Reassure me Lord,
just where is my hope
so that in today’s world
I’ll be equipped to cope.
Remind me once again,
I’m just passing through
on my journey to spend
eternity with you.
Reassure me Lord,
just where is my home
so while on this earth
from You I’ll not roam.
Reaffirm my faith,
my trust, my belief
so that in all the chaos
I can find some relief.
Reassure me Lord,
help me to be diligent
remind me till the end . . .
to remain vigilant!
~~~~~~~~
Hebrews 6:11
And we desire that every one
of you do shew the same
diligence to the full assurance
of hope unto the end:
God, my Patience,
my Stamina, My Fortitude
my heart for You . . .
is filled with deep gratitude.
For Your mercy gives me,
the willpower to run
each day the faithful race
so that it can be won.
God, My Endurance,
my Strength, my Tenacity
Your power gives me
resilience and vitality.
For You bring into my life,
the faith to trust in You
regardless of the situations
You may have me go through.
God, my Patience,
my Calm, my Perseverance
may You find me faithful . . .
upon Your reappearance!
for that we see not,
then do we with patience
wait for it.
Lord, help us to run,
this race we are in
help us to finish well
so the prize we can win.
Give us the stamina.
the patience for endurance
give us the spiritual muscle
to keep going the distance.
Lord, help us to run,
right past temptation
help us to keep our eyes
on our true destination.
Give us strength,
keep us fit and strong
so we’ll not be dismayed
when things go wrong.
Lord, help us to run,
so that we may win . . .
this race before us
over evil and sin!
which run in a race run all,
but one receiveth the prize?
So run, that ye may obtain.
Conversion isn’t always,
instantly spontaneous
for most people it is . . .
fragile and precarious.
For us it’s a transition,
from the old into the new
and we know it will take
a lifetime to get through.
Transformation isn’t always,
an over night occurrence
for most people it is . . .
building up endurance.
For us it’s a slow process,
to keep our faith growing
and we know it will take
perseverance knowing.
Conversion doesn’t always,
happen with speed or quickness
but we know what God begun . . .
when Christ returns He’ll finish!
I have decided,
to take up my cross
to wear it, to bear it
no matter the loss.
I am persuaded,
it’s the right thing to do
to lift it, to carry it
all my days through.
I am compelled,
to take up my cross
to endure it, to suffer it
no matter the loss.
I am convinced,
it is my obligation
to accept it, to tolerate it
without hesitation.
I am determined,
to take up my cross
to bear it, carry it, endure it . . .
no matter what the loss!
Jesus is my Peace,
my hope’s assurance
He is my calm
giving me endurance.
Jesus is my love,
my faith’s objective
He is my purpose
giving me perspective.
Jesus is my anchor,
my trust’s serenity
He is my Rock
giving me tranquility.
Jesus is my Advocate,
my sin absorber
He is my Refuge
giving me a safe harbor.
Jesus is my peace,
my happy ever after
Jesus is to me . . .
all that really matters!
We all need endurance,
to run the faithful race
we all need the strength
found in God’s grace.
We all need encouragement,
to keep our goal in sight
we all need the power
of the Holy Spirit’s might.
We all need perseverance,
to help us to keep pressing
we all need more joy
to keep us from stressing.
We all need patience,
in these trying of times
we all need godly virtue’s
so not to cross the fine lines.
We all need a pep talk,
as the faithful race we run
we all need to hear each day
it is our’s to be won!
You can be an endurer,
you can persist
if to the world’s wicked ways
you will resist.
You can be an overcomer,
you can prevail
if you don’t let satan’s arrows
your faith impale.
You can be an achiever,
you can win
if you run away from
all forms of sin.
You can be an opposer,
you can contend
if you don’t conform
or be the world’s friend.
You can do it,
you can win the race . . .
just keep looking to Jesus
for assurance and grace!
Hebrews 12:1-2
“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed
about with so great a cloud of witnesses,
let us lay aside every weight,
and the sin which doth so easily beset us,
and let us run with patience the race
that is set before us,
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher
of our faith; who for the joy that was set
before him endured the cross, despising
the shame, and is set down at the right
hand of the throne of God.”
I have entered,
a marathon
and my eyes
are set upon . . .
To run with grace,
and perseverance
to not let sin
be an interference.
To go for the goal,
to push, to strain
so my reward
I’ll be able to gain.
To be faithful,
to the very end
to with this world
not be its friend.
To stay the course,
to claw, to fight
to win the battle
with God’s might.
To be peculiar,
to finish well
lest for eternity
I’ll spend in hell.
I’ve entered a marathon,
I am racing toward . . .
the day I will meet Jesus
my Savior and Lord!
Sometimes when we pray,
we want an instant result
and if we do not get it . . .
we take it as an insult.
So we become disillusioned,
for many of us think
that the chain of prayer
is some kind of magic link.
But, God isn’t a genie,
who grants our every wish
nor a leprechaun with a pot . . .
of gold to make us rich.
Instead, we must be diligent,
and in our prayers persevere
not letting our disappointment
with God’s stillness to interfere.
Sometimes when we pray,
we want answers instantly
so if God has you waiting . . .
do so ever patiently!
Our prayers require,
our perseverance
and a thankful heart
to fuel our endurance.
For our supplications,
to a God who knows all
need from grateful lips
to unceasingly fall.
When we’ve no words,
to utter or to speak
when our groanings turn
ineffective and weak.
The Holy Spirit,
for us will intercede
and an indebted heart
we are going to need.
Our prayers require,
our praise and thanksgiving
to a God that’s always been
trusting and forgiving!
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
“Rejoice evermore.
Pray without ceasing.
In every thing give thanks:
for this is the will of God
in Christ Jesus concerning you.”
Romans 8:26
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth
our infirmities:
for we know not what we should pray
for as we ought: but the Spirit itself
maketh intercession for us with
groanings which cannot be uttered.
