When Pain Has A Grip ~
Night can be so lonely,
when on us pain has a grip
it can be so very dark
when into depression we slip.
But our God is the God,
of the midnight hour
and we can make it through
when we call on His power.
Nights are excruciating,
when we are suffering
one can feel so hopeless
when our bodies are hurting.
But, God is our refuge,
our safe-haven and retreat
where our strength in Him
He’ll restore and replete.
Nights are long and lonely,
when in pain you’re withering
but God promises to bring us
mercy and grace, delivering!

This Hurts ~
Lord this hurts,
even after all these years
this empty, void space
still brings me to tears.
Like a knife,
my heart its cut through
so I’ll continue to give . . .
this pain over to You.
Lord this hurts,
in every single way
it still is painful
no matter what they say.
Like a vise,
my heart its crushed
so onto You my grief
I will continue to thrust.
Lord this hurts,
it’s more than I can take
only with Your strength
can another year I make!

Thankful In Any Circumstance ~
Whatever comes my way,
I take this stance . . .
to be thankful
in every circumstance.
Whenever I am happy,
my praise to God I sing
and I thank Him for . . .
the joy that He brings.
Whenever I have troubles,
I seek Him and I pray
and I thank Him for . . .
the peace on my way.
Whenever I’m hurting,
I trust my pain He’ll relieve
and I thank Him for . . .
the strength to believe.
Whenever I’m doubtful,
I give to Him my fear
and I thank Him for . . .
being close and near.
Regardless of how I feel,
I praise Him in advance
and I thank the Lord . . .
no matter my circumstance!

A Godly Intervention ~
Sometimes God,
has to do some afflicting
so our stubborn hearts
He can begin softening.
For, He wants to remove,
the hardness deep inside
so there will be the room
for Him to fully abide.
Sometimes God,
brings about suffering
so our prideful minds
He can start uncovering.
For, He wants to rid us,
of our self-centeredness
so we’ll have self-restraint
filled with temperateness.
Sometimes God,
has to get our attention
so with our stubborn hearts
He calls for intervention!

Oh, What Jesus Can Do for You ~
I see your pain,
I hear your doubt
I know you think
there’s no way out.
But, if Jesus can,
heal the sick and lame
I know for youย . . .
He can do the same.
I hear your sorrow,
I see your grief
I know you think
they’ll be no relief.
But, if Jesus can,
calm the seas at will
I know for you . . .
your heart too will still.
I see your pain,
it’s written on your face . . .
but oh, what Jesus can do
with His love and grace!

The Heart-Felt Cry ~
God hears your cries,
He hears your pleas
He is aware of . . .
your cares and needs.
He knows when you are,
feeling out and down
He knows you need
to sense He’s around.
So, if you’re hurting,
thinking God doesnโt care
believe me I know . . .
to your pain He’s aware.
For I have been,
just where you are
convincing myself
God from me was afar.
But, I have found this to be,
one of satan’s lies
for, God promises to hear
our heart-felt cries!

The Path Towards Peace ~
The path towards peace,
is one paved in pain
with plenty of loss
for our spiritual gain.
On it there is suffering,
sorrow and persecution
but, in Jesus we all have
hope and restitution.
The path towards heaven,
is full of ups and downs
plenty of highs and lows
we have to get around.
On it there are setbacks,
barricades and barriers
but, they only make us
for Jesus, stronger warriors.
The path towards joy,
is one we can truly trust
for Jesus our Savior . . .
has gone on it before us!

Along My Journey ~
Lord, along my journey,
to get closer to You
there were lots of obstacles
I had to maneuver through.
You took me down the road,
of sorrow and grief
so I would learn to turn
to You for peace and relief.
You put me on the path,
of heartache and loss
so I would know the pain
of carrying my own cross.
You brought me to places,
I did not want to go
so that Your mercy
I’d truly come to know.
Lord, along my journey,
of hope and salvation
You always had for me
a joyful destination!

Grief Is Like an Ocean ~
Grief is like an ocean,
it ebbs in and out
some days are calm
others are a wipeout.
Grief is like a stream,
that keeps on flowing
some days it slows down
others it comes rushing.
Grief is like the wind,
that seems not to ease
some days get gusty
others are but a breeze.
Grief is like a storm,
that can be unyielding
some days are tranquil
others are unrelenting.
Grief is a process,
that defies the span of time
for the loss of a love one . . .
lasts a whole lifetime!

My Grief Comfort Verses
The Lord is my rock, and my fortress,
and my deliverer; my God, my strength,
in whom I will trust; my buckler,
and the horn of my salvation,
and my high tower.
” Blessed are they that mourn:
for they shall be comforted.”
“Fear thou not; for I am with thee:
be not dismayed; for I am thy God:
I will strengthen thee; yea,
I will help thee; yea, I will
uphold thee with the right hand
of my righteousness.”
“And the peace of God,
which passeth all understanding,
shall keep your hearts and minds
through Christ Jesus.”
“Yea, though I walk through the valley
of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil:
for thou art with me;
thy rod and thy staff they comfort me”
“And God shall wipe away all tears
from their eyes; and there shall
be no more death, neither sorrow,
nor crying, neither shall there be
any more pain: for the former things
are passed away.”
and so many more . . .

Under the Shadow ~
There is a shadow,
that comes from up above
we walk under it . . .
when we lose someone we love.
The void casts upon our souls,
the worst of our fears . . .
leaving us so heartbroken
our words, become our tears.
For, underneath the shadow,
there is but pain and grief
and the gloom that we feel
seems to have no real relief.
Laying beneath the shadow,
there is a raw darkness . . .
making everything around us
seems to dull, in its starkness.
But God has promised us,
this valley we’d get though
so remember while under it . . .
He is right there with you!

