Humble me Lord,
into submission
help me to make
a heartfelt transition.
Teach me all about,
true obedience
so I may give to You
my full allegiance.
Humble me Lord,
no matter the pain
break me free from
sin’s cursing chain.
Show me how to live,
a life lowly and meek
give me the strength
to turn the other cheek.
Humble me Lord,
until I’m fully submitted
so I may tender to You . . .
a heart that is committed!
~~~~~~~~~~
Psalm 25:8-9
Good and upright is the Lord:
therefore will he teach
sinners in the way.
The meek will he guide in judgment:
and the meek will he teach his way.
You don’t need the masses,
for a revival to erupt . . .
you don’t need a large crowd
just one soul that’s not corrupt.
You don’t need a building,
for a revival to begin . . .
you don’t need a church pew
to light a fire burning within.
You don’t need a mega church,
for a revival to get lit . . .
you don’t need loud music
just you and the Holy Spirit.
You don’t need a Sunday service,
for a revival to ignite . . .
you don’t need an assembly
for a soul to flame and incite.
You don’t need the masses,
for a revival to start
all you need is just one . . .
lowly and contrite heart!
~~~~~~~~~
Isaiah 57:15
“For thus saith the high
and lofty One that inhabiteth
eternity, whose name is Holy;
I dwell in the high and holy place,
with him also that is of
a contrite and humble spirit,
to revive the spirit of the humble,
and to revive the heart
of the contrite ones.”

Humble me Lord,
show me my pride
for I know it from You
I can’t disguise or hide.
Let me see where,
my ego’s overblown
so from its pedestal
it can be dethroned.
Humble me Lord,
take me to my knees
so that all the glory
I can give to Thee.
Let my eyes be opened,
to my narcissist ways
for You are the only One
worthy of my praise.
for all of my praise . . .

First thing in the morning,
before I get out of bed
I take up my cross . . .
so by Jesus I can be lead.
For, when I pick it up,
it gives me the grace
to keep my arrogance
in its rightful place.
First thing in the morning,
I disrobe myself of pride
I lift up my cross
and let it be my guide.
For when I pick it up,
it gives me liberty
from vanity holding me
in conceit’s captivity.
First thing in the morning,
before I get up and get dressed
I take up my cross . . .
so with humility I’ll be blessed!

If you want humility,
you will need to find
a way to unveil haughtiness
in your heart and mind.
For, when you reveal,
the smugness deep within
humility will start . . .
to trickle right on in.
If you want humility,
you will need to see
just how self-absorbed
you can truly be.
For, when you uncover,
your self-righteousness
humility with expose . . .
God’s righteousness.
If you want humility,
you’ll need to discover
just how arrogant
you can be to others.
For, when you explore,
your self-obsessed feelings
humility will have you . . .
before God kneeling!

We don’t need a special day,
to show we are thankful
for every day to God . . .
we need to be grateful.
We can come together,
any day of the year
and share the cause behind
our joy and good cheer.
We can give our thanks,
no matter the season
a special holiday
needn’t be our only reason.
We can enter into,
the gates of thanksgiving
anytime, anywhere
without a single misgiving.
For, God doesn’t care,
when or how we show
our thankfulness to Him
He just wants to know!

with praise:
be thankful unto him,

When trials blow,
me to the ground
when my cares
take me down.
Before I rise,
back to my feet
I pray to God
my needs to meet.
When storms blow,
through my door
when my worries
take me to the floor.
Before I get,
my legs back
I pray to God
for the grace I lack.
For, in my life,
to God I’ve found
to humble myself
when I am down!

God’s sending me tests,
He’s giving me situations
He’s seeing if I’ll claim
His peace trough tribulations.
God’s giving me a chance,
to find new grace each day
He is seeing if my faith
will hold up along the way.
God’s working in me patience,
He wants to affirm my hope
He’s teaching me to trust Him
for the strength I need to cope.
God’s seeing if I will rejoice,
when things are askew
He’s looking to see His glory
in my life shinning through.
God keeps informing me,
Child, this is just a test . . .
so that I may experience
what is His perfect rest!

Lord, humbly I come,
my life I submit
for You to do . . .
whatever with it.
Help me to know,
Your perfect will
keep me on the road
to Calvaryโs hill.
Help me to resist,
sinful temptation
let me not fall under
Satan’s sedation.
Help me to move,
closer to You
keep my soul away
from a world’s view.
Help me to have,
a heart that grieves
whenever to Yours
I refuse to cleave.
Lord, humbly I come,
I lift my life to You
for You to do with it . . .
what You must do!

I’m putting on Christ,
I’mย wearing the robe of love
wrapping it around me
till it fits like a glove.
I’m going to don an attitude,
of humility and meekness
I’m going to bind myself up
with gentleness and kindness.
I’m putting on Christ,
after righteousness I’ll thirst
I’m going to hunger after
putting God in my life first.
I’m going to turn away,
fromย temptation and sin
I’m calling upon the power
He gives to me within.
I’m putting on Christ,
wrapping myself in His grace
for it’s the only way I know
to finish the faithful race!

When a heart is full of grace,
it is a heart that is kind
compassion for others
it always tries to find.
It puts on humility,
wears the cloak of patience
it dresses itself with modesty
wears the robe of justice.
It is wrapped in peace,
It’s covered in forgiveness
drapes itself with love
it’s swathed in gentleness.
When a heart is full of grace,
gratitude is its garment
the Word of God . . .
is its wardrobe requirement!

Grow in grace today,
plant faith in your heart
let it root itself in love
and more grace it will start.
Grow in wisdom today,
let it dig its way into you
let it branch out in all
that you say and do.
Grow in humility today,
look for it to rise and shine
and your self-righteousness
will be on the decline.
Grow in charity today,
reach out to those in need
let your generosity come alive
and to His mercy you will heed.
Grow in knowledge today,
harvest from the Word
reap from the truth you find
then share all you’ve heard.
Grow in the Lord today,
seek after the one True Vine
take a sip from His cup
and taste the life-giving wine!

If I were like my Master . . .
I would walk miles in the sand
I’d take away someoneโs burden
lend another a helping hand.
If I were like my Master . . .
Iโd be gracious and merciful too
I would comfort my ailing brother
show a lost sister what to do.
If I were like my Master . . .
Iโd walk upon the turbulent sea
I would safely reach my destination
encouraging others to follow me.
If I were like my Master . . .
Iโd be no longer battle sin
I would show otherโs compassion
and their souls to God, Iโd win.
If I were like my Master . . .
Iโd see the hungry people to feed
I would take and offer what I had
giving them more than they need.
If I were like my Master . . .
Iโd spread the Good News all around
I would speak of Godโs forgiveness
how in Jesus new life can be found.
If I were like my Master . . .
I’d have a spirit of servitude
humility and meekness
would always be my attitude!
