Saved By The Blood ~

Saved By The Blood ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

No candle lit,
no religious rite
can save you from
your sinful plight.

No work or act,
nor any worldly deed
faith plus grace
is all you will need.

No song sung,
no musical band
can pull you out
of satan’s hand.

No fancy cathedral,
no religious ceremony
only God can soften
a heart that is stony.

No garment worn,
no posture stance
can give a soul
a dying chance.

Only the blood of Jesus,
can save your soul
everything else . . .
let not your heart control!

~~~~~~~
Titus 3:5
“Not by works of righteousness
which we have done,
but according to his mercy
he saved us, by the washing
of regeneration, and renewing
of the Holy Ghost;”
Constant Guidance ~
The Lord will guide me,
this I haven’t any doubt
but it’s up to me . . .
not to shut His voice out.
I will need to be open,
to His divine leading
and to His written Word
I’ll need to do some heeding.
The Lord will lead me,
all I have to do is ask
but, it’s up to me . . .
to be ready for the task.
I will need to be at peace,
wherever He may take me
for, only He truly knows
what my future is to be.
The Lord will guide,
lead me continually . . .
but, I must trust Him
with my life constantly!
~~~~~~~~~

Isaiah 58:11

“And the Lord shall guide thee continually,
and satisfy thy soul in drought,
and make fat thy bones:
and thou shalt be like a watered garden,
and like a spring of water,
whose waters fail not.”

Written On My Heart ~

Oh Lord, may Your Word,
be written on my heart
so that from Your ways
I will not ever depart.

Oh Lord, may Your Word,
in my soul be embedded
so to the narrow gate
I’ll always be headed.

Oh, Lord may Your Word,
be my constant guide
so that with You in heaven
one day I will abide.

Oh Lord, may Your Word,
be my only light source
so I may be filled  . . .
with Your mighty force.

Oh Lord, may Your Word,
be imprinted on my mind
so if I should ever stray
the way back to You I’ll find!

that I might not sin against thee.”

The Sweet Smell of Grace ~

Oh Lord, Your Word,
to me is a fragrant garden
for in it there is life . . .
and the sweet smell of pardon.

Let me find my delight,
in the aroma of Your favor
to its blood-sweetened nectar
may my heart forever savor.

Oh Lord, Your Word,
opens up like a scented bloom
its beauty catches my breath
like a bride meeting her groom.

Let me find such a love.
in the bouquet of Your grace
to its saving aroma
may my heart always embrace.

O Lord, Your Word,
like incense it takes over my senses
for the sweet scent of a dying Savior
has pardoned all of my offenses!

~~~~~~
Psalm 119:103
” How sweet are thy words
unto my taste!
yea, sweeter than
honey to my mouth!”
A Godly Intervention ~
Sometimes God,
has to do some afflicting
so our stubborn hearts
He can begin softening.
For, He wants to remove,
the hardness deep inside
so there will be the room
for Him to fully abide.
Sometimes God,
brings about suffering
so our prideful minds
He can start uncovering.
For, He wants to rid us,
of our self-centeredness
so we’ll have self-restraint
filled with temperateness.
Sometimes God,
has to get our attention
so with our stubborn hearts
He calls for intervention!
I Will Strengthen You ~
I Will Strengthen You ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann
I will strengthen thee,
how simple this sounds
but, it can be so hard
when our troubles abound.
For, often we fail to take,
a hold on God’s promise
perhaps because in us . . .
there’s a little doubting Thomas.
I will strengthen you,
how easy this would be
if our pride we’d let go
His strength we could see.
But, we are too busy,
keeping our ego’s inflated
that God’s strength and power
often becomes deflated.
I will strengthen thee,
is God’s promise to us
if only we would . . .
in Him place our trust!
~~~~~~~

Isaiah 41:10

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee:
be not dismayed;
for I am thy God:
I will strengthen thee;
yea, I will help thee;
yea, I will uphold thee
with the right hand
of my righteousness.”

