Psalm 30:5
Joy comes,
to heart’s broken
joy returns
in words unspoken.
Joy arises,
from out of the pits
joy emerges
with strength and grit.
Joy enters,
with peace and calm
joy becomes
the soul’s healing balm.
Joy reaches,
into mind’s affected
Joy arrives
when least expected
Joy follows,
weeping nights
joy arises
on morning’s light!

in the morning.

When feeling the heat,
of God’s anger
know your faith
may be in danger.
For when the fires,
start testing you
God want to see
what you will do.
When feeling the heat,
of fiery affliction
know your heart
needs conviction.
For when the nightly fuel,
of sin beings to flame
you’ll need to confess
them in Jesus’ name.
When feeling the heat,
of tears remorseful
in the morning’s light . . .
you’ll again be joyful!

Grief is a process,
time it does not know
it keeps its own rhythm
tis why it ebbs and flows.
It swells like a wave,
rising in your chest
you never know when
it will rise or crest.
Grief is a phase,
time means not a thing
it keeps its own beat
tis why it’s so cutting.
It stuns like a blow,
hitting in your face
you never know when
for one you should brace.
Grief is a transition,
time has no meaning
but, we who trust God . . .
know joy will be coming!

“But, beloved, be not ignorant
of this one thing, that one day
is with the Lord as a thousand years,
and a thousand years as one day.
Weeping may endure
for a night, but joy cometh
in the morning.

Do your tears downpour,
when you confess your sin
do they fall like raindrops
as they drip off your chin?
Is your heart remorseful,
of your every evil deed
will you give up your pride
and let the Holy Spirit lead?
Do your tears well up inside,
and come from deep within
do they drip like dewdrops
when you cry out to Him?
Will you come to the Light,
to have your heart reformed
will you call upon His name
so your life can be transformed?
Have you looked into God’s eyes,
and wept from your disgrace
do you know your tears to Him . . .
are the diamonds of His grace?

When sleep eludes you,
on these things dwell upon
and before you know it
it will be a new dawn . . .
I will in perfect peace,
cause you to lie down
so come and rest on Me
I promise to stay around.
I will keep you safe,
all throughout the night
and when you awake
it’ll be to My light.
My ears are open,
to your every care
let Me have them now
so each one I can bear.
In My bottle I collect,
the drops of your tears
so trust Me tonight
with all of your fears.
This evening may be,
full of tears and sorrow
but, joy will come I promise
upon a new tomorrow!

God’s brought me through,
the valley of pain . . .
gave me His strength
for He knew my strain.
He took me by the hand,
lead me through my grief
promised with each step
in Him I’d find relief.
I held on so tightly,
for I thought I’d faint
but God became for me
sorrow’s constraint.
Some days are really hard,
others not so bad . . .
but God comforts me
when I’m feeling sad.
Through the valley of grief,
heartache and mourning
God keeps reminding me . . .
joy will come in the morning!

Good morning joy,
it’s so nice to see you
its such a blessing
to have you in my view.
Good morning joy,
thank you for greeting me
it’s so nice knowing
today with me you’ll be.
Good morning joy,
it’s a wonder you are here
I know God sent you
to dry my every tear.
Good morning joy,
though I’m still grieving
just the thought of you
is soothing and relieving.
Good morning joy,
it’s so comforting to know
you’ll be following me
where ever today I go!

Some days its hard,
just getting out of bed
my heart seems as if . . .
it were full of lead.
Pain and heartache,
has it weighed down
as does the heaviness
of wearing sorrows frown.
But, today will be,
a day I will rise . . .
without one tear
welling in my eyes.
Instead I will leap,
right out of this bed
and on Jesus my grief
I am going to shed.
Some days its hard,
to find joy in the morning
especially when your heart
is in a state of mourning!

Tonight, I’m purging my sorrow,
I am crying my last tear
I am not going to weep
for, I’ve nothing left to fear.
Thou there is darkness,
surrounding me tonight
tomorrow I will awake
to His gracious light.
Tonight, I’m getting rid of,
all the pain that I feel
the grief I’ve bottled up
so my tears God can heal.
My sobbing He has noted,
they’re in His book of grace
tomorrow night there won’t be
any tears running off my face.
Tonight, I’m purging my sorrow,
I’ll not be crying in the morning
I am not going to weep . . .
for, joy has replaced my mourning!

I can see joy rising,
on the horizon
I can see the clouds
beginning to brighten.
I can see the sky,
go from gray to blue
I can see joy making
its glorious way through.
I can see joy growing,
with its fragrant bloom
I can see happiness
chase away the gloom.
I can see the elation,
shinning in the dark
I can see joy leaving
its eternal mark.
I can see joy rising,
above all the pain
I can see the blissful day
when Jesus will soon reign!

Mourning ~ greets me,
with a peaceful Psalm
washing over me . . .
like a healing balm.
The soothing effect,
brings my heart relief
God’s tender mercies
helps me in my grief.
The ointment of peace,
repairs daunting dreams
a Psalm of peace leads me
to quiet, calming streams.
My soul finds its comfort,
in a God who’ll not forsake
who’s peace flows within me
the moment that I awake.
The salve of restoration,
mends the damage done
renews me each new day
with the rising of the Son.
Morning greets me,
with a peaceful Psalm
joy washes over me . . .
like a healing calm!

will you call upon His name
and let your sin be disclosed?

do you know your tears to Him . . .
are the diamonds of His grace?
