The Gulf of Grief ~

In the depth of despair,
there is a gulf of grief . . .
where the sorrows of this life
leaves us begging for relief.

The hurting soul can’t calm,
or remove the heartbreak
it needs the healing touch
of the One who won’t forsake.

We thirst for healing waters,
for a peaceful resting place
where we can purge the pain
that’s too unbearable to face.

The grieving soul can’t let go,
nor cause the ache to part
only God can relieve . . .
the throbbing in its heart.

In the depth of despair,
there is a gulf of grief . . .
and only Jesus can bring
the heartbroken true relief!

One Day Soon ~

One Day Soon ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

One day with the Lord,
we will forever be . . .
one day our tears
we’ll never again see.

One day death,
God will banish
one day our grief
will but, vanish.

One day sadness,
joy will replace
one day our cries
mercy will erase.

One day our pain,
will no longer dismay
one day the old things
will just pass away.

One day soon Lord,
all will be made new
when on the day . .
we come home to You!

~~~~~~~~~
Revelation 21:4-5
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes;
and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow,
nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain:
for the former things are passed away.
And he that sat upon the throne said,
Behold, I make all things new.
And he said unto me, Write: for these
words are true and faithful.”
Jesus Will Heal ~
Jesus Will Heal ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborahann ~
I know the pain,
that you feel
you don’t think
it will ever heal.
The void in your heart,
just won’t go away
no matter how hard
or often you pray.
I know the grief,
eating you up inside
you don’t think
it will ever subside.
Your heart hurts so,
the ache is deep
every time you laugh
you begin to weep.
I too have felt,
the pain you feel
but trust me ~ Jesus
in time will heal!
shall reap in joy.”
Why Lord ~
~ CHRISTian poetry by deborahann ~ Greatest Suffering - IBible Verses
Why, oh why Lord, I ask,
is my heart so heavy . . .
why is this ache I feel
so constant and steady?
Why do my tears flow,
like a flooding rain
why do they not ease
my suffering and pain?
Why do I feel so cold,
like a bleak winter day
why does it seem the hurt
will never go away?
This was my question,
weighing on me today
and this is what the Lord
had to say . . .
“Why, oh why, My child,
do you carry so much grief
why haven’t you found
true comfort and relief?
Give to Me the full extent,
of your heartache and pain
lest My own suffering . . .
was done for you in vain!”
of this present time are not worthy
to be compared with the glory
Prayer Heals All Wounds ~
CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann ~ our-prayers-do-make-a-difference
Prayer heals all wounds,
releases the hurt inside
prayer brings peace  . . .
when to God we confide.
Prayer heals all heartache,
releases the brokenness
prayer restores and renews
it brings us back wholeness.
Prayer heals all anguish,
releases despair and grief
prayer brings restoration
it brings to our soul relief.
Prayer heals all suffering,
releases the pain we feel
prayer removes the misery
when to God we appeal.
Prayer heals all wounds,
releases the hurt inside
prayer brings us peace  . . .
when daily its applied!
Let Me Not Lose Hope ~
~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann ~ Don't Lose Sight - IBible Verse
Lord, let me not lose You,
in the midst of my grief
let me not lose hope . . .
in the fog of disbelief.
Let me not lose peace,
in the haze of my pain
let me not lose hope . . .
against sorrow’s strain.
Let me not lose joy,
in the mist of my loss
let me not lose hope . . .
as this bridge, I cross.
Let me not lose faith,
in the turmoil of my soul
let me not lose hope . . .
as sadness, takes its toll.
Lord, let me not lose You,
let me not lose sight
of the hope I have in . . .
Your restoring light!
Deepening Faith ~
God is Faithfull  by Nathan Vanhorn CreationSwap
Thank You God for this time,
of sorrow, pain and grief
I know You sent it to me
to test my true belief.
Though, I don’t understand,
exactly Your reasoning
I can feel my faith . . .
in You deepening.
As I continue on the path,
I know You will heal . . .
the ache and the sadness
that today, I still feel.
I know You have a plan,
for every one of us . . .
and I know of no one else
in whom I can truly trust.
And so I’ll wait for You,
to bring me out my despair
and until such time . . .
Your faithfulness, I’ll declare!
Somedays ~
~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann ~ Your are My Strength IBible Verses
Somedays, like this one,
I think only about you, my son
somedays, I feel as if . . .
my world has come undone.
Somedays, I pray and pray,
that this is but a dream
somedays, I feel as if . . .
my tears could form a stream.
Somedays, I think about,
the times when you were here
somedays, I feel as if . . .
I still can sense you near.
Somedays, I am so sad,
my grieving makes me writhe
somedays, I feel as if . . .
there’s no air for me to breathe.
Somedays, I dream about,
the man, you were meant to be
somedays, I feel as if . . .
you’re right here next to me.
Somedays, my Lord and Savior,
I feel as if . . .  I cannot  go on
and so today it will be . . .
Your strength, I’ll drawn upon!
The Valley ~
If God used with permission IBible Verses
Lord, You have me in this valley,
for reason that are unknown . . .
but, I know deep in my heart
