As troubles come,
as they most surely will
when the road ahead of you
looks all up hill.
When you are at a loss,
as to what to do
and you’ve no answers
not even a clue.
Look unto Jesus,
He knows how high the climb
He’ll help you over it
in His perfect time.
As hardships come,
as they seem to do
when they start to get
the very best of you.
When the pit you’re in,
is beyond waist deep
and all your cares
make you want to weep.
Look unto Jesus,
He will never let you sink
He is not as far away
as you may think.
As burdens come,
as they begin to occur
and in your mind
everything’s a big blur.
When nothing seems,
to make much sense
and you start to feel
nervous and tense.
Look unto Jesus,
He’ll give to you a new sight
and you’ll start to see . . .
everything through His light!
~~~~~~~~
Looking unto Jesus
the author and finisher of our faith;
who for the joy that was set before
him endured the cross, despising the
shame, and is set down at the right
hand of the throne of God.
When old baggage,
drags you down
you needn’t keep
carrying it around.
Pack it all up,
right away
give it to Jesus
without delay.
When feeling heavy,
from burden’s laden
and your back . . .
you can’t straighten.
Unpack your load,
into Jesus’s hand
and you will again
unladen stand.
When old baggage,
has you feeling tired and beat
get unpacking now . . .
and leave all at Jesus’ feet!
Philippians 3:13-14
” Brethren, I count not myself
but this one thing I do,
forgetting those things
which are behind, and
reaching forth unto those
things which are before,
I press toward the mark
for the prize of the high
calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Be anxious for naught,
let nothing cause you dread
let go of that worry
filling up in your head.
Be concerned for zilch,
let Jesus take your care
let go of all that you fear
so your anxiety He can bear.
Be nervous for nada,
let Jesus have your doubt
let go of those problems
that are stressing you out.
Be burdened for zip,
let your troubles not alarm
let go of that heavy load
place it all in Jesus’ arms.
Be anxious for nothing,
is Jesus’ command to us
His peace He wants to give . . .
if we’d just let go and trust!
We all face trials,
of many different kinds
some attack our bodies
others beset our minds.
Some assault our faith,
causing us to doubt
some assail our trust
tossing us all about.
We all have troubles,
just different situations
we all have suffered . . .
from diverse temptations.
Some know the results,
of falling for Satan’s lies
other’s feel the effects
of sin and compromise.
We all face trials,
hardships of all kinds
but, we won’t be defeated
if we let joy fill out minds!
Ever have,
one of those days . . .
you know the kind I mean
when you feel in a haze?
Nothing goes right,
from when you awaken
you feel heavily loaded
burdened and down laden.
Ever have,
one of those days . . .
where by the hour
you feel in a daze?
No matter what you do,
your bubble gets burst
everything goes . . .
from bad to worse.
Ever have,
one of those days . . .
well you can shake free of them
by giving God your praise!
Acts 16:25-27
“And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed,
Every day I find myself,
in the need for more hope
so I turn to my Bible . . .
for insights to help me cope.
Without its encouragement,
I know I would faint away
for tomorrow will surely bring . . .
more troubles than today.
Whenever I am struggling,
with what I should do . . .
I turn to the Scriptures
till my confidence grows anew.
The Bible persuades me,
to trust with all my heart
I gain security in knowing
Jesus from me, will never part.
Every day I find myself,
learning how to daily cope . . .
for each day I read all about
the reasons behind my hope!
Sometimes letting go,
isn’t so easy to do . . .
especially when worry
has a tight hold on you.
But God wants from us,
every troubling little thing
all that we can’t handle
so His power He can bring.
Sometimes letting go,
to us, doesn’t seem best
but if we’re to hang on
we’ll never find any rest.
For God wants to relieve,
the weight of our care
and learn to trust Jesus
so our burdens He’ll bear.
It’s not easy letting go,
letting God do instead
but if we do and believe . . .
His peace will start to spread!
anxieties, hardships, burdens
all kinds of different cares.
Sorrows, sorrows, sorrows . . .
so much pain and distress
grief, misery, suffering
all kinds of different stress.
Tears, tears, tears . . .
so many are being shed
persecution, torment, anguish
all kinds of different dread.
Wars, wars, wars . . .
murders, slaughters, executions
all kinds of different squads
Troubles, sorrows, tears, wars . . .
when will it all come to an end
It’s a daily thing,
this Christian walk
it’s a one-step-at-a-time
this Christian walk.
It’s a journey,
at times a troublesome one
it’s a battle
with Satan that must be won.
It’s a voyage,
one storm right after another
it’s a struggle
to keep our faith from going under.
It’s a passage,
from the darkness into the light
it’s an encounter
needing all our strength and might.
It’s an expedition,
with our very own cross to bear
it’s a fight
not to buckle under from our care.
It’s a daily thing,
this Christian walk
it’s a one-step-at-a-time
to walk this Christian walk!
My God He is in the midst,
I shall not be moved . . .
He is always at my side
this He has always proved.