A Confident Future ~
I’m grateful for the past,
for the valley’s I’ve been in
for they have given me . . .
the strength I have within.
I’m grateful for my failures,
and yes, even my every loss
for they have all lead me . . .
to the foot of the cross.
I’m grateful for the pain,
of a heart that’s been broken
for to the mercies of God . . .
my soul has been awoken.
I’m grateful for the process,
I have been put through
for Lord, it has brought me
to be much closer to You.
I’m confident of the future,
though not sure were it’ll lead
but I’ve true peace knowing . . .
with God, I’ll have all I need!

Missionary Eyes ~
Lord, help me to see,
with missionary eyes
so I may observe . . .
other’s heartfelt cries.
Let me bring hope,
to someone today
by showing to them
the Life and the Way.
Let my inspire,
just one, if You will
howย they can learn
to wait and be still.
Send someone to me,
who feels all alone
so I may show them
the way to theย throne.
Give me a chance,
to help carry a load
so someone’s burden
I can help unload.
Lord, give to me,
missionary eyes
let me beย Your lightย . . .
to the heart that cries!

We Are All Wounded ~
We are all wounded,
from the battles of life
we all carry with us
scars from the strife.
We have all suffered,
the pain of depression
each of us has felt
the sting of rejection.
We are all wounded,
damaged in some way
we all carry with us
the hurts of yesterday.
We all need healing,
from the harm done
we all need someone
to whom we can run.
We are all wounded,
in need of comforting
we all need Jesus . . .
to ease our suffering!

Time . . . Does Not Heal ~
It’s not time ~ that heals,
it’s not about a new day
it’s about God’s mercy . . .
taking our suffering away.
It’s not about a brighter day,
of another tomorrow . . .
it’s about God understanding
the true depth of our sorrow.
It’s not time ~ that we need,
it’s not about anotherย year
it’s about God collecting . . .
in His bottle our every tear.
It’s not about a certainย period,
of suffering and grief
it’s about God’s grace. . . .
bringing broken hearts relief.
It’s not time ~ thatย will mend,
the wounds ofย our despair
it’sย believing Jesus will heal
all the pain, that we bear!

How Many More Tears Lord ~
Lord, how many tears,
of mine have You collected
how many moreย droplets
are still to be projected?
How much of my sorrow,
have You in that jar . . .
how many more tears
will flow to You from afar?
How many more will spill,
from each puffy eye
how many more tears Lord
do I have left to cry?
How much more pain,
will I have to go through
until that jar overflows
with my teary eye dew?
Lord, how many tears,
do You still have to collect
how many more to You . . .
will I still need to direct?

Behind the Pain ~
God has a reason,
for this, I know . . .
He has a plan
for these tears, I sow.
God has something,
for me to learn
He has a truth
for me to discern.
God has a purpose,
for all of this pain
He has a newย insight
for me to gain.
God has a point,
for me to find
He has aย revelation
to fill my mind.
God has a reason,
for this, I know . . .
He has a design
for myย joy toย grow!

I am Precious ~
I know to God I am precious,
for He sent to me this trial
His grace shall be sufficient
in this, there can be no denial.
Though my faith is being tested,
through the furnace I need to go
when all is said and done
there’ll be a heavenly afterglow.
All this pain and suffering,
are but for a passing moment
for the blood of Jesus . . .
shall be my eternal atonement.
One day I know I will see,
my Lord’s glorious appearing
and that is why this trial . . .
to me ~ is worth enduring.

Reaping What We Sow ~
If everyone followed,
the rule that is golden
then to these words
they would feel beholden.
If you want to be forgiven,
you must learn to forgive
if you want encouragement
affirmation you must give.
If you feel hurt and wounded,
in need of a gentle touch
you will need to be sensitive
when to pain, others clutch.
If need to be understood,
you must show others grace
if you want compassion
mercy you need to embrace.
If you don’t like gossip,
then watch what you say
If you don’t want to be judged,
then turn your cheek away.
If you’re in need of friends,
with sympathetic ears
yours too must be willing
to be thoughtful to all it hears.
If you want to be treated kindly,
you must first treat other’s so
for, I’ve read it in the Bible . . .
we shall reap what we sow!

Let Grace Carry You ~
Let grace carry you,
when you are weary
let it bring you hope
when you are teary.
Let grace carry you,
it’s arms are open wide
let it be your light
your everlasting guide.
Let grace carry you,
thru the storms of life
let it bring you calm
in the midst of strife.
Let grace carry you,
your burdens it’ll bear
let it remove from you
your every single care.
Let grace carry you,
past the pain and grief
let it comfort you
with everlasting relief.
Let grace carry you,
in the arms of eternal love
let it bring you the peace
from our Father up above!

Be An Overcomer ~
This world is full of tribulation,
suffering, stress and pain
but you can be an overcomer
when in your life, Jesus reigns.
For, Jesus has already won,
His victories are yours to claim
just put you faith in His hands
and call upon His name.
He has beaten down the devil,
casted out every evil spirit
so claim your victory in Him
when Satan comes to visit.
There is not an enemy,
which Jesus has not faced
you too can rise above yours
for you’re covered in His grace.
When death comes knocking,
on your earthly door . . .
remember that your victory
is in Jesus Christ our Lord!
