Psalm 107:29
On the sea of doubt,
I have learned to be
fearless as the waves
come crashing over me.
For, I know to be strong,
even when I’m frightened
my grip on Jesus . . .
must remain tightened.
On the sea of worry,
I have learned to be
not so overwhelmed
by what I cannot see.
For, I know to be brave,
even when I’m terrified
my eyes on Jesus . . .
musn’t be cast aside.
The lessons of the seas,
of worry and doubt . . .
have taught how to shut
fear and apprehension out!
~~~~~~~~
Be strong and of a good courage,
fear not, nor be afraid of them:
for the Lord thy God, he it is
that doth go with thee; he will
not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
He maketh the storm a calm,
so that the waves thereof are still.
Faith rises,
on top the waves
for our Savior
we know will save.
Then when life,
comes crashing down
in troubles waters
we will not drown.
Faith swells,
in the surges
where hope in God
onward urges.
Then when challenges,
are all surrounding
our confidence
will keep abounding.
Faith rises,
above the swirling swells
it comes from where . . .
the Holy Spirit dwells!
~~~~~~~~
But when he saw the wind boisterous,
he was afraid; and beginning to sink,
he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
And immediately Jesus stretched forth
his hand, and caught him, and said
unto him, O thou of little faith,
wherefore didst thou doubt?
He maketh the storm a calm,
so that the waves thereof
are still.

I’m riding out these waves,
no matter how big they get
I will stick out this storm
and over it I’ll not fret.
For, Jesus is with me,
we’re in this boat together . . .
and He has promised to me
any storm we could weather.
As the winds barrel down,
I’m going to coast along
they’ll not blow me away
regardless of how strong.
For, Jesus is my Anchor,
onto Him I’ll keep my hold
for, we’re in this boat together
no matter how hard we’re rolled.
I’m riding out these waves,
I’ve the perfect ship mate . . .
for, Jesus is in this boat with me
and I trust Him with my fate!

He calms the storms,
the waves He can hush
so those in distress
into His arms will rush.
He redirects the wind,
tells it where to go
so those fearful
His peace may know.
He stops the roar,
of an angry sea
so those hopeless
His power can see.
He silences the clap,
in the thunder
so those frightened
can see His wonder.
He answers the cries,
of those afraid . . .
so they’ll learn in Him
not to be dismayed!

I’m riding out this storm,
going with the flow
no matter how long
the winds decide to blow.
I’m hanging on,
not getting blown away
on Jesus I’ll keep my grip
till I see the light of day.
I’m riding out this storm,
going to give it my all
if I start to get anxious
on my Savior I will call.
I’m clinging on,
to the Anchor of my hope
I’m counting on Jesus
to give me the grace to cope.
I’m riding out this storm,
I’ve got all the right gear
for, I have my Bible . . .
so what is there to fear!

Lord, what is this feeling,
churning inside of me
it feels as if inside . . .
I’m in a swirling sea.
I know You’re my Anchor,
but, I’m losing my grip
oh, please dear Lord . . .
do not ever let me slip.
Lord, why is my trust,
ebbing in and out . . .
why are these deep waters
causing me to doubt?
I know You’re my strength,
I know You’re my hope
but I feel as if . . .
onto You I blindly group.
Lord, why am I getting,
thrown to and fro . . .
it must be so Your stillness
I may come to know!

Some people suffer,
from motion sickness
some can’t stomach
waiting for God’s stillness.
Some people succumb,
to their fear and doubt
some can’t even begin
to shut the world out.
Some people fold,
under all the tension
some collapse beneath
the gloom of depression.
Some people’s faith,
goes by the wayside
some can’t stand firm
when pressure is applied.
Some people suffer,
from motion sickness
but those who trust in God . . .
calmly drift in His stillness!

When into your life,
a storm blows in
before it commences
to bring turmoil within.
Open up your Bible,
it will map out for you
how to maneuver
your way through.
When in deep waters,
uncharted, unknown
before the conditions
turn into a cyclone.
Your Bible is the tool,
to help you navigate
all the heavy swells
till the waters abate.
When into your life,
a storm blows through
use the Word of God
to calm and still you!

Give me peace,
in this storm Lord
give me peace
as I know You can . . .
I need You to calm,
the raging going on
I need You to hold me
till the jolting is gone.
I need You to quiet,
the turbulence within
I need Your strength
to fight the whirlwind.
I need You to still,
the thunder in my soul
I need Your tranquility
to take in me control.
Give me peace,
in this storm Lord
give me peace
as only You can!

If not for You Lord,
where would I be . . .
I’d still be tossed
on misery’s sea.
If You didn’t rescue,
me from the waves
I’d have meant with
a sinner’s grave.
Before, You came along,
I’d nothing to hold to
no one to keep me . . .
anchored, like You do.
But, there You were,
with arm’s outstretched
looking to save this poor
old miserable wretch.
If not for You Lord,
I know where I’d be
I’d still be tossing . . .
out on mistery’s sea!

My anchor is set in the Word,
my feet are firmly on the ground
though the sea may be churning
I will not get tossed around.
The waves of disappointment,
keep coming into my boat
but, I know my faith in Jesus
will help keep my hope afloat.
Discouragement sprays at my face,
rain falls like sheets of fear
but, I am not disheartened
for Jesus is ever near.
The darkness surrounds me,
don’t know what lies ahead
but, my light comes from Jesus
and I know I’ll be Spirit lead.
I know not where I’m going,
for the compass is in His hand
but I know it’ll be in His strength
that this storm I will withstand!
