I’m Choosing Joy ~

Today, I’m choosing joy,
over being depressed
today I am going to be
by gladness obsessed.

I am going to fixate,
on God’s right hand
and the pleasure evermore
for me He has planned.

Today, I’m choosing joy,
over being distressed
today I am going to be
by happiness possessed.

I am going to keep my eyes,
on the thing I can’t see
so that the peace of God
will wash all over me.

for the hope I have found

coming from a place so deep

Lord give us a spirit,

What is Hope ~

Hope is for today,
it’s for tomorrow too
hope is knowing God

A Joy Jump ~

Some Christians,
seem to be grumpy
fussy and sulky
and a little bit crabby.

They seldom smile,
or say something nice
it’s as if their hope . . .
has turned dry as ice.

Some Christians,
seem to be uptight
I can hardly see
a flicker of light.

They barely laugh,
seldom do they grin
it’s as if their peace . . .
took one on the chin.

me being a grump

My Portion ~

The Lord is my portion,
He is my all and all
He satisfies my inner needs
when on His name I call.

I lack not one good thing,
when to Him I inquire
He grants my spiritual wants
for He is my faith supplier.

assurance, hope and gladness.

Lord, today I’m in need,
of a good and thoughtful word
to hear something pleasant
so, my joy can be stirred.

I need words that’ll soothe,
the troubles in my mind
I need to hear something . . .
compassionate and kind.

I need something said,
to ease the ache inside
I need to hear You say . . .
“I’m always at Your side.”

I need some encouragement,
something that will motivate
the words that on my own . . .
I’m not able to communicate.

let people see it is Jesus
who has you feeling so amazed.

What Can Steal My Joy ~

What can steal my joy,
who can take it away?
no, not chaos nor Satan
will lift it from me today.

Not pain, or sickness,
can rob the joy I feel
no, not even the grave
can my gladness steal.
