Every disappointment,
is with God an appointment
so He can bless you with . . .
hope and encouragement.
Every heartbreak,
is a chance to find His love
each sorrow besetting you
is a date with God above.
Every hardship,
is a reason to be still
each trial coming your way
is a means to know His will.
Every apprehension,
is a time to give God your fear
each anxious feeling you have
is a chance to draw Him near.
Every day is an appointment,
with God you need to make
each day is an engagement
with God you need to take!

I know from experience,
God sends us heartbreak
and through it I’ve learned
He truly doesn’t forsake.
Though at the time,
we may think God isn’t near
it’s at that very moment . . .
we must give Him this fear.
For, in the midst of tragedy,
Jesus is also there
and our pain and sorrow
He truly wants to bear.
He takes our sorrow,
and give us more grace
so that our tomorrows
we can joyfully face.
I know from experience,
the breaking of a grieving heart
and now I know truly . . .
nothing can shake my faith apart!

I’m grateful for the past,
for the valley’s I’ve been in
for they have given me . . .
the strength I have within.
I’m grateful for my failures,
and yes, even my every loss
for they have all lead me . . .
to the foot of the cross.
I’m grateful for the pain,
of a heart that’s been broken
for to the mercies of God . . .
my soul has been awoken.
I’m grateful for the process,
I have been put through
for Lord, it has brought me
to be much closer to You.
I’m confident of the future,
though not sure were it’ll lead
but I’ve true peace knowing . . .
with God, I’ll have all I need!

When someone you know dies suddenly,
it leaves a hole in your heart
when a love one is taken quickly
it tears and rips . . . your gut apart.
Sleepless nights, nightmarish days,
you do your absolute best to get by
keeping strong for everyone
but when left alone . . . all you do is cry.
You go through all the motions,
as you make the funeral plans
yet deep inside you don’t believe
this task is now . . . in your hands.
Your mind can’t really wrap around,
the shock, the horror, of it all
“It’s not true, this didn’t happen”
as you relive . . . that awful call.
On the day of the memorial,
you put on your bravest smile
walking the aisle to your seat
feels like it’s . . a million miles.
Oh, the grief, the heartbreak and the pain,
how it’s just too unbearable . . .
but, if on Jesus you cast your sorrow
He will make it ~ more than bearable!

Lord, our burden bearer,
take from us our care
take away the heaviness
our tired hearts wear.
Take from us our weariness,
take from us our trouble
take away the listlessness
our tired souls battle.
Take from us our load,
take from us the heavy weight
take away the problems
on our tired minds that grate.
Take from us our pain,
take from us the deep ache
take away all the sorrow
and heal our heartbreak!

Every disappointment,
is an appointment with God
every soul that is disheartened
will be comforted by His rod.
Every heartbreak,
is a chance to find His love
every tragedy that befalls us
is a date with God above.
Every hardship,
is an agonizing upward hill
every trial that comes our way
is an encounter to know His will.
Every uncertainty,
is a meeting up with fear
every little doubt we have
is an engagement to draw Him near.
Every temptation,
is a rendezvous with sin
every occurrence we resist
is a commitment to be close to Him.
Every disagreement,
is a run-in with discord
every ordeal we go through
is an assignment to trust the Lord.
Every complication,
is a snag we’ve come across
every instance that we fail
is an occasion to assemble at the cross.
Every day is an appointment,
that with God we need to make
every day is an engagement
that with God we need to take!

Trust Him in all things,
even when dark shadows fall
trust in Jesus . . .
even when your faith is small.
Trust Him with your troubles,
cast on Him your cares
trust Him when your burdens
are too much for you to bear.
Trust Him when the pain,
sears through your heart
trust Him with your sorrow
as it rips the soul apart.
Trust Him for the unknown,
when the valley’s deep
trust Him when blinded
by the tears you weep.
Trust Him when it’s not easy,
when it seems impossible to do
trust in Jesus . . .
for, He will never fail you!

he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”
