We Need An Awakening ~

We need an awakening,
from our spiritual sleep
we need a revival . . .
to gather in more sheep.

We need to wake-up,
those dead in sin
so lives for Jesus
we can go and win.

We need an arousing,
of hearts made of stone
so Jesus for their sins
can forgive and atone.

We need a new dawning,
of eyes that are blind
so the Light of Jesus
can heal their mind.

We need an awakening,
a spiritual revival
before Jesus’ . . .
next arrival!

A Fresh Clean Start ~

A fresh clean start,
new beginnings too
not just for today . . .
but, all year through.

Putting behind the past,
pressing into the goal
loving God with all . . .
your heart, mind and soul.

New beginnings,
a fresh new clean start
when Jesus becomes
the beat in your heart.

Letting Him change you,
from the inside out
pushing back your fears
giving Him your doubt.

A fresh clean start,
is waiting for you . . .
oh, the mighty things
in you God can do!

a right spirit within me.”

When Faith Hibernates ~

Sometimes my faith feels,
as if it’s in hibernation . . .
like it decided to take off
on some wintry vacation.

Thought I know it’s alive,
I don’t feel it growing
it’s as if the living water
in it just stopped flowing.

Sometime my faith feels,
as if it’s been frozen . . .
like it just iced over
numbing my devotion.

Though I know it’s aware,
I don’t feel the fullness
it’s as if the well of life
lost its true brilliance.

Sometimes my faith needs,
a vivid reawakening
to bring it back from its . . .
self-inflected hibernating!

Just One Contrite Heart ~

You don’t need the masses,
for a revival to erupt . . .
you don’t need a large crowd
just one soul that’s not corrupt.

You don’t need a building,
for a revival to begin . . .
you don’t need a church pew
to light a fire burning within.

You don’t need a mega church,
for a revival to get lit . . .
you don’t need loud music
just you and the Holy Spirit.

You don’t need a Sunday service,
for a revival to ignite . . .
you don’t need an assembly
for a soul to flame and incite.

You don’t need the masses,
for a revival to start
all you need is just one . . .
lowly and contrite heart!

~~~~~~~~~
Isaiah 57:15
“For thus saith the high
and lofty One that inhabiteth
eternity, whose name is Holy;
I dwell in the high and holy place,
with him also that is of
a contrite and humble spirit,
to revive the spirit of the humble,
and to revive the heart
of the contrite ones.”
Renewed Each Day ~
I would have lost heart,
given up on spiritual things
I would have fainted away
from the troubles life brings.
I would have passed out,
lost my faith and my hope
I would have lost count
just thrown in the rope.
I would have sunk under,
the pressure of my fears
I would have called it quits
amidst all of my tears.
I would have been crushed,
under my heavy load
I would have gotten off
the narrow traveled road.
I would have lost heart,
if each day I wasn’t renewed
I would have given up Lord . . .
if I didn’t keep my eyes on You!
~~~~~~~~

2 Corinthians 4:16-18

“Therefore we do not lose heart.
Though
outwardly we are
wasting away,yet inwardly

we are being renewed day by day.
For our
light affliction,
which is but for a moment, is

working for us a far more exceeding
and
eternal weight of glory,
while we do not look

at the things which are seen,
but at the
things which are not seen.
For the things
which are seen
are temporary,
but the things
which are not seen
are eternal.”

Mind Renewing ~

Mind renewing,
is a daily must
if we’re to grow
our faith and trust.

For with it comes,
a heart cleaning
rightness of spirit
and God leaning.

Mind renewing,
is an exercise
so to the world
we won’t compromise.

For it’s transforming,
temptation discerning
keeping our souls
from in hell burning.

