An S.O.S. To God ~

At the first sight,
of having stress
I send off to God
an S.O.S.

He sends me back,
a quick response
for me in His word
to get ensconced.

When fear grips me,
to the Lord I turn
before my stomach
even starts to churn.

He comes right away,
to be at my side
so to put strength
back in my stride.

At the first sight,
of stress or fear
off to God I send . . .
an S.O.S. in His ear!

The Lifter Of My Head ~

When my head,
is weighted down
from the worries
that come around.

I turn my face,
to my Father above
and He lifts me up
in His amazing love.

When my heart,
is feeling stressed
and pressure builds
in my beating chest.

I turn my eyes,
to my Lord and Savior
and He blesses me
with His uplifting favor.

When I am feeling,
down in the dumps
the One who lifts me up . . .
into me more faith pumps!

Pressure Cooker Trust ~

Some Christians fold,
when under pressure
trials and tests
they cannot weather.

Their trust starts to fizzle,
when they are stressed
and they let off steam
whenever hard pressed.

Some Christians simmer,
when under tension
hardships and grief
only cause more friction.

Their faith begins to wane,
till it all but implodes
and from all of their cares
what is left just erodes.

Some Christian blow up,
when under pressure . . .
but, we who keep praying
have peace beyond measure!

but in every thing by prayer
and supplication with
thanksgiving let your requests

We Who Are Resilient ~

Life is full of stress,
tension and strain
often leaving us
with self-inflected pain.

But, we who are resilient,
though many times we fall
know we can rebound
when on Jesus’ name we call.

Life is full of anxiety,
worry and despair
often leaving us
in a state of disrepair.

But, we who are resilient,
know how to bounce back
for we know to go to Jesus
for the strength that we lack.

Life is full of pressures,
stresses overwhelming
but we who are resilient . . .
have faith overpowering!
