Praying Hands ~

I pace, I walk,
I toss and turn
wring hands
stomach churns.

Anxious, nervous
panic-stricken
my uneasiness
starts to sicken.

I pray, I plea,
I beg and implore
to a God
who won’t ignore.

Peaceful, blissful
calm sets in . . .
my apprehension
I give over to Him.

I rest, I wait,
I trust and believe
praying hands
peace achieved!

return to your state of peace
give your fears to the Lord
onto Him your anxieties release.

I found that place of peace,
where to God I can pray
I found when I’m there
we have so much to say.

I found that niche of hope,
where with God I’m alone
I found when I’m there
there is no real time zone.

I found that nook of stillness,
where with God I converse
I found when I’m there
in quietude I’m immersed.

I found that secret place,
where with God I can be
I found when I’m there . . .
He dwells there too with me!

The Sound Of Silence ~

Upon the break of day,
I feel a calming stillness . . .
where everything appears
to be oddly motionless.

The sedated quietness,
infiltrates the early dawn
to the sound of silence
I find myself gently drawn.

The placid tranquility,
awakens up my soul
to ponder how only God
could this quietude control.

The peace radiating down,
seems so imaginable
that in its grip I remain
completely immovable.

Surrounded in silence,
I sense this to be . . .
just the kind of stillness
for Jesus to meet me!

Just Chillin’ With My Lord ~

Today I am chillin’,
not going to get bothered
won’t let one little thing take
my peace from my Father.

I’m just going to kick back,
and rest here all the day
I’m not going to let anything
take our oneness away.

Today I’m taking it easy,
not going to get uptight
instead I will just soak in
all of Jesus’ calming light.

I’m just going to relax,
in the warmth of His love
and let His grace beam

Peaceful rest,

Jesus, My Calm ~

Lord, thank You for being,
my calm before the storm
for bringing me peace . . .
before it starts to form.

For, I never know,
when one I’ll go through
and when I do . . .
I want it to be with You.

Lord, thank You for going,
into the storm with me
there’s no one else
with whom I’d rather be.

For, only You can still,
my fears that fall and crest
and provide for me
an anchor on which to rest.

Stop And Pray Each Day ~

 

Each day we need,
to stop and pray
and listen to . . .
what God has to say.

We need to pray,
for His mercy anew
so temptation
we can subdue.

We need to pray,
for more grace
so the enemy
we can face.

We need to pray,
for His favor
if our faith
should waiver.

We Need to pray,
for His healing balm
to help keeps us
still and calm.

We need to pray,
for His power
so we’ll have victory
no matter the hour.

We need to pray,
for His wisdom
to give unto us
a clear vision.

Fearless ~

I once was bound,
knotted up with fear
but then Jesus came
and drew me near.

He took my thoughts,
filled them with hope
became the Anchor
at the end of my rope.

I once was chained,
coupled with dread
but then Jesus came
right into my head.

He took my mind,
filled it with peace
said unto Him
my fears to release.

Get a Grip on Fear ~

Whenever fear begins,
messing with my head
when it fills up my heart
with anxiety and dread.

It’s when I go to Jesus,
to still the storm inside
soon the waves of fear
calmly start to subside.

Whenever fear grips me,
squeezing my very soul
when with it I battle
to take back control.

It’s when I go to Jesus,
for that stillness exceeding
soon the trembling I feel
starts peacefully receding.

Whenever fear creeps in,
just as it starts to invade
it’s when I go to Jesus . . .
for He makes me not afraid!

Whatever is Lovely ~

Whatever things are lovely,
that which is positive
think about such things
everything else is just negative.

For, that which is uplifting,
is full of righteousness
and will bring to your heart
contentment and quietness.

that which is tranquil
think about these things
your worries they will still.

For, that which is hopeful,
that which brings confirmation
will give you Godly confidence
full of love and not frustration.