I am not down here all alone.
For, I know You are with me,
every step of the way . . .
and I know deep in my soul
there will come a better day.
Lord, I don’t know how long,
in this valley I will be . . .
but, I am prepared to stay
as long as Your here with me.
For, You have always promised,
from me You would never leave
and I know deep in my spirit
these words I now must believe.
Lord, I thank You for this valley,
though it has me feeling low
but, I know I am down here . . .
so my faith in You can grow!
How Much Longer Lord ~
~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann ~They who mourn - IBible Verses
How much longer Lord,
will I be in this wilderness . . .
how much longer, oh my God
will my heart feel this tenderness?
How many more tears Lord,
are there left for me to cry
how many more drops will fall
until they finally dry?
How many more sleepless nights,
will I still go through
how much more restlessness
will inhabit my days too?
How  much more  grief,
can this heart of mine take
how much more of this pain
till I finally get a break?
How much longer Lord,
will I be in this wilderness . . .
when will You relieve me
with Your loving tenderness?
The Valley of Sorrow ~
Land 2 by Forrest Cavale free photo #4175
Through the valley of sorrow,
God is taking me . . .
I know not the purpose
but, the future He sees.
Through the valley of heartache,
with grief as my load . . .
I know not the whys
but, God knows the road.
Through the valley of suffering,
I am being lead . . .
I know not the outcome
but, God knows what’s ahead.
Through the valley of pain,
with only tears in my sight
I know not the reason
but, God knows the fight.
Through the valley of sorrow,
God, I will follow Thee . . .
I care not the duration
for I know, You are with me!
By His Grace ~
My Grace is Sufficient used with permission Doorpost Verses
Sometimes, it’s hard to get up,
to greet a brand new day
sometimes, I think in my bed
I should cover up and stay.
Sometimes, it’s hard to put,
one foot, in front of the other
sometimes, I ask myself . . .
why should I even bother.
Sometimes, it’s hard to dress,
to wash my face and hair
sometimes, the pain I feel
is just too much to bear.
Sometimes, it’s hard to leave,
to close and lock the door
sometimes, I don’t want to go
even to my favorite store.
But, whenever I start to feel,
today ~ I just cannot do . . . .
Jesus whispers in my ear
“My grace will get you through!”
The Path of Grief Unknown ~
~CHRISTian poetry by deborahann ~ the-lord-is-with-us-in-the-valley
I walk the path of grief,
in the valley of pain unknown
but Jesus is here with me . . .
so I don’t have to walk it alone.
The path has its ups and down,
the valley, its highs and lows
but Jesus is here with me . . .
in the midst of my sorrows.
The pathway of heartache,
is paved with dread and fear
but Jesus is here with me . . .
His grace is always near.
The days seem to creep along,
the nights are without end
but Jesus is here with me . . .
my Comforter, my Friend.
I walk the pathway of pain,
but I’m not walking it alone
for Jesus is here with me . . .
on the path, of grief unknown.
What Is A Teardrop?
he-will-wipe-every-tear-from-their-eyes ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborahann ~
What is a teardrop,
what causes it to fall
why do they even form
when we cry or bawl?
What are they made of,
what causes them to drip
why are they salty
when they fall on our lip?
What makes them go splat,
what causes them to stain
why do they soak in
when they fall like rain.
What turns on each drop,
what causes them to spout
why do they gush
when will they run out?
What makes us weep,
what causes us to cry
when will Jesus come . . .
so God ~ can wipe them dry?
What Can Steal My Joy ~
unspeakable-joy-CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann
What can steal my joy,
who can take it away?
no, not chaos nor Satan
will lift it from me today.
Not pain, or sickness,
can rob the joy I feel
no, not even the grave
can my gladness steal.
Nor can stress or strife,
cause my joy to tarnish
no problem or worry
will make my joy vanish.
No hurt or heartache,
can embezzle out of me
the bliss I will feel
when Jesus I finally see.
Nothing can steal my joy,
nobody can take it away
not even grief or sorrow
will cause my joy to decay!
When Death Comes Suddenly ~
cast-all-your-burdens-to-the-lord CHRISTian poetry by deborah belka
When someone you know dies suddenly,
it leaves a hole in your heart
when a love one is taken quickly
it tears and rips . . . your gut apart.
Sleepless nights, nightmarish days,
you do your absolute best to get by
keeping strong for everyone
but when left alone . . . all you do is cry.
You go through all the motions,
as you make the funeral plans
yet deep inside you don’t believe
this task is now . . . in your hands.
Your mind can’t really wrap around,
the shock, the horror, of it all
“It’s not true, this didn’t happen”
as you relive . . . that awful call.
On the day of the memorial,
you put on your bravest smile
walking the aisle to your seat
feels like it’s . . a million miles.
Oh, the grief, the heartbreak and the pain,
how it’s just too unbearable . . .
but, if on Jesus you cast your sorrow
He will make it ~ more than bearable!
Our Worldly Home ~
Going Home by Doug Shelton free photo from CreationSwap
In this, our worldly home,
there is misery and pain
we toil and we labor . . .
but, it’s all done in vain.
We fight off the weariness,
from being disillusioned
we try not to faint under
