As Long As I am Living ~

God how can I show my gratitude,
for all You have done for me
should I kneel in this space in time
unmoving on bent knee?

Shall I lift my arms to the heavens,
never to let them fall to my side
should I raise my voice even higher
and never allow it to subside?

Shall I shout from my rooftop,
about Your mercies I have seen
should I scream over the oceans roar
of how much to me You mean?

Shall I praise Your Holy name,
from the highest mountain top
should I exalt You night and day
and never for a moment stop?

God, I will give You my praise,
as long as I am living

The Threads of My Life ~

Lord, with needle and thread,
held in my aging hands . . .
I see the pattern of my life
before You as it stands.

I draw the threads of my youth,
and weave them into my past
ever so thankful to You . . .
that those days did not last.

I pull on the threads of faith,
how they unraveled apart
until the day I asked You
to come and change my heart.

I tug at the threads of doubt,
that were interlocked in my life
and see that they were woven
with the fibers of my strife.

I twist the threads of trust,
that were braided all through
and saw the things I did
only by the strength of You.

Lord, I can see silver threads,
 turning into golden ones . . .
and how You spun us together
with the grace of Your Son!

Rest My Soul Be At Rest ~

Rest my soul be at rest,
return to your state of peace
give your fears to the Lord
onto Him your anxieties release.

Revisit His loving kindness,
dwell in the calmness of His ease
retire thyself in His fullness
let His grace bow your weary knees.

Rest my soul be at rest,
recall the day Jesus you met
give all your worries to Him
and over them do not fret.

Go back to your youthful days,
remember His patience bountiful
reclaim your right to His respite
for His mercies are plentiful.

let God comfort and console
return to your state of peace

Early Morning Praise ~

Early in the morning,
before the sun is ablaze
give a shout of pure joy
a song of heartfelt praise.

Make a sweet melody,
show God your gratitude
sing out your praises
with a joyful attitude.

Early in the morning,
as the sun begins to rise
remember God’s kindness
as He lightens up the skies.

Clap your hands together,
lift your arms in praise
give your day to the Lord
thanking Him for His ways.

While the dew is still set,
on the morning lawn
while the house is yet dark
before it becomes dawn.

Show your thankfulness,
to the Lord up above
lift up your heart-song
praising Him for His love.

When your day is finally over,
as the sun dims its blazing light
thank God for His faithfulness
all though the starry night!

A promise to the world,
a child to be given . . .
so many years foretold
so all could be forgiven.

Moonless night shining,
with the Morning Star
calling watchful shepherds
to come from afar.

Wise Men carry gifts,
meant for only a King
angels up in heaven
Glory ~ Glory ~ sing.

God became a man,
the Good News is born
begotten Son arrives
on this CHRISTmas morn.

Our mighty God concedes,
to the wickedness of man
the Prince of Peace comes
to bridge the empty span.

Wonderful is His name,
Counselor to the meek
the Son was born of flesh
to give power to the weak.

Our everlasting Father,
knows our fallen state
so He sent His only Son
to save us from our fate.

A promise to the world,
our Lord and Savior is born

A Plate of Grace ~

Come this Thanksgiving . . .
there’ll be no turkey with dressing
I’m only going to serve a plate
of gratitude for God’s blessings.

As a substitute for candied yams,
we’ll feast on His loving kindness
taste the sweetness of His favor
as we reflect on His righteousness.

There’ll be no rolls and butter,
instead, we’ll eat of the Bread of Life
with gratitude we’ll give our thanks
to Jesus for bearing our strife.

In place of mashed potatoes,
there’ll be praise piled just as high
we’ll sing our adoration
in place of having pumpkin pie.

The only beverage we will drink,
will be from the one True Vine
with humility on our lips
our thanks will be as sweet as wine.

Come this Thanksgiving . . .
there’ll be no traditional dinner
instead I’ll serve a plate of grace
to anyone who is a sinner!

