Wonderful Is His Name ~

His name is Wonderful,
Faithful and True
He came into the world
so He could save you.

His name is Eternal Life,
Deliverer, Lord of All
He became flesh to forgive
all who on His name call.

His name is Almighty
the Author of all Life
He came to put an end
to our earthly strife.

His name is Counselor,
Mighty God, King of Kings
redemption and salvation
His grace to all brings.

His name is Immanuel,
Prince of Peace, Mighty One
He was sent by His Father
as a Savior for everyone.

Wonderful is His name,
the Light, the Morning Star
He came to forgive you . . .
no matter who you are!

A promise to the world,
a child to be given
so many years foretold
so all could be forgiven.

Moonless night shining,
with the Morning Star
calling watchful shepherds
to come from afar.

Wise Men carry gifts,
meant for only a King
angels up in heaven
Glory ~ Glory ~ sing.

God became a man,
the Good News is born
begotten Son arrives
on this Christmas morn.

Our mighty God concedes,
to the wickedness of man
the Prince of Peace comes
to bridge the empty span.

Wonderful is His name,
Counselor to the meek
the Son was born of flesh
to give power to the weak.

Our everlasting Father,
knows our fallen state
so He sent His only Son

God’s Gift of Jesus ~

A Child, a Babe,
today is born
the Son of Man
Salvation’s horn.

Our Mighty God,
the Sacrificial Lamb
fulfills the Word
of the great I AM.

A Carpenter, a King,
brings Good Cheer . . .
of His Kingdom
soon coming here.

Our Counselor, Our Rock,
our Father Everlasting
long ago Wise Men
were heard forecasting.

A Child is born,
God’s gift to you and I
for the Morning Star
has risen in the sky!

A Virgin’s birth,
a Gift perfect
a way back to God
for hearts to connect.

A Mighty God,

a Love never

Making My List ~

It’s that time of year,
to start again planning
the season’s festivities
which are so demanding.

So, I’m making my list,
checking it anew . . .
making sure Jesus
it first includes You.

For with all the to do’s,
amidst the busyness
I don’t want to forget
the truth of CHRISTmas.

So, I’m taking a time out,
to pause and to ponder
to rejoice and to revere in
this time of great wonder.

It’s that time of year,
to list all the reasons
why I truly celebrate . . .
the CHRISTmas season!

Getting Ready for CHRISTmas ~

I’m getting ready,
to celebrate CHRISTmas
I’m preparing my heart
to be for God a witness.

I’m going to be sharing,
the only true reason
why there even is  . . .
a CHRISTmas season.

I’m calling it CHRISTmas,
not a happy holiday
I’ll not be embarrassed
when Jesus’ name I say.

If I offend anyone,
Jesus I know I will not
for CHRISTmas is God’s gift
not the ones store bought.

I’m getting ready,
to celebrate CHRISTmas
for my Savior I will be . . .
a witness that is fearless!

Happy Birthday Jesus ~

Happy Birthday Jesus,
today, I’ll make You a cake
so my family and I . . .
Your life, we can celebrate.

The candles will be Your light,
the frosting will spread Your love
and the filling, will be a mixture
of every good gift, from above.

I’m going to give You a present,
to show my heartfelt, gratitude
by having everyday for You . . .
a thankful, pleasing attitude.

I’ll wrap it in Your grace,
tie it with ribbons of Your peace
with the promise everyday . . .
my praise for You, will not cease

We will sing songs to You,
to show our heartfelt adoration
with verses to include the reason
You’re, the joy unto salvation!

Where’s Your Peace?

Where is your gift of peace,
where do you keep it . . .
is it found in a bottle of booze
or that cigarette you just lit?

Where is your gift of peace,
how many pills does it take
how many drugs do you need
till you no longer shake?

Where is your gift of peace,
when will the violence end
when will you stop hurting
your family and your friends?

Where is your gift of peace,
how much longer will you look
to the world for the answers
and not in the Good Book?

Where is your gift of peace,
where do you keep it . . .
how much longer from God
will you keep your sin a secret?

Jesus, is the Prince of Peace,
He’s your strength in all things
but you must turn to Him . . .
and confess to Him everything.

Then you will find the calm,
of God’s eternal peace . . .
and from these worldly things
in Jesus, you will be released!

Finding Christ in CHRISTmas ~

 

I can’t find Christ in CHRISTmas,
it’s like they erased away His name
replacing Him with some greetings
that just don’t mean the same.

Happy Holidays,
is just too bland and generic
although it’s sounds pleasant
it doesn’t capture the true spirit.

Season Greetings,
doesn’t express or say anything
about the life-saving reason
the season we are celebrating.

Merry Xmas,
can it get any worse?
Yet, people can say Jesus Christ
when they swear and curse.

I can’t find Christ in CHRISTmas,
the world continues to resist
the Savior born on CHRISTmas
it’s as if He doesn’t even exist!
