Where The Holy Spirit Dwells ~

Sometimes down inside,
I feel this warmth within . . .
coming from a place so deep
I can’t explain just wherein.

There’s a sense of peace,
an inspired calmness
it fills my heart with joy
till it flows with gladness.

As I take it all in,
I feel a serene quietness
flooding my soul with . . .
a reassuring stillness.

I wish I could harness it,
so to always feel this way
I wish I could release it
every second of the day.

Sometimes way down deep,
a feeling rises up and swells
I know it comes from the place . . .
where the Holy Spirit dwells!

A Calming Shush ~

He stills the waves,
to a calming hush
He gives His peace . . .
as storms at us rush.

He silences the seas,
to a tranquil lull
He grants us strength
when ours is dull.

He quiets the storms,
the winds He subdues
He gives us faith
when ours we lose.

He quiets the streams,
to a tranquil creek
He sends us power
when ours is weak.

He stills our souls,
to a calming shush . . .
He relieves our fear

Word Garden ~

There is a place of calm,
for all of us to find . . .
a place to just let go
and find peace of mind.

Mine is in God’s garden,
amongst His Word I do reap
promises of green pastures
the gathering of His sheep.

Strolling along the path,
I bow down to smell a rose
the scent of His undying love
in my heart forever grows.

As I walk the narrow way,
I stop to pick a verse . . .
I’m in awe by His goodness
in His grace I’m immersed.

I stop and sit upon the bench,
under the arbor of my soul
I rest in the knowledge . . .
God is always in control!

Upon the break of day,
I feel a calming stillness . . .
where everything appears
to be oddly motionless.

The sedated quietness,
infiltrates the early dawn
to the sound of silence
I find myself gently drawn.

The placid tranquility,
awakens up my soul
to ponder how only God
could this quietude control.

The peace radiating down,
seems so imaginable
that in its grip I remain
completely immovable.

Surrounded in silence,
I sense this to be . . .
just the kind of stillness
for Jesus to meet me!

When Doubt Whispers ~

When doubt whispers,
in your ear . . .
tell it right away
to get out of here.

to what it has to say

Peaceful rest,

Heaven Sent ~

Now that this storm is over,
now that I see blue skies
now that the ocean holds
the bounty of my cries.

I now know Jesus,

He was the only reason

Engulfed In Silence ~

When my heart,
I turn over to silence
when I let it listen
for God’s guidance.

I experience a hush,
an inner stillness
as I let His Spirit
to my soul witness.

When my mind,
I turn over to calmness
when I let it reflect
on all God’s promises.

I feel the tranquility,
only He can provide
as I let His Spirit
my thoughts guide.

When my heart and mind,
are engulfed in silence
God reveals to me . . .
how His peace is timeless!

Fear’s Canvas ~

When night turns,
thoughts anxious
casting shadows
on fear’s canvas.

Turn to God,
to ease your mind
and His peace
you will find.

When night’s dread,
long fingers wrap
and your heart
it has in a trap.

Turn to God,
to release its grasp
and onto His calm
let your heart clasp.

When you’re exhausted,

one blunder after another.

That’s when you need,
to take a breather

Lord, thank You for being,
my calm before the storm
for bringing me peace . . .
before it starts to form.

For, I never know,
when one I’ll go through
and when I do . . .
I want it to be with You.

Lord, thank You for going,
into the storm with me
there’s no one else
with whom I’d rather be.

For, only You can still,
my fears that fall and crest
and provide for me
an anchor on which to rest.

Oh Lord, may this Autumn,

Those Still Waters ~

When my spirit,
is weighted down
from the tension
that is all around.

My Good Shepherd,
