As for me and my house . . .
I’m asking Jesus to come to live
my heart and my soul to Him
I’m going to open up and give.
But, first I’ll make it ready,
and clean up the dirty mess
I’ll search my heart to see . . .
any hidden sin to confess.
Then I’ll toss out my idols,
keeping me away from Him
the ones new and shiny
all those growing old and dim.
I will toss them all out,
replace them with my Bible
with the books of preachers
whom I know are reliable.
I’m making sure I am ready,
so the Lord I can serve
because me and my house . . .
know it’s what Jesus deserves!
~~~~~~~~
Joshua 24:15
“And if it seem evil unto
you to serve the Lord,
choose you this day whom
ye will serve; whether the
gods which your fathers
served that were on the
other side of the flood,
or the gods of the Amorites,
in whose land ye dwell:
but as for me and my house,
we will serve the Lord.”
There’s no other name like Jesus,
no other One we can call on
no other person that can help us
to be to His Father drawn.
There’s no other name in heaven,
no other name given unto man
no other person who has for us
the way to salvation’s plan.
There’s no other name like Jesus,
no other One with such power
no other One we can rely on
no matter the given hour.
There’s no other name we know,
no other One that loves us
no other name that spells out
in whom we can always trust.
There is no other name that shines,
no other One has the light
no other name helping us
in the battles we fight.
There is no other name like Jesus,
no other name that we can call
no other person can save us
It’s only Jesus ~ or no one at all!
Crucified for me,
for my sinful self . . .
oh, how in His death
there is eternal wealth.
Jesus died for me,
so that I might live
all of my transgressions
He came to forgive.
His death is my life,
in it I became new
for in Him . . .
I am crucified too.
Dying everyday,
to the greed and lust
in the world I no longer
pledge my faith or trust.
Grace and mercy,
are now my hearts anthem
ever since Jesus became . . .
my soul’s eternal ransom!
~~~~~~~
Galatians 2:20
“I am crucified with Christ:
nevertheless I live;
yet not I, but Christ
liveth in me:
and the life which I now live
in the flesh I live by
the faith of the Son of God,
who loved me, and gave
himself for me.”

I saw it approaching me,
I knew from where it came
on the very tip of it . . .
I could even see my name.
It was smoking hot,
the flames were blazing
I knew after me
satan’s dart was aiming.
It had my faith in sight,
my trust was its goal
for satan’s always shoots . . .
directly for the soul.
As I put up my shield,
on Jesus name I called
to help me to extinguish
this flaming, fiery ball.
So, beware my friends,
if you should see the same
one of satan’s fiery darts . . .
may too have your name!

Embracing the new,
getting rid of the old
is freeing and liberating
makes us for Jesus bold.
It’s finally saying goodbye,
to former desires
and letting the Holy Spirit
ignite into our souls a fire.
Taking off the weight,
of spiritual depression
allows Jesus to make
a lasting impression.
It’s doing away with self,
and letting Jesus in
it’s going out everyday
not falling back into sin.
Doing away with the old,
for what is new . . .
is letting Jesus become
a part of you!

Charity
Sounding brass,
sharp and shrill
the call to charity
they can’t fill.
They seem to appear,
so strong and wise
but yet so oblivious
to charity’s cries.
Tinkling cymbals,
sound so sweet
but give no charity
to those they meet.
They look sincere,
so meek and small
yet still can’t hear
charity’s needy call.
Sounding brass,
tinkling cymbals
have not agape love . . .
plain and simple!

I’m putting on my helmet,
going to protect my head
I’m buckling up the straps
with Scriptures I’ve read.
I want to be protected,
from Satan’s mind game
the hope of my salvation
is his most likely aim.
Satan is really good,
at playing with my thoughts
but my helmet keeps me
from falling for his plots.
I want to be ready,
at every curve and bend
for I know he will chase me
right up to the very end.
Satan loves the pursuit,
he will never-ever quit
but my helmet will give me
the endurance and the grit.
I’m putting on my helmet,
lest I crash and burn
going to use the Scriptures
around each and every turn!

I want to be . . .
a sweet-smelling savor
to my God, I want to be
just like my Savior.
I want to learn,
all about self-denial
I want endurance
when facing any trial.
I want to serve,
not expecting back
I want to give
what others lack.
I want to be faithful,
even if I suffer
I want patience
to be my soul’s buffer.
I want to love,
with a quite gentleness
I want to be humble
full of forgiveness.
I want to pray,
through all things
I want the purity
His Spirit brings.
I want to be . . .
just like my Savior
I want to have His . . .
sweet-loving nature!

May the hope of Christmas,
rest upon you tenderly
may the Light Jesus brings . . .
shine upon you warmly.
May the hope of Christmas,
greet you affectionately
may the Way Jesus brings
you walk compassionately.
May the hope of Christmas,
fill you with peace quietly
may the Truth Jesus brings . . .
reflect in you lovingly.
May the hope of Christmas,
you hold onto reverently
may the Love Jesus brings . . .
you pass along generously.
May the hope of Christmas,
fill you with joy exceedingly
may the birth of Jesus . . .
shape your life eternally.
May the hope of Christmas,
you share with the faithless
may the power Jesus brings . . .
reveal to all His greatness!

You don’t have to be a Magi,
to follow the Christmas Star . . .
you don’t have to make a trip
or need to come from very far.
You don’t have to bring gifts,
of gold, frankincense or myrrh
it won’t cost you a thing . . .
for God’s mercy and favor.
You don’t have to be a shepherd,
to follow the Christmas Star . . .
you don’t have go anywhere
it will come to where you are.
For, Jesus is the Light shinning,
for all of the world to see . . .
He brings hope to the darkness
with His grace, He sets us free.
You don’t have to be a Magi,
or a shepherd coming from afar
you can accept the gift of Jesus . . .
today, right from where you are!