Rejoice, Rejoice In the Lord ~

and when I’m down and feeling low
let Your joy in me freely flow.

Lord, lift my spirits in Your love,

My Morning Song ~

Early in the morning,

Sticky Note to God 07.26.17

God’s In Control ~

When I look out at the world,
and all God has created . . .
I see everything He’s made
though this fact often is debated.

But, I will not contend,
with what I know to be true
for the earth and the heavens
Lord, I know belong to You.

When I see all the beauty,
I know it’s not man-made
to all the other theories
I cannot be swayed.

For, I know God is powerful,
and what is His will, will be
though man fights this reality
in the end the truth all will see.

When I look out at the world,
I see the earth to us on loan
and I believe with all my soul
God controls it from His throne!

My Kind of Hope ~

My hope is built on,
things I cannot see . . .
not on the troubles
today, surrounding me.

On them I don’t focus,
I’m looking forward to
the day God’s glory . . .
comes shinning  thru.

Today’s sufferings,
don’t compare to the day
when everyone’s tears . . .
will all be wiped away.

I’m eagerly awaiting,
for Jesus to return
when for this world . . .
I’ll haven’t one concern.

My hope is built on,
things I cannot see
especially the day  . . .
Jesus comes for me!

Words of Encouragement ~

Early in the morning
to God I quietly pray . . .
for words of encouragement
He would have me to say.

Before the dawn breaks,
while I am still in bed
thoughts of comfort and hope
dance around in my head.

I rise up with His Son,
His Word I begin to read
to places of mercy and grace
I let the Holy Spirit lead.

I write for His glory,
I write hoping you will find
peace and tranquility . . .
to fill your heart and mind.

When I go to bed at night,
to God I silently pray . . .
that He did bless someone
with what, He gave me to say!

A Psalm of Peace ~

Mourning ~ greets me,
with a peaceful Psalm
washing over me . . .
like a healing balm.

The soothing effect,
brings my heart relief
God’s tender mercies
helps me in my grief.

The ointment of peace,
repairs daunting dreams
a Psalm of peace leads me
to quiet, calming streams.

My soul finds its comfort,
in a God who’ll not forsake
who’s peace flows within me
the moment that I awake.

The salve of restoration,
mends the damage done
renews me each new day
with the rising of the Son.

Morning greets me,
with a peaceful Psalm
joy washes over me . . .
like a healing calm!

Lord, I want to bring You glory,

Prayer Request ~

Dear faithful friends and bloggers . . .

It is with a heavy heart that I put these words together
My 39-year-old son committed suicide early this morning.
He leaves behind his wife and four children ages 18,16,5 and 3.
I pray that you will keep them in your hearts and prayers.

Our God is a good and gracious God full of tender mercy and grace
His loving kindness never ceases and His peace is unimaginable.
He is my strength and my might. I trust Him with all my heart
and feel His presence in my life as He takes me through this journey.

I will return with more poetry soon,
I am sure He will use this time to give me more words
to bring Him glory and praise.

Through the Lens of Faith ~

Through the lens of faith,
I have a perfect view . . .
for when I look through it
all things become new.

I can see my heavenly Father,
sitting on His throne
promising to me
one day He’ll bring me home.

I can look into the future,
see Jesus coming again
I can see the hope He’ll bring
to a universe full of pain.

I can look past right now,
and see everlasting peace
I can see the joys of heaven
that will never end or cease.

One Day ~

One day every knee shall bow,
before Jesus, the King of Kings
one day every person will face
the judgment that He brings.

One day every mouth will confess,
Jesus is the Lord over every nation
one day God will get His due glory
for being the Author of all creation.

One day those who have loved Him,
will offer Him songs of praise
one day those who have refused Him
will account for their evil ways.

One day every person in the world,
will bow down and confess
Jesus Christ is the Lord and Savior
every tongue, His name will profess.

One day Jesus will come again,
to rule and set up His Kingdom
one day the world will know peace
and the meaning of true freedom!
