I love this time of year,
with Thanksgiving just ahead
it reminds me of some facts
in the Bible I have read . . .
In all things be thankful,
let joy and praise flow out of you
for everything be grateful
give God the glory He is due.
Make peacefulness your habitation,
let your gentleness be known
be kind, tender-hearted and forgiving
never be the first to cast a stone.
Extend a hand to the needy,
let charity be your perfect gift
help all those who have not
bring back to God those adrift.
Show others your appreciation,
let them see your gratitude
bless them for their helpfulness
be not selfish in your attitude.
Reach out to the sick and hurting,
let them see Jesus’ true compassion
show all acts of grace and mercy
let not the sun go down on your passion.
Be content with all that you have,
rejoice in whatever is your state
be satisfied with all of the goodness
God places each day on your plate.
In everything be thankful,
let your praise be heard by all
in everything be grateful
let your joy be seen by all!
~~~~~~~~
Each new day I rise to,
I start it off with praise
to the Lord my God . . .
my gratitude I raise.
I thank Him daily,
for all He has supplied
I can’t tell Him enough
how much I am obliged.
My gratitude is ongoing,
as I go about my day
for the many blessings
He showers on my way.
I’m grateful for His mercy,
His every good, perfect gift
unto my Lord and Savior
my thankfulness I lift.
As I thank God for being,
my powerful, wise creator
my gratefulness to Him . . .
grows ever-more greater!
It’s not just on Thanksgiving,
that we’re to be thankful . . .
it’s not only on this day
that we’re to be grateful.
It’s about being satisfied,
each day in every way
it’s about our attitude
in all we do and say.
It’s not about the tasty food,
on today’s white linen table
it’s not about the fine dining
on Thanksgiving Day’s staples.
It’s about the provisions,
God gives us all year through
it’s about what with them
we choose and opt to do.
It’s not about what we have,
or counting all our blessings
it’s not about the pumpkin pie
or the turkey’s sausage dressing.
It’s all about us sharing,
with those who have not
it’s all about helping others . . .
in deed not just in thought!
I’m on the winning side,
I have nothing to fear
for I have Jesus . . .
who is always here.
To Him I am grateful,
for the hope He instills
how it calms my mind
as my heart it stills.
I’m on the right side,
I have nothing to dread
for I have God . . .
by whom I can be led.
For He is all-knowing,
He never steers me wrong
I stay trusting in Him
to help keep my faith strong.
I’m on the side of victory,
I have nothing to lose . . .
for God’s righteous path
is the road that I choose!
Early in the morning,
before the sun is ablaze
give a shout of pure joy
a song of heartfelt praise.
Make a sweet melody,
show God your gratitude
sing out your praises
with a joyful attitude.
Early in the morning,
as the sun begins to rise
remember God’s kindness
as He lightens up the skies.
Clap your hands together,
lift your arms in praise
give your day to the Lord
thanking Him for His ways.
While the dew is still set,
on the morning lawn
while the house is yet dark
before it becomes dawn.
Show your thankfulness,
to the Lord up above
lift up your heart-song
praising Him for His love.
When your day is finally over,
as the sun dims its blazing light
thank God for His faithfulness
all though the starry night!
Today I am thankful,
for my daily bread
for the Holy Spirit
by whom I am lead.
For the abundance,
of faith and grace
for Jesus’ strength
to stay in the race.
Today I am grateful,
to my Father above
for His tender mercy
His wondrous love.
For His Goodness,
all He provides
for the power
He daily supplies.
Lord, today I’m thankful,
oh, so grateful too . . .
for all You bless me with
for all ~ for me You do!
Count all your blessings,
every single blessed one . . .
add them all together
be grateful for the sum.
Be thankful for all you have,
convey your gratitude
let your appreciation
reflect in your attitude.
Appreciate your wealth,
no matter how great or small
show your gratefulness
to God who supplies it all.
Let your thankfulness,
reach across the whole land
freely give to others
what God’s put in your hand.
Count all your blessings,
so many have not any. . .
give to them all you can
even if it’s your last penny!
Mark 12:41-44
And Jesus sat over against
the treasury, and beheld
how the people cast money
into the treasury: and many
that were rich cast in much.
And there came
a certain poor widow,
and she threw in two mites,
which make a farthing.
And he called unto him his
disciples, and saith unto them,
Verily I say unto you,
That this poor widow
hath cast more in, than all
they which have cast into
the treasury:
For all they did cast in of
their abundance; but she
of her want did cast in all
that she had, even all her living.
Lord, may my heart be,
eternally thankful . . .
may it always to You be
one forever grateful.
May it sing it’s praises,
for all that You do
may it show it’s thanks
for to You it’s always due.
Lord, may my song swell,
with my gratefulness
may it resonate loudly
Come this Thanksgiving . . .
there’ll be no turkey with dressing
I’m only going to serve a plate
of gratitude for God’s blessings.
As a substitute for candied yams,
we’ll feast on His loving kindness
taste the sweetness of His favor
as we reflect on His righteousness.
There’ll be no rolls and butter,
instead, we’ll eat of the Bread of Life
with gratitude we’ll give our thanks
to Jesus for bearing our strife.
In place of mashed potatoes,
there’ll be praise piled just as high
we’ll sing our adoration
in place of having pumpkin pie.
The only beverage we will drink,
will be from the one True Vine
with humility on our lips
our thanks will be as sweet as wine.
Come this Thanksgiving . . .
there’ll be no traditional dinner
instead I’ll serve a plate of grace
to anyone who is a sinner!
Father, how can I show my gratitude,
my gratefulness for all You’ve done
how can I show my thankfulness
for the eternal gift of Your Son?
What can I do to repay You,
for the kindness You’ve shown me
what can I give back to You
so my appreciation You can see?
