Jesus Died for All ~

Jesus gave Himself for me,
He gave Himself for you
He gave Himself for each
one in the world too.

Jesus died for our sins,
He gave up His life
so we’d be delivered
from its damning strife.

Jesus gave Himself for all,
He gave Himself to set free
He gave Himself to break
on us, satan’s authority.

Jesus became the ransom,
His life was the price
so one day with Him
we could be in paradise.

Jesus gave Himself for you,
He gave Himself for me . . .
so from sin we’d be freed
if we so choose to be!

My Shepherd’s Care ~

He goes ahead of me,
my safety comes first
He leads me to springs
to quench my thirst.

He keeps His eyes out,
for any danger ahead
He guides me to pastures
where I can be fed.

He knows where I’m at,
if I should get lost
He will seek me out
no matter the cost.

He knows if I’m tired,
He sees my weakness
He cares and loves me
for my own uniqueness.

 He is my Shepherd,
He can be yours too
if you will let Jesus . . .
lead and guide you!

Springtime Is In The Air ~

Springtime is in the air,
I can feel its warming trend
though it’s not really here
I know it’s around the bend.

Each day I eagerly await,
for the blessings of Spring
knowing in my weary soul
God will do a new thing.

Springtime is in the air,
I can see its early bloom
melting away the aches
of winter’s chilly gloom.

For Springtime brings,
re-birth and revival
a heart rendering calm
upon its sunny arrival.

Springtime is in the air,
I hope you can feel it too
for it’s God’s promise . . .
the winter soul He’ll renew!

Song of Solomon 2: 11-12

the rain is over and gone;
The flowers appear on the earth;

is come, and the voice of the turtle
is heard in our land;”

We All Have A Past ~

We all have a past,
filled with painful things
we all cringe . . .
at the memories they bring.

We all need to find,
God’s favor and grace
we all need God’s mercy
so the past we can face.

We all have feelings,
of resentment and ill-will
we all wince . . .
at how others make us feel.

We all need to find,
God’s healing peace
we all need God’s mercy
so our pain He can release.

We all have suffered,
the heartache of rejection
we all recoil . . .
when the past we mention.

We all need to find,
God’s way to forgiveness
we all need God’s mercy
so we can be rid of bitterness.

We all have a past,
filled with painful things
we all need God’s mercy
and the grace that it brings!

Clouds~

Sometimes there’s a cloud,
hanging over me . . .
no matter where I look
despair is all I see.

I ask God to remove,
the gloom in my way
but, it remains no matter
how hard I try to pray.

The feeling is somber,
disheartening to say the least
and I know it is coming
from satan that old  beast.

For he wants me to be,
discouraged and joyless
he loves to make me feel
rejected and hopeless.

Lord, sometimes there’s a cloud,
dampening my view
but it simply dissipates . . .
the more I think of you!

Jesus’ Home ~

jesus-home-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

My heart,
Jesus’ home
my soul
God’s throne.

God’s peace
my strife
my salvation
Jesus’ life.

My eyes,
Jesus’  light
my weakness
God’s might.

God’s Word,
my ways
my thoughts
Jesus sways.

My sinfulness,
God’s favor
my hope . . .
my Savior!

A Place to Hide ~

a-place-to-hide-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

When I need a place,
to go and to hide
a place to escape
the upheaval outside.

I go to the refuge,
God has supplied
for in His Word I find
a safe place to abide.

When I need to get away,
from all the confusion
when I need to find
a place for seclusion.

I take refuge in Jesus,
knowing fully well
He’ll provide a haven
for my heart to dwell.

Whenever I need a place,
I can sneak off to
Lord, it’s no wonder I choose
to hide away with You!

Eternal Love ~

eternal-love-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

Every day God shows,
to us His undying love
every day He showers
His mercies from above.

Every day God says,
child I love you
every day His grace
makes everything new.

Every day God gives,
us His loving solace
every day His peace
is perfect and flawless.

Every day God tends,
to us with loving care
every day He offers us
our burdens to bear.

Every day God sends,
blessings from above
every day He showers us
with His eternal love!

God is Smiling ~

God is smiling,
down on you today
His grace and favor
are for you on display.

He sent you the sun,
shining from above
to remind you of
the warmth of His love.

Each morning He brings,
to you mercies anew
each day He proclaims
your faith He’ll renew.

Beams of everlasting hope,
blissful eternal rays
reflect His future promise
of more peaceful days.

God is smiling,
down on you today
blessings from heaven
just to brighten your day!

Slow To Anger ~

slow-to-anger-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

Slow to anger,
forgives swiftly
God our Father
loves us fiercely.

Patiently merciful,
favor unending
God’s compassion
for us is unrelenting.

Goodness ample,
grace abounding
God’s love for us
is perfectly astounding.

Peace abundant,
kindness plentiful
God gives hope
to the pitiful.

Slow to anger,
pursues persistently
God loves us . . .
unconditionally!

Motion Sickness ~

motion-sickness-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

Some people suffer,
from motion sickness
some can’t stomach
waiting for God’s stillness.

Some people succumb,
to their fear and doubt
some can’t even begin
to shut the world out.