Mind renewing,
is a daily must . . .
for it is how God
leads and guide us!

~~~~~~~~~~
Romans 12:1-2
I beseech you therefore,
brethren, by the mercies of God,
that ye present your bodies
a living sacrifice, holy,
acceptable unto God,
which is your reasonable service.
And be not conformed to this world:
but be ye transformed by the
renewing of your mind, that ye may
prove what is that good,
and acceptable, and perfect,
will of God.”
A Clean, New Heart ~
A clean heart Lord,
create in us
one free of sin
evil and lust.
Free of worldliness,
free of selfish greed
free to see You are
everything we need.
A renewed Spirit Lord,
put into us
one that will always
in You put its trust.
Alert and resistant,
to the lies satan tells
one where Your own Spirit
abides and dwells.
A clean heart create,
a right spirit bestow
Lord in our lives
so Your will we may know!
my First Love’s thrill.
Quicken me Lord,
fast-track my hope
in my troubles give me
the strength to cope.
Quicken me Lord,
stir up my desire
set my soul for You
passionately on fire.
Quicken me Lord,
my heart revitalize
so to Your ways
I’ll not be desensitize..
Quicken me Lord,
expedite Your peace
so my trust in You . . .
may never end or cease!
Dust Dry ~
On days when I feel,
my faith is dust dry
when my spirit withers
as if it were to die.
I pick up my Bible,
to breathe some life back
into this soul of mine
for the hope that I lack.
On days when I feel,
my faith is desert dry
when the strength in me
takes a parched sigh.
Into the Word of God,
I quickly take a dive
and let the Holy Spirit
my very own revive.
On days when I feel,
an oncoming drought
I use God’s Word to shake
the dust off my doubt!
My soul cleaveth unto the dust:
quicken thou me according to thy word.
Before Your Lamp Fades ~
When your lamp begins to dull,
before it grows cold and dim
look for God in the darkness
and reignite, your trust in Him.
When your lamp looses its luster,
before it fades into the night
look for God in the shadows
and put your faith, back in His light.
When your lamp starts to flicker,
before it goes completely out
look for God in the flutter
and surrender to Him, all your doubt.
When your lamp is running low,
before it goes bone-dry
look for God in the flickering
and He will draw you, to Him nigh.
When your lamp barely shines,
before it loses its brilliance
look for God in the last glimmers
and rekindle for Him, your resilience!
“For thou art my lamp, O Lord:
and the Lord will lighten my darkness.”
Stir Our Hearts Lord ~
Stir our hearts Lord,
awaken our desire
to learn to do
all that You require.
Stir up our prayer life,
our thoughts stimulate
keep us on our knees
lest we become stagnate.
Stir our minds Lord,
excite us to press on
keep us watchful
till the race is won.
Stir up our faith life,
arouse our holy dullness
so we may be filled with
the Holy Spirit’s fullness.
Stir our souls Lord,
evoke a new awakening
let us have a resurgence
of Your Spirit’s enlightening!
Psalm 43:3-4
“O send out thy light and thy truth:
let them lead me; let them bring me
unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles.
He Restores My Joy ~
He restores my soul,
from the daily fatigue
He repairs my nerves
my fears, He relieves.
He restores my heart,
from its heaviness
He removes the pain
the hurt, the weariness.
He restores my faith,
when weakness sets in
He resets my trust
to follow after Him.
He restores my belief,
when there is doubt
He reinstates in my life
what His truth is about.
He restores my joy,
of a future sighting
He returns my watch
for that eye twinkling!
of thy salvation; and uphold
me with thy free spirit.”
If You Want To Be Transformed ~
if-you-want-to-be-transformed-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann
If  you want to be transformed,
your mind you must renew
worry, disbelief and fear
you’ll need to put behind you.
Thoughts of faith and trust,
must be your way of thinking
putting confidence in God
should be your only reasoning.
Any unbelief or doubt,
you will need to get rid of
instead your mind must dwell
on God’s peace and perfect love.
You’ll need to think obedience,
if you want to know God’s will
your stubbornness and pride
you’ll need to silence and still.
If you want to be transformed,
then you must be teachable
into the depth of your heart
God must be reachable!
~~~~~

Romans 12:2

“And be not conformed
to this world:
but be ye transformed
by the renewing
of your mind,
that ye may prove
what is that good,
and acceptable,
and perfect,
will of God.”

Praying for America ~

Praying for America ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

Father, keep us safe,
as we celebrate . . .
our country’s freedoms
that have made us great.

Let us not go further,
down the road of sin
help us to turn from
the wickedness within.

Bring us back,
to trusting in You
give this Nation
a heart that is new.

Make us humble,
let us see our shame
so we can prayerfully
call upon Your name.

Heal our land,
scour out the pride
so You can be
once again our guide.