How can I render my thanksgiving,
the sense of my true gratification
how can I ever prove to You
the full delight of my satisfaction?
Father, how can I show my gratitude,
my gratefulness for all You do
how can I show my thankfulness
if I am not always praising You?
Grow your gratitude,
it will increase your praise
then what comes your way
you will not be phased.
For God wants us to be,
for all things grateful
and then our praise to Him
will become a daily staple.
Grow your thankfulness,
it won’t disappoint you
then whatever God sends
you’ll be able to get through.
For God desires of us,
our earnest of devotions
not just the kind we give
when going through the motions.
Grow your thanksgiving,
gratefulness you will raise
so no matter what life brings
you’ll still offer God your praise!
It’s easy to sing,
when the day is trouble free
it’s easier to give accolades
to God, when full of glee.
It’s easy to sing,
when all is looking bright
it’s easier to praise God
when bathed in His light.
It’s easy to sing,
when all is going well
it’s easier to let our gratitude
for God, to grow and swell.
It’s easy to sing,
when happy and content
it’s easier for us to God
our thanksgiving present.
But, they who still sing,
in the darkness of the night
are those who praise God . . .
no matter what’s in their sight!
On Thanksgiving day this year,
before the turkey starts roasting
my thanks, I will be singing
for the dinner I’ll be hosting.
I will set the dining table,
with the gratitude I feel
before anyone comes
to feast upon the meal.
I will spread the hope,
that I’m feeling inside
before I even serve . . .
the food that God supplied.
I will polish up on all,
the reasons I’m thankful
before I even dish up
one blessed, single plateful.
On Thanksgiving day this year,
before the food I present
I will let everyone know . . .
just why I am so content!
I’m transforming this valley,
by changing my attitude
I’m going to go through it
with praise and gratitude.
I’m not letting this challenge,
get the better part of me
I’m going to trust it’s where
for now, God wants me to be.
I’m transforming this valley,
by altering my thinking
I’m coming out of it strong
not lifeless and limping.
I’m not letting this trial,
take control of my life
I’m going to conquer it
no matter what the strife.
I’m transforming this valley,
it’ll be my hallelujah journey
for I know in all things . . .
my God, is truly praiseworthy!
Forget about the turkey,
the dressing and the sides
forget about the pumpkin
pecan or chocolate pies.
Instead lift up your voice,
with shouts of joy and praise
to God your loving Father
let your thanksgiving raise.
Forget about the cleaning,
forget about all the stuff . . .
Instead show the Lord,
your genuine gratitude
give your thanks to Jesus
instead let your song of praise
Thanksgiving Day is upon us,
soon we’ll gather at the table
with family and close friends
to feast on our favorite staples.
We’ll set aside our complaints,
in exchange for gratitude
for everyone, on this one day . . .
puts on a Thanksgiving attitude.
To God we’ll give our thanks,
for family, food and friends
but once the day is over . . .
sadly, our gratitude ends.
We’ll go back to complaining,
to our own self-sufficient way
any gratefulness that we felt . . .
will begin to wither and decay.
Thanksgiving Day is upon us,
soon we’ll gather at the table
and this year I will be praying. . .
gratitude ~ will be a daily staple!
My gratitude is ongoing,
as I go about my day
I thank Him for the blessings
He showers on my way.
I’m grateful for His mercy,
His every good, perfect gift
unto my Lord and Savior
my thankfulness I lift.
As I thank God for being,
the powerful, wise creator
my gratefulness to Him . . .
grows ever-more greater!
Have I told you lately,
you are a blessing to me
have I expressed how much
in you, God’s grace I can see.
Have I let you know recently,
how much I appreciate you
have I conveyed in actual words
my gratitude for all you do.
Have I voiced my pleasure,
of just having you around
have I said, you lift me up
whenever I’m feeling down.
Have I uttered my thanks,
for your kindness and love
have I spoken I believe . . .
you’re my angel from above.
Have I told you lately,
what a blessing you are to me
have I expressed just how much
of Jesus ~ in you, I do see!
Early in the morning,
before the sun is ablaze
give a shout of pure joy
a song of heartfelt praise.
Make a sweet melody,
and show your gratitude
sing out your praises
with a joyful attitude.
Early in the morning,
before the sun begins to rise
remember His loving-kindness
under the darken skies.
Clap your hands together,
lift your arms up in praise
give your day to the Lord
thank Him for His ways.
While the dew is still set,
on the morning lawn
while the house is dark
before there is a new dawn.
Show your thankfulness,
to the Lord up above
lift up your heart-song
and praise Him for His love.
When your day is over,
as the sun dims its blazing light
thank God for His faithfulness
all though the starry night!
Psalm 92:1-2
and to sing praises to Your name, O Most
High; To declare Your lovingkindness in the
morning, and Your faithfulness every night.”
When a heart is full of grace,
it is a heart that is kind
compassion for others
it always tries to find.
It puts on humility,
wears the cloak of patience
it dresses itself with modesty
wears the robe of justice.
It is wrapped in peace,
It’s covered in forgiveness
drapes itself with love
it’s swathed in gentleness.
When a heart is full of grace,
gratitude is its garment
the Word of God . . .
is its wardrobe requirement!
The path of praise is paved,
with songs of joyousness
glorious hallelujahs
sung with thankfulness.
Praise fills the hearts,
of those who seek the Lord
they sing salvation’s song
with gratitude in each chord.
Trusting voices raise offerings,
of praise and adoration
to their almighty God
they sing their admiration.
Faithful lips sing the words,
of devotion to their Savior
praising and thanking Him
for His grace and favor.
The path of praise is paved,
with hallelujahs galore
filled with joyous thankfulness
to the One who they adore!
