Jesus’ Burden Is Light ~

When our load is heavy,
Jesus’ burden is light
when we embrace our fears
He’ll give us strength to fight.

When we feel we are unloved,
Jesus will call out our name
when we feel our own disgrace
He’ll take away our shame.

When we feel over burdened,
Jesus will carry our strife
when we feel the sting of death
He’ll bring us eternal life.

When we feel like giving up,
Jesus will stretch out His hand
when we feel faint and weak
He’ll help us to rise and stand.

When we feel there is no hope,
Jesus will bring to us His love
when we feel our heart break
He’ll send mercy from above.

When we are in need of rest,
Jesus will give it to us
for His yoke is easy . . .
when we give Him our trust!

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Matthew 11:28-30
Come unto me, all ye that labour
and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me;
for I am meek and lowly in heart:
and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Me and My House ~
As for me and my house . . .
I’m asking Jesus to come to live
my heart and my soul to Him
I’m going to open up and give.
But, first I’ll make it ready,
and clean up the dirty mess
I’ll search my heart to see . . .
any hidden sin to confess.
Then I’ll toss out my idols,
keeping me away from Him
the ones new and shiny
all those growing old and dim.
I will toss them all out,
replace them with my Bible
with the books of preachers
whom I know are reliable.
I’m making sure I am ready,
so the Lord I can serve
because me and my house . . .
know it’s what Jesus deserves!
~~~~~~~~

Joshua 24:15

“And if it seem evil unto
you to serve the Lord,
choose you this day whom
ye will serve; whether the
gods which your fathers
served that were on the
other side of the flood,
or the gods of the Amorites,
in whose land ye dwell:
but as for me and my house,
we will serve the Lord.”

God’s Amazing Light ~

Lord, give me a warm heart,
a spirit that is bright . . .
let me see everything
through Your amazing light.

Let me see morning’s dawn,
even when it’s bleak
let me see Your splendor
whenever You I seek.

Let me be grateful,
for each new day given
let me be thankful
even when storm driven.

Let me see the sunshine,
even when there’s rain
let me see the blue skies
even when I am in pain.

Lord, keep my heart warm,
uphold my spirit bright . . .
so when the night turns dark
I’ll see Your amazing light!

~~~~~~~~~
1 John 1:5
“This then is the message
which we have heard of him,
and declare unto you,
that God is light, and in him
is no darkness at all.”
Only Jesus ~
There’s no other name like Jesus,
no other One we can call on
no other person that can help us
to be to His Father drawn.
There’s no other name in heaven,
no other name given unto man
no other person who has for us
the way to salvation’s plan.
There’s no other name like Jesus,
no other One with such power
no other One we can rely on
no matter the given hour.
There’s no other name we know,
no other One that loves us
no other name that spells out
in whom we can always trust.
There is no other name that shines,
no other One has the light
no other name helping us
in the battles we fight.
There is no other name like Jesus,
no other name that we can call
no other person can save us
It’s only Jesus ~ or no one at all!
Acts 4:12
“Neither is there salvation in any other:
for there is none other name under heaven
given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
#throwbackpoem ~ Crucified for Me ~
Into Our Death used with permission IBible Verses
Crucified for me,
for my sinful self . . .
oh, how in His death
there is eternal wealth.
Jesus died for me,
so that I might live
all of my transgressions
He came to forgive.
His death is my life,
in it I became new
for in Him . . .
I am crucified too.
Dying everyday,
to the greed and lust
in the world I no longer
pledge my faith or trust.
Grace and mercy,
are now my hearts anthem
ever since Jesus became . . .
my soul’s eternal ransom!
~~~~~~~

Galatians 2:20

“I am crucified with Christ:
nevertheless I live;

yet not I, but Christ
liveth in me:

and the life which I now live
in the flesh
I live by
the faith of the Son of God,

who loved me, and gave
himself for me.”

Just Pick Up Your Bible ~

If you want by God,
to be tutored and taught . . .
just pick up your Bible
and you’ll hear His thought.

For, all you need to know,
is written on each page
if you would only . . .
open it up and engage.

If you need guidance,
on what you should do
just pick up your Bible
and God will lead you.

For, every instruction,
for life that you need
is in your Bible
if it, you would read.

If you want God,
to guide and direct
just pick up your Bible
and His Word digest!

Isaiah 48.17

the Holy One of Israel; I am the Lord
thy God which teacheth thee to profit,
which leadeth thee by the way that thou
shouldest go.”

My Foot Has Slipped ~

My foot has slipped,
more than I can tally
on mountain tops
or while in a valley.

But no matter where,
I would slip
Jesus on me
always had a grip.

My foot has skidded,
time and time again
it’s plunged into
treacherous terrain.

But, no matter when,
or where I would slide
Jesus was always
right at my side.

My foot has slipped,
down many slopes
but, by the grace of God
I never lost my hope!

“When I said, My foot slippeth;
thy mercy, O Lord, held me up.”

Taking Up My Cross ~

First thing in the morning,
before I get out of bed
I take up my cross . . .
so by Jesus I can be lead.

For, when I pick it up,
it gives me the grace
to keep my arrogance
in its rightful place.

First thing in the morning,
I disrobe myself of pride
I lift up my cross
and let it be my guide.

For when I pick it up,
it gives me liberty
from vanity holding me
in conceit’s captivity.

First thing in the morning,
before I get up and get dressed
I take up my cross . . .
so with humility I’ll be blessed!