the constant confusion.
All of our grueling work,
never seems to pay off
at times at our own selves
we can’t help but to scoff.
We still have hunger pangs,
our thirst is never satisfied
all our disappointments
are eternally magnified.
We feel the throb of sorrow,
we know the sting of grief
from sickness and death
we know there’s no relief.
In this, our worldly home,
the curse of sin always reigns
but, in our heavenly home . . .
nothing will cause us any pain!
It Takes a Broken Heart ~
the-lord-is-close-to-the-brokenhearted_ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann
Sometimes, it takes a broken heart,
that God has to repair and mend
sometimes, it takes one crushed
by a loved one or a friend.
Sometimes, He needs a heart,
that is full of grief and pain
sometimes, it takes one mournful
filled with regret and shame.
Sometimes, He needs a heart,
suffering one blow after blow
sometimes, it takes one sorrowful
so His mercy He can show.
Sometimes, He needs a heart,
shattered and torn
sometimes, it takes one regretful
full of self-contempt and scorn.
Sometimes, God needs your heart,
broken and beaten down
so He may come into your life
and turn your world around.
Sometimes, it takes a broken heart,
that finally seeks His face
sometimes, it takes a broken spirit
to receive the fullness of His grace!
We’ll have grief and tragedy,
but be of good cheer . . .
Jesus overcame our tomorrow!
Rejection’s Tears . . .
from swollen eyes
rejection again . . .
Loss of arm,
By His Stripes ?
lamb-of-god free photo
If Jesus abased and humbled Himself,
then why don’t we hold Him in esteem?
If He was obedient even unto the cross,
then why won’t His salvation we redeem?
If He bore His own grief and sorrow,
then why don’t we think He’ll take ours?
If He took upon Himself our punishment
then why don’t we see His scars?
If He was wounded for our transgressions,
then why do we still pursue after sin?
If He was bruised for our iniquities,
then why does immorality still win?
If His chastisement became our peace,
then why do we still have so much conflict?
If by His stripes, we have been healed,
then why do we on others ~ pain inflict?
If He was oppressed and treated unfairly,
then why do we still treat Him this way?
It must be true what the Bible tells us,
all of His sheep . . . have gone astray!
In The Twinkling Of An Eye ~
In Just A Twinkle Of My Eye ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann
In the twinkling of an eye,
with my Lord, I’m going to be
upon that glorious trumpet blow
on the clouds He’ll come for me.
My tired, weak fragile body,
will be changed into a new one
in just a twinkling of an eye
my new life will have begun.
No longer will I hurt,
pain won’t have its grip on me
in just a twinkling of an eye
in heaven I will finally be.
My tears of grief and sorrow,
will turn to cries of glee
in just a twinkling of an eye
His glory  will be all I see.
No more will I have to battle,
the burdens of this life
in just a twinkling of an eye
I’ll have victory over strife.
With my Lord, I will be
to this world I’ll bid goodbye
and I’ll dwell in perfect peace
in just a twinkling of an eye!
Jesus Is Always There!
Through all the pain and sorrow,
the ones we own, the ones we borrow
the ones we make, the ones we bear
Jesus is always there!
Within all the grief of our tears,
the ones of love, the ones of fears
the ones we cause, the ones we share
Jesus is always there!
During all the trials and tribulations
the ones of hope, the ones of frustrations
the ones we conceal, the ones we declare
Jesus is always there!
In all the uncertainties that lay ahead,
the ones we know, the ones we dread
the ones we risk, the ones we dare
Jesus is always there!
Throughout the storms of this life,
the ones of calm, the ones of strife
the ones we cede, the ones we fare
Jesus is always there!
Jesus Knows Your Pain ~
Dealing with Pain by Marian Trinidad free photo # 8971
Jesus knows your pain,
He understands your grief
He knows that only His love
can bring your heart relief.
He recognizes your sorrow,
He sees the spiteful sting
and the grace He has for you
in your life, He wants to bring.
He’s aware of your rejection,
He hears others put you down
and His favor and His mercy
will be your victory crown.
He identifies with your hurt,
the tenderness of your ache
and He will bring you comfort
that no man could ever break.
For He too ~ was rejected,
His life others gladly discarded
He knows the agony inflected
when your cry is disregarded.
Jesus knows your pain,
He wants to give you relief
for He died to put an end to
your sorrow and your grief.
Fear Thou Not ~
As the storms of life,
rages on . . .
and your hopes
are all but gone
when your faith
is tossed about
and in its wake
you’re left with doubt.
Find comfort in,
the storm’s center
God’s peace will greet you
as you enter
and you’ll hear His whispers
above the angry sea
“Fear thou not, for I am with thee.”
When in the midst,
of a test or trial
and you find yourself
in complete denial
when your trust
is rocked and shaken
and you’re frighten
once you awaken.
Find comfort in,
the face of tribulation
God’s love will give
you a new revelation
and His whispers
will set you free
“Fear thou not, for I am with thee.”
As you suffer,
in your grief
and you don’t know
when you’ll get relief
as your heart breaks
into little pieces
and your pain each day
only increases.
your sorrow
His compassion
will brighten your tomorrow
and through His whispers
you will see . . .
