it’s lifted up
the next upside down.

It’s root is shallow,
it’s weak and unstable
faith like a tumbleweed
spins like a turntable.

Tumbleweed faith . . .
flips with the wind
under false doctrine
it becomes pinned.

Storms of adversity,
are too much for it
faith like a tumbleweed
to deceit won’t admit.

Tumbleweed faith . . .
gets blown all around
for in the true Gospel
it is not firmly ground!

~~~~~~~
Ephesians 4:14
That we henceforth
be no more children,
tossed to and fro,
and carried about
with every wind of doctrine,
by the sleight of men,
and cunning craftiness, whereby
they lie in wait to deceive;”
On The Rock ~
on-the-rock-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann
I’m building my house on the Rock,
it’s going up brick by brick
the Word will be the mortar I use
so my faith in God will stick.
The Rock will be my anchor,
when a tempest comes my way
I’ll hold onto His power
until the tempter goes away.
When the winds attack me,
my house will never fall
for the Rock is the strength
that dwells inside each wall.
If floodwaters were to rise,
my house will not go under
for God’s grace is its foundation
and a testament to His wonder.
I’m building my house on the Rock,
not on a pile of sand . . .
I’m trusting God to keep it strong
so before Him I can stand!
~~~~~~~~~~~

Matthew 7: 23-24

“Therefore whoever hears these sayings
of Mine, and does them, I will liken
him to a wise man who built his house
on the rock: and the rain descended,
the floods came, and the winds blew and
beat on that house; and it did not
fall, for it was founded on the rock.

The Infallible Word of God ~

the-infallible-word-of-god-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

I believe God’s Word,
is completely infallible
every solitary word
every single syllable.

I believe God’s Word,
is Spirit inspired
and not one verse
should be retired.

I believe God’s Word,
in its entirety
that every chapter
has validity.

I believe God’s Word,
to be absolutely true
that not one Scripture
should be skewed.

I believe God’s word,
yes, I believe it all . . .
right from the beginning
down to the final roll call!

~~~~~
2 Timothy 3:16-17
“All scripture is given
by inspiration of God,
and is profitable for doctrine,
for reproof, for correction,
for instruction in righteousness:
That the man of God may be perfect,
thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
The Key to Life ~
the-key-to-life-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann
The key to life,
is in your hands
when the Bible
in it lands.
It opens the door,
to life, eternal
gets you up and over
sin’s every hurdle.
It holds the meaning,
to what life is about
it gives you hope
takes away the doubt.
It brings Light,
whether night or day
by shining Truth
on the Life and Way.
Jesus is the key,
to eternal life
He is the door . . .
that will end your strife!
~~~~~~~~

Revelation 3:20

“Behold, I stand at the door,
and knock: if any man hear
my voice, and open the door,
I will come in to him,
and will sup with him,
and he with me.”

Armed With Courage ~

armed-with-courage-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

Armed with courage,
I pray for everything
in faith, I ask God
without wavering.

I’ll not get tossed,
on the waves of fear
for prayers can make
muddy waters clear.

Equipped with strength,
God’s Word is my shield
as I go out each day
on prayer’s battle field.

I’ll put on my armor,
in all of its entirety
I’ll not be doubt driven
for I trust God entirely.

Armed with prayer,
brave and courageous
my faith in God . . .
makes me dangerous!

~~~~~~~~
James 1:6
“But let him ask in faith,
nothing wavering. For he that
wavereth is like a wave of
the sea driven with the
wind and tossed.
O, Taste and See ~
o-taste-and-see-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann
I’ve tasted the goodness,
from God’s banquet table
I’ve feasted on His Word
and now its a daily staple.
I’ve supped on the truth,
with my Lord and Savior
and now His Life and Way
I’ve come to daily savor.
I’ve been to the buffet,
of God’s benevolence
and now I understand
the meaning of excellence.
I’ve dined with my Redeemer,
my healing, Comforter
and now I know who is
my daily bread Provider.
I’m blessed beyond measure,
and I’m loving the fullness
now that I have tasted God
I’m filled with all His goodness!
A Walk That Is Worthy ~
a-walk-that-is-worthy-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann
Lord, give me a walk,
worthy of Your grace
let my soul search
daily for Your face.
Give me a calling,
worthy of Your favor
let my heart imitate
the life of my Savior.
Give me a purpose,
worthy of Your love
let my life reflect
Your power from above.
Give me a service,
worthy of Your trust
let my mind embody
one that’s fair and just.
Lord, give me a walk,
worthy in Your sight
let my soul in Your Word
be lead by its light!
Your Navigation Tool ~
your-navagation-tool-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann
When into your life,
a storm blows in
before it commences
to bring turmoil within.
Open up your Bible,
it will map out for you
how to maneuver
your way through.
When in deep waters,
uncharted, unknown
before the conditions
turn into a cyclone.
Your Bible is the tool,
to help you navigate
all the heavy swells
till the waters abate.
When into your life,
a storm blows through
use the Word of God
to calm and still you!
“He maketh the storm a calm,
so that the waves thereof
are still.”
Hide and Seek ~
Hide and Seek ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann
God has something.
He wants me to find . . .
so I’ll be seeking Him
with all my heart and mind.
I’ll diligently be pursing,
what He has for me
though at this very moment
it’s not too clear to see.
It’s as if I am playing,
with Him hide and seek
so I’ll  search my Bible
until to me He speaks.
As I look for Him,
throughout His Word
all kinds of revelations
in my spirit are stirred.
Oh, the things,
God has for me to find
when I seek Him with . . .
all my heart, soul and mind!
Through the Eyes of God’s Grace ~
Through the Eyes of God's Grace ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann
I got me this thing,
but, at it I don’t look
instead my eyes are on
what’s in the Good Book.
This thing is pretty heavy,
but, it doesn’t weigh me down
because I am focusing
on my everlasting crown.
This one thing I know for sure,
what I have is temporal
and all that really matters
is what will be eternal.
This thing is quite annoying,
it’s always in my face
but, I can see right past it
through the eyes of God’s grace.
I got me this thing,
but, over it I’ll not worry
for one day I want to see . . .
God, in all His wondrous glory!
~~~~~~~

2 Corinthians 4:17-18

“For our light affliction,
which is but for a moment,
worketh for us a far more
exceeding and eternal
weight of glory;

While we look not at the things
which are seen, but at the things
which are not seen: for the things
which are seen are temporal;
but the things which are not seen
are eternal.”