So Many Sorrows ~

So many sorrows,
too much suffering
so many needing
God’s conforming.

So much illnesses,
too many sick
so many needing
God’s healing quick.

So much confusion,
too many restless
so many needing
God’s peacefulness.

So many troubles,
too much worry
so many blessings
God needs to hurry.

So much sorrow,
so many prayers
so many who need . . .
to know God still cares!

~~~~~~~~~
Psalm 38:21-22
“Forsake me not, O Lord:
O my God, be not far from me.
Make haste to help me,
Before Your Lamp Fades ~
When your lamp begins to dull,
before it grows cold and dim
look for God in the darkness
and reignite, your trust in Him.
When your lamp looses its luster,
before it fades into the night
look for God in the shadows
and put your faith, back in His light.
When your lamp starts to flicker,
before it goes completely out
look for God in the flutter
and surrender to Him, all your doubt.
When your lamp is running low,
before it goes bone-dry
look for God in the flickering
and He will draw you, to Him nigh.
When your lamp barely shines,
before it loses its brilliance
look for God in the last glimmers
and rekindle for Him, your resilience!
“For thou art my lamp, O Lord:
and the Lord will lighten my darkness.”
One Day In Heaven ~
One Day In Heaven ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann
One day in heaven,
we will have perfect rest
when with eternal life
we are finally blessed.
We’ll have rest from heartache,
from our every sorrow
rest from our labor
the worries of tomorrow.
We’ll have rest from pain,
every disease and illness
rest from death and dying
our own spiritual sickness.
We’ll have rest from suffering,
from all that causes stress
rest from our despair
our cares that hard press.
One day in heaven,
with peace we’ll be blessed
when with Jesus . . .
we eternally come to rest!
~~~~~~~~~~

Revelation 21:4

“And God shall wipe away all tears
from their eyes; and there shall be
no more death, neither sorrow,
nor crying, neither shall there
be any more pain: for the former
things are passed away.”

Into Deep Waters ~

Bow down your ear Lord,
hear my prayers flow . . .
for, into these deep waters
I don’t want to go.

Let them not get higher Lord,
make them start to recede
for, into these deep waters
I don’t want to proceed.

Turn back the tide Lord,
before I’m in over my head
for, into these deep waters
I don’t want to tread.

Throw me a lifeline Lord,
if not, I’ll surely drown
for, into these deep waters
I don’t want to go down.

I pled out my case,
till the deep waters abated
and then these words to me
the Good Lord related . . .

Oh My fearful child,
your deep waters I had to prolong
so that you could see . . .
how I was with you all along!

~~~~~~~
Isaiah 43:2
“When thou passest through the waters,
I will be with thee; and through the
rivers, they shall not overflow thee:
when thou walkest through the fire,
thou shalt not be burned;
neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.”
As The New Year Unfolds ~
As the old year departs,
and the new one arrives
let us all show our thanks
to the One who provides.
Let us all worship,
His almighty name
so to His goodness
our lips will proclaim.
As the calendar peals,
one page after another
let us all give praise
to our heavenly Father.
Let us all sing,
over each new season
lest we forget
the blessing of freedom.
As the new year unfolds,
and the old one leaves us . . .
with everything we’ve got
let’s not forget the One we trust!
~~~~~~~~

Psalm 103:1-2

“Bless the Lord, O my soul:
and all that is within me,
bless his holy name.

Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits:

A Life Abundant ~

Lord You have given me,
a life that is abundant
one that is victorious
jubilant and triumphant.

For, You have given me,
victory over sin
though the thief may come
my soul he’ll never win.

Lord, You have given me,
grace plentiful
all because You are
so richly merciful.

For, You have given me,
hope everlasting
and peace beyond
my own understanding.