For, He is my sure refuge,
He has kept me safe
in Him, I have placed
every ounce, of my faith.
My God, is in the midst,
though, my troubles soar
in Him I shall rise . . .
above their anxious roar.
For, He is my helper,
ever-present, ever-near
I call upon His name . . .
to calm my every fear.
My God, He is in the midst,
continually He has proved
nothing that life brings me
shall cause me to be moved!
I’ve been through troubled waters,
in the turbulence of my mind
I’ve been tossed and shaken
by violent winds of every kind.
I’ve been blown from here to there,
in this whirlwind called life . . .
I’ve been in the many storms
that have only caused me strife.
I’ve been through tumultuous times,
they were long as they were hard
I’ve been through mind twisters
that should have left me scarred.
I’ve been in deep dark waters,
with no sure way to get out
I’ve been in Satan’s cesspool
filled with fear and doubt.
I’ve been through troubled waters,
of every type and every kind . . .
but, Jesus has been the bridge
guarding my heart and mind!
Is your heart heavy,
are you in pain
do your troubles . . .
fall like acid rain?
Are you in mourning,
is your heart broken
do you feel as if . . .
time has been frozen?
Are you in despair,
haven’t a notion
are you just going . . .
through the motions?
Do you feel hopeless,
times hitting you hard
has anguish left you . . .
despondent and scarred.
Well don’t you give up,
don’t fall into a heap
joy will come after
all the tears you weep.
God’s making something,
beautiful out of you . . .
just give Him your cares
and all things He’ll make new!
When difficulties come at you,
and troubles are all around
when worried about life’s burdens
and their hurdles you can’t bound.
That’s when you need to take a grip,
hold on to God’s righteous hand
for, Jesus won’t let you fall
and in His strength you will stand.
When problems can’t be solved,
and you have nowhere else to turn
when others try to help you out
but your fears they can’t discern.
That’s when you need to take hold,
of God’s mighty right hand
for, Jesus won’t let you down
all your anxieties He’ll understand.
When life hands you a lemon,
but you don’t like lemonade . . .
when all those around you
fail to come to your aid.
That’s when you need to give up,
and rest in His loving hands
for, Jesus wants you to grasp
He has for you, His own plans!
I got me many worries,
an awful lot of cares
but on my soul
they don’t wear and tear.
Problems that come my way,
I simply toss aside
in my mind
I don’t let them reside.
When I’m in a predicament,
I lose not one single hair
on my heart
they don’t give me a scare.
Everything that bothers me,
I give to my Burden Bearer
for, Jesus promised me . . .
Though they may be temporary,
my troubles still do weigh . . .
on my heart, they are heavy
on my soul, they yet prey.
When God needs my attention,
I feel like I’m on fire
but, He is only testing my faith
and the depth of my desire.
So, He puts me in the furnace,
to refine me like gold
He uses the potter’s wheel
so His image He can mold.
He uses His Word as a bridle,
to keep me on the straight path
He prunes and He trims
so I may never know His wrath.
He places me in dark valleys,
to see the world’s wickedness
He puts me in arid places
so I’ll thirst after righteousness.
Though they may be temporary,
my troubles still do weigh . . .
but, I know they will bring me
into a glorious new day!
Troubled waters lie ahead,
blinding wind and foam
but my heart is set to sail
right into my eternal home.
Every crashing wave,
tests my faith once more
but I will ride each one out
till I reach heaven’s shore.
The swells rise and fall,
causing me to be fearsome
but I will fight them off
till I enter God’s kingdom.
Each burst of angry wind,
seeks to take me down
but I’ll stand up to its rage
till I wear victory’s crown.
My troubles keep mounting,
but they’ll not take over me
for, Jesus will calm the waters
till together ~ we can be!
I’ve climbed that mountain,
I’ve been to the top
I saw the valley below
I saw how far the drop.
I made it anyway,
I was able to overcome
all the obstacles before me
I was able to overrun.
I didn’t do it alone,
Sometimes, I cry out to God,
when being pushed to my limit
I pray asking Him to bring me
Whenever I am frighten,
when I’m knee-deep in my fears
I cry out for His light to shine
till the darkness disappears.
When my troubles hang on,
when they won’t let go of me
I cry out for His mighty power
so I can make Satan flee.
When illness comes my way,
when the pain keeps on growing
I cry out for His healing touch
When sad and depressed,
when I become withdrawn
I cry out for His help
Crying out to God,
is so natural to do . . .
prayer becomes a part of you!
Yesterday it was cloudy,
my vision was not clear
and in the gloominess
I only saw what I fear.
Everything was blurred,
nothing made much sense
my troubles looked so huge
oh, so ever immense.
With clouds of doubt all around,
the unknown was looking dim
and I knew I just needed . . .
to continue to trust in Him.
For what I cannot discern,
when I am in the dark
Jesus will show me in His time
When trials come at you,
from every source and way
when they sleep with you at night
and awaken with you each day.
When they come out of nowhere,
attacking you from all sides
laying their angry claws into you
shredding you apart inside.
