Be Not Afraid Or Dismayed ~

Don’t you be afraid,
nor be ye fearful
for Jesus to the cross
to us was faithful.

For He took ours sins,
there upon Himself
so we didn’t have to
take them on our self.

Don’t be dismayed,
neither be concerned
for Jesus for our shame
rose and overturned.

For He knew He had to,
go to the cross for us . . .
so that in His grace
we’d have the faith to trust.

I Heard From God Today~

Today Lord You showed me,
just how much you care
by giving me the answer
to my beseeching prayer.

You reached down gently,
my soul You touched
told me onto You
to keep my heart clutched.

Today Lord You reminded me,
of just how good You are
how You would never leave
or be from me very far.

Now all my doubt is gone,
there is no more fear . . .
for now I know it is You
who is always close and near.

Life has many troubles,
worries and cares
it’s no wonder we need . . .
Jesus our burdens to bear.

With all the uncertainty,
each day that we face
it’s no wonder we need . . .
more and more of His grace.

Life is full of problems,
highs and lows and downs
it’s no wonder we need . . .
Jesus to keep our heart’s sound.

With all the constant chaos,
the turmoil and the stress
it’s no wonder we need . . .
Jesus ours souls to bless.

Life is but a vapor,
in the big scheme of things

Afraid Of The Dark ~

When I was young girl.
of the darkness I was afraid
my bed became for me
from danger a barricade.

I would pull the covers,
up over my head . . .
tremble beneath them
with fear and dread.

I imagined a boogie man,
was coming after me
though my own eyes
never once did it see.

My father would come,
quietly into my room . . .
to calm the anxiety
that over me loomed.

His words of assurance,
there is nothing to fear
reverberated right into
my frightened young ear.

Now that I am much older,
by man’s evilness I’m dismayed
but, now it’s God my Father . . .
telling me not to be afraid!

Living By Faith ~

Living by faith,
and not by sight
can give some of us
an awful fright.

But Jesus said,
for us not to be afraid
nor by what we can’t see
to ever be dismayed.

Living by faith,
and not what is seen
is sometimes hard
for us to glean.

But Jesus knew,
what we would face
so He gave to us
strength for the race.

Living by faith,
and not what is observed
is the only way to keep . . .
our assurance preserved!

Isaiah 41:10

We All Have Earthly Woes ~

We all have earthly battles,
all our nerves get rattled
but we who have true faith . . .
don’t become by fear shackled.

We all have earthly trials,
all our hearts get hurt
but we who Jesus know . . .
from the Light don’t divert.

We all have earthly tests,
all our minds get confused
but we who have His Spirit
to His guidance don’t refuse.

We all have earthy woes,
all our souls get bewildered
but we who in God trust . . .
know we will be delivered.

We all have earthly cares,
all believers get dismayed
but we who have eternal hope . . .
from the truth aren’t dissuaded!

Lord, Give My Faith A Backbone ~

Lord, give my faith a backbone,
robust, sturdy and strong
give my spirit the braveness
to last my whole life long.

Lord, help me not to be,
cowardly and spineless
so for You I can be . . .
courageous and fearless.

Lord, give my trust a framework,
rugged, durable and resilient
give my spirit the boldness
to go for You the distant.

Lord, help me not to be,
fainthearted and gutless
so for You I can be . . .
a light for Your justness.

When Feeling Humdrum ~

When you feel discouraged,
and your faith feels dull
before hopelessness
sinks into your skull.

Fill your mind with Jesus,
all that He did for you
and you’ll see helplessness
from another point of view.

When you feel disheartened,
and you faith feels drab
before disenchantment
your heart from God’s grabs.

Fill your mind with Jesus,
let all His words sink in
and you’ll see desperation
differently though Him.

When your faith feels blah,
and you’re feeling humdrum
fill you mind with Jesus . . .
for a hopeful outcome!

Don’t Be Dismayed ~

When in a situation,
that has you afraid
trust God is with you
so not to be dismayed.

For His presence,
will bring you rest
so don’t be anxious
or with worry wrest.

When in a dilemma.
that has you leery
wait and be still
so not to be weary.

For God has a way,
for you to get through
so don’t be perplex
until it’s in your view.

When in a dilemma,
or caught in a situation
find rest with God until . . .
you reach your destination!

You Can Rest Assured ~

When into the unknown,
God has you to go
you can rest assured . . .
a way He will show.

For, before you He’s gone,
and a path He has paved
so there’s no need for you
to be fearful or afraid.

When into the uncharted,
God has you to journey
you can rest assured . . .
there’s no need to worry.

For, He has walked,
for you down that road
and has already carried
for you, your heavy load.

When into the uncharted,
or be it the unknown
you can rest assured . . .
you will not be alone!

I Do Not Doubt ~

My God has designs,
He will figure this out
He has a plan for me
in this I do not doubt.

Though I’m concerned,
He knows just what to do
and so my Father . . .
in faith I leave this with You.

My God keeps His promises,
He is forever merciful
everything He does
is perfectly purposeful.

Though I may be worried,

for I know with God

Fear Naught ~

Throughout the Bible,
we’re told not to fear
nor to be dismayed
for God is always near.

We’re told not to be,
fearful or discouraged
that in the Lord Himself
to always be encouraged.

We’re told not to worry,
God will not fail us
no matter what man does
in Him to always trust.

We’re told not to tremble,
nor to be faint-hearted
we’re told He will finish
whatever He has started

We’re told to our prayers,
God will bend His ear
that we needn’t doubt

If Perfect Love ~

If perfect love,
casts out all fear
then why do we feel
danger is always near?

If perfect love,
dispels the dread
then why do we feel
despair in our head?

If perfect love,
makes us unafraid
then why do we feel
so ever dismayed?

If perfect love,
has not a worry
then why do we feel
our cares we must carry?

If perfect love,
does what it says it can do
then why don’t we Jesus . . .
just give our fears to You?

Victory Over Fear ~

If we’re not to be fearful,
if we’re not to be afraid
then why do we sometimes . . .
feel overwhelmingly dismayed?

If we’re not to despair,
if we’re not to be weak
then why do we sometimes . . .
feel so hopelessly bleak?

If we’re not to be concerned,
if we’re not to worry about today
then why do we sometimes . .
feel so helpless anyway?

If we’re not to be frightened,
if we’re not to have a single care
then why do we sometimes . . .
feel so emotionally threadbare?

If we’re not to be fearful,
if we’re not to be dismayed
then why are we not trembling . . .
with joy, instead of being afraid?

Be Not Dismayed ~

Wherever you go,
God is with you
whatever you do
He is there too.

You can’t see Him,
but He sees you
He knows the way
for you to pursue.

Whatever you fear,
God will ease it
whatever you dread
God will conquer it.

He’ll impart strength,
when you are weak
He’ll pass on courage
when you are meek.

So, be not fearful,

with God we need not . . .
