Lord, it is You that I trust,
for You are just and fair

when to God we confide.

Lord, give me a thankful heart,
one always appreciative
one that to all your blessings
is attuned and meditative.

each day full of praise
let it show my gratitude

truly thankful for all things
no matter what in my life
You should choose to bring.

In The Wilderness of My Soul ~

Lord, in the wilderness of my soul,
there are valleys deep and low . . .
and sometimes I wander in them
not sure the direction I should go.

In my doubt I meet with despair,
and my thoughts turn to giving up
for in my desperation . . .
I don’t see Your grace in my cup.

Lord, in the wilderness of my soul,
there are mountains high and wide
and sometimes all I want to do
is just to run away and hide.

In my fear I meet with dread,
with each obstacle I come to
but, I know I must get past them
if I want to get closer to You.

Lord, there’s a wilderness in my soul,
a vast land of empty spaces
long roads for me to travel on
with plenty of rough places.

But, I know I’m on the path,
leading me straight to You . . . .
and with Your strength and help
I know I’ll make it through!

God Will Always Mend ~

I have lived a life of losses,
with hardship as my friend . . .
but I’ve come to understand
how God will always mend.

For there is not a problem,
too great for Him to take
not a soul He can’t change
regenerate or remake.

There isn’t a broken heart,
Jesus cannot repair . . .
not a soul He won’t save
from the depth of despair.

For there is not a worry,
which for Him is too small
no trouble is too imposing
for He came to bear them all.

So no matter what your loss,
no matter where you’ve been
let God repair and mend . . .
the effects of pain and sin!

He repairs hearts,

mends the spirit
heals the soul.

the deep recesses
where painful thoughts
hide and depresses.

to those in need

vastly exceed.

He steadies the nerves,
calms down the mind
so our fragile past
we can leave behind.

He’s the missing piece . . .

Lord Of My Strength ~

Lord, my strength isn’t in my bones,
for they’re too weak and frail . . .
my strength is in the knowledge
Your Spirit in me will never fail.

My strength does not come,
from anything that I can do
for, I have very little power
if it does not come from You.

Lord, my strength can’t be found,
by going to the gym or spa . . .
it shows up when I exercise
to You, my holy awe.

My strength is thin and feeble,
and sometimes I cannot stand
but, when I draw close to You
I feel the power of Your hand.

my burdens would be too heavy

Shine Your Light ~

Your light can shine,
without saying a word
volumes it can speak
without being heard.

The light of your smile,
says I’ll brighten your day
the light of your touch

Autumn Blessings ~

Autumn brings the soul relief,
as hot Summer days slip to an end
God sent the season to weary hearts
so He can restore, repair and mend.

Just as with the Autumn winds,
there comes a new refreshing rain
God sent the season for fraying hearts
so they can mature, grow and gain.

Unlike the Autumn trees,
that shed their changing leaves
God sent the season for wary hearts
so to Him they’d adhere and cleave.

The Autumn sun is slow to climb,
dipping much earlier into the night
God sent the season for sleepy hearts
to rise, shine and awake in His light.

God gave to us the Autumn season,
so we could have a respite and rest . . .
for it is the season for our beset souls
to see how much we are truly blessed!

a spirit willing to go the length

letting God supply the strength.

a determination to do God’s will

a resolve to keep pressing on

for the faithful race to be won.

It takes perseverance,
a heart willing to go the distance
it takes a dedicated mind
able to handle the resistance.

eyes always kept on the goal

A Sound Heart ~

A sound heart,
doesn’t miss a beat
it lays its cares
at Jesus’ feet.

It puts its trust,
into His hands

Lord, Tell Me What You See ~

Lord search my heart,
tell me what You see . . .
let me know if any evil
is still left inside of me.

Take a real close look,
for the sin that’s hidden
any idols I hold onto
keeping me yet smitten.

Once You point them out,
let me get rid of . . .
all that still keeps me
from Your prefect love.

Then put me on the path,
to the everlasting way
so that I may follow it

God’s Saving Light ~

If I could gather,
all the rays of God’s light
every blinded eyes . . .
would be given a new sight.

For within each beam,
the blinded eye would see
how the grace of Jesus
came to set them free.

If I could reap,
every ounce of God’s light
everyone would be full
of the power of His might.

For within each burst,
His love would crystallize
and His mercy for them
they would personalize.

If I could gather,

Grace and Faith ~

Grace and faith,
brings true liberation
for, it’s the only way
to finding salvation.

There’s no other path,
that we can take
only Jesus can seal
our eternal fate.

Grace and faith,
fits just like a glove
for it’s the greatest gift
of God’s merciful love.

There’s no other road,
for us to travel on
there’s only one way
to God and His Son.

Grace and faith,
nothing else to do
but to believe . . .
Jesus died for you!

Wresting With My Spirit ~

Sometimes with my spirit,
I use to wrestle with . . .
I’d toss and I’d turn over
whether God was just a myth.

I tussled with the thoughts,
of God’s mercy and His grace
I contended with the fact
that I’d ever see His face.

Sometimes with my heart,
I’d have a great debate
over whether heaven
would be my eternal fate.

I mulled around in my mind,
if Jesus died for me
and whether from my sins
I’d ever really be set free.

 I use to wrestle with,
the very enemy of my soul . . .
but, now to his attacks I’m aware
and refuse to give him control!

A Shout of Joy~

Early in the morning,
before the sun is ablaze
give a shout of pure joy
a song of heartfelt praise.

Make a sweet melody,
and show your gratitude
sing out your praises
with a joyful attitude.

Early in the morning,
before the sun begins to rise
remember His loving-kindness
under the darken skies.

Clap your hands together,
lift your arms up in praise
give your day to the Lord
thank Him for His ways.

While the dew is still set,
on the morning lawn
while the house is dark
before there is a new dawn.

Show your thankfulness,
to the Lord up above
lift up your heart-song
and praise Him for His love.

When your day is over,
as the sun dims its blazing light
thank God for His faithfulness
all though the starry night!
