Under The Shadow Of Worry ~

Under the shadow of worry,
fear loves to roam around
hoping to throws us
smack into the ground.

For, fear longs to keep,
our faith in God at bay
so underneath its pall
it will force us to stay.

Under the shadow of doubt,
fears loves to cast its gloom
so that our trust in God
no longer has any room.

For, doubt wants to keep,
our hope in God in question
by constantly keeping us
in a state of depression.

Fear is our scariest enemy,
and doubt our ugliest foe
but, if we remain strong . . .
God’s peace will overshadow!

Lord, if in me You see,
my faith lacking . . .
if my belief in You
You see slacking.

Help me to rise above,
my fears and doubt
so that we together
can work my faith out.

In this life,
there will be trials
fear and doubt
and denials.

But, Jesus said,
do not despair
instead His peace
we’re to declare.

In this world,
there will be grief
sorrow and pain
with no real relief.

But, Jesus told us,
He’s overcome
and to believe in
the final outcome.

In this world,
we needn’t fear
for Jesus said instead
to have good cheer!

Having a hard time,
these trying of days
having troubles
finding God’s ways?

Having trials and tests,
lots of hardships too
don’t know where to go
or what more you can do?

Having second thoughts,
and nagging doubt
having a hard time
figuring everything out?

Well, don’t give up yet,
or lose your hope
don’t you quit now
or throw in the rope.

For, what you can’t see,
God can . . .
and what you can’t do
God’s got a plan.

So, when you feel hopeless,
and at your wit’s end
remember God can . . .
repair, fix, and mend!

Step Out In Faith~

Sometimes in faith,
we need to just step out
regardless if we have
any fear or doubt.

We need to claim victory,
before we even begin
by using the strength . . .
that to us Jesus has given.

Sometimes in faith,
we need to take a leap
even though the waters
may seem so very deep.

We need to take the risk,
no matter how terrifying
by using the power . . .
Jesus will be supplying.

Sometimes in faith,
a step out we need to make
but, first off our feet . . .
our doubts we need to shake!

Grow not weary,

give not in to . . .
your fear or doubt.

For what God started,
it will be done
a promise He made
to you through His Son.

give God your burden

needn’t weigh you down
for the hope Jesus brings
will cause joy to abound.

Satan’s Tool Of Fear ~

There is a harmful tool,
satan loves to use . . .
for our minds he wants
to daze and confuse.

It plants it ugly seeds,
of unbelief and doubt
so God’s plans for us
we cannot figure out.

He daily uses this tool,
on everyone of us . . .
for in God he doesn’t want
for us to put our trust.

It causes bewilderment,
and muddles up the mind
so God’s ways are harder
for us to go out and find.

He wants us to be anxious,
to load us down with care
so that we will think
Jesus our worries won’t bear.

This tool is called fear,
it’s satan’s favorite one
but if we submit to God
the devil will flee and run!

Life can be crushing,
with troubles unbearable
but, Jesus promised us . . .
all things are repairable.

It can be traumatic,
with issues terrifying
but, Jesus promised us . . .
a faith fortifying.

Life can be burdensome,
with cares overwhelming
but, Jesus promised us . . .
the Holy Spirit’s indwelling.

It can be intense,
and oh so very staggering
but, Jesus promised us . . .
with Him we’ll be gathering.

Life can be frightful,
painfully sorrowful . . .
but, Jesus promised us
a life more hopeful!

Afternoon Ponderings ~09.10.22~

Psalm 145:19

That Still Small Voice ~

The winds started to roar,
they gusted all about
causing in me . . .
a trembling of doubt.

Then the earth quaked,
it shook and it broke
causing in me . . .
to nearly have a stroke.

Then a fire started up,
flames were all around
causing in me . . .
to have a near breakdown.

But, then came a calm,
and I started to hear
a still small voice . . .
whispering in my ear.

For, God didn’t speak to me,
in the sounds terrifying
but in the rustlings . . .
that were faith fortifying!

When Your World Shakes ~

When your world shakes,
and you feel it start rocking . . .
when you begin trembling
and your knees start knocking.

Go to God immediately,
and give Him all you fear
and He will make you . . .
surefooted like a deer.

When your world crashes,
in pieces all around you
when you begin to quiver
not knowing what to do.

Go to God straightaway,
ask Him for more grace
and the strength you need
till you’re in a safer place.

When your world collapses,
before on you it falls apart
go to God and ask Him . . .
to restore joy into your heart!

To Win The Faithful Race ~

The faithful race,
isn’t an easy course
it’s rough and bumpy
and at times coarse.

For us to stay on track,
takes a lot of grit . . .
and we need the power
of the Holy Spirit.

The faithful race,
isn’t an simple route
it’s trying and difficult
full of fear and doubt.

For we know there’ll be,
plenty of resistance
and without His strength
we can’t go the distance.

To win the faithful race,
we need to have endurance
and holding fast to Jesus
is our only assurance!

If we’re to remain,

In The Wilderness of My Soul ~

Lord, in the wilderness of my soul,
there are valleys deep and low . . .
and sometimes I wander in them
not sure the direction I should go.

In my doubt I meet with despair,
and my thoughts turn to giving up
for in my desperation . . .
I don’t see Your grace in my cup.

Lord, in the wilderness of my soul,
there are mountains high and wide
and sometimes all I want to do
is just to run away and hide.

In my fear I meet with dread,
with each obstacle I come to
but, I know I must get past them
if I want to get closer to You.

a vast land of empty spaces
long roads for me to travel on
with plenty of rough places.

But, I know I’m on the path,

In The Gym Of Trust ~

Sometimes my faith,
God has to exercise
to see how I’ll handle
problems as they arise.

So He sends me to the gym,
of trusting Him, to workout
where He has me confront
all my fears and doubt.

He knows I need the grit,
of the power of His might
so He drills it into me . . .
these enemies I must fight.

As I get down on the mat,
His sufficient grace I exert
and from my convictions
I do not turn or divert.

Sometimes my faith,
gets stretched and strained
due to its own weakness . . .
so His strength I can obtain!

A Doubting Spirit ~

A doubting spirit,
will get you no where
a wavering one
will only add to your care

A steadfast soul,

why is your mind consumed?

Who is keeping you in fear,

The love of God,
has gotten me past

Worry Ends ~

Worry ends,
when faith kicks in
it withdraws from
our trust within.

For when in God,
peace we find
worry can’t play

Fear ceases,
where love exists

in the sight of grace.

God Changes Us ~

God changes us,
from the inside out
dispels the fear
alleviates the doubt.

He gives a new heart,
full of hope and trust
so His very own Spirit
He can put into us.

from the outside in
till we no longer
 desire to commit sin.

He gives us faith,
in grace and grace alone
so we may trust Jesus
our sins will atone.

so He can abide
in the new Spirit ….
we now have inside!

you’re weak and fragile.

All you have to do,

then wait and be still

onto Him you must cast.

When I’m weak,

I Will Strengthen You ~

I will strengthen thee,
how simple this sounds
but, it can be so hard
when our troubles abound.

For, often we fail to take,
a hold on God’s promise
perhaps because in us . . .
there’s a little doubting Thomas.

I will strengthen you,
how easy this would be
if our pride we’d let go
His strength we could see.

But, we are too busy,
keeping our ego’s inflated
that God’s strength and power
often becomes deflated.

I will strengthen thee,
is God’s promise to us
if only we would . . .
in Him place our trust!
