Keep Me Thristy, Lord ~

Water Bottle by Daniel R free photo #10215

Keep me thirsty Lord,
let not my soul dry out
keep me in the Word
where hope runs throughout.

Keep me thirsty Lord,
let not my love wane or wither
keep me in the Bible
where joy flows like a river.

Keep me thirsty Lord,
let not my heart shrivel
keep me in the Scriptures
where peace never fizzles.

Keep me thirsty Lord,
let not my spirit dehydrate
keep me in the Verses
where grace never evaporates.

Keep me thirsty Lord,
let not my faith decrease or shrink
keep me in the Word  . . .
where living waters I can drink!

John 7:3

“In the last day, that great day of the feast,
Jesus stood and cried, saying,
If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.”

I Delight In His Word ~

Live In The Bible ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann ~ used with permission IBible Verses

My faith in God keeps growing,
it’s getting sturdier everyday
for, I delight myself in His Word
no matter the time of day.

The Word of God is nourishment,
day or night, it makes me strong
it brings refreshment to my soul
it’s where my heart belongs.

There is a continuous renewal,
flowing right out of my Bible
daily there’s a Godly influence
no matter my burden or trial.

I can see the fruit of His Spirit,
maturing right inside of me . . .
no matter the time of the season
I know in God’s Word, I will be.

My faith in God keeps growing,
to the truth, my life I dedicate
I delight myself in His Word
as on the Scriptures I meditate!

Psalm 1:2

“But his delight is in the law of the Lord;
and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

God’s Will ~

the-will-of-god-CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

Some people struggle,
with knowing God’s will
some people think
they just have to be still.

Some people toil,
laboring night and day
some people say “works”
are the only way.

Some people resist,
they just can’t conceive
some people just plainly
do not believe.

Some people are busy,
doing other things
some people can’t see
what good it will bring.

Some people understand,
if God’s will they’re to know
then into their Bible . . .
they will have to go!

2 Timothy 3:16-17
King James Version

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God,
and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof,
for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

“That the man of God may be perfect,
thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”

The Word of God ~

His Presence used with permission IBible Verses

The Word of God is alive,
active and ever-living
piercing through the soul
of every human being.

It’s the world’s worst critic,
everyone’s eternal judge
it carves out the sinfulness
as it slices through the sludge.

God uses it as a scalpel,
to sever mankind’s disbelief
it brings to every soul
the promise of eternal relief.

No soul is too dark or evil,
that it cannot penetrate
no heart is too cold or tough
that it cannot permeate.

The Word of God is piercing,
it cuts through and through
and if you were to let it . . .
it’ll carve His image inside you!

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hebrews 4:12
King James Version
“For the word of God is quick, and powerful,
 and sharper than any twoedged sword,
piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit,
and of the joints and marrow,
and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
My Road Map ~
I Have Hidden used with pemission IBible Verses
The Word is my road map,
that guides me along my way
leading me with great wisdom
to help me through my day.
When I am at a crossroad,
not sure of the way to go
I ask Jesus for directions
so the true way I will know.
When I find I’m too weary,
to make it down the road
I pray for His endurance
to help me with my load.
When I get off His path,
and I wander on my own
I get down on my knees
till His way for me is shown.
Yes, the Word is our road map,
the perfect guide for each of us
but we must read the scriptures
if in Jesus we’re going to trust!
Seek the Lord ~
Hidden in My Heart used with permission Doorpost Verses
Seek the Lord. . .
With your whole heart,
give Him all you’ve got
search and you will find Him
more than you ever thought.
Find His blessings for you,
they’re written in His book
just open up the pages
and have for yourself a look.
Search for His answers,
there written just for you
trust and believe in Him
and watch what He will do.
Ask Him what He wants,
listen for His replies
His Word will come alive
right before your eyes.
Hear Him calling to you,
He’ll even say your name
find His promise’s for you
they’re yours for you to claim!
Psalm 119:2
King James Version
“Blessed are they that keep his testimonies,
and that seek him with the whole heart.”
The Light Unto My Path ~
Your Word My Light
I tuck the Word in my heart,
then go about my way . . .
I know having the truth in me
will take me through my day.
I get such joy and pleasure,
in every delightful saying
I can hear the Word’s of God
whenever I am praying.
I long to have study time,
to meditate and learn
for I desire that the Word
be the only lamp I burn.
Upon my lips I do savor,
every morsel that I’ve heard
to me there is not anything
more satisfying than the Word.
I tuck the Word in my heart,
for it renews me day-to-day
it goes with me wherever I go
for it is the light unto my way!
Psalm 119:105
King James Version
“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet,
and a light unto my path.”
My Anchor ~
I thought I could sail,
and coast along the way
until I got caught
in a storm the other day.
I wasn’t really ready,
for the tempest ahead of me
for these once calm waters
were becoming an angry sea.
As the wind began to blow,
it threw me off my chair
when it started to howl
it gave me quite a scare.
But, I held on to the wheel,
aimed for the shore
I stepped on the gas
with the pedal to the floor.
As the sea began to churn,
I saw I wasn’t going anywhere
so I threw in my anchor
knowing I had to prepare.
I clung onto my faith,
prayed with all my might
I hung onto every promise
He’d guide me in His light.
As the waves tossed and turned,
I gathered up my trust
quoted from the Scriptures
with each and every thrust.
When the storm was finally over,
and I was safely at the dock
I was glad that I set my anchor
to the One I call my Rock!
King James Version
anchor of the soul,
 both sure and stedfast:”
Jesus is the well of the living water, the Holy Spirit.
“It was the last and most important day of the Feast. Jesus stood up and spoke in a loud voice. He said, "Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Does anyone believe in me? Then, just as Scripture says, streams of living water will flow from inside him." When he said this, he meant the Holy Spirit. Those who believed in Jesus would receive the Spirit later. Up to that time, the Spirit had not been given. This was because Jesus had not yet received glory.” ‭‭(John‬ ‭7:37-39‬)
