Words Spoken in Deeds ~

words-spokne-in-deeds-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann

Acts of kindness,
words of hope
we all need them
to help us cope.

Acts of compassion,
words of forgiveness
we should all make
our daily business.

Acts of love,
words of encouragement
helps us through
our own discouragement.

Acts of gentleness,
words of appreciation
seen in our actions
and communication.

Acts of generosity
words of helpfulness
leaves no room
for our own selfishness.

Acts of kindness,
words spoken in deed
we all should give . . .
but, we also need!

“And be ye kind one to another,
tenderhearted, forgiving one
another, even as God for
Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”

What Love Is ~

What is Love ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann ~

Love is patient,
love is kind
love doesn’t have
a haughty mind,

It will not boast,
it is not proud
it doesn’t stand
out in a crowd.

Love is pleasant,
it doesn’t envy
it is cheerful
always friendly.

It’s full of joy,
mercy and favor
it is faithful
never a traitor.

Love is calm,
it is peaceful
never angry
always grateful.

It’s brings light,
rays of hope
love helps others
how to cope.

Love is patient,
love is kind
for love has . . .
a forgiving mind!

1 Corinthians 13:4-5

“Charity suffereth long,
and is kind; charity envieth not;
charity vaunteth not itself,
is not puffed up,

Doth not behave itself unseemly,
seeketh not her own, is not easily
provoked, thinketh no evil;”

Putting on CHRIST ~

Putting on Christ ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann ~

I’m putting on Christ,
I’m  wearing the robe of love
wrapping it around me
till it fits like a glove.

I’m going to don an attitude,
of humility and meekness
I’m going to bind myself up
with gentleness and kindness.

I’m putting on Christ,
after righteousness I’ll thirst
I’m going to hunger after
putting God in my life first.

I’m going to turn away,
from  temptation and sin
I’m calling upon the power
He gives to me within.

I’m putting on Christ,
wrapping myself in His grace
for it’s the only way I know
to finish the faithful race!

A Word of Encouragement ~

An Encouraging Word ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann ~

A word of encouragement,
everyone needs to hear . . .
words that will help dissolve
away another person’s fear.

Words that bring comfort,
to hearts that are frayed
words that will soothe
the ones that are afraid.

Words that will mend,
the effects of sin and pain
words that will bring hope
into someone’s life again.

Words that are restoring,
offering aid and relief
words that help to repair
another’s faith and belief.

Words that are healing,
oozing truth like a balm
words that bring about
an everlasting calm.

A word of encouragement,
we all need to hear one
so today won’t you please . . .
encourage just someone!

Striving ~

Striving ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

Every day Lord,
I strive to be like You
every day I pray . . .
Your love will shine through.

Every day I venture,
to be gentle and kind
every day I try . . .
to have peace of mind.

Every day Lord,
I search to find Your will
every day I ask . . .
for the wisdom to be still.

Every day I endeavor,
to study Your Word
every day I attempt . . .
to follow what I’ve heard.

Every day Lord,
I strive to be more like You
every day I challenge myself
to do what You would do!

A Little Show of Mercy ~

SHOW A LITTLE MERCY ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

A little show of mercy,
can go a long, long way
a little bit of kindness
can brighten someone’s day.

An act of thoughtfulness,
can bring someone a smile
an unselfish deed done
can go beyond that extra mile.

A helping hand can stretch,
beyond another’s need
a joyful giver can sow
into others a cheerful seed.

A heart full of grace,
can make all the difference
a cheerful, happy face
can hardly meet resistance.

A little show of mercy,
can go a long, long way
it doesn’t take too much
to bless someone’s day!

in his heart, so let him give; not
grudgingly, or of necessity: for
God loveth a cheerful giver.”

Gracious Words ~

Gracious Words ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann ~

Lord, let my words be gracious,
seasoned with kindness
let them be spoken . . .
with pure divine guidance.

Let them be influenced,
by the life, You once led
let them be compassionate
like the words, You once said.

Let them bring You glory,
let them shine of Your light
let them be filled with . . .
the Holy Spirit’s might.

Let them build others up,
not take someone down
let them be courteous
always spiritually sound.

Lord, let my words be gracious,
seasoned with truth and love
let my words be something
that You will be proud of!

To Look At Me ~

~ CHRISTian poetry by deborahann ~What God Sees ~ DoorPost Verses.com ~

To look at me,
you’d think I was sweet
the nicest person . . .
you could ever meet.

I always have a smile,
never wear a frown
that is until . . .
no one else is around.

Unless, of course,
you live with me
then my sourness
I know you’d see.

That’s when I can be,
oh, so very irritated . . .
for the tiniest of things
can get me, so agitated.

Any one would think,
frustration was my name
as it doesn’t take much . . .
for me, to be inflamed.

Lord, wherever I go,
remind me You’re there too
so my attitude . . .
can reflect more of You!