Some people fold,
under all the tension
some collapse beneath
the gloom of depression.

Some people’s faith,
goes by the wayside
some can’t stand firm
when pressure is applied.

Some people suffer,
from motion sickness
but those who trust in God . . .
give Him their queasiness!

The Fear Factor ~

the-fear-factor-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

Fear plugs the heart,
stops the flow of peace
it clogs up the calm
only God can release.

Fear hijacks the hope,
we need to be still
it robs the soul
of knowing God’s will.

Fear rips the faith,
right out from under us
it cripples the mind
of its eternal sureness.

Fear disables the joy,
of our salvation
it shuts down the bliss
of our future elation.

Fear stifles the peace,
of a mind that’s sound
it zaps the power
that in God we found!

The Valley of Hope ~

in-the-valley-of-hope-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

There is a valley,
I call hope . .
it’s where I gather
strength to cope.

I take my time,
as through it I go
praying all the way
God’s plans I’ll know.

I often rest,
along side a hill
it’s where I learn
how to be still.

I amble slowly,
around each bend
asking God all along
more faith He’ll send.

There is a valley,
hope is its name
where springs of trust
in God’s peace I claim!

Remember Your First Love ~

remeber-your-first-love-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

Remember your First Love,
how you once felt
how the sound of His name
made your heart melt?

Remember the hope,
how it lifted up your soul
when by His stripes
you were made whole?

Remember the joy,
how much you were elated
when your life to Jesus
you first dedicated?

Remember the grace,
how it washed over you
how God’s loving mercy
made everything new?

Remember your First Love,
how Jesus made you feel?
If not, it is time for you
to get back your zeal!

May Christ Dwell ~

may-christ-dwell-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

May Christ dwell,
in your heart today
may His Life
be your Truth and Way.

May Christ make,
your heart His home
may you let Him
make it His throne.

May Christ abide,
in your heart always
may He be the one
to walk its hallways.

May Christ’s love be,
in your heart rooted
may your love for Him
be firmly grounded.

May Christ dwell,
in your heart today
may your faith in Him
always be on display!

Along My Journey ~

along-my-journey-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

Lord, along my journey,
to get closer to You
there were lots of obstacles
I had to maneuver through.

You took me down the road,
of sorrow and grief
so I would learn to turn
to You for peace and relief.

You put me on the path,
of heartache and loss
so I would know the pain
of carrying my own cross.

You brought me to places,
I did not want to go
so that Your mercy
I’d truly come to know.

Lord, along my journey,
of hope and salvation
You always had for me
heaven as my destination!

A New Heaven and Earth ~

a-new-heaven-and-earth-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

A new heaven,
a new universe
where in God’s peace
all will be immersed.

New stars there’ll be,
new galaxies too
all of God’s glory
will shine through

A new earth,
pristine and fresh
no scars on it
from acts of the flesh.

A new city,
with streets of gold
gates of pearls
opening to His fold.

A new relationship,
between God and man
for all who’ve trusted
in salvation’s plan.

A new condition,
broken hearts no more
no sorrow, no death
only bliss galore.

A new Heaven,
a new earth too . . .
oh, won’t that be
a glorious view!

Heaven Is Surreal ~

heaven-is-surreal-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

Heaven is going to be,
awesome and surreal
for it will be a place
peacefully ideal.

It will be in Heaven,
from burdens we’ll be free
it’ll be our true happy place
full of laughter and glee.

Heaven will be a place,
where all will be healed
it is where God’s glory
will be fully revealed.

It will be in Heaven,
from our labors we’ll rest
it’ll be a place of joy
for those once oppressed.

Heaven is going to be,
filled with happiness
life will be never-ending
in the place of gladness!

God Is Our Shelter ~

god-shelters-us-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

God is our shelter,
in the storms of stress
He brings comfort
to us in our duress.

God is our shelter,
in the storms of sorrow
He gives us the joy
to face the morrow.

God is our shelter,
in the storms of fear
He brings peace
by drawing to us near.

God is our shelter,
in the storms of grief
He gives us strength
brings our hearts relief.

God is our shelter,
in all the storms of life
He brings the calm
in the midst of our strife!

In God’s Training Room ~

in-gods-training-room-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

In God’s training room,
there’s a lot for us to learn
for, He wants to teach us
He’s with us at every turn.

We wrestle with the pain,
weep long into the night
so God can show us
the joy in His morning light.

We confront our sorrow,
the source of our fears
so God can collect for us
in His bottle all our tears.

We struggle with our past,
we scramble with its strife
so God can help us see
the temperance of this life.

In God’s training room,
He’s teaching us to know
all thing work for good
to them who love Him so!

Peace Perfectly ~

peace-perfectly-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

If we’re to have peace,
in our daily life
we need to stay fixed
on God, not our strife.

For, hearts that are stayed,
on God’s tranquility
are the hearts trusting Him
in all totality.

If we’re to have,
peace perfectly
than our minds must seek
Him thirstily.

For minds that are focused,
on God’s serenity
are the minds that believe
in Him entirely.

If we want to have peace,
our eyes need to be
steady on God . . .
not on the things we see!

whose mind is stayed
