To know God is to love Him,
with total devotion . . .
it’s more than just going
through insincere motions.
It’s with all of your heart,
your soul and your mind
not just with words
that are lukewarmly kind.
To love God is to trust Him,
to hunger and thirst
to put His kingdom
into your life first.
It’s knowing His will,
and His ways following
it’s Jesus’ life you find
that you are shadowing.
To love God is to praise Him,
with every inch of your being
for to love and to know Him
is adoration freeing!

Sometimes I want to stand,
on top of the highest hill
raise my hands to the Lord
tell Him how I really feel.
I want to shout my love out,
hear His echo back at me
I want to close my eyes tight
hoping His glory I might see.
Sometimes I want to sit,
on the tallest mountain top
sing my praises to the Lord
and never let them stop.
I want to shower on Him,
my heartfelt gratitude
I want Him to see in me
for Him a thankful attitude.
Sometimes I just want to stand
soak up all of God’s peace . . .
and my joyful praise
onto Him empty and release!

Lord, may all my days,
I give You praise
may my thanks
to You I raise.
May for all things,
my thanks I give
may it be for You
that I should live.
May all the time,
I worship You
may I be grateful
for all You do.
May my devotion,
be in my attitude
may to You it be
one of gratitude.
Lord, may each new day,
my praise to You I sing
may the fruit of my lips
to You thanksgiving bring!

We don’t need a special day,
to show how we’re thankful
for every day to God . . .
we need to be grateful.
We can come together,
any time of the year
and share the real cause
for our heart’s good cheer.
We can give our thanks,
no matter the season
a special holiday
needn’t be the only reason.
We can enter into,
the gates of thanksgiving
anytime, anywhere
without a single misgiving.
For, God doesn’t care,
when or how we show . . .
our thankfulness to Him
He just wants to know!

O, sing of God’s goodness,
sing of His grace . . .
sing about His mercies
for all to embrace.
Sing in the morning,
sing into the night
sing of God’s wonder
sing of His saving light.
Sing to God’s honor,
sing of His name
sing how forever
He’s always the same.
Sing in the storm,

Lord, give me a thankful heart,
one always appreciative
one that to all your blessings

Let it be a heart filled,
each day full of praise
let it show my gratitude
as my thanksgiving I raise.
Lord, let me have a heart,
truly thankful for all things
no matter what in my life

I’ll praise God when I’m happy,
I’ll praise Him when I’m sad
I’ll praise God when things go right
I’ll praise Him when they are bad.
I’ll praise God when I’m in pain,
I’ll praise Him when I’m not
I’ll praise Him when I’m elated
I’ll praise Him when I’m fraught.
I’ll praise God when I’m strong,
I’ll praise Him when I’m weak
I’ll praise God when I’m sturdy
I’ll praise Him when I’m meek
I’ll praise God with a smile,
I praise Him through my tears
I’ll praise God when I’m hopeful
I’ll praise Him despite my fears.
I’ll praise God while I’m here,
I’ll praise Him until the end
as long as I have life and breath
my praise to God I will send!

I can’t carry a tune,
don’t have a great voice
but for my Savior
I still sing and rejoice.
I don’t know the melody,
haven’t got me the ear
but it doesn’t stop God
my praises to hear.
I can’t read the music,
don’t recognize the chords
but I still carry on
worshiping my Lord.
I don’t have the rhythm,
can’t understand the beat
but I keep on rejoicing
at my Savior’s feet.
I can’t carry a tune,
a note I can’t hold
but, my praise to God
is still always bold!

It’s easy to sing,
when the day is trouble free
it’s easier to give accolades
to God, when full of glee.
It’s easy to sing,
when all is looking bright
it’s easier to praise God
when bathed in His light.
It’s easy to sing,
when all is going well
it’s easier to let our gratitude
for God, to grow and swell.
It’s easy to sing,
when happy and content
it’s easier for us to God
our thanksgiving present.
But, they who still sing,
in the darkness of the night
are those who praise God . . .
no matter what’s in their sight!

On Thanksgiving day this year,
before the turkey starts roasting
my thanks, I will be singing
for the dinner I’ll be hosting.
I will set the dining table,
with the gratitude I feel
before anyone comes
to feast upon the meal.
I will spread the hope,
that I’m feeling inside
before I even serve . . .
the food that God supplied.
I will polish up on all,
the reasons I’m thankful
before I even dish up
one blessed, single plateful.
On Thanksgiving day this year,
before the food I present
I will let everyone know . . .
just why I am so content!

When my heart is faint,

When my heart is heavy,

when my mind has cares
at Jesus’ feet I leave them
with my thankful prayers!