1 Samuel 16:7

“But the Lord said unto Samuel,
Look not on his countenance,
or on the height of his stature;
because I have refused him:

for the Lord seeth not as man seeth;
for man looketh on the outward appearance,
but the Lord looketh on the heart.”

Give a Fruit Basket This Year ~

fruit used with permission IBible Vereses

This year give a fruit basket,
to everyone you know . . .
fill it with Love and affection
until it begins to overflow.

Pack it with a bunch of Peace,
put into it, some tenderness
don’t forget to stock it with . . .
a whole lot of Gentleness.

Be sure to add your  Faith,
calmness and some Patience
when you mix it all together . . .
it’ll release a pleasing fragrance.

Place into it Self-Control.
pile on high, a lot of Meekness
top it off with endless Joy . . .
for a basket full of Goodness.

This year make up a fruit basket,
then pass it all around
tell others of the hope . . .
that in Jesus, you have found!

You Are A Blessing to Me ~

friendship-is-blessing~ CHRISTian poetrybydeborahann~used with permission IBible Verses

Have I told you lately,
you are a blessing to me
have I expressed how much
in you, God’s grace I can see.

Have I let you know recently,
how much I appreciate you
have I conveyed in actual words
my gratitude for all you do.

Have I voiced my pleasure,
of just having you around
have I said, you lift me up
whenever I’m feeling down.

Have I uttered my thanks,
for your kindness and love
have I spoken I believe . . .
you’re my angel from above.

Have I told you lately,
what a blessing you are to me
have I expressed just how much
of Jesus ~ in you, I do see!

The Love of God ~

The Love of God ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

May you know the love of God,
in all of its glory and fullness
may you uncover its very depth
and the meaning of His richness.

May you discover the love of God,
in all of its purity and loveliness
may you perceive its very height
and be filled with His faithfulness.

May you sense the love of God,
in all of its peace and kindness
may you feel its very breadth
and be calmed by His tenderness.

May you discern the love of God,
in all of its grace and gentleness
may you detect its very length
and behold all of His mercifulness.

May you love the Lord, your God,
with all of your heart and soul
may you come to Him right now
and let Him make your life whole!

Ephesians 3:17-19
King James Version

“That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith;
that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
May be able to comprehend with all saints
what is the breadth, and length, and depth,

which passeth knowledge, that ye might be
filled with all the fulness of God.”

I Forgive You ~

Forgive ~CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann ~

God forgives me,
and you, I do too
though I’m not happy
with the things, you do.

But, by His grace,
and mercies ever tender
a forgiving heart to you
I am willing to render.

God forgives me,
I am not without sin
daily over kindness
there’s a battle, to win.

But, in His strength,
I fight off the attack
turning to Jesus for
the meekness, I lack.

God forgives you,
for what you’ve done
I forgive you too . . .
because of His Son!

To Live In The Spirit ~

Let Them See used with permission IBible Verses

When you live in the Spirit,
you’ll turn away from sin
you’ll pursue after holiness
with the power of Him within.

You’ll produce much fruit,
throughout the day
when you live in the Spirit
joy will lead the way.

When you live in the Spirit,
love will be in your stride
and the peace God gives
you won’t be able to hide.

You’ll be patient and kind,
you’ll learn how to be meek
the truth, light and way
you will earnestly seek.

You’ll understand justification,
the true meaning of His grace
when you live in the Spirit
Jesus’ heart you’ll embrace!

A Joyful, Thankful Heart ~

Lord, a joyful, thankful heart,
I bring to Thanksgiving’s table
a soul forever grateful
for all that You are able.

You make my plate complete,
when from Your Word I reap
the full bounty of Your grace
in Your kindness I do steep.

You fill me with such peace,
Your tender mercies overflow
Your love fills me to the brim
Your compassion in me grows.

You supply all my needs,
bless me with even more
You fulfill my every dream
with promises of life ~ evermore.

Lord, a joyful, thankful heart,
I bring to You not just on today
a soul full of hope and gratitude
for all You’ve done along the way!

I Wonder!

Bear Much Fruit used with permission Doorpost Verse on facebook

Sometimes I have to wonder,
if God wears a big old frown
if He mumbles and grumbles
as He drives from town to town.

If He wakes up drained and tired,
if He complains throughout the day
if He gets perturbed and frustrated
when things don’t go His way.

I wonder if He gets angry,
if He gets just plain annoyed
if He is more than a little agitated
and He feels a joyless, hopeless void.

If He needs His own space,
if He wants to be left all alone
If He wishes no one would visit Him
or call Him on the phone.

I only wonder these things . . .
because as His child ~ I should be
an imitator of His love . . .
but that’s not what others always see!

How Can I Show My Gratitude?

Father, how can I show my gratitude,
my gratefulness for all You’ve done
how can I show my thankfulness
for the eternal gift of Your Son?