Lord, You have given me,
a heart that is new
so no man can destroy
the love I have for You!

~~~~~~~
John 10:10
but for to steal,
and to kill, and to destroy:
I am come that they might
have life, and that they
might have it more abundantly.”
Anchored in Hope ~
A life anchored in hope,
is one worth living
it brings about faith
praise and thanksgiving.
It’s a life full of trust,
in God for all things
it’s a life secure
under His faithful wings.
A life rooted in Jesus,
is one that is bound
it lives not in fear
for its mind is sound.
It’s a life with meaning,
purpose and direction
it’s a life striving
for godly perfection.
A life anchored in hope,
is one that’s submitted
its heart to Jesus . . .
is fully committed!
Should Have Been Crushed ~
I should have been crushed,
by the weight of sorrow
I should have not been able
to face another tomorrow.
I should have been shattered,
from a heart that was broken
I should have collapsed
under words left unspoken.
I should have been held down,
by the heaviness of pain
I should have not been able
any strength to obtain.
I should have been destroyed,
by the bitterness of grief
I should have not been able
to find any peace or relief.
But, God gave me hope,
and my heart filled with grace
tis the only reason today . .
you’ll see a smile on my face!
“A glad heart
makes a cheerful face,
but by sorrow of heart
the spirit is crushed.”
Doing God’s Business ~
Each New Year,
I’m given a fresh start
three-hundred sixty-five days
on me, God imparts.
There’s no guarantee,
I’ll live out each one
so I need to be sure
I live them for His Son.
Each day I must be willing,
to do all I can
to share salvation’s story
with all of man.
Each second counts,
in these final hours
so I’ll need to call upon
God and His powers.
Each New Year,
has 525,600 minutes
for me to go around . . .
doing God’s business!
~~~~~

John 6:28-29

“Then said they unto him,
What shall we do,
that we might work
the works of God?”

Jesus answered and said unto them,
This is the work of God,
that ye believe on him
whom he hath sent.”

Daily Prayers ~

I pray each day,
for these things
and for the peace
that they’ll  bring.

For my weaknesses,
to be strong
lest I stop singing
salvation’s song.

For my daily needs,
to be met
lest God’s goodness
I forget.

For my fears,
to be set free
lest His mercy
I’ll fail to see.

For my worries,
alone not to bear
lest onto Jesus
I’ll cast not my care.

For my doubt,
to turn to trust
lest to God’s ways
I’ll not adjust.

Each new day,
before I start
I give to God
prayers on my heart!

whatsoever ye shall ask
in prayer,
believing,
ye shall receive.”

A Life Selfless ~

This coming year,
make a resolution new
to put aside . . .
any bitterness still in you.

Make up a list,
of what gives you strife
then ask God to renew
His peace in your life.

This coming year,
make it your ambition
to see the Holy Spirit
gifts come to fruition.

Write down the things,
that are impairing
you from being kind . . .
forgiving and caring.

This coming year,
let your resolution be
a life selfless . . .
so to set bitterness free!

~~~~~~
Philippians 2:3
“Let nothing be done through
strife or vainglory;
but in lowliness of mind
let each esteem other
better than themselves.”
My Steps Are Preset ~
This year I’m stepping out,
letting my faith take me
to wherever God wants
or plans for me to be.
My steps He will order,
upon a firm foundation
so I will need to be ready
to fall into formation.
If I should stumble,
I know I will not fall
for God will uphold me
when on His name I call.
Onward I will go,
on the path God determines
for I know He has for me
some faith building excursions.
If I should lose my way,
I know I will not get lost
for God will encourage me
to keep my eyes on the cross.
This year I’m stepping out,
trusting the way God will direct
for I know my steps of faith . . .
He’s already planned and preset!
~~~~~~~~~

Psalm 37:23-24

“The steps of a good man
are ordered by the Lord:
and he delighteth in his way.

Though he fall, he shall not
be utterly cast down:
for the Lord upholdeth
him with his hand.”

If We Walk In The Light ~

If we’re to shine the Light,
then why more like Jesus aren’t we
why is His reflection in us . . .
so hard for others to see?