~~~~~~~~~~
Luke 9:23
“And he said to them all,
If any man will come after me,
let him deny himself, and
take up his cross daily,
and follow me.”
Eternally Secured ~
You may try,
but, I can’t be moved
for my soul to Jesus
is unshakably glued.
You may attempt,
but, I can’t be pried
for my heart to Jesus
is indefinitely tied.
You may endeavor,
but, I won’t be persuaded
for my life to Jesus
is securely barricaded.
You may aspire,
but, I cannot be lured
for my mind to Jesus
is eternally secured.
You may try,
every trick in the book
but my soul to Jesus . . .
is permanently hooked!
~~~~~~~

Psalm 62:1-2

“Truly my soul waiteth upon God:
from him cometh my salvation.
“He only is my rock and my salvation;
he is my defence;
I shall not be greatly moved.”

Dependent of God ~

If on God we’re dependent,
we’ll want to know His will
before we go do this or that
we’ll gladly remain still.

We will pray for direction,
for guidance in all things
waiting until we receive
His reverent blessings.

If on God we’re to rely,
we’ll seek His holy counsel
whatever is not of His will
we will happily cancel.

We’ll need to understand,
His plans are not our own
once we see everything
is controlled from His throne.

If on God we’re dependent,
we’ll need to be submissive
to His will for our lives . . .
we must not be dismissive!

James 4:15

“For that ye ought to say,
If the Lord will,
we shall live,
and do this, or that.”

God’s Comfort ~

Thank you God,
for comforting me
when my cares
are all I see.

Thank you Father,
for Your Son
who my burdens
takes each one.

Thank you God,
for comforting me
when riding out
the storms at sea.

Thank you Father,
for Your Spirit
who gives to me
the grace and grit.

Thank you God,
for comforting me
when troubles come
with trust in Thee!