That is when you need to go,
to the One who promises . . .
that our burdens, He will bear.
Jesus, will take your troubles,
When you don’t know what to do,
and His answers haven’t come to you
when you’re feeling down and out
and you’re anxious and full of doubt.
That’s the time you need to look,
for His promises in the Good Book
you’ll find the remedy for your needs
when to His Word your spirit heeds.
When your troubles take over you,
and worry surrounds all you do
when you’re down and feeling sad
and your fears just mount and add.
That’s the time you need to pray,
asking the Lord to lead the way
He’ll lead you down the right path
so His will for you, you will know.
When waiting for answers to your prayers,
remember that God has all your cares
for He’ll never take His eyes off you
so trust in Him no matter what you do!
more than a million prayers
for the relief from our pain
the weight of our cares.
A thousand worries,
too many fears to number
so many disturbing thoughts
A thousand burdens,
a multitude of troubles
leave their wear and tear.
a million more to come
but with faith in Jesus
we shall overcome!
The pressures of life,
weigh heavy on the soul
when we don’t let God . . .
have complete control.
His timing is perfect,
His ways always pure
and for our anxiety
He has the only cure.
We need to draw on,
the power of His might
we need to believe
He’ll lead with His light.
For in His saving light,
there’s a peace that eases
when we come to realize
He does what He so pleases.
So bundle up your burdens,
place them in Gods hands
then find rest in knowing . . .
all is well with His plans!
In this life, there will be troubles,
trials and tribulations too
in this world, we will be hated
all because ~ Lord, we love You.
In this life, there will be heartache,
seasons of tears, reasons to grieve
in this world, we will be detested
all because ~ in You we believe.
In this life, there will be hardships,
difficulties, struggles and defeat
in this world, we will be disliked
all because ~ You make us complete.
In this life, we will have problems,
battles, fights with the impossible
in this world, we will not be liked
all because ~ in You all is possible.
In this life, things won’t be easy,
but as Christians we’ll make it through
in this world, we’ll not have favor
all because ~ Lord, we trust in You !
Acts 14:22
King James Version
“Confirming the souls of the disciples,
and exhorting them to continue in the faith,
and that we must through much tribulation
to enter into the kingdom of God.”
When all you have left is anguish,
when there’s nothing more you can do
and all of your pain and suffering
has taken the very best from you.
When your trials turn to tribulations,
when they start to overburden you
and the measure of your troubles
you can no longer alone get through.
When your misery turns to despair,
when you feel a hopelessness inside
and another raging, internal storm
you don’t have the strength to ride.
When all you have left is Jesus,
when you finally come to your knees
and you give Him all your hardships
you’ll find He’ll fulfill all your needs.
For Jesus is our Friend and Savior,
and He will never disappoint
He is always there to help us . . .
before we reach our breaking point!
that a man lay down his life for his friends.”
~
On the troubled sea,
blinded by wind and foam
my heart is set to sail . . .
towards my eternal home.
The rise of each crashing wave,
tests my faith once more
but, I’m determined to ride them out
till I land on heavens shore.
The raging swells I will fight,
I’ll not give up on Thee
for my soul is anchored to the One
with whom I am meant to be.
Every gust of the angry wind,
seeks to take me down
but, I will stand up to their wrath
till I receive victories crown.
Though the seas are troubled,
and have their sights out for me
I’ll endure each battering wave
for my sails Lord are set on Thee!
James 1:12
King James Version
“Blessed is the man
that endureth temptation:
for when he is tried,
he shall receive
the crown of life,
which the Lord hath promised
to them that love him.”
The Lord is my strength,
without Him, I can do nothing
with Him, all is possible
for I trust Him, in everything.
Though my troubles are many,
my hope is in His light
His salvation brings me peace
takes my fear from the night.
I will trust in my Lord,
no matter what life brings
for I know He’s in control
of every single thing.
I know I can count on,
my Lord guiding me
and through every trial
with me, He’ll always be.
The Lord is my strength,
I am fearful for nothing
as long as He is with me
I’m ready for anything!
Whom shall I fear?”
I would have lost heart,
given up on spiritual things
I would have wasted away
from all the troubles life brings.
I would have passed out,
lost my faith and my hope
I would have lost count
and just thrown in the rope.
I would have sunk under,
the pressure of my fears
I would have called it quits
amidst all of my tears.
I would have been crushed,
under the weight of my load
I would have gotten off
on the narrow traveled road.
I would have lost heart,
if each day I wasn’t renewed
I would have given up Lord . . .
but I kept my eyes on You!
~~~~~~~~
2 Corinthians 4:16-18
King James Version
“Therefore we do not lose heart.
Though outwardly we are
wasting away,yet inwardly
we are being renewed day by day.
For our light affliction,
which is but for a moment, is
working for us a far more exceeding
and eternal weight of glory,
while we do not look
at the things which are seen,
but at the things which are not seen.
For the things which are seen
are temporary,
but the things which are not seen
are eternal.”