If we’re to act as the Light,
then why don’t we share
why to the Good News
don’t we make more people aware?

If we’re to live in the Light,
then why aren’t we a witness
why aren’t we spreading the truth
to those still living in darkness?

If we’re to be the Light,
then where is our power
why do we let satan . . .
our strength erode and devour?

If we walk in the Light,
our hope would radiate
and Jesus’ love for the world
we would always advocate!

“Let your light so shine before men,
that they may see your good works,
and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

The Thunderous Voice of God ~

If you could hear God’s voice,
you’d hear the power and the might
behind each word and syllable
making the universe take on flight.

You would hear Him tell the sun,
it was time to shine and rise
you could listen as He ordered it
to dip into the darkening skies.

You would hear Him tell the seasons,
what time to start and when to cease
you could listen as they obeyed Him
without rebellion but in peace.

You would hear Him tell the rain,
when it was time to turn to snow
you could listen to their respect for Him
as each little flake His voice knows.

If you could hear God’s voice,
you would know He was in control
not just of the universe . . .
but, of every heart and soul!

~~~~~~~~~
Job 37:5-6
“God thundereth marvellously
with his voice;
great things doeth he,
which we cannot comprehend.
For he saith to the snow,
Be thou on the earth;
likewise to the small rain,
and to the great rain
of his strength.”
A New Foundation ~
This coming New Year,
I’m redoing my Foundation
for it has started to creak
and its turning my faith weak.
I am going to rebuild it,
from the ground floor straight on up
Jesus will be the Corner Stone
so by every wind, I won’t get blown.
This coming New Year,
I’m getting back to the basics
all the wood, hay and stubble I keep
I’ll put into a rubbish-heap.
I’ll get back to the Gospel Truths,
then I’ll lay them upon the Rock
I’ll make sure they’re God proven
not ones construed by some human.
This coming New Year,
my Foundation will be transformed
and I pray it will bear the fire . . .
so I’ll be saved when I expire!
~~~~~~~~~~

Ephesians 2:20

“And are built upon the foundation
of the apostles and prophets,
Jesus Christ himself being
the chief corner stone;”

1 Corinthians 3:11-15

“For other foundation can no man lay
than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

Now if any man build upon this foundation
gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;

Every man’s work shall be made manifest:
for the day shall declare it, because
it shall be revealed by fire; and the
fire shall try every man’s work of
what sort it is.

If any man’s work abide which he
hath built thereupon,
he shall receive a reward.

If any man’s work shall be burned,
he shall suffer loss: but he himself
shall be saved; yet so as by fire.”

Faith Like A Thief ~

Give me faith Lord,
like the thief on the cross
for I am just a sinner
who is helpless and lost.

Intercede for Me,
from Your seat on the throne
plead with Your Father
heaven should be my home.

Give me faith Lord,
filled with Your grace
let Your love for me
my evil heart embrace.

 Remember me Lord,
when Your kingdom I enter
so in paradise with You
we can be for ever.

Give me faith Lord,
just like that remorseful thief
for when I die . . .
let it be, in utter belief!

~~~~~~~
Luke 23:40-43
“But the other answering rebuked him,
saying, Dost not thou fear God,
seeing thou art in the same condemnation?
And we indeed justly;
for we receive the due reward
of our deeds: but this man
hath done nothing amiss.
And he said unto Jesus, Lord,
remember me when thou comest
into thy kingdom.
And Jesus said unto him,
Verily I say unto thee,
Today shalt thou be with
me in paradise.”
The Object of My Faith ~
The object of my faith,
is Jesus and no other . . .
with anything or one else
I don’t even want to bother.
For, all other devices,
are just diversions
and all other gospels
are just perversions.
So, I keep my focus on,
what is my eternal goal
not that which will bring
damnation to my soul.
For, this world is full of,
all kinds of spiritualness
but, in Jesus I have found
truth and righteousness.
Jesus is the only object,
in which to put our trust
for, faith without His grace
alone cannot save us!
which taketh away