~~~~~~
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
“Blessed be God, even the
Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the Father of mercies,
and the God of all comfort;
Who comforteth us in all
our tribulation, that we
may be able to comfort them
which are in any trouble,
by the comfort wherewith
we ourselves are comforted of God.
Before God ~
One day before God,
you will give an account
as to why you shunned Him
and shut His Son out.
One day you will be,
to God accountable
and for your rebellion
be held responsible.
One day judgement’s seat,
you will have to face
and tell God why you rejected
His gift of love and grace.
One day Jesus.
will determine your fate
and open up to you the pit
and not the narrow gate.
One day before God,
you will bow . . .
one day Jesus’ name
you will avow!
As I live, saith the Lord,
every knee shall bow to me,
and every tongue shall
confess to God.”
Sounding Brass ~
Sounding brass,
sharp and shrill
the call to charity
they can’t fill.
They seem to appear,
so strong and wise
but yet so oblivious
to charity’s cries.
Tinkling cymbals,
sound so sweet
but give no charity
to those they meet.
They look sincere,
so meek and small
yet still can’t hear
charity’s needy call.
Sounding brass,
tinkling cymbals
have not agape love . . .
plain and simple!
~~~~~~~

1 Corinthians 13:1

“Though I speak with
the tongues of men
and of angels,
and have not charity,
I am become as
sounding brass, or a
tinkling cymbal.”

Fruit Developing ~

It’s hard sometimes,
having self-control
it’s not easy to let
restraint into your soul.

But, it needn’t be,
as hard as you think
when with the Holy Spirit
your life is in sync.

It’s hard sometimes,
to be peaceful
it’s not easy to let
hope make you joyful.

But, it needn’t be,
that difficult to do
when the Holy Spirit
works inside of you.

It’s hard sometimes,
to be good and kind
it’s not easy to let
gentleness fill your mind.

But, it needn’t be,
too problematic
for, with the Holy Spirit
it becomes automatic.

It’s hard sometimes,
developing these fruits
unless the Holy Spirit . . .
establishes their roots!

~~~~~~~~~~
Galatians 5:22-23
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love,
joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness,
goodness, faith,
Meekness, temperance:
against such there is no law.”
Oh, So Willing ~
Lord, You know we can’t do,
anything without You
You also know . . .
we’ll still try to.
You know in our flesh,
we’re so very weak
You also know . . .
it’s our own will we seek.
Lord, You know we want,
to always follow after You
You also know . . .
sometimes it’s hard to do.
You know our spirit,
is oh, so willing
You also know . . .
what our heart is feeling.
Lord, You know us,
better than we do . . .
tis why we all need
to surrender all to You!
Buckle Up ~
I’m putting on my helmet,
going to protect my head
I’m buckling up the straps
with Scriptures I’ve read.
I want to be protected,
from Satan’s mind game
the hope of my salvation
is his most likely aim.
Satan is really good,
at playing with my thoughts
but my helmet keeps me
from falling for his plots.
I want to be ready,
at every curve and bend
for I know he will chase me
right up to the very end.
Satan loves the pursuit,
he will never-ever quit
but my helmet will give me
the endurance and the grit.
I’m putting on my helmet,
lest I crash and burn
going to use the Scriptures
around each and every turn!
~~~~~~~

“But let us, who are of the day,
be sober, putting on the
breastplate of faith and love;
and for an helmet,
the hope of salvation.”

Forget Not ~

Forget Not ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

Forget not the Lord,
nor His many benefits
forget not His ways
nor to them to submit.

Forget not to trust,
Him for all things
forget not to reap
the joy He brings.

Forget not to live,
in His presence
forget not to be
meek and pleasant.

Forget not the hope,
nor His perfect will
forget not to wait
remember to be still.

Forget not the mercy,
in all of its wonder
forget not His love
in all of its splendor.

Forget not the Lord,
His graces obtain
forget not the time
He’ll come again!

“That they might set their hope in God,
and not forget the works of God, but
keep his commandments:”

Just Like My Savior ~

A Sweet, Loving Nature ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

I want to be . . .
a sweet-smelling savor
to my God, I want to be
just like my Savior.

I want to learn,
all about self-denial
I want endurance
when facing any trial.

I want to serve,
not expecting back
I want to give
what others lack.

I want to be faithful,
even if I suffer
I want patience
to be my soul’s buffer.

I want to love,
with a quite gentleness
I want to be humble
full of forgiveness.

I want to pray,
through all things
I want the purity
His Spirit brings.

I want to be . . .
just like my Savior
I want to have His . . .
sweet-loving nature!

~~~~~~
Ephesians 5:1-2
“Be ye therefore followers of God,
as dear children;
And walk in love, as Christ also hath
loved us, and hath given himself for us
an offering and a sacrifice to God for
a sweet smelling savour.”
Out of The Dark ~
when we come out of the dark
He will hold us close and near!