What can I do to repay You,
for the kindness You’ve given me
what can I give back to You
so my appreciation You can see?

How can I render my thanksgiving,
the sense of my true gratification
how can I ever prove to You
the full delight of my satisfaction?

Father, how can I show my gratitude,
my gratefulness for all You do
how can I show my thankfulness
if I am not always praising You?

The Fruit of The Spirit ~

Bear Much Fruit used with permission Doorpost Verse on facebook

Within each of us,
the Holy Spirit lives
and His awesome power
in our lives He wants to give.

But, we must feel the fire,
the burning of desire
to call upon His strength
so His might we’ll acquire.

Once we have received,
this supernatural gift
our souls will belong to Him
and our spirit’s He will lift.

For, He’ll anchor us in His love,
in all things, we’ll have peace
and His unexplainable joy
in our life’s will never cease.

We’ll have patience for everyone,
to others we’ll be kind
His gentleness and goodness
will fill our hearts and minds.

People will see that our faith,
is humble and full of justice
for our meekness will shine
as they learn to trust us.

Within each of us,
the Holy Spirit lives
and all of His fruits  . . .
He wants to give!

Let Us Love ~

Let Us Love ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann ~

Let us not love in idle words,
that simply roll off our tongues
let us love in truthful actions
and deeds that are left unsung.

Let us not love with conditions,
that requires more of another
let us love in a forgiving measure
bracing and lifting up each other.

Let us not love over factors,
that causes us to clash and fight
let us love with assuring hearts
filled with joy and His delight.

Let us not love in competition,
that causes one to win or to lose
let us love with honest declarations
His truths be in the terms we choose.

Let us not love with a lofty heart,
that brings or puts another down
let us love with hope and bold faith
so others can see the truth we’ve found.

Let us love with pure, honest deeds,
so our conduct awes and inspires
another life to turn to our Lord
for that is what  ~ His heart desires.

Philippians 2: 1-3
King James Version

“Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ,
if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit,
if any affection and mercy, fulfill my joy by being like-minded,.
having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit,
but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.”

Blessed Are The Merciful

Blessed Are by Joe Cacazos free photo #5225

Blessed are those who are merciful,
those who notice another’s needs
those who are moved to respond
who go wherever ~ the Spirit leads.

Blessed are those who show pity,
those who have true compassion
those who care less of themselves
who go without their own ration.

Blessed are those who show favor,
those who forgives someone of sin
those who display God’s empathy
who have His kindness living within.

Blessed are those who evangelize,
those who spread the Good Word
those who seek after the unsaved
who wants the truth to be heard.

Blessed are those who are merciful,
those who supply grace each day
those who rather give then receive
for endless mercy is coming their way!

Rest, My Soul, Rest

let go let God by Daniel Sauceda free photo #15590

Rest, my soul rest,
return to your state of peace
give your fears to the Lord
and find complete release.

Revisit His loving kindness,
dwell in the calmness of His ease
retire thyself in His fullness
let His grace bow your weary knees.

Go back to thy youthful days,
remember His patience ~ bountiful
reclaim your right to His respite
for His endurance is plentiful.

Rest, my soul rest,
let His mercy comfort and console
return to your state of peace
and let His tranquility take control!

The Pill of Bitterness

Forgiveness by Michael Hickman free photo #4015

Bitterness is a bitter pill,
that at times we all swallow
causing a pool of self-pity
where misery loves to wallow.

At first, the acid taste,
doesn’t bother us too much
for we feel justified in our pain
and to our anger we still clutch.

As we take our daily dose,
sweet revenge turns a little tart
but we don’t seem to notice
the spite budding in our heart.

We take our correct measure,
each morning when we awake
for we are not willing to forgive
and aren’t wanting to forsake.

The cure for bitterness,
can’t be found in any kind of pill
but you can find the treatment
when you learn to do God’s will.

Ephesians 4:31
King James Version

” Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and
evil speaking be put away from you, with all
malice. “

A Plate of Grace ~

Come this Thanksgiving . . .
there will be no turkey with dressing
there will only be a plate of gratitude
served with God’s many blessings.

As a substitute for candied yams,
we are going to feast on His kindness
and taste the sweetness of His favor
as we reflect on His loving guidance.

There will be no rolls and butter,
instead, we’ll eat of the Bread of Life
and with gratitude we’ll give our thanks
that we no longer live in hopeless strife.

In the place of creamy mashed potatoes,
there will be praise piled just as high
and we will sing to Him our adoration
instead of eating pumpkin pie.

The only beverage we will drink,
will be from the one True Vine
and with sanctification on our lips
Jesus’ sacrifice will be as sweet as wine.

Come this Thanksgiving . . .
I’m not making a traditional dinner
I’ll only be serving the grace of God . . .
to those I know ~ who are still a sinner!