Father, keep us safe,
until such a time
this Nation comes out
of its downward climb!

~~~~~~
2 Chronicles 7:14
“If my people,
which are called by my name,
shall humble themselves,
and pray, and seek my face,
and turn from their wicked ways;
then will I hear from heaven,
and will forgive their sin,
and will heal their land.”
We Need More FIRE ~
Holy Spirit by George Webster free photo #8684
We need more fire,
from our pulpits today
we need less smoke
about spiritual decay.
We need more brimstone,
in our sermons today
we need less indifference
as to why we go astray.
We need more heat,
from our preachers today
we need less aloofness
about the narrow way.
We need more fervor,
from our teachers today
we need less remoteness
about judgment day.
We need more passion,
from our churches today
we need to detach ourselves
from its idle hearsay!
We Need a Revival ~
We Need A True Revival ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann
Lord, we need to shift,
away from basic survival
we need to be moved . . .
to a place of true revival.
We need a spiritual jolt,
for we’ve become lukewarm
we need to be energized
so lives You can transform.
We need to break free,
from the same old routine
we need to be for You . . .
a soul saving machine.
We need to get motivated,
for we’re neither hot nor cold
we need to stop being tolerable
so for You we can be bold.
Lord, we need an awakening,
a real spiritual kick
lest You spit us out . . .
because we make You sick!
~~~~~~~~

Revelation 3:15-16

“I know thy works, that thou art
neither cold nor hot: I would
thou wert cold or hot.

So then because thou art lukewarm,
and neither cold nor hot, I will
 spue thee out of my mouth.”

Morning’s Upon Me ~

Morning's Upon Me ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann photo creation swap

Morning’s upon me,
a new day has dawn
I rise with the drops
of dew on my lawn.

Robins are singing,
their voices are clear
the perfume of lilacs
drift though the air.

I greet the new day,
like the robins I sing
of God’s tender mercies
a new day will bring.

Aromas of grace,
like lilacs do smell
praise for my Savior
in my heart swells.

Morning’s upon me,
a new day is here
its sights and sounds
bring my heart cheer.

For God has sent me,
the blessings of dew
dawning with the promise
all things He’ll make new!

~~~~~~~
Psalm 59:16
“But I will sing of thy power;
yea, I will sing aloud of
thy mercy in the morning:
A New Heart ~
Heart of Stone used with permission forgodsglorybibleversepictures
 Lord, thank You for giving,
me a heart just for you . . .
for cutting out the cold one
grafting in me, this one new.
Thank You for chiseling,
out the old stony one . . .
for carving into the new
the image of Your Son.
Thank You for turning,
my disbelief into trust . . .
for creating a heart of flesh
unmoved by worldly lust.
Thank You for molding,
a new spirit into me . . .
for shaping me in Your will
so I may be more like Thee.
Lord, thank You for melting,
my old, cold stony heart . . .
for giving me this new one
so Your love I may impart!
~~~~~~~~

Ezekiel 36:26

“A new heart also will I give you,
and a new spirit will I put within you:
and I will take away the stony heart out
of your flesh, and I will give you
a heart of flesh.”

Daily Renewal ~

Daily Renewal ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

Each day I’m being renewed,
I can feel it deep in my soul
every day I’m finding power
to press on towards the goal.

Each day I’m being changed,
I can feel it deep in my heart
every day that God gives me
is an amazing new start.

Each day I’m being transformed,
in my mind everything is new
every day Jesus is showing me
things about Him, I never knew.

Each day I’m being restored,
as I let Jesus work out in me
the mystery and eternal glory
in the things that I can’t see!

~~~~~~~~~~
Romans 12:2
King James Version
“And be not conformed to this world:
but be ye transformed by the
renewing of your mind,
that ye may prove what is that good,
and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
Our First Love ~
let-us-return-to-the-lord-CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann
Let us return to our First Love,
into the arms of everlasting grace
let our steps be healed and restored
let us earnestly seek God’s face.
Let us repent from our sins,
examine ourselves in His light
let us return to our First Love
with all our soul and might.
Let us turn to the Word of God,
for our path and instruction
let us return to our First Love
for the Way and true direction.
Let us lift our hearts and minds,
give unto God our very soul
let us return to our First Love
so we can once again be whole!
Lamentations 3:40
and turn again to the Lord.”
